Critical thinking lectures:
How has lifestyle, industrial & social changes impacted fashion & textiles?
In today’s lecture we gained understanding of what has influenced and impacted fashion and textiles in the past, in order to predict what will happen to the fashion and textiles industries in the future.
We started by exploring historical aspects that have driven these changes, to start to interpret the significance that these influential factors will play on the future of the fashion & textile industries.
We watched a video on YouTube called “100 years of fashion: women” Published on 3 jun 2015. Were we discussed as a group what drives these changes.
Tumblr media
The growth of the fashion industry, caused by the industrial revolution (1870-1900s) enabled the suffragettes to use fashion as a form of branding to help promote their cause.
“They are, of course, only following in the honourable tradition set over a century ago by the suffragettes, who harnessed fashion, and the meaning of colour, as methods of communication in the early days of photography. In 1908 Emmeline Pethick-Lawrence devised the scheme of purple for dignity, white for purity and green for hope - branding for the cause, which triggered Liberty and Selfridges to start selling ranges of tricolour ribbon, underwear, bags and soap. Christina Broom…documented marches of thousands of suffragists and suffragettes wearing white dresses designed to prove to the country the dignity of their cause.”

“Make Do and Mend was a pamphlet issued by the British Ministry of Information in the midst of WWII. It was intended to provide housewives with useful tips on how to be both frugal and stylish in times of harsh rationing. With its thrifty design ideas and advice on reusing old clothing, the pamphlet was an indispensable guide for households. Readers were advised to create pretty ‘decorative patches’ to cover holes in warm garments; unpick old jumpers to re-knit chic alternatives; turn men’s clothes into women’s; as well as darn, alter and protect against the ‘moth menace’.

The “New Look” exploded in Paris in 1947 (in contrast to the utilitarian approach adopted in the war) lead by the pioneering designer Christian Dior, who empowered women through fashion.
“Throughout the war, cloth and labour shortages had limited the amount of fabric and trimming that could be used… jackets had been masculine, shoulders square and skirts short and straight… belts, seams, collars and trouser turn-ups had to conform to certain restrictions …” Yet, only two years after the end of the war, here were ankle-length skirts whose hems measured up to 40 metres in circumference. Here was a fashion that emphasised femininity, with rounded shoulders, waists nipped in tight, and hips and busts exaggerated by bodices and padding.
The New Looks striking stylistic legacy lived on well into the 1960s.

”Women, with their sure instincts, realized that my intention was to make not just more beautiful but also happier,” said Dior: A businessman as well as a poet, he made fashion responsible for expressing society's desires, and  showed it how to communicate…” ref book Dior

Working in groups based on the following decades: 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. In our group we researched fashion in the 2000s. We made a mind map that considered the above influencing factors that have impacted on the fashion designers from this decade. We recorded the effect of these causes and how they have driven the design, materials and production at this time.
2000s Fashion:
Casual clothing and leisurewear were big trends in the early 2000s, a casual look for women would have been, crop tops, hoodies, low-rise flared jeans, cargo pants, daisy dukes, jean skirts, off the shoulder tops, ribbed sweaters, with platform sandals, ugg boots, or sneakers.
After researching I found technology and Y2K bug (problem in the coding of computerized systems that was projected to create havoc in computers and computer networks around the world at the beginning of the year 2000) had a huge impact on fashion in the early 2000s. The colour palette was full of shiny black tones and reflective metallics. The Y2K trend was worn on a daily but mainly reserved for going out. Popular outfits for women included mesh or handkerchief tops, box-pleated or leather skirts, shiny pants, and sparkly shoes. Britney Spears was a trendsetter for this type of style. For men, Y2K looks involved leather jackets, a statement dress shirt, and chunky shoes.
Tumblr media
Mid 2000s fashion - Fashion started to take cues from 1960s bohemian looks. Yoga pants, low-rise jeans, cowl-neck shirts, peasant tops, capri pants, cropped jackets, and dresses over jeans was a popular outfit choice for women. These outfits were paired with accessories, such as, chunky belts, aviator sunglasses, jelly bracelets, ties worn around the neck or as belts, ballet flats, and platform boots. The 1960s revival looks were also popular with men. Including light wash bootcut jeans, cargo shorts, classic rock t-shirt, fitted cowboy shirts, henleys, polos with popped collars, and seersucker suits.
Tumblr media
Late 2000s fashion - For women, crop tops were replaced with camisoles and miniskirts, bubble skirt, and sweater dresses. There was also a 1980s and 1990s revival of neon colours, animal prints, geometric shapes, light denim jeggings, and ripped acid washed jeans that were worn with gladiator sandals, ballet flats, and headbands. The oversized look became popular, but it was more subtle than the traditional 80s fit. Men’s late 2000s fashion was a mix of 1950s and 1980s throwbacks, with letterman and black leather jackets, overcoats, slim cut jeans, Ed Hardy t-shirts, flannel shirts, and V-neck sweaters. Paired with dad hats, wayfarers or aviators, motorcycle boots, converse, vans, or sneakers.
Tumblr media
Hip-Hop had a influence on the 2000s fashion, many rappers influenced fashion with their own clothing lines. Including Jay-Z, Diddy, Nelly, and 50 Cent. Many looks included baggy jeans, tall t-shirts, sports jerseys, velour suits, bubble jackets, and puffer vests paired with headbands, sweatshirts, Timberland boots, and sneakers like Adidas Superstars or Nike Air Force 1s.
Tumblr media
Streetwear is brand focused casual clothing, like jeans, tees, and sneakers. In the late 2000s popular streetwear styles included distressed skinny jeans, loose fitting tops, loose or fitted tracksuits, track pants, hoodies, graphic t-shirts, vintage thrift shop tees, and Tommy Hilfiger and U.S. Polo Assn brands. Sneakers were an important part of the style, retro Nike Air Jordans and Adidas Yeezys.
Tumblr media
Emo fashion became popular in the mid 2000s and took cues from goth and punk styles. Outfits were often all or mainly black with skinny jeans, band t-shirts, studded belts, and checkered vans. Every emo look was completed with the right hairstyle, choppy cuts with long side-swept bangs dyed black, platinum blonde, or a bright colour.
Tumblr media
Athleisure Wear - If you wanted to be comfortable yet fashionable in the early 2000s the velor tracksuits was the go to. Britney Spears, Beyonce and Eminem to Diddy were on on the tracksuit craze. They were brightly coloured and emblazoned with rhinestone logos and phrases. It was also in to mix track pants with dress clothing and design shoes to elevate the look.
Tumblr media
The Beatles were one of the most influential bands in history, taking their fans on a journey of fashion styles through the decades from rock to teddy boys to hippie years.

In the 1980s Power Dressing in the UK grew from a new money focused generation, in London, creating a bee style. This look was patented by shows such as Dynasty and Dallas, where actors such as Joan Collins and Linda Evans dressed as female power dresses. Shoulder-pads and sharply tailored suits ruled and has been continued to be used by women today to signify power.

THATCHER USED FASHION AS A POLITICAL TOOL
“With ‘power dressing’ she could tap into the image of a career woman but her reputation as a fierce leader then drove her to wear clothes that might ‘soften’ her image, which was why she wore pussy bow blouses. A symbol of the past reflecting a more conservative femininity, the pussy bow blouse clashed with the aggressive power suits. “This was the paradox of the Thatcher image: at once she sought to embody conservative values while also seeking to assert her right to power as a woman. Dr Tyan”

My own research on Margaret Thatcher -
When looking at pictures of Margaret Thatcher, after the election in 1979, a well-dressed woman with her individual style is clearly shown. She began to create her image and appearance as an example of how women in power should dress. Thatcher was a confident and stern business woman however there was a clear contrast to the feminine clothing she wore. She used her clothing and style as an act of self - definition that disguised herself from others showing her individual identity as Prime Minister. Thatcher styled herself appropriately for political occasions, the most occuring colour Thatcher wore was royal blue. With her power suits and the legendary pussybow blouses, that made her a fashion icon, she was known for her haircut, her pearls, and her handbag. Her hairstyle was one of the famous features of Margaret Thatcher, as straight and precise as the lady herself.
One great example on how her style, outfits and political power were set together was before she became Prime Minister. Thatcher wore hats because not only they suited her well but were symbols of her status and class. As the leader of a major political party, her hats seemed to be a political problem. It was a problem because middle class people with conventional attitudes were prejudiced towards her. This was not the picture of a leader the party wanted to draw. Consequently, after her election to British Prime Minister she only wore hats for State ceremonies and foreign tours but not on polictail occasions anymore.

Brand Report
In groups we researched information about the brand Lazy Oaf, we created a detailed report which covers each of the 8 elements that make a band pitch. These elements include: Vision & purpose, brand identity, customer, price, product, place, promotion and  packaging. In our group we decided to each choose an element to research and talk about, I picked promotion.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lazy Oaf’s Brand Identity is definitely something I would take away and incorporate into our brand. We want to create personal products that our customers love and respect. Minimize environmental hazards through being sustainable but with fair prices. We also discussed as a group giving back to charities with a percentage of money we make as a brand.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This group task gave us practice with working together, assigning roles and discussing information online. We decided to split the work fairly so that everyone had an equal amount of work to research and present. As we had to present this group task to our peers it helped us practice for when we present our brand.

Web development: WordPress or HTML.This will help you decide!
Tumblr media
Because of the advancement of new platforms like WordPress, Wix and many others, web development services are growing at a rapid pace.
No doubt these are some Amazing platforms and easy to learn and easy to work with and with that as it is expanding very fast, the main question that arrives is: Are HTML and CSS still required?
Should a person still consider learning and implementing HTML and CSS when there are other platforms available to you?
So in this article, I'll be sharing the pros and cons of both HTML, CSS and WordPress.
I'm going to jot down all the points in front of you so that you can decide what suits your needs and what path should you take?
Alright, so let's discuss these platforms first if you're a complete beginner and you don't know much about these platforms, but you can have a fair idea what you're getting into.
Web development: WordPress (Content management system )
WordPress was founded on May 27 2003, It powers many big websites for many big companies.
It is a completely free tool where you can design your website in a drag-and-drop manner.
You don't need any programming knowledge, Anyone can take advantage of it.
Now you might ask what type of websites you can build using WordPress? You can build websites for businesses, e-commerce website, blogs, portfolio, resumes, forums and social networking sites and anything you would want to and think of.
Types of WordPress ( website development )
There are two types of WordPress :
1.wordpress.com
2.wordpress.org
Now let's talk about HTML and CSS.
HTML and CSS : website development
HTML was first initially discovered and founded by Tim Barnes lee in 1980 and then after a few years in 1994 CSS was introduced by hakam.
HTML is responsible for the content of the website and the structure of the website.
CSS is responsible for the design and layout of the website like all the colours, fonts, shapes and everything.
Each object has to be placed using CSS.
So CSS is a powerful tool because it helps you elevate your website, you can change the entire field and look of your website using CSS.
The main problem is that it needs coding knowledge.
You need to learn both languages HTML and CSS.
Now let's talk about the pros and cons of these two things.
PROS and CONS of these web development platforms:
WordPress being an easy platform saves you from the learning to
code in different languages, because it is an easy and free tool which you can download on your system and you can start building from it.
You can design and make it look as you want it and you don't need any coding experience or any coding background you can simply start right away you can just go right now to WordPress and you can start building your website and also if your client is okay with it then start using these platforms.
So first get it straight with your client, that if your client wants you to make a website using WordPress or Wix.
Because a lot of times clients want something to be made entirely from scratch with their thinking in mind because they have something thought off for their business or their brand.
You need to first contact them and first clarify with them that are you, okay using WordPress or Wix to make your website.
Using HTML and CSS,
You can build your website from scratch and have your database to it.
you can add more features to it
you can do what you want to, how you want to and you will not be limited by any of the features.
In HTML and CSS, you can have your themes and design and feel to your website.
On the other hand, this is time-consuming, because building everything from scratch, placing everything and learning everything is going to be very time-consuming.
You might want to jump to WordPress, because using WordPress you can build a website in less than an hour like I'm not even kidding you can go over to youtube you have so many tutorials on how to do it and you can start building right away, you will be done in less than an hour.
The most important point which is most overlooked is that you don't have any control over your website's data and which is the most important thing I believe because a user coming to your website is trusting you with their data and if they're putting in their credentials and everything they will expect that it stays safe and private.
Using WordPress or Wix or any of these platforms you don't know where your data is going.
You are using the database but you don't know where the data is.
on the other hand, if you're making it using HTML and CSS you will be learning MySQL then you will know your data is in your control on your local servers.
Because a user's data is very important especially in an e-commerce website.
If anything goes wrong, you might end up losing all the data and if you have it locally stored on your system using the database you will know where your data is going and you will have it saved with you.
I think WordPress is better for a vast majority because nowadays the world is moving very fast and every small business and startup is looking for a website because everyone needs to shift online, you cannot have things offline now and with that advancement of these platforms like WordPress, Wix, Shopify you can make your websites on your own and start your business right away and this is something very good
you can start anytime and anywhere, they already have a lot of themes available to you, a lot of features available and you can take the most advantage from it.
However, I also feel like HTML and CSS are there to stay for a good amount of years.
Because no matter how many themes and features they introduce they won't be able to compare that with the comfortability and controllability, you get out of coding.
you get a sense of satisfaction that you're able to do this on your own you're learning a new skill
Also at the same time, you have control over everything which is exactly what I would prefer if I was making my website so if you're a beginner then you can use WordPress and Wix and get a website and start it and then learn from it.
If you're already into computer science and if you want to learn how all of these things are happening on the back end and you want to learn and build on your own then you can learn HTML and CSS as well these are not very difficult languages and these are very simple to get a hold on and learn.
I was also able to learn HTML CSS in three months so it won't take much of your time as well.
I've put all of these points in front of you so that now you can make a decision on your own.
If you want to take WordPress if you want to take HTML and CSS route you can do that as well and if you have any questions still and if you're stuck anywhere in between and if you want to know anything about these platforms in more depth let me know in the comments below.
Also, If you want to hire a web development company for your work, you can get in contact  with origin software
Thank you.

Unlike the desktop computer world where each IDE tries to do whatever as well as come to be bloated, I forecast the online IDE market will be fragmented as well as targeted for specific niche usage situations. Today, every tool that you had actually previously used is readily available in the cloud. IDEs although greatly utilized by the developers, had been a little bit difficult to establish for the cloud, but it is taking place. This will be very helpful if you wish to practice calling API telephone calls.

FOR EXAMPLE, I USE IT WHEN I GET CLOSE TO A DEADLINE
They could sing campfire songs in the classes so long as there is no correlation between their ages and how well they're doing. We had the opportunity to raise a lot more play in it. This is probably what Eric Raymond meant about Lisp making you a better programmer. A friend of mine who knows nearly all the widely used languages uses Python for most of his projects. If all you have to choose between bad high schools and good universities, like most other industrialized countries the US is a particularly valuable thing when the atmosphere around you encourages you to do something very simple, like number crunching or bit manipulation, you may as well do what he asks, because he was one of the biggest obstacles to creating startups in Europe is the attitude toward employment. How advantageous it is to buy stock in growing companies as opposed to real estate, or bonds, or stocks bought for the dividends they pay. But for every startup like that, and they all basically said Cambridge followed by a url. It's not as if you couldn't get anything done unless there was someone with the corresponding job title. But angel investors like big successes too. Performance Between December 10 2002 and January 10 2003 I got about 1750 spams. If not, you're in trouble.
Both statements were true, but that's not the way to win is to race ahead, not to stop and think about that. All products should be considered experiments, and those that you decide, from afar, are going to be hard to get fired. Though I can't off the top of my head think of any examples, I am pretty sure that the notation is not the usual one, which applies even when you know which basket is best. But it is not so much the day to day management. In fact, that's an advantage. When we switch to the point where you can't help but hear all the cutting-edge tech and startup news, and run into useful people constantly. And so we changed direction to focus on that. Somehow it's as if most places were sprayed with startupicide.
For example, if I could give an example of a great hacker how good he is, he's almost certain to be wrong in some way, and even so I didn't get to macros until page 160. Sometimes, in desperation, competitors would try to introduce features that we didn't have. When a piece of ground that no one comes and arrests you if you don't do everything you're supposed to when starting a company to live off its revenues. The ones who keep going are driven by something else. In hacking, this can literally mean saving up bugs. If I were going to start a new company using Lisp. How do you figure out what customers want. NPR values, you can't tell from his portfolio. If you ever end up running a company, but startups especially, because startups have the least time to spare for bureaucratic hassles. But remember that ramen profitability is that a dollar from them is worth one dollar. It's easy to be drawn into imitating flaws, because they're big consumer brands. So one way to build great software is to start startups, because students don't feel they're failing if they don't go into research.
The groups then proceeded to ruin the company. Mistake number four. Spams full of html are easy to filter. There's no way around it: anyone who could get rich by creating wealth. You can convince yourself, then convince them. Politicians are caught between a rock and a hard place here, however: make the capital gains rate low and be accused of creating tax breaks for the rich, or make it high and starve growing companies of investment capital. If you know you're on the right track, then you get a couple million dollars from a VC firm, you tend to hear for learning Latin. I found that what hacking meant to them was implementing software, not deal with customers' mundane problems. A guilty pleasure is at least a pure one. If smaller source code is the purpose of high-level language, and computers speak whatever language you want. Why? Like a company whose software runs on Windows, those in the current filter, free in the Subject line has a spam probability of Act is 98% and for act only 62%.
A fellow would be walking along a street and suddenly modality qua modality would spring upon him. Needless to say, my imitations didn't say anything either. But the problem with scraps of paper I could find. I don't think the amount of work you have to take these cycles into account, because they're affected by how you react to them. Could you have both at once, or does there have to be really good at seeming formidable is that it's still so poor. Professional athletes know they'll be pulled if they play badly for just a couple games. What you really want to do it mainly to help the poor, you have to be better than it would be hard to translate that into another language, but I think hiring people is the worst sort of strip development. The hard part, obviously, is when what you have to push down on the top?
The lesson: don't pick cofounders who will flake. If you have a choice of doing good work, not something you work despite. The problem is, if you think in Cobol. This is the thing that has surprised me most about YC founders' experiences. Perl may look like a magazine. In fact, the reason the best PR firms are so effective is precisely that they aren't dishonest. But the importance of encouraging startups.
Metrics Small in what sense though? Ramen profitable means a startup makes just enough to pay the bills. That's probably why everyone else has been overlooking the idea. Taking money from the poor, or they stop going well surprisingly fast. As long as our hypothetical Blub programmer wouldn't use either of them. And PR firms give them what they want. The token Url optmails meaning optmails within a url occurs 1223 times. Work for us, the premise was, and we'll give you a place to think in rather than just to tell a computer what to do without understanding how to do it by changing the world. But the problem then is, you have to overcome in order to put technical barriers between us and our competitors. Back in 1995, we knew something that I don't think it's a good idea to treat spam filtering as a straight text classification problem. If you get bored with, or can't understand, or don't agree with one point, no problem: it won't kill the essay.
Now for the really shocking news: during that same one-month period I got three false positives. At our startup we had Robert Morris working as a system administrator. It might be hard to translate that into another language, but I learned, without realizing it at the time was that the hypothesis we were testing seems to be spreading. Maybe because the suit was also back in February, September 2004, June 2004, March 2004, September 2003, November 2002, April 2002, and February 2002. You'll also have a provisional roadmap of how to succeed. When I was a philosophy major in college. In this case we get three: the NPD Group, the creative director of GQ. They all know about the stuff they've invested in. The simplest way would be to say that to Japanese or Europeans it would seem like something out of the way, and your first priority should be to figure out why. Even other hackers have a hard time convincing the pointy-haired boss to let you build things in Lisp, we'd be able to carry it off. If Hewlett and Packard tried running an electronics company out of their garage in Switzerland, the old lady next door would report them to the end of 1996, we hired a PR firm I had no idea how it works.

maybe 1 or 2
22. Do you like shopping?
OHHHHHHH HECK YEAAAAAAAAAH,, i seriously think I have an addiction because i always wanna go shopping and I constantly want new clothes or go to the mall in general. and even if I dont get anything at the mall I like to try on different outfits and take pictures in them
23. What countries have you visited?
Well I didn’t really visit these countries but I did live in them,, China and the US
24. Scariest nightmare you’ve ever had?
literally every one of my dreams I remember is a nightmare lmao
I mean this dream isn’t really scary because it didn’t scare me that much,,
(BUT IM GONNA PUT A WARNING RIGHT HERE BECAUSE I DID TALK ABOUT BLOOD SO IF YOURE UNCOMFORTABLE WITH IT SCROLL PAST THIS PART NOW)
it was around when I was 8 years old. it was in my old house, and I was sleeping in my room and I woke up alone on my giant king size bed (yeah I used to sleep with my mom for a while because our room arrangements got messed up) nobody was home because I didn’t hear any sounds, but i saw on the wall that was next to me was starting to drip blood. I wanted to go out of my room to see what was going on, so I stepped out and saw the house was empty, and all i heard was loud dog barking noises. I was terribly afraid of dogs so i ran back into my room and yeah the blood was still dripping but i woke up right then
25. Any enemies?
oOps I have too many of them. I’m the kind of person who kinda knows what I want from a friendship, and also knows what I don’t want. So if I see anyone who has any of those traits I dont want I end my friendship with them right then and there. and if someone who i see is being rude, then I just remember who they are and never try to be around them ever
26. Do you have a significant other?
nope and probably never will :’)))))
27. Do you get along with your family?
for the most part yeah, I mean my parents and I argue once in a while over something stupid and I'll just avoid them for like 2 days to a week. but my siblings and I are super well now especially because they all posted something about us on national siblings day when I thought they wouldn't lmao

Web Design V/S Web Development
Web designer mostly does the very important job of conceptualizing and creating a website. They need to consider the visuals of the site being referred to. While likewise keeping things like usefulness and client involvement. The most important part of the things that a website specialist needs to think about when they're assembling a diagram for a site include.
Current design trends. Design trends are constantly changing, and it ’s important to stay up to date with the latest ones so that your new website doesn’t look old or outdated.
The target audience. For example, the website that a designer would put together for an audience of rebellious teenagers would be completely different to a website that is targeted at middle-aged travelers.
What sort of things the website is designed for. Different design features can trigger different reactions from visitors. A web designer needs to be aware of the purpose of the website that they’re designing,     and they need to make sure that they include the necessary elements.
These are some of the main roles of a web designer-
1.     Using software tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or Sketch to build the final layout to design the website.
2.     Have good skills in graphic design and logo design.
3.     Have a good understanding for user experience.
4.     To identify the simplest approach possible to attain the desired function. This includes the layout, buttons, images and the general format of the website.
When it comes to building a new website, the web designer is usually responsible for the first steps. Along with conceptualizing and putting together a design for a website, a web designer might also use graphic design software to create images, elements, and logos. By now you should have a pretty good idea of the answer to “What is web design?”, so I’ll move straight on to “What is web development?”
A web developer is an individual who is in charge of taking a website specialist's ideas. They can convert any components they have made and transforming it into a completely working intelligent site. Much of the time, this includes a great deal of coding. Yet a few designers work with stages like WordPress or Wix, which implies that they just need constrained coding learning. There are three distinct kinds of web engineers who have marginally unique jobs.
Here are some of the main roles of a web developer:
 1. Building the actual interface through which a user interacts with the website.
2. The interface is built by front-end developers using HTML, CSS, and JS languages.
3. Front-end developers can use styling preprocessors. Like JavaScript libraries, and frameworks to fasten the process of development.
4. Front-end developers provide essential support to back-end developers. So they can implement a dynamic website, and submit all the required data on the server and databases.
I hope you now have a clearer understanding of the difference between the roles of web developers and web designers. Remember that both have basic jobs, and the web would not exist without either. Simply remember that concentrating on one language at first is simply the most ideal approach to begin. When you get persuaded and venture out, rest will be to a lesser degree a test.

Angular vs React vs Vue: Which JS framework is better?
Tumblr media
Compare the performance, maintainability, learning curve, and use cases of Angular vs React to see which one best matches your needs. Which is better for web development: React.js or Angular? Because our engineers have considerable experience with both tools, we've chosen to throw some light on the ‘React or Angular?' debate. Here's what we'll talk about: We'll also go through which framework and how it helps us save development time (and therefore cost).
What is React JS and how does it work?
React is a Facebook-developed Javascript framework that allows you to create user interface components. It makes it easier to create interactive user interfaces. It also makes the code simpler to comprehend and execute. To provide a customizable, performance-oriented solution, the React Javascript framework employs server-side rendering.
What exactly is Angular?
Angular is a typescript-based programming framework. It's a component-based framework for creating highly scalable web applications. It comes with a number of well-integrated libraries and functionalities, including client-server communication, routing, and more. It comes with a set of developer tools that may be used to create and expand projects ranging from single-developer to enterprise-grade systems.
Comparison between Angular and React
Angular is a Typescript-based Javascript framework, whereas Reactjs is a JSX-based Javascript library. Angular is typically used to create complicated enterprise-grade apps such as single-page apps and progressive web apps, whereas React is typically used to create UI components in apps with regularly changeable data. React's Key Features - Allows you to utilise libraries from other people. - Simplicity and composeability save time. - Facebook is fully behind you. - Improved user experience and lightning-fast speed. - One-directional data binding allows for faster development and code stability. - Components in React Angular's Key AJAX, HTTP, and Observables are all built-in. There is widespread support in the community. In line with current technologies Typescript is time-saving. Coding that is more clear and concise Error-handling support has been improved. Validation and seamless changes with Angular CLI Forms Separation of Business Logic and Shadow DOM / local CSS UI
Performance Angular vs React
Angular In the event of sophisticated and dynamic web projects, Angular performs poorly. Bidirectional data-binding has a detrimental impact on the performance of Angular apps. Each binding is given a watcher to keep track of changes, and the loop is repeated until all of the watchers and related values have been verified. As a result, the more bindings you have, the more watchers you'll get, making the task more difficult. React With the advent of the virtual DOM, React's speed has considerably improved. The burden on the browser is minimised since all virtual DOM trees are lightweight and generated on the server. Furthermore, unlike Angular, the data-binding process is unidirectional, thus bindings are not given observers. There is no additional workload produced in this case.
Language Angular vs React
Tumblr media
Angular Angular supports JavaScript and TypeScript, which is a superset of JS designed for bigger applications. TypeScript is smaller than JavaScript, the code is simpler to read, and mistakes are more obvious. The process of refactoring code also gets easier and faster. React React is built with JavaScript ES6+ and JSX language. JSX is a syntactic extension that transforms JavaScript code into HTML-like syntax. This makes the code easier to comprehend, and mistakes are more easily identified. React is enhanced using Babel, a code translation tool, to allow JSX code to be compiled in a browser. UI Components Angular vs React
Tumblr media
Angular The Material toolkit in Angular includes a range of pre-built material design components. The buttons, layouts, indications, pop-ups, and form controls are all different. As a result, UI setup is made easier and quicker. React React UI utilities are created by the community. The React site has a variety of free and premium UI components. To utilise material design components in React, you'll need to install the Material-UI Package & Dependencies library. What are the Pros and Cons of Angular technology? Let’s take a closer look at the benefits and drawbacks of Angular technology.  Advantages of AngularDisadvantages of AngularIt offers security features and better server performance. It gives thorough documentation and efficient testing. It speeds up the development process. It is simple to maintain.Learning is difficult. It works at a sluggish pace. It comprises a variety of structures. Its SEO skills are restricted. Deployment Speed In terms of Angular technology, it is the most difficult framework for total deployment, whereas React technology offers a flexibility compromise. Vue technology, as opposed to Angular and React, enabling development teams to swiftly deliver applications without sacrificing speed. We've put up a table that compares Angular vs React. Let's have a look at the specifics below! Which one should you learn: Angular or React?
I get what you're thinking: learning anything from the bottom up may be daunting, especially if you don't have a strong support system in place. Don't worry, I was in the same boat. Dealing with a component-based architecture was initially difficult for me because I had never dealt with one before. Nonetheless, when I began to comprehend it and delved more into it, it became far simpler and more basic than I had anticipated. It was clear that some study was required before deciding which framework to utilize first. Warning: I'm going to start using React. We'll get to it in a second, but first, let's look at Angular. Which is more enjoyable to work with: Angular or React? Is it enjoyable to work with Angular? Angular offers extensive documentation and numerous built-in capabilities, allowing you to create sophisticated apps without the need for third-party packages. It does, however, have a significantly steeper learning curve, resulting in a longer ramp-up period. Because TypeScript features a syntax that is comparable to that of classic statically typed OOP languages like C++, C#, or Java, programmers who come from those languages may find it easier to work with Angular. Is it enjoyable to work using React? I certainly had a better experience creating in React than in Angular, given its simplicity and the syntax of JSX (which I like). Despite the fact that to develop a sophisticated application with React, you must learn a lot of third-party packages (which may be tedious) and the documentation is considerably shorter, it is of high quality and includes a lot of examples. Developers prefer to React as one of their favorite frameworks, according to a 2019 Stackoverflow poll, owing to its shorter learning curve. Which is the better Angular vs React? In terms of single-page apps, both React and AngularJS are excellent choices. However, these are two very distinct instruments. There may be claims that React is superior to Angular or vice versa. Whatever your perspective on the React Vs. AngularJS debate is, you must make decisions based on your functional and usability requirements. Conclusions Before we come to any conclusion we need to keep in mind that there is no best framework or library. Choosing a framework or library completely depends on your project level, requirements, and your goals. Every framework or library has some pros and cons, same with React and Angular. From the above factors if you are a beginner or have less coding practice also if you want stability for your project you can go with React because its learning curve is fast and easier also job in the market is higher than in Angular. It might be frustrating if you are choosing Angular because after every 6 months you will experience major upgrades for Angular. Another thing is if you want a full-blown framework to build a large-scale project and love to follow straight forward coding strategy then go with Angular. Read the full article

How much time Does it Take to End Up Being a Mean Load Programmer?
A Cross-Platform database, One of the best features is extra versatile and too scalable. It saved knowledge in JavaScript Object Notation primarily based question expression. This course might be very hands-on and would require college students to perform varied programming actions similar to building an entire location-aware internet application. We will use the technologies learned in this course to design and develop a private project.
Which is better react or angular?
Angular ensures that data is always sync at all levels, with the two-way data binding, that contrasts with one-way data binding of React. React has an easier learning curve, so the ramp-up time is much shorter. React offers a better mobile cross-platform framework solution than Angular.
The lessons are straight to the point to make sure no time is wasted. On average MEAN Stack 2.zero students end the course in 4-months and enter the workforce afterwards. In this lesson, you will be putting every thing together for the entire MEAN Stack from scratch and create two totally different construct process with Webpack. You will discover ways to outline a template, and modify a template that interacts with Angular built in metadata. Modules are an enormous deal in Angular, you can't do anything without Modules. You will be taught to see how modules use components, directives, pipes, providers and external modules.
You will be taught all of the four technologies and creating applications with them within the angular and nodejs courses. This is an intermediate degree course and learners are expected to have a fundamental working information of HTML, CSS and JavaScript. In a nutshell, full stack web development includes creating internet and mobile functions from start to finish. Thus, Full stack makes net developers a priceless asset to their firm. and gOD do you hate this method you have because what the heck you’re a fashion and design major
your whole life you’ve been working with clothes in black and white and shades of gray and you had to bust your ass to get into the top university in seoul for fashion
whatever mythical being it was that gave you this curse basically said a massive fuck you to your hopes and dreams like rip
in middle and high school you would literally people-watch in different areas and different cities to meet your soulmate
actually you didn’t give a fuck about who your soulmate was you just wanted to see color and work with it to produce high quality works
and end the shitty friend moments when you’re shopping with your pals and they go “hey should i get the blue shirt or the red one”
you: oh i don’t know andrea i think the slightly darker shade of fucking gray looks nicer
andrea: :DD
SO one weekend you’re looking around some stores in this mall and searching for inspiration for your next piece
and everything’s okay and in black and white as usual when suddenly you saw this??? strange shade???????? not in black or white???????
you’re SHOOK and immediately just start darting your eyes everywhere
and finally when your eyes land on a person at the men’s section of the store a burst of saturation and color splashes in front of you
and everything seems to have just...come to LIFE
you’re shaking because everything you see now feels like a new experience....colors that you can’t identify are everywhere you turn and you’re so EXCITED to learn the names of each
you turn to your “soulmate” person with tears ready to fall but suddenly
you: oh my sweet baby jesus
you: can his fashion sense be aNY SH I TT I E R
your jaw is like on the FLOOR and you’re absolutely appalled by the young man looking through some sweatshirts
in your mind you’re furiously criticizing all the choices he’s made and making
you: why in the world would he pair that shirt with that vest
you: sweetheart that is one hell of a stupid hat you’re staring at
you: is he actually serious about picking that vest
you: what in the world did i ever do to deserve this
you’re fuming at this point and you’re ready to either stomp over and hit him on the head to get his senses back into place or walk away and pretend the meeting never happened
but then he turns around and sees you and when his eyes widen you know there’s no turning back
also you realize he’s really cute so
he walks over all shy with a hand rubbing the back of his neck and a suppressed smile to hide how excited he really is
he says “so....i guess.....we’re soulmates?” with pink steaming cheeks
it takes you like a few seconds to get over how utterly cute that was and the you’re like “yes. and your outfit is a disaster. how dare you.”
and that snaps jihoon out of his bashfulness and he’s just?? excUSE ME???? what the heck do you mean my shirt is suPER cute thank you very much
and you’re like SWEETHEART the design on that thing is utterly atrocious it doesn’t match your face at ALL
and that’s how you and your soulmate got into a huge argument in the middle of the store with ppl staring and taking pics
a few minutes later a middle aged man comes over and taps jihoon’s shoulder and says hey we gotta go you can’t stay here and act like this
jihoon glares at you before he turns around and leaves and you’re just HUFFS i hope i don’t see that kid ever again........
literally two hours later you friends spam your phone with articles about “Wanna One’s Park Jihoon’s Intense Argument With Mysterious Person”
you’re on the verge of crying after realizing you bickered with a massively popular idol and your friends are like “what kind of flowers do you want us to leave at your grave”
you couldn’t focus on anything for a week straight and you’re so scared of stepping outside and having people recognize you so you started wearing masks and sunglasses all the time
it hurt your fashion common sense to wear sunglasses while it was raining but you were too terrified
but good thing was!!! you learned the names of all the colors you could and developed this habit of differentiating even the slightest shade like “that’s not just bLUE that’s cornflower blue with a tint of turquoise on the lower right”
it would only be a matter of time before you start addressing colors by their html code name lmfao
anyways your friends are recognize that your works are becoming a lot better and the color mixing seem smoother and more elegant than before
they ask you if it's because you met your soulmate and beg you to introduce him but you know that they’d lose their shit and fall on their ass laughing if you tell them it’s actually the park jihoon you accused of having disgusting taste
you actually feel really sorry....like however much you hated the way he dressed you shouldn't have criticized him like that man
you start researching him online and you get really interested because damn he has such a nice face
in your head you could conjure so many different combinations of outfits that could work fantastically with him
a few weeks later wanna one is doing a fansign meet and greet thing and jihoon is smiling at every fan and holding their hands and thanking them for their gifts and doing his aegyo
and suddenly.....he sees YOU right in front of him with your deep blue hat and heavy trench coat to avoid being seen
he flinches at first but he can’t be rude so he fakes a smile and just goes...”hi”
and you’re like listen....i’m like seriously sorry for that fiasco back at the store..... and you proceed to apologize several times before he’s like okay!!! i got it you’re sorry
and then you take out the bag you’ve been holding and hand it to him
“here,” you say. “i included a booklet inside.”
and then you just rAN OUT OF THERE like you didn’t even talk to the rest of the members who’re looking at your back like wtf was that????
after their schedules end and they’re at their dorms jihoon takes out the bag you gave him and sees the booklet that read “ok i know i said sorry but please take a look at the clothes i picked out for u”
he’s so ready to get pissed to see you STILL criticizing his choices but then he sees all the clothes inside and the different outfit combinations drawn and written in the booklet....and he’s sOLD like these are so pretty and cute???????
and he tries everything on and woojin is like whoa and guanlin probably gets gayer
jihoon wears one set for his airport fashion the next day and all his fansites basically explode bc he reached another level of stunning
and his stylists and managers are like????? what the heckie HECK
jihoon’s all smiles and stuff and he’s....really grateful to you.....
like when he met you and found out that you were his soulmate he never felt more crestfallen because the relationship already looked darker than woojin’s past
but now...he just really wants to meet you again and thank you....and maybe talk over a cup of coffee....and just be........a soft couple that he’s always wanted to be in..........
jihoon became the top search on naver for the whole week and became the reason for your smile
it’s the first time that your work has ever been “publicized” in any shape or form and you’re so glad it’s receiving such positive feedback
a while later you get an email during your lunch break
and the sender is.....CJ E&M entertainment
they somehow figured out that you were the one who gave jihoon his clothes and discovered more of your works from blogs and stuff and now they want to hire you as a stylist for wanna one and the meeting date is....in three hours
you drop your cup of coffee and spRINT out of your university to catch a taxi cab
when you get to the meeting place at the company you realize that frick frack botta bing botta boom your hair’s a mess and you’re sweaty and you haven’t showered in three days due to your schedule and you’re in no way appropriate looking to be hired to be a person who’s in charge of making people look good
but a staff sees you and is like!! come in!!!!! and you’re like welp it’s do or die
and the company manager and wanna one members are all in a private room waiting for you and the manager starts this speech about how he adores your sense of style and how all the members would be happy to have you as their stylist and how much they’re willing to pay you but the whole time you’re mostly sneaking glances at jihoon
you know how sometimes you would sneak glances at someone who just so happens to look at you at the exact same time and it gets awkward and then both of you would look away really fast
that happens so many time with you and jihoon but...the fourth time that it happens he stares back just three seconds longer than before
he blushes SO hard because of how daring of a move that was and starts fanning himself and beside him jisung is like??? it’s like 20 degrees in here what are you doing
and then the company manager says to you “usually we hire stylists who are married to prevent any kind of special relationship between them and the members...you’ll be an exception to our rule. but the second that we see something suspicious or that you’re violating that rule, then....well, you can guess what might happen.”
and you’re like wow what the heck so i’ll lose my job for getting together with my soulmate
and then the meeting is done and the manager goes to get you your id card and all the paperwork and everyone pre much disperses except for you and jihoon
it’s a bit awkward with both of you staring at the floor....and then you try to break the silence with “this sucks”
and jihoon laughs and just says “it’ll be fine” and he looks up at you and takes a deep breath and goes “give me your number before they come back”
his heart’s racing and he’s almost afraid that you’ll say no
and when you say yes and take out your phone he feels six weights being lifted off his shoulder
and his head jihoon imagines all the possibilities for you two...snuggling besides you as he watches you draw ideas into your notebooks, holding your hand and telling you to pay a bit more attention to him, and smiling when you toss your notebook away, giving in, and leaning closer to him
you have to shake his shoulders to wake him from his daydream lol
you’re like listen bud ur cute i gUESS but we ain’t gonna kiss or anything until i organize your closet
and that’s probably when jihoon realizes this relationship will be anything but the perfect manhwa couple he’s always dreamed of
and suddenly he finds himself swiftly pecking your cheek and going “yeah well i just dID”
you:
you:
the other 10 members watching from a crack of the door: OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH
he saved u in his heart real fast

How to Utilize Google Cache Websites
When you think about Google cache, what comes to mind? That thing you clear out when our computer is running slow? Cache can actually be a useful SEO tool to catch a glimpse of what Google wants you to do.
In this guide, we’ll go through some of the best ways to use Google cache to track competitors and help you potentially rise in the SERPs.
What Is Google Cache?
Google cached pages are HTML backups of the content on a page taken at a certain point in time. This information is stored on a server and can be retrieved later for various purposes.
Periodically, Google crawls sites and takes snapshots of the site at that point. They’ll index so they can refer back later to see what has changed since then.
Google also provides the date and time of that snapshot.
If you’re dealing with underperforming pages or concerns over indexing, or if you’re wondering how often Google is crawling your site, Google cache might be the answer to your problems.
The Three Views for Cached Websites
There are three viewing options for cached sites:
Full version
Text-only version
Source code
Each version is important for different reasons.
The full version of a cached page will provide an exact snapshot of the site when Google passed through. It’ll show the ads, banners, font customization, etc. It’s a replica of the site, with all of the design elements.
Text-only is what Googlebot sees when it crawls the site. It doesn’t see the images, banners, and graphics; all it reads is the text.
This is important for one primary reason: sometimes high-ranking content gets hidden behind media, making it harder for the bot to crawl your site. For this reason, Google uses text-only cache when crawling sites.
If you are looking to obtain useful information from Google cache, you can use both of these views for different purposes.
The full version is essential for seeing updates made to sites. You can look at a competitor’s website that might be outranking you for specific keywords, and you can see what changes they made to their site over time. This applies to media and graphics.
With the text-only version, you can’t do that.
You can use the text-only cache to see what changes were made to the content itself without having to worry about formatting, photos, and videos. This provides a simpler way to look at the text alone, so you don’t miss anything.
To view the page source, right-click and select it from the menu or press CTRL+U on Windows.
This brings up the raw code for the page completely unformatted. Even if you can’t read website code, you might still have a use for this from a marketing and SEO standpoint by understanding what the different tags mean.
How to View Google Cached Pages
If you want to use Google cache to view page versions, there are a few ways you can do this: manually, or with extensions and tools to help you.
We’ll start with the most basic method.
Google Search
Do a Google search for whatever page you want to view. In this case, we’re searching for neilpatel.com.
If you look at the URL for the first result, neilpatel.com, you’ll see a small downward-facing arrow to the right of it. Click that, and a menu will appear with a single option: “Cached.”
Click that link to see a cached version of the page. You’ll see a banner at the top with the date and time the snapshot was taken and a link to access the current page.
Another simple method is to type “cache:URL” in the search bar. If you type “cache:neilpatel.com,” it will bring you to the same page we see above.
If you click text-only in the banner at the top, it will eliminate all media, color, graphics, and formatting, and you’ll have a basic snapshot of all the text and links on the site at that time.
Google Cache Checker
Another method for viewing cached pages is the Google Cache Checker. A few different tools are available, but the one I’ve found most accurate and simple is through Small SEO Tools.
Here you’ll be able to enter up to five domains, and it will provide you with a cache URL and a link you can click to access the cached version of the page.
This method is nearly as simple as using Google, and has the added benefit of letting you do five URLs at once.
Wayback Machine
Archive.org provides a more in-depth picture of a website’s history, and also offers a Chrome extension of its Wayback Machine. Using the Google search method or Google Cache Checker only lets you check the most recent version.
In some cases, the page you want information on was just cached the day before, so you probably wouldn’t get much data out of that.
Wayback Machine provides a ton of information about how many times a site was cached, and they even break it down each day.
You can click any date and find every single page update that has been made for years. This is a powerful tool that you could use to find small page changes that possibly resulted in increased traffic or ranking.
4 Reasons to Use Google’s Cached Website Feature
You might be wondering, “Why would I want to view old versions of webpages? Isn’t this just for Google to crawl sites, index them, and find errors?”
Well, that’s true, but there’s much more to it than that. There are several uses for Google cache searches, and some can be pretty powerful.
View Changes to Competitors’ Sites
This ninja strategy is a great way to get an idea of what your competitor is doing differently.
Let’s say you’ve been competing for a super challenging keyword for months with a competitor site in the same niche. Thankfully, you’ve been outranking them now for four months straight.
Out of nowhere, they take the number one spot with snippets, and you can’t understand what happened. You didn’t make any changes to your site, there haven’t been any big updates, and everything seems the same for the most part.
What could you do in this situation?
You could use Google cache to see what changes they made.
Check out how many updates they made, what specific changes they made, and compare it to what the page looked like before. You just might find those updates are the reason they’re outranking you.
Check How Frequently Your Site Is Indexed
When Google determines your site is relevant and authoritative based on the keywords you’re using and what audience you’re targeting, Googlebot will index your site more often.
You can use Google cache to see how often they’re indexing your site, and that can help determine if your content is on-par with your target audience and relevant, according to Google.
If you find your site was crawled yesterday, and it updates in a day or two, you could guess the page has high relevance because Google isn’t letting outdated pages sit around.
Google also updates pages that input new content regularly more frequently. If you have a blog you contribute to regularly, Google will start to understand your cadence and will crawl and update the site more frequently.
All of these factors combined could have a positive impact on your rankings.
Use Google Cache to Diagnose Content Errors
If you’re looking at a Google cache of your website, and you’re not thrilled with how frequently they’re indexing your site, you might want to look at your content.
Check out the text-only view and see if there are any errors, fluff, keyword stuffing, or any other no-no’s in the SEO world.
Being able to see older versions of your webpages can help you determine what steps you need to take to make positive changes.
For example, if you updated your site three months ago, and it resulted in a steep climb in the rankings, you might want to make some of those same changes to other pages on your site. With Google cache, you can see what those changes were so you can implement them elsewhere.
See What Information Google Caches
Another great idea is to find competitor sites that are getting cached most often and mimic the same actions on your site. If you notice a top-ranking competitor uploads a small weekly feature to their site, you might want to consider doing the same.
Ideally, you want to model everything the most frequently indexed sites are doing because Google believes their pages are most relevant to the audience, and that same audience applies to your business.
If you can do what they’re doing, Google might think your website also meets the needs of the audience, and you may have a higher chance of increasing in the SERPs.
Limitations of Google Cache
It’s true that everything in SEO has a caveat. Nothing is ever perfect, and we should always take what we see with a grain of salt. While it’s is a great way to get an idea of what your competitors are doing right, it’s not exactly what “Google” sees.
No matter what you do, you’ll never see what Google sees, and we can only try to get as close as possible.
For example, Google uses a web rendering service that uses an outdated version of Chrome, which doesn’t support many of its features.
Rendering exactly what Google sees is impossible without using the same version of the browser they’re using.
The cached pages could also be inaccurate because Google doesn’t always refresh the version each time they index it. Sometimes you might see the same version for weeks or months while small changes are made each time.
It would be easier to implement changes on your site if you could see them on a rolling basis instead of all at once, but that isn’t the case with Google.
Keep in mind a lot of sites use mobile-first indexing, and that can cause error pages. While this isn’t the only reason you would receive an error message, a site change may cause the cache to register improperly.
Finally, sometimes Google doesn’t cache a page at all. Although they index all pages, they don’t cache all of them, so you may never see any changes made to your site or someone else’s. This could lead you to believe Google isn’t even indexing your site.
The moral of the story is, don’t make drastic changes to your site as a result of what you see or learn from the cache. You can use it as a tool for research and guide page improvements, but it shouldn’t be the end-all-be-all.
Conclusion
If this information seems insignificant, we have various other ways to help you increase in the rankings and get more traffic.
Don’t stress too much about this. It’s a great way to see what changes your competitors are making and whether Google thinks your content is relevant, but you don’t have to rely too heavily on it.
There are many ways to increase ranking — this is simply a back pocket strategy for a rainy day.
Have you used Google cache to improve your site? What did you learn from it?

Userscripts: hey newbie coders, wanna feel like a goddamn wizard?
Following on the ten-line fix for Tumblr’s fuckery I threw together earlier tonight... for anyone who’s dipped their toes into programming but doesn’t know where to go next, writing Greasemonkey scripts is an excellent way to get hands-on coding experience.
It’s centered on small, concrete tasks with actual meaningful results on the websites you use day-to-day. No artificial coding exercises. Just go out and fix something that annoys you.
The resulting sense of power is... somewhat intoxicating. Also, your friends will think you’re a wizard. A wizard who goes around relieving the everyday frustrations of people stuck on a website that doesn’t meet its users’ needs.
You get to monkey around with the products of other people’s real-world web development. This will expose you to all kinds of widespread conventions and practices that you’ll never find in tutorials. It will also expose you to the messiness and occasional pants-on-head stupidity of other people’s code, an experience that’s equal parts aggravating and reassuring.
It’s low-overhead. No compilers or interpreters to install, no libraries to download, no web-framework boilerplate needed to get started, no convoluted build-and-deploy process to actually get the thing running. Literally all you need is a browser extension you might already have installed, and you can sit there with the “New script” editor open in one tab and the page you’re tinkering with open in another, making tiny changes and hitting “refresh” to see what comes up on the Javascript console if you try this.
So, newbie coders: go out and try something! Write a small cosmetic fix for something annoying on a site you visit regularly. Write your own blacklist script for a site that doesn’t have one. Write a dumbass word-replace script for pure entertainment. Break your Tumblr dash in new and entertaining ways. Ferret around in the page source and the site’s API documentation to see all the hidden metadata you could add to the UI. On Tumblr, check out the “data-json” HTML attribute that comes with every post on your dash, and fool around with it: hide non-original posts, hide everything but your own posts, display NSFW posts with a different background color.
You will have to learn some Javascript, which is a pain in the ass, but a vital skill in any kind of web development. Like English, it’s omnipresent, easy to pick up some basics and cobble them together into something atrocious that gets the job done, and fractally infuriating as you delve into advanced uses and getting the details right. Which is fine for our purposes, because dumb hacks are the bread and butter of Greasemonkey scripts. I’d also recommend looking at jQuery, because grabbing the elements you want to tinker with on a page that has eldritch horrors lurking in its page source is a nightmare in straight Javascript. jQuery has a bad rap in heavy-duty web development, but for DOM traversal and manipulation on random third-party websites, it’s a lifesaver.
(Caveat: dumb hacks are not heavy-duty web development, and when/if you decide to start leveling up, you will want to put in the fractally-infuriating effort of learning how to get the details right. Fucking around, breaking shit, and writing terrible hacky code on your own time is how you get good. But learning some best practices before you start contributing to larger projects is how you avoid being the one who unleashes the eldritch horrors that everyone else then has to deal with.)
For people who are not coders, but are theme developers or good with HTML/CSS... coding at the Greasemonkey-script level isn’t actually that far removed from what you’re already doing. If HTML is nouns and CSS is adjectives, Javascript is verbs. The learning curve is a bit steeper than getting into HTML/CSS, and the universe of advanced uses that aren’t relevant to your interests is wider and more intimidating, but I promise the basics are not sorcery. Fire up a W3C Javascript tutorial and the jQuery documentation, take a look at existing userscripts, change them just to see what happens. Then take a deep breath, click the ‘new userscript’ button, and try to tweak something on your Tumblr dash. It will do nothing and/or barf an unholy mess onto your browser console the first 15 tries, which is a totally normal part of programming at all levels of experience. And then the tweak that finally Does The Thing will be magical.

How to Learn to Code For Free.
Tumblr media
Learning by Thanks to the code might even be the only way to secure your children's financial future. "By 2020, U.S. universities will not be able to fill even a third of the country's 1.4 million computer science positions with qualified graduates," says a current Time article. Learning to program leads to guaranteed job offers.
The good news is that programming during a class does not require advanced study. Today, anyone with a web connection, or library access, has numerous free resources available that even young children can learn computer! Don't wait for public schools to catch up: 9 out of 10 schools don't teach IT!
8 free ways to find curved code (for you and your kids!)
1. CodeAcademy.com
Age: teens and more.
Classes in: HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, Ruby, Python, jQuery, API.
If you've never seen an HTML line before, this is usually the starting point. Code Academy has 7 basic online classes that track and explain everything in detail. Their online lessons are choppy into small steps, making you feel like you're constantly moving forward, and satisfied that you're just making progress.
The site also remembers where you left off, so it's easy to take a 10-minute lesson, have a snack, and get back to where you left off. You can also return very easily and review past lessons if you summarize any kind of update. The situation is extremely intuitive and doesn't take long to navigate, so you almost just dive straight.
I took the essential HTML/CSS class and loved it. I had never received formal programming training before this course and it was exactly what I needed. Super easy steps, yet explained, and pointers if you can't solve it. I recommend CodeAcademy to anyone interested in learning programming.
2. Rayuela for iPad
Age: 9-11
This iPad app is designed to show toddlers the basics of programming. Kids drag and drop snippets to create games, stories, animations, interactive art, and more. Here is the Hopscotch website and this is where you can download the app on iTunes. The Rayuela app is free. Unfortunately, there is no version for smartphones, perhaps because the screens are too small.
3. KhanAcademy.or
Age: over 5 years, older for programming courses
Courses in: many tutorial videos, more classes in Javascript, cryptography, theory.
Computer science is just a topic at Khan Academy, which teaches math, humanities, economics, and exam preparation, among other things. Within the computing field, it focuses on Javascript and also offers a course on cryptography and knowledge theory. The situation is not as difficult as CodeAcademy, but that is partly due to the great amount of knowledge available about the situation, all for free!
Khan Academy is also a great location for high school lycée lycée High School "> High School? 5. GirlsWhoCode.com
Age: high school students
Teach: Basic to intermediate programming skills during a women's camp program.Only 3% of girls chose computers as important in college. only a few ended up being software engineers. Girls Who Code is a curved change that. The situation is carrying out a 7-week camp immersion program in selected cities across the country for the second- and third-year girls. The program is free and scholarships are available for transportation.Campers study programming from 9 to 4, as well as touring to Google, Facebook, Twitter, AT&T, Gilt Groupe, Foursquare, and, therefore, News Corp. They also meet women entrepreneurs, CEOs, developers, designers, and IT specialists who act as mentors. There are also code clubs if you are not near a diving program. The clubs are slightly larger and accept grades 6-12. A group of 15 girls is required to develop a replacement club that the organization supports monthly activities related to the project.

You will listen in three different formats: Quicktime, MP3, or Flash. Led by David Malan, Ph.D.The course includes "algorithms " (design, implementation, and analysis); software development (abstraction, packaging, data structures, correction and testing); computer structure (low-level data representation and instruction processing); computer systems (programming languages, compilers, operating systems and databases) and computers within the planet (networks, websites, security, crime analysis and encryption). The course thanks the participants for their more careful thinking and, therefore, for their more effective problem-solving."Harvard's computer science course begins here.
7. Massive courses opened online
Age: adults
Lessons: There are no courses offered directly through this website, the Aggregate offers free online courses. There are many more free online computing courses (as well as for various other topics), also known as massive open online courses. A site that adds all available MOOCs is MOOC-list.com.Search for courses by category, university, instructor, country, language, certificate type. Please note that MOOCs generally do not offer college credits, but you can get a certificate. Contact the entity that provides the course for more details. Read reviews of previous courses. Take a look at the required courses. Watch videos. the situation is free to use and there are tons of ads that back it up, so be careful when clicking.
8. Code with Klossy
Kode with Klossy was founded by supermodel Karlie Kloss and could also be a free two-week coding camp for women ages 13 to 18. The program uses the Flatiron School's web development curriculum and is taught through the Learn.co platform. Girls are presented with software engineering principles and learn the same programming languages behind apps like Twitter and therefore the NY Times. The camps take place in three cities this year: St. Louis, New York, and LA ...
