Sorry these have taken forever, my life is a FIRE rn.

These should not be controversial yet...😤🫠

He reads a lot, but is more of an intellectual mystery and/or experimental fiction kind of guy. I don't see him really liking romance that much. He's not opposed to it, but he's not seeking it out either. Same with adventure based and horror books.

Eris also likes cats. He is both a dog and cat person.

I feel like once he discovers coffee, he's never going back to tea

He and his mom and close in age, which he tries not to think about too much.

Speaking of age - Eris is not one to celebrate birthdays. But if you insist, he would like the pie his mother made him as a child, thank you very much.

Plays the piano - he's just okay at more technical stuff but really thrives on romantic era pieces.

Part of me thinks that Eris would decide to stay single forever and let the power of the Autumn Court select one of his nephews as high lord OR (honestly more likely) if he does get married, his wife is someone who never knew the true horrors of Beron or Hybern or all the Prythian bs, but they deeply respect him and honor the time it takes for him to undo all that trauma. haha what that's not my fic at all.

Similarly, if Eris did have children, I imagine one of them is a daughter who is basically a mini-him and he is not sure what to do with that. He's certainly not a bad father, but he has to really work at it. This is absolutely not the plot of one of my fics im writing what?!

He and cassian never become best friends, but they learn to tolerate each other.

Elain, however, grows on Eris and they become fast friends.

I heard Jack has a family, I only know his parents' name (Rise & Shine) But i dont know his sister's name since I'm only new of this fandom, I dont know much their personality, how they looked like or his parents' backstories too or even what jack and his sister looked like or personality since they were kids. (since i heard Jambeebot taken down SDJ drawings in their twitter acc :'( )

But What if Jack's family met reader/alice or Jack introduced his parents to reader/alice?

Jack’s extended family are part of the SunnyTime Town AU, also known as the STT AU. This isn’t to be confused with the universe for Something’s Wrong with Sunny Day Jack, where Jack is just a character Joseph/[Redacted] played. In STT AU, Jack is a real person who happens to be a clown, living in SunnyTown, as opposed to CoudyTown. It's primarily a comedy AU based off a world filled with clowny characters. Here’s a couple of images Sauce/Jambeebot did for it, including ones that explain more details about it.

Oh, before I go into the images, I will emphasize that Jambeebot/Sauce’s art is not mine, and I really hope you support them on their official Sunny Day Jack twitter, Patreon, and/or kickstarter! They work super hard to create this content for all of us to enjoy, so I wanted to emphasize the credit to them since I’m showing their publicly released artwork.

Also, while I’m on the topic, please don’t repost the private patreon-exclusive art. I’ve seen some people reposting art from the patreon in the tags, and even if it’s cropped, that’s not okay. Doing that is not supporting Sauce/Jambeebot; that’s costing them money that could be spent helping them be financially secure and allow them to make the game without worrying about their livelihood.

And since you were interested in seeing Jack and his big sis Daisy Chain Jane as kids, as well as getting a look at what little we’ve seen of Rise and Shine’s backstories, I shall deliver.

I’m still working on Alice’s clownsona as it were for the STT AU. I do have her name sorted out though - Aurorabori Alice.

Yes, I feel quite proud of that pun.

Alice (and MC in general) would be the newcomer to SunnyTown who Jack feels an immediate attraction to. Jack is well liked by everybody, and is always friendly, but he’s especially drawn to Alice, wanting to befriend her and spend as much time with her as possible.

Also, despite this AU being very lighthearted and comedy based... yanderes still exist here too, and Jack inherited quite a lot of traits from his dad...

The intensity of these feelings for Alice(/MC) are new and... more than a little unnerving, even to Jack. He’s never felt this way before about anyone. He aches for her in a way that is so strong, he is rather frightened of himself, and too ashamed to tell anybody that he feels this way. He didn’t realize that something was missing from his life until he met Alice, and now that he knows just how warm sunshine can be, the thought of living without her feels dark and cold, even though he’s surrounded by friends and family who love him.

Despite these new frightening desires, Jack won’t force anything on Alice. How could he do that to someone he loves so deeply? It would snuff out her light and ruin her. No, all he can do is keep these feelings hidden and love her with all his heart. Hopefully, if he does everything right, she’ll eventually love him too. There’s no one else in the world who could love her more than he does. It’s impossible, not with feelings as strong as this...

As for Alice... she just thinks Jack is very friendly. Anytime she suspects that he might be flirting with her or that his feelings might be anything but platonic, her best friend Honey Bunny is quick to remind her that Jack is just a very friendly person, which is why everyone loves him, and he probably isn’t interested in getting a partner since he’s never had one before at his age.

Though Honey doesn’t realize Jack simply never felt anything for anyone the way Alice did.

Yes, this is the same Honey Bunny puppet that’s from Alice’s concept sheet. Like Buddy can change from a belt to a person, Honey can change from a puppet into a person.

There’s a theory that when Buddy changes into a human, Jack turns into a belt, though there are also pictures of the two of them human together (including a very spicy one). Still, if Honey and Buddy’s situations with their respective pals are similar, then it means Alice would have a puppet form she can transform into. I’d probably have to design it when I finally draw her STT AU self.

Honey has good intentions about steering Alice away from Jack’s affections. Alice moved to SunnyTown to get a fresh start after she had a rough time with a former suitor who may or may not be Ian’s clownsona. (Naturally, things won’t wind up as toxic for the breakup as they did in the SDJ universe.) Honey wants to protect her best friend from heartache, but might be a bit overprotective at times.

On the other side of the coin, you have Buddy serving to encourage Jack and give him, at times kind of off the wall advice, but he means well too. Naturally, this causes Buddy and Honey to come into conflict a lot, as Buddy is trying to be Jack’s wingman, and Honey is trying to be Jack’s cockblocker.

One solid image I have is of when Alice and Jack start getting closer despite Honey’s interference, Buddy (in human form) drags off Honey by her ears or tail (also in human form) to give them alone time.

Yes, Honey still has rabbit ears and a tail in her human form. How can I resist? Plus it’s not like Buddy doesn’t have unusual anatomy too...

Oh, speaking of that part of him, in this version of the STT AU with Alice, Honey and Buddy wind up going from antagonists to, ahem, quite a bit more. They fight, and it turns into spice. Jack and Alice are going to walk in on them and get quite a shock to see them making out.

Naturally, in a general MC version of the STT AU, there wouldn’t be a Honey Bunny, so it’d be up to the respective person writing their take on the AU to decide how the relationship with Jack goes and what obstacles there are.

Jack is very likely to introduce his family to Alice right away. Jane seems like the type of nosy big sister who would insist on meeting the girl who Jack can’t stop talking about. Mama Shine and Papa Rise would obviously be curious as well.

Rise would also suspect that Jack might be taking after him in a certain way and discreetly give his son tips on how to keep from scaring away his sunshine. After all, Rise would never allow anyone to take Shine away from him, and why would he force his son to suffer without that addicting sunlight in his life?

Shine is a sweet mama type, very energetic, loud, and talkative. She would be the first to greet Alice after Jack introduces the family, likely with a big friendly hug, and would gush about how her son always speaks so highly of Alice, much to Jack’s embarrassment when she starts giving examples.

Alice, in return, would be happy to meet her new friend’s family and very happy that they like her. She wouldn’t be nervous about meeting them since she wouldn’t realize that she’s meeting her future in-laws. She would see where Jack gets his friendly and kind personality from when meeting them.

Honey might insist on coming along to the instruction if possible. She’ll be seeing right through Jack’s intentions and want to make sure things stay strictly platonic, though she will be friendly and wind up liking the family more than she thought she would.

How the family would feel about a general MC really depends on the different MCs and their personalities. From the aspect of how they feel about someone Jack is obviously in love with, they’re happy for him that he found someone who makes him feel that way. As long as they’re a good person for someone as sweet as Jack, they’ll welcome them with open arms.

Opinions on Alice specifically are as follows...

Shine thinks Alice is a very sweet girl, and is very considerate of Jack, which is ideal in a partner for her son. Alice is not terribly talkative, but that’s not a problem at all. After all, her loving husband is nonverbal. What’s important is that Alice is kind to Jack and even at this early friendship stage, she can see the hints of budding romantic feelings towards Jack forming from Alice’s end too.

Rise has a general friendly reaction to Alice initially, then is quietly surprised and pleased to learn that she knows sign language and can hold an actual nonverbal conversation with him. That certainly wins her a few points in his book. The more he learns about her, the more he can see what Jack sees in her and he approves.

Yes, Alice knows ASL in the SDJ universe too. (As well as the other AUs with her.)

Jane is a bit more of a wild card when it comes to Alice. She both likes Alice right away, but also sees an opportunity to playfully tease such an easily flustered person, as well as her little brother. She’s friendly and ultimately ships Alice and Jack, but is going to give them both a hard time with it and mercilessly tease Jack at every opportunity.

Opinions from the family about Honey Bunny are generally positive as well, as it’s easy to recognize she’s just looking out for a friend. Shine would probably try to give her advice to take it easy sometimes though. Jane would find it hilarious that Jack is getting cockblocked and use it as teasing fuel. Rise would see Honey as a potential problem, but is keeping hands off from interfering, as it’s a minor issue and Jack needs to learn how to deal with people who would keep his sunshine away.

Buddy is nebulous in that he’s a close enough friend to Jack that he’s practically family, so I’ll give his opinions as well. He likes Alice right away. She’s friendly, nice, and she greets him along with Jack even when he’s a belt at the time, which a lot of people forget to do. He is totally on board with helping Jack win her over.

As for Honey Bunny... as far as Buddy is concerned, she’s obnoxious, annoying, but cute, and fun to tease. The latter feelings develop into a more, ahem, friendly type of teasing down the road.

In the STT AU, Alice would probably be the new arts and crafts teacher at Jack’s schoolhouse, which gives them plenty of time to interact, and plenty of time for Jack to give her lovestruck looks from afar as he watches her teach the kids and play with them.

Also, in a nod to the lore I went with for Sunshine in Hell, Alice would sometimes give puppet show presentations at the library with the help of her friend Honey Bunny. Cloudy-Belle Sue just might wind up being her cousin in fact, given Alice’s hair is kind of cloud-like and fluffy, which is similar to Sue’s hairstyle. In this situation, it would be Sue introducing Alice and Jack to help her cousin get used to the town and make friends.

Naturally, Sue and the rest of the SunnyTime Crew are going to help Jack get together with Alice. They’re his friends after all, and Alice is a sweet girl, though Sue will caution Jack to take it slow since she’s had her heart broken before.

For a general MC, the crew would no doubt ship Jack with his sunshine regardless since he’s so happy with them. Whether they’re related to any of the other crew members is up to the individual MC’s backstory, of course.

Oh, wow, this really ran away from me, didn’t it? That’s about all I have for now of the STT AU. If you want to hear about the AphroDesia crossover AU’s versions of the family and their opinions of/interactions with Alice, let me know, since things are a liiittle bit different in the mafia AU.

I think that people tend to see a lot of themselves in fictional characters as they work through their own growth and development. I did, too, when I was much younger. So to see someone interpreting said character "wrong" can be inflammatory. At some point, though, people should hopefully mature enough to realize that that's not the case, and that someone else's interpretation of a character has no effect on the identity of any one real individual.

Embark on a journey with Jennifer Carlquist, PA-C, and course director of The Urgent Care EKG Course as she shares 12 essential insights for navigating through EKGs in the urgent care setting. 

1. When a patient has an irregular rhythm, it is important to look closely for P waves. If they are the same shape and distance from the QRS complex, you could be dealing with sinus arrythmia. This is usually caused by breathing.

2. If you have a patient with palpitations, you may find a clue to the cause by asking the patient when the palpitations happen. Often, palpitations only occur when the patient is about to go to sleep which could be caused by anxiety, although this is a diagnosis of exclusion.

3. When you have a patient with tachycardia, make sure you can explain why. Pulmonary embolus can cause tachycardia and will not always be associated with an s1q3t3.

4. If you have a very short PR interval, the first thing you should look for is a delta wave. This is what you will see with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, which can be fixed with an ablation.

5. If a patient has experienced a recent stressful event such as the death of a spouse and has new onset heart failure, consider Takotsubo cardiomyopathy. This can present a myriad of EKG findings, including STEMI.

6. PVCs are not always benign. They can lead to heart failure if there are enough of them. 

7. There is always a reason for sinus tachycardia, while supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) comes on suddenly for no good reason. It’s hard sometimes to tell the difference between the two, but when you start to sort through the history, that’s where it really starts to make sense. Sinus tachycardia will have volume loss, fever, anemia, or anxiety, while SVT patients will usually have none of those. The exception would be if a patient has anxiety after they started feeling the SVT, which is a whole different story.

8. When interviewing a patient about their palpitations, it is always helpful to ask if they have anxiety as well. If they do, ask them which came first: the palpitations or the anxiety. If the anxiety came first, then it is most likely anxiety causing the palpitations, although this would be a diagnosis of exclusion. If the patient feels palpitations and then anxiety comes on, that’s more likely arrhythmia based.

9. It is impossible to diagnose Takotsubo cardiomyopathy from an EKG alone. There are many different presentations of the condition, including STEMI, nonspecific STT-wave changes, T wave, and inversions that are symmetric. If you have a patient with a classic story that involves recent major stress in their life, then absolutely consider this diagnosis. It can be seen during their angiogram, where it will look like apical ballooning, and they will have a reduced ejection fraction.

10. ST-segment elevation can be very minimal and still deadly. It is important when you are screening for ST elevation to look closely at the TP segment. This is the most isoelectric line, and this is where you should draw your line to see if there’s any elevation or depression. As little as 1 mm can be significant for STEMI in the inferior leaves, so it really does matter here. Get serial ECGs.

11. When looking at the intervals at the top of the EKG, one of the most important numbers to look at is the QTC. The QTC should be <460 ms to be normal in women and <450 ms in men. If it is longer than that, consider adjusting the patient’s QT-prolonging medication. We do not usually see Torsades de Pointes until they get >500 ms, but it’s still a good idea to minimize risk by getting the patient off any QT prolongers you can.

12. Torsades de Pointes is lethal and most likely stems from a prolonged QT. Unlike in VT, the treatment is magnesium, but prevention is always the key. Amiodarone can also prolong the QT and can be proarrhythmic, so you may have to choose a different drug in some cases.

Shadow strutted into Four’s room as usual, choosing to forgo his perfected silent entrance. Even so, Four still jolted when he noticed him out of the corner of his eye.

“It’s late, Rain,” Shadow remarked as flopped down onto the bed next to Four.  Four groaned as he rolled over to make room. It was nearly 3, in fact. Did that mean it was actually early? He wasn’t sure.

“Mm…couldn’t sleep,” Four replied lamely. Clearly a lie.

Shadow scoffed. “You know I can see when you’re online, right? Don’t pretend you even tried.” 

Four sighed. “Yeah, yeah, whatever. I dunno, lost track of time or something.” He set down his phone and rolled over to look at Shadow. “You weren’t sleeping either,” he pointed out.

“I was working, man! You were just lying here.”

“Working until 2 in the morning?” 

“Fair point,” Shadow admitted. He’d gone down another internet rabbit hole. Something wasn’t right about this place, and Four knew it too. He just needed to figure out what.

“I guess…well, I’ve been having trouble sleeping lately,” Four said.

“Yeah, I knew,” Shadow replied. “You’ve been more distant, taking longer to respond- you’re not taking care of yourself, Four. Have you even been eating enough?” He llifted a strand of hair out of Four’s face. “What’s going on?”

Four didn’t reply for a few moments. “I…I’m not sure,” he decided. “Got caught up in…other things, and well, it’s just been so busy, I just kind of forgot, you know?”

Shadow nodded. “Yeah. Yeah, I do know.” He pulled Four close, realizing how thin he felt. “Just take care of yourself, alright?”

Four chuckled. “Yeah, okay.”

“Promise?” Shadow teased.

“Okay, okay, I promise!” Four laughed, chucking a pillow at Shadow.

“How’re the…roommates?”

“Housemates, I guess. They’re fine. I haven’t really been up to the third floor, but I am praying that the guy doesn’t have any more rooms. Nine people in a house is enough.”

“No kidding. Who even are they?” Shadow hadn’t seen much of them, he made a point to keep his presence as quiet as possible.

“Well, other than the homeowner…” (Now that guy was someone to look into. What kind of person just lets 8 other people live in his house? Maybe he had a secret desire for kids or something, but these were grown men. He was hoping it wasn’t some sort of weird fetish.) “There’s the kid. Pretty much just hangs in his room all day.”

“You say kid, how old even is he?”

            "Dunno. Young. There's Hyrule, he's the doctor." Shadow figured that was good. The guy seemed trustworthy enough.

            "What about the weird one? He a drug dealer or something?"

            "Probably not. He's got some weird friend that hangs around here sometimes, but they don't bother anyone else." (If he was a drug dealer, Shadow would probably ask Four to come live with him. The risk of being arrested is not something either of them wanted to take.) "The others are pretty alright. There's Wild, he's a bit…well, wild."

             "Mm. Yeah, there's some weird figures here, I've seen that much." Shadow nestled into Four's hair, the blond leaning back against him. "Be careful, Rain, okay?"

             "Of course." 

             They stayed in silence then, Shadow holding Four close to him.

             "I'm glad you're here," Four whispered to him a few minutes later.

             "Me too."

By curiosity, how does the dates work in STTS ? I mean the string of numbers at the beginning of each recording

i'll be honest i thought about that one FAR too much but i was sleep deprived that day and didn't have anything better to do lmao

basically what's going on there is that it's the number of decays since presumably the beginning of the universe, which are measured by the decay of tritium (around 12.32 years). nasa claims the universe is 13.7 billion years, +/- 200 million years, so i picked a number that would fall somewhere within that. according to my notes, i devised this system on 29th December 2022, then picked 1,112,013,029 as my base point (technically i started this system in late 2021? probably novemberish, but i didn't have it fully figured out til later lol)

so all those numbers are supposed to be the age of the universe based on the half-life of a common radioactive ion. the periods used are just to break it up a bit so its easier to say out loud :P

Ok HCs for now but I'm 100% doing a fic of this later. Seriously anon i LOVE Jack's parents & his sister, as you may be able to tell by the lwngth of this 😅.

When he first told his family he was seeing Y/N they were all elated.

Especially considering he'd always talk about them since their first meeting so his feeling were pretty obvious, especially to Papa Rise.

After all he inherited many of his own ways of obsessing over loving his significant other from him so Rise knew the signs when he saw them.

Mama Shine dramatically lamented over her "baby boy" growing up to fast.

"Shine our son is a grown man with a house and a job." Rise will sign with a fond eyeroll.

Jane, who wasn't in town when he called and told her, could be heard stumbling over various items in her excitement.

But that pales in comparison to how happy they are when he says he plans on bringing them to dinner when Jane is in town next.

They'd been dating a few months already and it seemed like a good a time as any to him.

Shine is immediately thinking up a million different plans because it HAS to be perfect, it's her first impression on her future in law after all.

Jane, while not AS high energy as her mother, is also all aboard the hype train.

Meaning it's up to Rise to help reign his wife & daughter in to a more reasonable level.

"I know you're both excited but we don't wanna scare them off or make them uncomfortable".

He's by no means any less excuted but as a non-verbal person with a very vocal high energy family he knows that different people have different thresholds.

So the three compromise on the more reasonable idea of a relaxing game night.

It's something fun most people can enjoy and takes some of the pressure off of having to come up with conversation topics.

As for the food Rise is in charge of that full stop, he made sure to ask Jack for Y/N's favorites.

So with the activities and the meal planned out they all wait for the day circled on their calanders to approach.

When they finally meet Shine can't help but scoop them into a tight hug and exclaim how happy she is to finally meet them.

"Jacks told us so much about ya! You're more adorable in person, don't ya think so Rise?" she beamed at her husband with a smile exactly like her son's.

Luckily Jack told them how excited his family was so they were prepared for the energetic welcome.

By comparison Rise gives them a much calmer welcome before excusing himself to go finish dinner.

"Come ooon Jack you see them literally all the time, give the rest of us a turn." Jane pops up to their side and hooks her arm around theirs to drag them off to the living room.

Anyone else and he would've reacted quite negatively but this man absolutely LOVES his family and is just so happy things are going well.

"So wanna hear some embarrassing stories 'bout my baby brother? I've got tons." Jane teases looking back at Jack & their mother as the twi follow them.

And so they all started chatting over a few funny childhood stories.

Though Jack was mildly embarassed when his sister chimed in with "Bet you would've never guessed the big guy here was a crybaby wgen we were little huh?".

Not much time passed before Rise came back in to let them all know dinner was ready.

"I hope you like everything. Jack told me what you liked so i tried going off of what he told me." Rise signed as they all sat down.

Dinner consisted of much of the typical "meeting your child's partner" conversation.

Them asking Y/N about things like work, theur life and how they met.

Even though Jack most certainly told them most of it already they wanted to hear Y/N's perspective on things.

Once dinner they finished the returned to the living room for a few family favorite board games.

Teams would rotate with someone occasionally sitting out a round to play commentator "Ooh looks like Dad has to go straight to the clink.".

They all had a great time as the night wore on and Jack couldn't help the adoring look that came over his face.

He already knew he wanted to be with them forever but seeing them here, with his family, further cemented in his mind that they belonged together.

And he'd do whatever he needed to make sure they stayed that way, nobody would take his sunshine from him.

I love the way you portrayed Elia's insecurities and her difficulty trying to deal with the truth of where she came from, even that momentary thought where she wanted to be just like Elliott. I feel like that's so accurate to how she would feel after knowing the truth.
