The strawberry poison frog (Oophaga pumilio) isn’t berry sweet. Its vivid coloring is aposematic—a warning sign to potential predators to stay back! Found in rainforests along the coasts of Central America, the strawberry poison frog lays its eggs on the forest floor, then carries tadpoles to water-filled plants to develop.

My entry for Amphibian Pride 2024! This year I'm a singing strawberry poison dart frog, because I'm actually part of a Pride choir in my hometown now, despite being afraid to sing in front of other people :D (I'm also in a Welsh choir performing the week before. I didn't realise the gauntlet I'd signed myself up to kdjvdjvb)
