Hey anon, I've been holding onto this message the past 24 for hours because I was feverishly wrapping up a short story for a writing workshop. You asking this really made my day and helped me push through feelings of inadequacy and doubt last night. <3 ty

In short, I do write original fiction! I've written a fair amount of short stories and am currently working on a fantasy novel, which focuses on themes of grief, family, and acceptance. I also like writing adult fantasy horror. And I'm slowly incorporating more of that spookiness into my fanfic.

Thank you so much for the praise and kind words. I admit that sometimes I feel isolated because I think my writing is not fandom-commercial enough, but sweet comments like this and reassurance from my friends and readers help keep me going when things get tough.

Ok HCs for now but I'm 100% doing a fic of this later. Seriously anon i LOVE Jack's parents & his sister, as you may be able to tell by the lwngth of this 😅.

When he first told his family he was seeing Y/N they were all elated.

Especially considering he'd always talk about them since their first meeting so his feeling were pretty obvious, especially to Papa Rise.

After all he inherited many of his own ways of obsessing over loving his significant other from him so Rise knew the signs when he saw them.

Mama Shine dramatically lamented over her "baby boy" growing up to fast.

"Shine our son is a grown man with a house and a job." Rise will sign with a fond eyeroll.

Jane, who wasn't in town when he called and told her, could be heard stumbling over various items in her excitement.

But that pales in comparison to how happy they are when he says he plans on bringing them to dinner when Jane is in town next.

They'd been dating a few months already and it seemed like a good a time as any to him.

Shine is immediately thinking up a million different plans because it HAS to be perfect, it's her first impression on her future in law after all.

Jane, while not AS high energy as her mother, is also all aboard the hype train.

Meaning it's up to Rise to help reign his wife & daughter in to a more reasonable level.

"I know you're both excited but we don't wanna scare them off or make them uncomfortable".

He's by no means any less excuted but as a non-verbal person with a very vocal high energy family he knows that different people have different thresholds.

So the three compromise on the more reasonable idea of a relaxing game night.

It's something fun most people can enjoy and takes some of the pressure off of having to come up with conversation topics.

As for the food Rise is in charge of that full stop, he made sure to ask Jack for Y/N's favorites.

So with the activities and the meal planned out they all wait for the day circled on their calanders to approach.

When they finally meet Shine can't help but scoop them into a tight hug and exclaim how happy she is to finally meet them.

"Jacks told us so much about ya! You're more adorable in person, don't ya think so Rise?" she beamed at her husband with a smile exactly like her son's.

Luckily Jack told them how excited his family was so they were prepared for the energetic welcome.

By comparison Rise gives them a much calmer welcome before excusing himself to go finish dinner.

"Come ooon Jack you see them literally all the time, give the rest of us a turn." Jane pops up to their side and hooks her arm around theirs to drag them off to the living room.

Anyone else and he would've reacted quite negatively but this man absolutely LOVES his family and is just so happy things are going well.

"So wanna hear some embarrassing stories 'bout my baby brother? I've got tons." Jane teases looking back at Jack & their mother as the twi follow them.

And so they all started chatting over a few funny childhood stories.

Though Jack was mildly embarassed when his sister chimed in with "Bet you would've never guessed the big guy here was a crybaby wgen we were little huh?".

Not much time passed before Rise came back in to let them all know dinner was ready.

"I hope you like everything. Jack told me what you liked so i tried going off of what he told me." Rise signed as they all sat down.

Dinner consisted of much of the typical "meeting your child's partner" conversation.

Them asking Y/N about things like work, theur life and how they met.

Even though Jack most certainly told them most of it already they wanted to hear Y/N's perspective on things.

Once dinner they finished the returned to the living room for a few family favorite board games.

Teams would rotate with someone occasionally sitting out a round to play commentator "Ooh looks like Dad has to go straight to the clink.".

They all had a great time as the night wore on and Jack couldn't help the adoring look that came over his face.

He already knew he wanted to be with them forever but seeing them here, with his family, further cemented in his mind that they belonged together.

And he'd do whatever he needed to make sure they stayed that way, nobody would take his sunshine from him.

Vanilla must have quite the dinner guest over at her house if everyone including Shadow comes over to eat. Her house is pretty small as it is so you know it must be packed whenever they have more than a few guests over.

Though Cream must have the time of her life when it does happen since it one of those times she gets to hang out with a majority of them.

All I can picture is Shadow babysitting Cream—also teaching her a few swear words on “accident”—and having tea parties. Oh, and Sonic shows up on occasion in formal attire.

Seriously though, I bet that Vanilla makes the BEST dinners. And I bet your right, my friend. Cream would have the time of her life!

Ahhh thank you so much dear!! Honestly I didn’t write those tags trying to complain or get people to hype me up and I’m so grateful for the feedback I do get but like the stuff I’m most proud of are stuff like Timshel and Halo Effect because damn let me tell you I put like maybe 60 hours of writing into halo effect alone and it took weeks and weeks of writing and rewriting and coming up with different ideas and I’m just like meh it go nowhere near the feedback something like eighteen did. I understand they’re two completely different works and that each of them have a type of people they would draw it but i can’t help but feel slightly discouraged when I see it because that’s just who I am. Either way writing is what I’m most passionate about so even if nobody wants to read my stuff I will still continue to write it because it’s a perfect outlet and tool for me to escape reality in.

“Are you actually real?!” She’s poking at you, squishing your face, pulling your cheeks, prodding at your ears as Kuroi joins in, her hands clasped around your fingers with happy tears in her eyes as they began their onslaught on tears onto the couch.

“I can’t believe it…!” She’s sniffling, the words barely eligible through the extremely grateful, crying tones.

You’ve been getting hounded by the two the moment they quite literally fell over themselves as they burst through the front door, shoes haphazardly thrown off and jumping you the moment you greeted them with the intent of having a lovely catch up over tea and snacks.

Riko is still in shock, hands dropping onto your shoulders, shaking you back and forth vigorously as disbelieved eyes run up and down you over and over, stopping shortly to pinch herself as her brain begins to spin.

“Riko, dear, please do not harm her—“ Kuroi is panicking, dabbing a tissue (courtesy of you) to her face as she loosely attempts to loosen her lady’s hold on you, trying to pry away her hands before any serious injury is dealt.

(She’s not very successful, considering the waterfall of tears from her face.)

“I can assure you she’s plenty real.” Suguru’s gentle voice is all you can hear when he approaches, a hand smoothing out your hair as he leans down to press a kiss to your forehead, tray of tea set down inconspicuously quick in order to reach you.

Riko jumps away instantaneously.

“Blegh, married people!” Riko’s immediately shrinking into herself, hands crossed over her chest as she sticks her tongue out in utter disgust. “Especially with that weird, conman smile of yours!”

“Riko… Insulting our hosts is not—“

“My, you still think that after all these years?” Suguru’s beginning to pull away from you, the smile on his face trembling to keep up its appearance, vein popping on his head as he begins to turn away, only for your hands to reach up and grab his head.

“I think it’s a pretty smile…!” You hope he doesn’t see the sweat that was beginning to form… Your eyes jumping from his enamored gaze stuck on you to an even more disgusted Riko.

(Doesn’t she know this is her chance to run?!)

“Ahhh, Suguru…! I forgot I already ate all the snacks you bought from Osaka!” Satoru is back from scouring through the cabinets, unable to find the treats as a pout is on his face, his hands settling on your shoulders from behind, his body leaned down and cuddling his cheek onto the top of your head.

“Don’t be mad at me? Pleaseeeeee?”

(Holding you like this to him and making puppy dog eyes is bound to make Suguru less angry.)

“This glutton…” Suguru is trying to hold it together as Riko starts arguing with a guiltless Satoru, teary-eyed Kuroi and yourself trying your best to defuse the situation.

“How many fingers am I holding up?!” Haibara’s face is tense, concentrated into one of extreme focus and constipated anticipation, lips bitten in anxiety induced stress as he stares deeply into your gaze.

“She’s real—!” He’s cut off by the sudden smack to the back of his head, a gargled choke coming out before he falls to the floor in mock defeat. “That does not prove anything.”

The heavy drawl of Nanami’s voice sounds out as goggled eyes stare at you, before they’re abruptly pulled off to take in the way your face is turning blank, yet still withholding that innocent smile.

“I still can’t believe it.”

“Ahaha… I get that quite a lot.” You’re scratching your cheek as you really let that feeling sink in, taking a breath in, shimmering eyes opening fully to truly convince yourself.

“But I have to say…” Your eyes take in the older forms of the people around you. “You’ve all grown so beautifully… Care to catch me up to speed about your lives?” The smile on your face is playful and happy, relaxed and at ease.

First of all I need to say that "For the love of a kingdom" is so good, I just love the world building and how we had a focus on the carranan bond in the early chapters. Now that that's out of the way...

I want Perrington dead!!!!!

I wanted this for the last few chapters but chapter 16 just bought a whole different level of hatred towards that disgusting piece of shit, I thought only STT Arobynn by @morganofthewildfire could make me react this way but you proved me wrong, I want Perrington to have a slow and painful death, but like very slow and very painful and even then I don't think it'll be enough compared to everything he put Aelin through.

The carranam bond was an experiment. In the book it focuses a lot on the mating bond. The carranam just get mentioned briefly and then appears again when they have to use it. I have decided to make it important. Little spoiler, but Rowan will use it to help Aelin mentally recover from her Endovier ordeal.I just wanted to give it more importance that it got in canon. It was fun.

Perrington... oh the slimy bastard. I am glad he evokes such strong feelings, it means I have done my job. Also I am honoured you compared him to @morganofthewildfire Hamel's in STT... because I have very strong feeling of hate towards him too. Perrington will pay... I just don't know how yet. FTLOAK is my problem child at the moment. I am stuck in terms of plot and how to resolve things. This was not meant to be a long fic, but even so I need to find a satisfactory way to deal with the bad guys. Eventually it will come and when it does, don't worry... Perrington will be the one to suffer the most. There's a few people ready to skin him alive already so it shouldn't be so hard.
