making a sunflower granny square phone bag! the bag will have a cross-body shoulder strap, and consist of 4 granny squares. yes my phone IS that big. i hate it. i have very dainty hands
here's the ravelry page where i keep my notes! you can also find the pattern for the squares there, but the concept of turning it into a bag is my own, so that is not explained that well

Friendship with ‘trying to learn embroidery’ is over (for now, French knots are hard)
New friendship started with ‘trying to learn crochet’ (I’m buying yarn either today or tomorrow and a friend’s gonna teach me some basics via videocall)

A Determined Red Geranium Yeehawgust Day 15 (late) - Desert Rose [IMG ID A mixed media painting, mostly watercolor-ink, of a red geranium plant growing out of a patch of dry desert soil next to some broken bits of a former beer bottle. In the background is a rusted metal wall. / END IMG ID.] I honestly do not know if a geranium would be able to survive a very dry environment with poor soil and no care, but maybe some of the seeds for the things on Project SEEDS were genetically-enhanced. I like to think that some of Rem's seeds and cuttings might have survived the Big Fall and just sprout up in random places.

crafting things for people is very fun but the problem is if the thing I'm making turns out kind of mediocre then I don't want to give it to someone bc embarrassment but if it turns out really really nice then I want to keep it for myself

So uh
Guess who impulsively made a crafting blog.
I'm mostly gonna use this space to reblog/save cool crafts/patterns, talk about what I'm doing once in a blue moon, and if I ever make a pattern I'll probably share it here.
But uh. Yeah!

i think i need to start approaching my other creative projects with the same reckless, hopeful, totally unfounded confidence i use when browsing patterns on ravelry
do i have the experience required for this pattern? no, but i can figure it out, probably. do the balls of yarn i possess match the suggested yardage? nah, but who really needs their pullover to be that long, anyway. they recommend like a thousand-ish yards but i'll bet i can do it in 500 if i halve the torso and use the wrong needle size
