Seeing posts from folks getting genuinely angry at the intrepid heroes and Brennan (or putting full blame on the ih and acting like Brennan can’t handle a campaign) for them taking out opponents is like… like I’m not one to say “go touch some grass” but if you’re getting so angry over not just a dnd show but over the characters trying to stay alive by taking out their enemies then please go look at the fucking sky or read a fanfic or log off like wtf y’all??? I think rat grinder redemption arc would be great too but you cannot genuinely expect the bad kids to let themselves be killed by trying to non lethally attack these fucking insanely high level enemies

Cause the rat grinders aren’t gonna just be convinced to not do this, regardless of possession or not they’re pretty in with the plan and they’re also really high level like a lv9 spell?? What else would you expect the bad kids to do?? If I were in the campaign I too would be going for the kill. It’s the smart move. And also the finale is next week like if they’re gonna get to revive Lucy they’ll also more than likely revive the others they have to kill

breaking my silence on chess the musical to say that i would literally not give a fuck about this show if i thought it was good or fully successful at what it is saying. SORRY! i love how messy she is. i love how since 1984 and continuing to this very day people with entirely different perceptions of and opinions on the musical have attempted in their own ways to "make it good" by creating all these different versions with like notably different plots, characterization, and song order, and i love how fucking bad the vast majority of these are despite it all. i hope people keep trying to fix chess the musical forever and until the end of time. i hope no one ever figures it out. i want every currently living theatre director in existence to make their own version and for all these versions to come out on broadway at the same time, making that year's musical season entirely comprised of various different versions of the cold war chess musical by tim rice and half of abba. i want not only our greatest minds but also our middlest-of-the-road and worst minds to come up with their own conclusions as to why chess does not entirely work in its original form or any subsequent forms like to really think about it and yes i do want someone to dedicate their entire life to perfecting chess by releasing version after version after version until they die peacefully but still, as always, in the grips of obsession. i want marriages to be broken up. i want mental states to be shattered. i dream of this world

I think a lot of people who are so focused on the ratgrinders being redeemed need to watch Misfits and Magic. I feel like even if the intrepid heroes TRIED to redeem the ratgrinders some of the ratgrinders fall into the same situation as Tallulah which is: even when given explicit instructions in how to be redeemed her loathing of the protagonists and conviction in her belief that she's better than them means she simply refuses to be redeemed.

I've been really debating whether or not to say this since last week's episode of fantasy high, but I feel it's important.

I can't stop thinking of Lucy Frostblade's parallels to Nex Benedict.

Nex was local to me. I never met them, but we lived such a short distance from each other. Nex was known to be so awkward, so shy, so kind. Devoted to their friends and family beyond measure. Not nonbinary at all, but Two-Spirit, a separate identity stemming from the faith that they practiced which seems barbaric to many. Nex Benedict, who was beaten to death on school grounds.

I have seen many fantasy high fans remark that they are surprised at how deeply they've found themselves grieving Lucy Frostblade's death. But it is such a mournable, and horrifically, relatable death to hear described. Before it even happened, the dimension 20 cast described and experienced a grief and loss that has been echoed by the entire nation since February 8th.

If this resonates with anyone, it is okay to let yourself use fantasy high to process and grieve something so recent and so similar. I didn't even realize how much this season was helping me through it until it dawned on me. It's a grim reality, but I hope anyone who needs it can find comfort and understanding in Lucy Frostblade's story.
