Your North and South posts have left me y e a r n i n g so now I have to watch it, obviously 🤭

YOU GOTTA WATCH IT, it's very good. I've been into Castlevania lately and Richard Armitage voices Trevor, and Sanditon was just announced as renewed, so those two things finally inspired to sit down and actually watch North and South. It's the perfect level of yearning. The male romantic lead John Thornton reminds me of a mixture of Mr. Darcy and Sidney Parker, where he's filled with Mr. Darcy's misunderstanding, confusion, and failed marriage proposals, but also has Sidney's piss-poor attitude and anger issues. And Margaret Hale reminds me of Elizabeth Bennet and Charlotte Heywood where she's got Elizabeth's strong drive and independence (as well as a desire not to marry) but also Charlotte's innocence and naivety to love.

these people have bought so deeply into the idea that any random woman is their possession - belongs to them to command, shame, pass judgment on, tell what to ship

and it’s like: when have you, random internet stranger, given me an ounce of the pleasure that thinking about tissaia railing yennefer does? you have not, therefore you have no right to tell me what to do.

strangers have no right to come up to women and tell them what to do based on exactly nothing. i get where the confusion comes from: we’re all acculturated into misogyny. but it’s bs.

Not really. I dont watch french movies bec no plot seems interesting enough to me.About the tv shows, there are only comedy shows or shows about cops so not much choice out there lol

Good one! I would be so intimidated by Rosario (in good ways, she’s just so cool) but I could make myself useful, so I’d help her move.

I’d go to Ikea with Zip, because wow! We could be done in like, two minutes! There’s a cafeteria for her to get some food, even.

And I’d Netflix binge with Maks. We’d watch all the best queer stuff and eat lots of fun and cute snacks.

ok first of all i absolutely hated all the reylo teasing and how the story tried to make the audience feel sympathetic towards space nazi kylo ren. oh so luke thought about killing kylo ren? boohoo it still doesn’t justify killing and torturing a bunch of other people, his own father included.

i especially hated how rey (!!!) of all people would feel any sympathy towards him when this guy literally tortured and injured her and her friends and killed her newfound father figure right in front of her in cold blood. he’s not even related to her like he was to han and luke was to vader to justify her wanting to find good in him, he’s just some random guy who made her suffer in several different occasions. she has no reason to feel bad for him, especially not after having heard just one sob story from him. i loved rey’s rage in tfa and in the beginning of tlj, but i feel like her character was butchered just to uplift kylo ren.

that shirtless scene? how the fuck was that even necessary other than to just tease reylo? wtf

their hands touching? i almost puked in the movie theater.

like, i can accept rey and kylo ren being allies temporarily, but why the fuck was rian johnson hinting at romance in their scenes? cuz i don’t see these scenes playing out in the same way if rey was a man. i saw rey and crylo’s force bond kinda like the link between harry and voldemort, but you don’t see any weird moments with shirtless voldemort and hand touching wtf.

on the bright side, this movie showed that kylo ren only cares about himself and killed and buried any possibility of reylo ever happening, so i’ll sue lucasfilm if i have to see any ship teasing between him and rey again.

also i hated how finn and rose’s mission accomplished literally nothing. they deserve better than that. their kiss felt forced and an attempt of making a straight ship happen because finnpoe is so popular. still i loved finn and i loved rose and rose’s sister death had more emotional impact than all of the deaths in rogue one combined imo.

i think these are my major complaints lol. i absolutely loved pretty much everything else. i liked that snoke died and kylo ren has been consolidated as the major villain now. his chance of redemption is gone and i want his ass to be completely obliterated in the next movie.

i loved the humor, the photography, the actions scenes and bunch of other stuff, but for me the biggest star in this movie was luke. i LOVED him in this movie (despite disagreeing that he’d even contemplate the idea of killing leia and han’s son but ok). lastly, i loved seeing carrie fisher for one last time :’( that homage to her in the end killed me.
