Lords and Ladies, you are cordially invited to see in 2023 with a Stonecastle New Year Eve Royal Ball. We expect to see the highest of fashion, the fanciest ballgowns and don’t forget your crown. A royal feast, an open bar, and a live band will all be provided so you can waltz the night away or simply sit back and enjoy the music. Bring a date or come alone, who knows what will happen at midnight? Could you find your happily ever after? Rumour has it what happens at the ball, stays there.

The event will run 31st December - 1st January 2023, however due to timezone fee free to start threads for the event from 30th December 2022 - 2nd January 2023. It is not compulsory for your character to attend the party but we would love for you all to be there! This is an adult only event therefore kids will not be permitted to attend.

GUY FAWKES DAY/ BONFIRE NIGHT/ GUN POWER DAY

In 1603, King James I took the throne in England. An avid Protestant, he began persecuting Catholics in the country. He forbid Catholics from practicing their religion, and punished Catholics who did not convert to the Protestant church.

The Gunpowder Conspirators were a group of Catholics who sought to take action against the king. They plotted to blow up the British Houses of Parliament. They planned to do so, when the king and his supporters were in the buildings. Their plot was uncovered on November 5, 1605. Thirty six barrels of gunpowder were found in the basement of Parliament. Guy Fawkes, the leader of the conspiracy, was arrested and tortured until he confessed. He was arrested just as he was about to ignite the gunpowder.

How do people in England celebrate Guy Fawkes Day? They do so, with fireworks and bonfires.
