Finally I met a man with kindness in his eyes and fire in his heart. HE said you'll never have to chose a side--it's rewarding, but all around, it's hard.

So, I’m stealing this from @overzealous-panda-yak, one of those “List your 20 favorite albums” kind of deals. Staying with what seems to be the trend, I’ve kept myself to a one-album-per-artist limit. And while I don’t know that I can definitively say that these are my 20 “favorite” albums (because I have a crippling fear of setting things in stone, and because I could very well come up with an entirely different list in the morning), the following 20 albums have all been ones that I have at one point or another in my life fixated on to the detriment of pretty much all other music. So, without further ado, the list, presented in a rough chronological order of when I was super-duper into them:
1. Anthem - Less Than Jake
2. The End Is Near - Five Iron Frenzy
3. Drunken Lullabies - Flogging Molly
4. Reconstruction Site - The Weakerthans
5. Decomposer - The Matches
6. The Sufferer & the Witness - Rise Against
7. Everything in Transit - Jack’s Mannequin
8. Blackout - Dropkick Murphys
9. Somewhere in the Between - Streetlight Manfiesto
10. The ‘59 Sound - The Gaslight Anthem
11. Sam’s Town - The Killers
12. Say Anything - Say Anything
13. This Will Be the Death of Us - Set Your Goals
14. My Dinosaur Life - Motion City Soundtrack
15. England Keep My Bones - Frank Turner
16. Pedestrian Verse - Frightened Rabbit
17. America, Location 12 - Dispatch
18. Transcendental Youth - The Mountain Goats
19. The Beauty Between - RVIVR
20. The Other Shore - Murder By Death
As always, if you feel like killing a bit of time and this seems like the best way to do it, consider yourself tagged.

Help this amazing band reach their KickStarter goal to fund their new album by pre-ordering their album! You won’t be disappointed! They’re a ska-rock-ish band! Today is the last day to preorder and help them reach their goal, or the album doesn’t get released! :(

Would you be upset if I told you we were dying? And every cure they gave us was a lie? Oh! They mean it when they say we're dead and doomed and every single symptom brings us closer to the tomb. And who will take the credit for our swift impending fall, because it's not my fault.
Depends. Would you be impressed if I said the dead would help us counting every single moment that we waste our time?

Haddaway - What Is Love
Because it's at that point in the winter where I'm going stir crazy and finding it difficult to take myself or anything seriously. - Adrienne Fisher (@adriennerayfish)
Bring Me the Horizon - Shadow Moses
While metalcore, in general, continues to tread water as a genre, Bring Me the Horizon once again prove that there is still room for innovation within the much-maligned genre. The Brits' lead single, "Shadow Moses," off of their forthcoming fourth album, Sempiternal, is a barn-burning, rip-rousing, baseball-bat-to-the-temples of a tune. So don't let Woe, Is Me or [insert shitty ____core band here] get you down on the genre. Bring Me the Horizon persist to bring it both heavy and hard. Michael Meeze (@mikemeeze)
Jackie Wilson - Lonely Teardrops
One of Mr. Excitement's greatests gifts to music - a sad song you can dance to. - Ali Carcache (@alicarcache)
Streetlight Manifesto- The Receiving End Of It All
Streetlight Manifesto is the band that is responsible for me becoming the person that I am currently. They were my entrance into the music scene and I am so grateful for them. The whole news about their "hiatus" bummed me out to a new level. While we await their new album (first in 6 years) it's about the time to go back and listen to their discography. This is my favorite Streetlight song for many reasons, and that horn breakdown at the end made me shed a tear when I listened the day I found out about their news. I guess I'll probably cry or something when I see them do their farewell tour in the Fall. R.I.P. Streetlight. - Justin Graci (@JustinHMGraci)
Cartel - In Stereo (Acoustic)
I have their EP In Stereo, but I just found this little jem while on browsing Spotify: The deluxe version, with acoustic tracks. And I am all about acoustics. This song seems to communicate something different over acoustic guitar; a slightly slower, more emotional song. I dig this. Ready for Collider already! - Mike Sheffey (@SheffeyzTweetz)
Rhye- Open
Selecting a song from Woman was frustrating because every single track is worthy. In all honesty, just stream the whole album- I promise it will change your life for the better, or positively alter your current state of mind. Rhye has opened a window of intimacy that I didn't even know existed within me. The only way I can describe this album is by ripping off Trip Fontaine: It's a stone cold fox. - Sydney Gore (@sydegee)
Like Torches - Missing It All
I saw Like Torches for the first time two weeks ago and I've had their new album, Keep Your Head High, on repeat ever since. The energy and presence in their live show blew me away and the album, produced by Ryan Key and Ryan Mendez of Yellowcard, is everything that's right in rock music these days. "Missing It All" has a driving pace, some well-placed harmonies, and instantly relatable lyrics about leaving behind all the things holding you back and finding your own way. - Becky Kovach (@beckystrz)
Simon & Garfunkel - Cecilia
Being home on spring break and finally getting some quality tme with my record player has me feeling very "Almost Famous nostalgic" this week. I also put some good albums under my little brother's bed before I moved away, however that did not quite warrant the results I hoped for (it's the thought that counts, right?) Either way, this is just a great tune and unless you don't have a soul, it is impossible to listen to it and not be in a great mood. - Brittany Oblak (@brittanyoblak)
Story Of The Year - Until The Day I Die
Let's take things back to 2003, I was a fresh-faced 6th grader and enjoying music was a foreign concept. Up until this point I never actively sought out music and only listened to top 40 on the radio. Anything "hard" scared me to much to ever listen to it, but there are two things that changed that: Page Avenue and Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge. Story Of The Year announced their reunion on Friday along with a full run on Warped Tour so I will get to see them for the first time and I for one will be screaming this song until the day I die (see what I did there?). - Connor Sheehan (@ConnorPOZ)
The Mountain Goats- Up the Wolves
The Sunset Tree is a mainstay in my handful of favorite albums, and something about winter finally shedding into springtime makes this a must-spin record for the next few weeks. "Up the Wolves" is the most triumphant track on the album, and features some of John Darnielle's finest lyricism. The album deserves a full play-through, but if you've only got time in your hectic listening schedule for one Mountain Goats tune, make sure it's this one. -Erik van Rheenen (@TheRealVandyMan)
Slow Warm Death – Alone *Song is not on Spotify
John Galm's long awaited project, Slow Warm Death, finally released their full length album. Don't be fooled, former Snowing frontman flipped the script from his past bands roots and put out a super gritty, garage surf record that’s so full of reverb you're going to hear it echo in your head for the rest of the day. The second track "Alone" blows your mind right out of the gate. Grab your surfboard, and let death take you. - Dan Bassini (@danbassini)
eels - Mr. E's Beautiful Blues
Goddamn right it's a beautiful day, uh huh. - Jesse Richman(@jrichmanesq)
Ed Sheeran – Wake Me Up
My girlfriend got me hooked on this song and his music in general. I guess singing this sexy song in a bathtub full of bublles while I play video games in the other room will do that to a man. – Hobbes (@waitrewindthat)
John Mayer – Daughters
I spent some time listening to John Mayer’s older songs and I completely forgot how much I adore this song. Heavier Things is such a great album. I expect that I’ll be listening to it a lot in the near future. – Deanna Chapman (@deechapman21)

9. Streetlight Manifesto - Everything Goes Numb (2003)
I had already been a huge fan of Catch 22 at the point that this album was released. I was 15 years old when this came out. I remember hearing that Tomas Kalnoky had started a new ska band, and was releasing a cd. I got so excited, I bought this day 1. I was not disappointed at all. This is very very reminiscent of Keasby Night's era Catch 22. Very skilled musicians, playing fun, fast, upbeat ska/punk. It's not really that much ska. Just a rock band with a horn section. Regardless, I really like this cd.
So she wakes up
in time to break down
She left a note up on the dresser
and she's right on time
You don't know anything
right or wrong
I said I know
and she said so
I want to panic
but I've had it
so I go
you don't owe anything to anyone
But don't take your life
because it's all that you've got
you'd be better off just up and leaving
if you don't think they will stop
And when you wake up
everything is going to be fine
I guarantee that you wake up in a better place
in a better time
so you're tired of living
and you feel like you might give in
well don't
it's not your time
looking through the paper today
looking for a specific page
don't want to find her full name followed by dates
because when I left her alone
she made a sound, like a moan
"you're known by everyone for everything you've done"
fuck buying flowers for graves
I'd rather buy you a one way non-stop
to anywhere
find anyone
do anything
forget and start again, love
she said she won't go
and that's that
it hurts too much to stand by
you've got to stop and draw a line
and everyone here has to choose a side tonight
the moment of truth is haunting you
don't forget your family
regardless of what you choose to do
you can't decide
and they're all screaming "why won't you?"
I'll start the engine but I can't take this ride for you
I'll draw your bath and I'll load your gun
but I hope so bad that you'll bathe and hunt
Annie's tired of forgetting about today and always planning for tomorrow (tomorrow)
Annie says "The saddest day I came across was when I learned that life goes on without me" (without me)
Annie says "If everyone has someone else, then I ain't got nobody's love to save me" (save me)
Annie says "I think I'll pass away tonight, because it seems I'll never get it right if it's just me" (just me)
Annie says!
And when you wake up
everything is going to be fine
I guarantee that you wake up in a better place
and in a better time
so you're tired of living
and you feel like you might give in
well don't
it's not your time
Annie says she wouldn't mind if they never find a cure for all her problems (her problems)
Annie says as long as she has someone near to make it clear she does not need to solve them (solve them)
Annie says "oh, this loneliness is killing me it's filling me with anger and resentment (resentment)"
Annie says "I'm turning into someone that I never thought I'd have to be again"
And when you wake up
everything is going to be fine
I guarantee that you wake up in a better place
and in a better time
so you're tired of living
and you feel like you might give in
well don't
it's not your time

I wouldn't let you go
you could run run run run but I will follow close
someday you will say "that's it, that's all"
but I'll be waiting there with open arms to break your fall
I know that you think that you're on your own
but just know that I'm here
and I'll lead you home
if you let me
she said "forget me"

Morning Recap: Fall Out Boy Are Back, TSSF Release First Single, Postal Service Reunion Tour
Fall Out Boy Are Back
We will be running a longer "Fall Out Boy Recap" in just an hour or so, but for now you can scroll through all that happened with the band by clicking above.
The Story So Far “Right Here” Single Stream
The Story So Far have given us the first taste of What You Don't See with "Right Here." If you have yet to give it a spin, make sure you do. It's going to be a popular topic of discussion today.
The Postal Service Announce World Stadium, Festival Reunion Tour
If you don't want to spend all your money going to Coachella and being surrounded by people you hate, we've got partial good news for you. The Postal Service have indeed added more dates to their reunion routing, but it's still pretty sparse at this point. Keep your fingers crossed.
Streetlight Manifesto’s LP Being Held In Purgatory By Victory Records
This story started out as unsurprising and has now moved to unbelievable. Victory Records, who promised to give us a release date for Streetlight's new album this past Friday, have decided that they once again do not care about a flash flood of fans that hate them and have released no new news. The worst part? Streetlight don't know anything more than we do on a release.
fun., Tegan And Sara Announce Summer Tour
fun. are making the jump from large theaters to sheds this summer, and they'll be taking their friends in Tegan And Sara out with them as support. It will certainly be interesting to see whether or not fun.'s sound can translate into a live setting to crowds up to 15,000 people.
Relient K Release “That’s My Jam”; 90’s Reference Song
Have you spun this yet? If not, you probably haven't felt the confusion of whether or not you should be laughing or be disgruntled. Good news, this song is super catchy. Better news, this song is apparently not going to be on their new album.
Against Me! Begin Record New LP; Atom Willard Tracking Drums
Many fans were under the impression that Against Me! had recorded their album mid-2012, but it looks like the band just started tracking yesterday. Atom Willard may also now be an official member of the band, which would be rad.
Cobra Starship Working On New Album In The Studio
First Fall Out Boy, now this. What Decaydance band could be next?
