Here are two takes of the idea of a couple kissing with one lifting their leg behind while doing so, using two unofficial Sing pairings. The first one was done in January when I was a-buzz with giving several ideas to the MoonLane pairing. Months later, I came up with a second take with the two Redshore canine women, which I assume will be more popular than the first.

Why? Because Illumination doesn't see her having fun with kids!

The plot of the movies themselves wouldn't really change much, just adding in some pokémon details and world building, so the storyline is essentially the same. The time between and after the movies are where the real change would be.

Ps. I took this to mean all Redshore characters, hence why they're all here.

The Crystals:

Crystal Entertainment Enterprises does also exist in this AU and they do still run a theatre! They produce shows and musicals with people and pokémon and have their own tv network, magazine, etc. However, they also run the Crystal Gym, which is actually an Ice Type gym despite the environment of Redshore! Jimmy is the gym leader and Porsha is training under hi to take over his role as well as the CEO of CEE.

Jerry Swell:

Jerry is still Jimmy's assistant and also the substitute gym leader when Jimmy does not want to battle. He fills essentially the same role he does in the movie but with pokémon and occasionally battles. Jerry is also still the COO of CEE.

Suki Lane:

She also continues to fill her role as CCO of CEE as well as being the main point of communications with Jimmy himself, needing her to arrange matches with Jimmy or Jerry for the gym. Nothing really changes from the movie, again just add pokémon.

Klaus Kickenclobber:

The dance school does still exist but it's actually now a dance and performing school, training up performers instead of just dancers. Klaus is the same guy however, and nothing about him really changes.

Ryan Willis:

The top performer of the Kickenclobber Troupe, Ryan's role has not changed much, though he is now known as last year's finalist for top performer in the country and is aiming to the crown this year again! He is also now kinda known by the troupe beforehand because this and is much more well known publicly outside just the dance sphere like he is in the movie.

Nooshy Peart:

Nooshy is still a street performer, however, this is mainly due to them not liking the formality of actual showcases. She retains the same role and essentially everything from the movie, just adding pokémon and why they're not in the professional sphere.

Clay Calloway:

Still a reclusive musician, but he did do some light performing before starting into the music sphere. However, functionality wise, his character and story does not really change, just adding in pokémon.

Ruby Calloway:

While Ruby was still a manger for performers, she also was a trainer when she was young and made it to the last rounds in the championship several times.

Alfonso Romano-Hassan:

He is a vendor in the Crystal Gym food court and also has a lot of ice types! Alfonso doesn't really change much though, just now is explicitly in a a contract with CEE.

Harry Ochieng:

Harry is still a hypnotist but is also a psychic specialized performer contracted to CEE. His role in the movie and short remain the same though, besides a few bonus interactions.

Darius Andeno:

Darius is another frequently contracted performer. His role does not really change much though he is now explicitly contracted a lot due to his mother's position on CEE's board of directors. Oh yeah, and is dating Harry.

Of course, I can! This is such a cute idea and I’m actually glad you requested a Johnny x Reader, cause tbh, Johnny is honestly my favorite character in the Sing franchise 😂

It's actually been a hot minute since I've written anything for Sing so I might be a little rusty on this one-shot, I used to write Sing one-shots on Wattpad when the first movie came out, but I don't think Sing was as popular as it was before the sequel came out, which is why I'm so glad it's getting more attention! Both Sing movies are just so good :D

So since you didn't state what animal the reader should be, I just took it upon myself to actually just make their species a Great Pyrenees, which is a breed of a dog if anyone was wondering, also, the reader uses she/her pronouns!

This also takes place after the events of Sing 2, so…

Johnny couldn't help but glance at the (F/C) canine as she warmed up her voice onstage alongside Porsha. The group was back from their show in The Majestic Palace, and Buster and Gunter was already working on their newest show.

(Y/N) had a slight smile on her face as she continued on, walking around the stage, holding a music sheet in her hands whilst Porsha just stood still, re-reading her music as well.

"See anything interesting, Johnny?"

He jolted at the sudden voice next to him, he looked down to see Ash look at him with a slight smirk, holding her guitar case. He scoffed at that, focusing back on what he was doing, which was packing up and getting ready to go home. "Ha ha, very funny, Ash."

"So, who is it? Porsha or (Y/N)?"

He hesitated for a minute, before mumbling; "...(Y/N)."

"Oh thank god. I would have asked Clay to spray you with a water hose if it was Porsha." Ash chuckled, leaning up against the wall, Johnny let a small grow on his face. "You uh... got any advice on... Y-You know..."

"Considering the fact my last relationship resulted in my boyfriend cheating on me, it's probably not a good idea to take advice from me." She raised an eyebrow.

"That's... probably true..." He admitted, nodding.

"But hey, (Y/N)'s a cool chick, so I'm sure she'll like you back." The porcupine clicked her tounge at Johnny with a wink. "Good luck, I'm out."

"See you tomorrow, Ash." Johnny said, looking back at the fluffy dog, she was now finally rehearsing the actual lyrics. He sighed deeply before grabbing his skateboard and heading out the door himself.

Buster, Gunter, and Suki watched from their front row seats in the audience, their faces completely focused on the performance in front of them. (Y/N) was in a flowy (F/C) skirt that came above her knees, a white over-the-shoulder sweater with a black tank top underneath, and brown combat boots.

Porsha was wearing what looked like a black tuxedo but was altered so the jacket was open to reveal a pale yellow vest over a black collar shirt, a black pencil skirt, black tights, black heels, white gloves, and a white bow-tie, as well as a black fedora with a yellow stripe around it.

Since the scene was supposed to have a rainy atmosphere, the setting and backdrop were made to look like a grey cityscape, so there were lit street lamp posts and benches, and above them there were showerheads, letting water drizzle onto the stage like rain falling from the sky, and because of that, the two girls had umbrellas, Porsha having a yellow transparent one and (Y/N) having an (F/C) transparent one.

The two ran through their number, being careful of their steps so that they wouldn't injure themselves on the now slippery surface, Porsha hanging off the pole and spinning around on it, holding her arm out whilst (Y/N) spun around as well.

The koala sighed at the performance. "Something is off on the performance, but I don't really know what it is..."

"You think so?" Gunter questioned, looking at him, making him nod, blue eyes glancing at him then back at the performance.

"The girls work great together, look good side by side, their voices..." Suki mumbled before the three looked at each other in realization.

"Their voices don't work together."

"So, who could we swap with Porsha?" Suki question, looking at her notes.

"We could use Rosita, ja?" The male pig asked with an excited smile, making Moon shake his head. "No, no, Rosita has too much of a soft voice for them to work together... We need a person who could learn the choreography as soon as possible, and their voices need to mesh well together."

"And using that information, the only logical person would be..." Suki thought tilting her head to the side and placing a hand on her cheek.

“You want us to what?!"

"We're gonna perform... together?!"

The two were red in the face as they stood next to each other backstage, their eyes wide. Apparently, the person the trio came up with was Johnny, which would usually not be a problem, but when it the number was with his crush?

Needless to say, they both were pretty flustered.

"You guys would work so well together! Just think! It would look amazing!" Moon said with a smile, Suki nodding along with him.

The two glanced at each other, not too sure about this, but it wasn't like they had much of a choice, and they really didn't have enough time to argue about it, the show was going to be performed in 3 weeks after all.

"So, that being said, Johnny, you'll need to check in with Nooshy for the choreography, and after that's finished, we gotta get you fitted for a whole new costume."

"R-Right, Ok..." Johnny nodded, hesitantly agreeing, making the other pair nod and walk away to continue planning, leaving the gorilla and canine in very awkward silence.

"S-So Uhm... I-If you uh... need any help with the choreography, I uh.. I can y-you know..." (Y/N) mumbled her tail swishing, making Johhny turn to her and clear his throat. "Y-Yeah! Of course! T-Thanks."

"N-No problem." She smiled. "Can't wait to work with you."

"S-same here." The gorilla smiled back, watching her walk away with a lovestruck gaze.

Maybe this wouldn't be so bad after all.

Okay, it was definitely bad.

The two were completely flushed red in the face as they stood next to each other backstage, nervously jittering or pacing as they waited for their cue, the pair feeling very awkward and nervous at the same time.

Their cue was soon called, and before Johnny went out on stage, (Y/N) lightly grabbed his wrist, making his eyes meet her (E/C) ones.

"L-let's do our best out there tonight, okay?"

'Oh my god, she is so cute-'

"R-Right."

And with that, the two went out there, pushing back the fear and nervousness and well, just performing with the music and with themselves, smiles on their faces, and once they struck that final pose together,

The moment never felt so right.

They quickly got out of position and headed straight backstage, where the canine quickly turned and jumped into Johnny's arms, the two laughing as he spun her around.

"You were amazing!"

"You were amazing!"

The two blinked at each other as they said the exact thing at the same time, making them laugh again.

As soon as Johnny settled his chuckles, he took a deep breath; "(Y-Y/N), I was wondering... If you're not busy this Wednesday... M-Maybe we could just have lunch...J-Just the two of us?"

She looked at him with wide eyes with a flushed face, before smiling at him and saying one thing;

"That would be just perfect, Johnny.”

This is a meme reflecting my opinions on possible (yet at the same time not possible, depending on writers' decisions) pairings for the Sing franchise, using MLPFAN3991's meme base.

Seriously, nothing on God's Earth, not even Jimmy being redeemed, will make me ship Suki with him! I don't care if they're both canines, I don't care if her clear sense can help him see the light, I don't care if people think Cannavale and Peretti's voices blend together (and I certainly am not one of those people). I'd rather have Suki paired with Buster, or if you want her to be with a canine in the Crystal family (or to be progressive), then it should be Porsha (even though that pairing's not as cute as the former).

Four Reasons I Don't Support Suki x Marcus

There is another Sing ship involving the Saluki which I can't stop thinking about or continuing to be tortured by: shipping her with Johnny's dad!

These words cannot escape my mind from the video of Illumination taking risks: "The company is 'going to have to evolve. We can have a commitment strategy to movies as a cinema-going experience and we can layer other business on top of that. There are topics of conversation right now that are very relevant to what we're doing in the future that get into areas that potentially might not please everyone. I think you have to honor the stories that you tell, honor the choices that your filmmakers make, and you have to be willing to not have everybody pleased all the time."

And since high-grossing franchises are constantly milked, that means they'll need new stories and new material, including ones that fans aren't doing yet. Plus, as Illumination insists on animal behavior, it makes sense for a gentle giant like a gorilla to be protective towards a Saluki, one of the most timid dog breeds of all, so that's one "open-minded/I'm not a judgy bastard who should be sentenced to damnation" perspective, and yet, I can't stand the idea of them being romantic partners any more than her and Jimmy being romantic partners.

Here are the four reasons:

1. They've too big an age gap

Okay, Suki is either in her 20's or early 30's, and Marcus...well, most of the characters' ages here aren't clear, but I assume he's in his mid-40's or 50's. And I realize that Sing lacks pairings with the man being two-three decades older than the woman and "HAS TO BE relevant to real life in all ways", but do they really need that? And yes, Johnny could have a stepmom in his life, but does it have to be a woman close to HIS age?

2. They lack the chemistry

Seriously, who thinks Chelsea Peretti and Peter Serafinowicz would have any chemistry?

3. It spells old-fashioned stereotype

I know strong men would be a good shoulder for tough women to be there as a shoulder and make them feel stronger and make them feel more human, but does it have to imply the strong man is as strong as one of those weight-lifters at the circus? Skinny guys can be strong in some way too. And a lot of women today aren't interested in beefcakes, which brings me to this reason:

4. It destroys her better judgement

In her first few minutes of the film, she comes off as this pretty-dresser who comes from the squeaky clean big city and is hard to please (FOR ENTERTAINMENT, btw!) and because she's a lackey for someone muscular and well-dressed (Jimmy) and is loyal throughout the film, due to dogs being loyal, until she betrays him, everyone just automatically assumes she only likes high-quality individuals as much as high-quality shows. Shows and individuals are two different things. Why throw it away other than just to make Ash, Meena, Rosita, Nooshy, and Porsha the girls you want to like that aren't picky?

She has potential to be liked by someone not taller than her and for her to reasonably like them back. That's realistic and not as superficial.

And I can stand the idea of Marcus finding someone to replace Johnny's late mom, just not if it means destroying the mentioned potential Suki had with other characters, or better yet, maybe not have Johnny's mom dead after all. Incidentally, what is it with Illumination and not having characters' spouses present? Marcus, Jimmy Crystal, Clay Calloway (that I can excuse), and we cannot completely conclude that Buster's mom is dead too.

I seriously hope Illumination doesn't force them into being so. I can handle it being done in fanfictions, but not in actual canon because that means they'd have to be canon in every universe (like how Mickey and Minnie are a couple in every universe and so on with other cartoon couples).

It was real fun doing this with y'all!! Could you believe this has been going on for a whole 20 days? I sure can't. (There has been some off-days on the poll but shhhh aushasd)

After a lot of back and forth, Meena manages to beat Gunter by one single vote! Meena moves on while Gunter stays behind, proving that underdogs can win in the end. Gunter: 9 votes (47%) | Meena: 10 votes (53%)
