Crossover thought
Champions and Scarecrow and Mrs. King. Hey, they're both shows about secret agents. They're only about 15 years apart, so Craig, Sharron, and Richard could still be working when Lee and Amanda are a team. Nemesis and the IFF could totally have a team-up.
Heck, if you wanted to mess with the kiddos, Philip or Jamie might could date one of the Champion-characters' kiddos, and they could end up in a tight jam because of who their parents are. Or they could end up second-gen heroes.

Ghosts Vivisected: An Impartial Inquiry into Their Manners, Habits, Mentality, Motives and Physical Construction (1958) by A.M.W. Stirling
From the book jacket:
"At an age when I am on the verge of becoming a Spook myself, I find it of peculiar interest to vivisect the personalities and the wherefore of such mysterious entities as those whose existence was attested by men like Flammarion, F. F. Meyers, Sir Oliver Lodge, Sir William Barrett and Sir William Crookes." So writes Mrs. Stirling, the distinguished author of Ghosts Vivisected in her foreword. The result of her research is a brilliant analysis of the manners, habits, mentality, motives and physical construction of ghosts. Here are accounted undeniable hauntings, rappings, ghostly orgies, prophetic dreams, and other inexplicable phenomena; while the primitive and religious aspect of each is impartially reviewed.
Some readers may be interested to know that Stirling ends her foreword with the sentence: "The ghosts are painlessly vivisected."

ELLO! It me ☺️
SO sorry for the enoooormous delay, but I rly wanted to ask the Top 5 Q thingy (I can't find the post, but I'm pretty sure it was Top 5 Somethings!! *Insert Somethings here*. V sorry if I've totally misinterpreted/misremembered!)
What are your Top 5:
-- Places
-- Songs
-- Characters (from any media)
-- Memories (as in, fave memories!)
SO SORRY for the MAHOOSIVE DELAY! the past 4 days have been an ADVENTURE???? THREE DAYS! SUCH AND ADVENTURE IT HAS FELT LIKE 4. AH! But finally we have finished the busies and the sudden wallet hunt has ended (with the wallet successfully tracked down) SO NOW I AM REPLYING TO THIS ASK PROPER. AH
This ask was for this post right here: "put top 5 anything in my asks and I'll answer, go!"
so here we GO (under the cut since I'm prone to ramblies)
Places:
1) the beach! any beach! the god tier beach fave would be the beach I'd play on as a child staying at my grandparent's summer home! it's the NOSTALGIA, you feel? A couple weekends ago, we were by Lake Huron and found a quaint little side beach entrance and it was actually SO CUTE and also, I was serving looks (and so was the fluffs!):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2) the willow tree that used to be on the lot my OTHER grandparent's cottage is on. i loved running under there and hanging out under the boughs, but my aunts always fretted bc it was very close to the road and they couldn't see me! I also loved playing on the water tank garden, but we were never allowed up there (which only made me want to climb up there more >:).
But it was a giant (to me at the time) mound of dirt put over the water tank with the flat stone platform on the top of the dirt, the water tank access on top of it. There were little stepping stones leading up and they, of course, faced the road so the water truck could fill the tank! anyway bc of the road proximity it was yet ANOTHER place I wasn't allowed to go but by GOD did i LOVE IT
3) on the way TO said cottages, there was a little garden/statue store that had a side room called "the secret garden". it was short, but LONG, and had cute little statues with little flowers and stepping stones and was painted very colourfully. i loved going in it and running up and down the room and pretending it was my very own secret garden!!!
4) Niagara-on-the-Lake/St Jacob's are tied for 4th. I love me a little town with shops and markets 🥰🥰🥰
5) numero five is the hill Forth Henry is on at night! Lately when Richard's been having a bad time (breakdown) we go for a lil drivey to the hill and breakdown while staring down at the city. It's nice!!! The ghosts don't even bug us but the random people ALSO on the hill sure do! It's like, y'all, this is OUT breakdown time?? GET BENT
Songs:
okay so these aren't my top five of all time, just my current top 5 atm
Wobble by Patent Pending and Awsten Night (this shit SLAPS)
In the Blood by Darren Kobb and Ashley Barrett
Move by Saint Motel
Ice Storm by Lindsey Stirling
Bang! by AJR
Characters. My GOD. There are so many blorbos and so little time??? Uh. who's been on rotate in me head recently. That ISN'T an OC. b/c let me tell you. Jacqueline has been doing somersaults like you wouldn't BELIEVE all up in there and goes "weeeee!" every time she does one. (in very over the top high pitched voice) MY LIFE IS SOOOooOOOOoooOOO HARD :( (/sarcasm) OKAY. LET ME THINK.
Luci from Disenchantment is a fave. Bean, too! She's so funny! OH MY GOD AND OONA! Deffs the fave side character there lmao. We've made it to Part 4 which is where I stopped watching like 3 episodes in so it'll be exciting to get to part 5. I hear she sees the mermaid again and that's got me SO excited for her 🥰🥰.
Danny himself of Danny Phantom fame. Jack Frost, of course. From tsc3, though I am fond of rotg Jack Frost. But like, in an "I want to protect him and see him engrow" kind of way?????? (if you haven't watched the jenna marbles video involving a comment that was like "you need to water your cermit so he can engrow" you need to. It's hilarious. Very quotable. idk if her videos are still up. but if they are. that ones a good one.)
Korra from Legend of Korra. She is the BAE. UGH. Most character of all time, she's EVERYTHING. I love her SO MUCH. Bolin was a fave from that too! He's just a silly little guy!!!!!
And Peridot from Steven Universe, she's ALSO a funny little guy. Her arc was EVERYTHING to me and I do a pretty alright peridot impression (it's fun to call the husbando a clod and have him cackle bc the peridot voice gets him good >:)
And Oliver Putnam, he's gd hilarious. The ladder bit in yesterday's episode had me cackling like a madwoman!
This is more than 5, but you know what? It's MY ask box and I DO WHAT I WANT!
MEMORIES! AH! Okay here are some top 5:
-i once had a v bad day at home first thing in the morning and got to school sobbing and richard spent the entirety of our homeroom outside the classroom comforting me and it was one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for me 🥰 he is very comforting!! and soft!!!!
-when i saw the very first fanart lmelodie ever did for crystal springs. it was like, the day before richard and i's 9 or 10th anniversary??? and when I saw it I was like HOLY SHIT THAT'S SO SWEET. then more came. and more. and then you messaged me like "whoops, my hand slipped1 here's MILLER'S LAW" and that is a very nice memory that still has me like, heart eyes TO THIS DAY (party city pimp lives in my head rent free)
-when I was 16 we drove from Mississauga, ON all the way to FLORIDA to go to Disney. Halfway there I was SO grumpy, and we were in One of the Carolinas, at a pioneer village kind of thing (which I LOVE, LOVE GOING TO REENACTMENT HISTORY VILLAGES) and my gOD was I grumpy. My dad had the camera and kept trying to get a photo of me being grumpy but every time. EVERY TIME he moved the camera my way I KNEW and would spin about with a big old smile. There's one where I was holding a map with a little hat on and he tried to sneak a photo of grumpy pants Dani and I looked up and did a lil smile and he was like I THOUGHT I HAD YOU and I was like GUESS AGAIN, POPS. that's a fun memory, easily top 5
-Richard's reaction to my dress and everything during our first look! And ALSO his face when I told him in our vows that he's the blaise to my winter. Killed him dead >:) (metaphorically, lol)
-the new year's eve that ana messaged me like, TEN YEARS OR SO AGO asking if she could borrow Jacqueline :3. It was like, kind of an annoying new years eve bc my parents were like NO FUN ALLOWED. SIT HERE WITH US UNTIL THE COUNTDOWN. thankfully, i had a laptop! and yes, the parental units did complain but i had 0 interest in the show leading up to the countdown. Anyway, while sitting and waiting there was a pm on ff dot net from Ana asking about Jacqueline and well, we've been buds since! :)
Thanks for the ask, K! and again, sorry for the delay! Between bday celebrations all weekend, and the work event I did saturday, and then the wallet shenanigans monday, and then the ACTUAL BDAY yesterday, I have not had time to look at this ask UNTIL NOW! BUT I DID NOT FORGET! AH!

Meghan and Krewe sunglasses - a match made in heaven? by u/Mickleborough
Meghan and Krewe sunglasses - a match made in heaven? The recent post about sunglasses maker Krewe featuring Meghan’s sunnies, worn during the Invictus Games, on their Instagram, warranted a little digging. Here’s what I found:- Meghan first wore the ‘Gravier’ sunglasses on their Australia tour in October 2018. She’s sure doing a lot of recycling for this fauxshion show.- At that time Krewe publicised the fact as well.Assuming that Krewe’s 2018 promo hadn’t been sanctioned by Meghan - because the Royal Family doesn’t permit this (but she or her then BFF Jessica Mulroney (who accompanied them on the tour) might’ve done a deal - this is pure supposition) - it’s just as feasible that Meghan had nothing to do with this. But if Meghan’s going to be endorsing Krewe, then it might be interesting to know that, back in 2020, when the BLM movement gained apace, Krewe was accused of not practising its diversity preaching. Krewe claimed to be a New Orleans brand that captured the diversity of the city - yet only 3 of the company’s 60 employers were black: 2 in shops, the third a part-time contractor at HQ.Krewe’s founder Stirling Barrett was also said to be misogynistic and created a toxic workplace:This scenario sounds uncannily familiar.A young female employee claimed:Really rings a bell. This is all taken from a 19 June 2020 article on the NOLA (New Orleans, LA (as in Louisiana) local news) site: archived / unarchived. It has more information. As an aside: The major designer sunglasses - from Ray-Ban to Chanel, Prada to Persol - are manufactured in Italy by the Luxottica Group. Krewe sunglasses are made in Asia. post link: https://ift.tt/U1Q9jW3 author: Mickleborough submitted: September 16, 2023 at 10:28PM via SaintMeghanMarkle on Reddit

Where can I buy Krewe Eyeglasses?
Tumblr media
KREWE sunglasses are appreciated for their luxurious and premium design. From NOLA's multicultural designs to the company's humble Mardi Gras roots, KREWE captures its essence in every pair. In 2013, Stirling Barrett founded KREWE sunglasses from a cart, and just six years later, KREWE launched an optical collection, proving itself to be a visionary "NOLA".
At Holly Eyewear, we are proudly supplying KREWE eyeglasses from their new French Quarter location across the US. You will receive a hard case, cleaning cloth and certificate of authenticity with your purchase.
Holly Eyewear is proud to offer luxury optical glasses and sunglasses. From Cartier frames for men to Cartier glasses for women, we specialize in genuine branded frames with a wide selection of lenses.
KREWE Eyewear is designed and manufactured by talented designers at our New Orleans headquarters. The materials come from Europe and Asia and are hand-assembled by in-house factories before being inspected.
The culture of New Orleans inspires the eccentric design of KREWE glass. However, its new collaborative effort with Reformation keeps Mother Earth at the centre with its first line of biodegradable frames.
Known for its eclectic frame and durable construction, each small frame is crafted with the finest metals, including gold and titanium-plated hardware. These frames will take you from day to night in style.
KREWE glasses are made with shatterproof lenses that provide comprehensive protection from UVA and UVB rays. It also has a scratch-resistant coating to keep it looking like new and an anti-smudge layer to keep your glasses looking shiny. If you lose or damage your KREWE eyeglasses, they'll return them to you because of their mission to "give people Second Chances."
Even if you can't visit the city itself, KREWE's eyewear collections bring the culture of New Orleans to cities across the country. When you come to Holly Eyewear, you can take home a one-of-a-kind piece from this worldwide eccentric brand. Take home a work of art influenced by The Big Easy by purchasing only a pair of KREWE optical wear or sunglasses at Holly Eyewear.
KREWE eyewear takes a more artistic approach to luxury eyewear with a designer that ensures your facial features get perfect coverage and the colours enhance your eyes. We want to offer you our services as soon as possible, so don't hesitate to get in touch with us about what we have to offer--we would love to discuss it with you!
The hallmark of Cartier is high quality and durability, which is showcased in their glasses. Check out Cartier's excellence at Holly Eyewear. Our conveniently located Toronto branch offers a wide selection of luxury eyewear collections - drop by today to see for yourself!

The Champions in the 1970s
Times are a changin' and how do their lives change in the next few years. First I thought about fashion. Will Sharon start wearing her down, even at work (almost no other female character wears hair long and up - it's short or down). Richard seems more fashion-forward than Craig to me (though that could be modern-day-American bias on my part, and I don't actually know much about men's fashion of the era), so will he start growing his hair little longer? Nothing extreme, of course. Will he and Craig wear wide lapels and wide ties? Grow mustaches or beards?
Oh, and politics. The PRC is their frequent enemy on the show, but they get a UN seat in 1971. And they've gotta run short on old Nazi officers sometime or another.
Tremayne has to retire sometime, though my perception of him is a bit younger than his actor, so it doesn't have to be all that soon. A replacement could bring drama. Someone who doesn't trust them or is less willing to ignore their strange reports. Or just wants to change things up and assign them all to different teams.
Do any of them ever have kids? If so, does that mean changing job position so they don't travel so much? Do they all stay in Geneva? Or maybe take jobs in other cities (with or without retiring from Nemesis). Both the UK and the US have some rough times ahead, but maybe home is home. And they seem unlikely to end up on the short end of the stick, economically speaking, given their qualifications. Of course, they've all left their home countries before, so they don't have to settle there ever. And I do like the idea of all three in the same city.

Free Short Stories: Aromantic Recommendations
Aro week is over but I spent it reading aro stories that are entirely accessible online (with their authors' consent) and thought I'd share some with you, as well as some extra resources. I’m going to include under “read more” content warnings and specific details, like the kind of rep included or important notes, so if you want to be sure and safe before reading them, you can click “read more” for all that information, or if you prefer just the blurb, avoid it easily enough. There you will also find the extra links of interest and other masterposts.
Edit: This post used to be split in two parts, I’ve integrated them into one whole post for everyone’s convenience.
1. Nkásht ii by Darcie Little Badger
Josie and Annie set to investigate a strange death that may involve more than they expected. Sometimes the love that heals isn’t romantic and bonds that are strong are those chosen.
2. Hope of the Future by Elizabeth Barrette
In a fantasy setting, a human cleric finds an elf bard and a strong female dwarf, all cast aside for their identities, and create their own home and family. The same characters also appear in another poem that continued their story: The Underground Gardens.
3. Tanith’s Sky by Penny Stirling
Ash is left with the loss of Tanith, after she sacrifices herself to save the world. Tanith's memories resurface in people's minds and Ash has to navigate their identity, their memories and how to label for others’ sake their lost relationship.
4. And If The Body Were Not The Soul by A. C. Wise
Ro is a human who forms an unlikely bond with an alien refugee, discovering a different layer of proximity that doesn't chain to the type of physicality humanity sets. In that process of discovery, Ro learns about the other side of the social oppression in their own city.
5. The Crows Her Dragon’s Gate by Benjanun Sriduangkaew
An exploration of the background and re-telling of the story of the goddess Xihe. Marrying out of the obligation of customs and pressure, this story explores the feelings of Xihe, her relationship with Di Jun and the freedom she ultimately seeks.
6. The Girl Turns West by Darcie Little Badger
Another tale set in Native American culture (the author is a Lipan Apache writer), this story is about family, sacrifice and forms of non romantic love and devotion that transcend the limits of life and death.
7. Kin, Painted by Penny Stirling
The narrator can’t find a place in a family that seems so determined, so certain, painted each in a specific way. A poetic prose filled with magic and the colors that we paint ourselves with, which can sometimes change with time.
8. Cucumber by Penny Stirling
A queerplatonic couple in a fantasy setting deals with social pressure in a story written in poetic verse.
9. The Famine King by Darcie Little Badger
A woman is chased by fear, memories and a being that affects her relationship with her own identity and mental health, while finding refuge in a found family. These characters are also included in a previous story called To Sleep.
10. How My Best Friend Rania Crashed A Party And Saved The World by Ada Hoffman
Emma, a Relator, finds out that her best friend Rania, a World Saver, is being used by her boyfriend and can lose her credibility as a Hero for it, so she enlists a tech-savvy Number Fiend, Deborah, to crash a high school party in a forbidden sector to confront the guy.
11. Unlike Most Tides by Darcie Little Badger
Mathilda is in peace with her solitude until she communicates with energy beyond her understanding and finds the voice of a murdered woman who asks her for help to deal with her killer: her ex boyfriend.
Content Warnings and Extra Details
1. Nkásht íí by Darcie Little Badger
Details: urban fantasy, folklore, suspense, aromantic lead character, main platonic relationship between female characters. CW: minor characters deaths, accidents, the death of a child is mentioned, domestic abuse in flashbacks.
2. Hope for the Future by Elizabeth Barrette
Details: aroace male lead in a poly relationship with a female and male character, fantasy, story in poetry, happy ending. CW: arophobia and acephobia, family abandonment.
3. Tanith’s Sky by Penny Stirling
Details: fantasy, sci fi, drama, hurt/comfort. Main qp relationship between an aroace cis female lead and a non binary allo lead. The aroace lead is dead by the start of the story, which I had my hesitation about, but the story does a wonderful job capturing Tanith’s life in an aftermath of what would be another untold story, as well as Ash’s identity and their relationship, as well as the process of grief and moving forward. CW: major character death, grief, depression, transphobia, arophobia and acephobia.
4. And If The Body Were Not The Soul by A. C. Wise
Details: explicitly touch-averse asexual non binary lead, very likely aromantic (expressed but not named in the text), sci fi, social strife, hurt/comfort, found family and friendship (nb and cis female, nb and alien friendships). Many commenters have expressed that Ro is potentially an autistic character, some autistic authors and reviewers have agreed or disagreed but I couldn’t find whether the author stated that at any point. CW: mild depictions of violence, xenophobia, social issues and unrest, happy ending.
5. The Crows Her Dragon’s Gate by Benjanun Sriduangkaew
Details: the goddess Xihe is depicted as aroace yet marries the god Di Jun for a time in which she lives troubled. Fantasy, mythology, re-interpretations, angst with a happy ending. CW: internalized acephobia and arophobia, dubious consent, violence, animal death, toxic marriage, there is a side wlw couple of mortals who die.
6. The Girl Turns West by Darcie Little Badger
Details: there isn’t romance in the story, the lead character doesn’t seemingly have romance in the future and there is a side female character who explicitly rejects suitors and prefers to live independently yet with her family. Considering that the author has written several aroace characters, I decided to include this one and another story in Part 2 as strong potentials (there is another story by the same author that other sites recommend as aro-representative, but I think these two are a lot less vague). Fantasy, mythology, folklore, bittersweet ending. CW: death mentions, wounds and accidents, blood mentions.
7. Kin, Painted by Penny Stirling
Details: poetic prose, fantasy, aromantic lead character, trans male character, non binary characters.
8. Cucumber by Penny Stirling
Details: fiction in poetry form, queerplatonic relationship in a fantasy setting. CW: arophobia and acephobia, social pressure.
9. The Famine King by Darcie Little Badger
Details: mystery, suspense, horror, folklore, hurt/comfort, angst w/optimistic ending, explicit non romantic & non sexual main relationship between to female characters. CW: blood, wounds, cannibalism mentions, mental illness with hallucination episodes, racism.
10. How My Best Friend Rania Crashed A Party And Saved The World by Ada Hoffman.
Details: high school setting, uplifting, sci fi, aroace lead character in a friendship with a heterosexual girl and a bisexual girl. CW: arophobia by the best friend, which is not confronted or discussed, mentions of racism. Notes: I read this story for the Pride list last year and I didn't include it because I had a bone to pick with Rania's character. The story is fun, a lot more lighthearted than many of the ones here and has a distinct tone that makes it good to include, plus Emma (the lead) is a very friendly, social and well-liked person, rather than the traditional robot/alien foil aro, ace and aroace characters tend to receive. So, even if I'm still uneasy about Rania and how her bad attitude is not acknowledged in the story, I’m still including it for all its perks.
11. Unlike Most Tides by Darcie Little Badger
Details: there is a protagonist who prefers to live in solitude and speaks about it and about her favorable feelings towards it. It isn’t explicitly stated that she is aromantic but, much like The Girl Turns West in Part 1, I’d say it’s a good addition to the list, though it's probably the least explicit of the bunch. Mystery, supernatural, sci fi, suspense, positive ending. CW: murder, corpses, side character death, blood, femicide.
Other masterposts:
@coolcurrybooks's first and second masterpost I consulted
Penny Stirling's recommendation list
LGBTQReads recommendations list
Claudie Arsenault recommendation list
Aro and Ace character database
Aroaessidhe recommendations list
YA Pride masterlist
My own LGBTQ+ free short stories rec list from last year, some of these stories are in it but the majority is not

Bridgerton Series
These books can be read as stand-alones or together as a story arc
Historical Romance
There are sex scenes in each on of them.
Happily Ever After- yk marriage and babies so if thats mot your thing then don’t read it
Despite being set in a historical setting the books emphasise the importance of consent thankfully.
There are a couple of dicey bits in the book series as a whole.
the writing isn’t stellar but its not distractingly bad
The TV show doesn’t follow the books exactly but its still very good. There’s DIVERSITY despite being historical fiction.
Personal recommendation: 16 years old at least, not only because of the sex but I think it may not be best for impressionable people.
Tumblr media

The love story of Eloise Bridgerton and Phillip
Phillip is widowered after his wife commits suicide. For the sake of his two children he decides to remarry. He courts Eloise Bridgerton by letter and eventually she sneaks away to meet him
Marriage of convenience- at first
(theres this one speech at the end that makes me angry at Phillip, it seems in contrast to his character up until that point though in my opinion. Read with caution)
It’s in his kiss
The love story of Hyacinth Bridgerton and Gareth St Clair.
Gareth is given a diary belonging to his grandmother, written in Italian. Hyacinth helps him translate it and they uncover a mystery.
I personally think the best one is ’It’s in his kiss’ The only downside being the ending isn’t as peaceful as the others. I SCREAMED.
On the way to the wedding
The love story of Gregory Bridgerton and Lucinda Abernathy
Wingwoman
love triangle- ish
