That's How I Know Taylor Swift
It was the summer of 2009, I was in the 5th grade. My sister had come home for her vacation. Her friend came over to exchange home assignments and also transfer some new music collection to our PC. Those were the days of PCs and pendrives. I had this curiosity to sit by the PC when someone was working on it and observe carefully whatever was being done–the files transferred, the keyboard shortcuts used and the entire technological mechanism seemed enthralling to me since always. As her friend, whom I called Dada (Brother) was doing his work, I kept staring at the monitor and kept tracking all the new music folders that were being pasted on our PC. Dada asked, " Do you listen to Western music? I have some cool collection". My sister was least interested because she was a Hindustani Classical singer and listened to Hindi songs only. My eleven-year old mind was open to some novelty. I said "Transfer whatever new music you have". My sister was crazy about the Twilight movie which was a huge phenomenon back then. She read the novel in her hostel and became a fan of Edward Cullen a.k.a Robert Pattinson. But it was difficult to watch the movie without the subtitles, obviously.
Having exchanged their assignments which was to be submitted to their school after the vacation, Dada left – left me fascinated to explore the brand new music, the Western music!
I was also being trained in Hindustaani Classical music along with my sister but I was always highly intrigued by the west; never quite had any exposure to it....and this was my golden opportunity to unlock the treasure!
I sat down and began my treasure hunt. My sister got busy with her projects and I, opening every folder that was created on the PC on a lookout for the music files. And finally found a folder which contained songs by various Western artists whose names I had never even heard of. There was Akon, Enrique, Owl City, Elvis Presley, Bryan Adams and all these were so, so new to me. I began playing those songs one by one and was so deeply moved by their musicality. But I couldn't comprehend the lyrics. We had BSNL broadband back then which gave 1 GB of data for monthly usage. It was a huge thing, I must say. I Googled and discovered azlyrics.com and lo! My work was half done. I played those songs on Windows Media Player and read the lyrics from the Chrome browser. And that was my entry to the world of Western music.
Akon 's "I'm So Paid" was a regular on-loop on my Philips mp3 player. Also, listened to "Lonely" and other hits by Akon. And then, I grooved to Summer of '69, Blue Suede Shoes, I Want It That Way, Somebody's Me, and several other superhits by various Western artists of the time.
One day, I found a folder that had some songs by female artists. There was a song titled "Butterfly Fly Away" and "I Miss You" by Miley Cyrus. Well, I had no idea who she was but I played those songs anyway. These songs were comparatively easier to understand and sing along. So, reading the lyrics from the browser tab, I began singing along. And that's how I learnt singing Western song!
Now, I was greedy to explore more female artists from the Western world. And then I found a video folder. God I tell you, that was the hidden treasure unlocked!
I found the music videos of Taylor Swift!!!
There were videos of Crazier, White Horse, Teardrops on my Guitar, Love Story, You Belong With Me and a few other. I was so deeply fascinated and enthralled and moved and touched by her voice that I decided she's going to be the Inspiration to my Western singing....and there was no looking back.
To understand her music, I didn't need azlyrics.com because she was so fluent and easy on her diction and pronunciation that I quickly understood and caught up with her songs. The soft melody in her voice and the beauty in her lyricals were just incredible to me. I instantly fell in deep love and admiration for Taylor Swift.
Next up, I began Googling other songs by her– her albums , latest releases and also her photos for my desktop wallpaper! She was my obsession, my guide, my mentor, my friend and most of all, my Guru. She was and is with me through the best of times and the darkest of phases. She has been my constant.
She taught me to be Fearless and to Speak Now without being so conscious of the Reputation built in people's minds. She left a Blank Space in my heart which is only to be filled by her. She inspired me to survive through the darkest Midnights and make it up with any Bad Blood. She has my heart and soul, and I know it All too Well.
Fun fact: I performed her songs playing the guitar in school and college events. Crazier being the first one, followed by Safe and Sound, Red, and several more to go!

11th Year Of The Big Miracle❤️❤️❤️😊😊😊
This miracle happened through a great story.
My Bachchanji, My Idol
I do not know when I started liking and became a fan of a legend like Amitabh Bachchan but all I know is that this love for him got me a chance to meet him. However, it is a great story. As a child I didn't like Hindi movies at all. I used to fight for the Tv remote while my sister was watching Hindi movies and songs.
Once like this when she was watching a Hindi movie, I came to her. My sister understood that my aim was tv remote. She said to me "Aishu, this movie will end now and then you can see what ever you want". I reluctantly agreed. I also sat watching the movie with my sister. At that time she was watching the super hit movie 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'. My sister told me the meaning of each dialogue as I did not understand the meaning of Hindi language. I liked the story too. She told the name of each actors and actress who acted in it. That's how I understood Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. That movie stuck in my mind. I became a fan of Shah Rukh and Kajol. Slowly I also started watching Hindi movies and songs and my sister used to tell me the meaning of the dialogues.
One day I saw Bachchanji's movie for the first time. At that time I was bedridden for four months because of my leg injury. During that time, the superhit movie 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham' starring Srk and Kajol as a pair was telecasted on Sony Max.
All the songs in that movie are my favorite. During our journey to school ,those songs were often played on the school bus. That's how I got familiar with that movie and songs.
That's when I saw a tall white man with long gray hair parted on both sides and a french beard in that movie.
I have seen him in most of the movies and songs, but just don't know who. He is playing the lead role in this movie. Very serious acting. A strict father figure. I saw his film for the first time that day. I really liked his acting in the movie at first sight.
I asked my sister, "Sister, who is this?" She said. "That's Amitabh Bachchan. He's the greatest actor in Hindi cinema."
I think I became a fan of Bachchanji because I watched the movie 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham' a few times and saw his performance in it. At first I thought he was very rude and strict. When I heard 'Young Angry Man' again I was sure it was right.
But every time I watch his movie, I become a big fan of him. I was amazed by his acting skills and he excels in any role. Both comedy and serious roles are just silly to him. I wondered how this is possible? I always have this thought. And that's when I saw Bachchanji's game show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' for the first time on TV. His humble interaction with all the contestants, his humorous interactions and his demeanor in the rest of the program made me admire Bachchanji all over again.
When I was studying in 8th class.I saw a dream.
Someone was knocking on my door and when I opened it, Amitabh Bachchan was right in front of me. Sitting and having dinner with me. Telling jokes. Sitting and watching movies with me. Suddenly that dream was over. I got up and there was something happy in my mind. Since then I had a desire in my mind. Somehow I want to meet and talk to Bachchanji. I told my friend about this. She made fun of me. She said she will show me the photo. I wanted to see him in person.
Because of my admiration for him, I started collecting his photos wherever I saw them. Many people made fun of me for that. But I didn't care.
At the time I was studying in 12th. Once I was reading a magazine and saw that a perfume named 'Amitabh B' was launched in the market under Bachchanji's name. Whenever I go to a store, I search for that perfume. But I didn't get that perfume. Then I thought to myself "I won't get it here, only in Bombay" and stopped searching for it. So once,I went to the perfume section of a shop and saw the perfume 'Amitabh B' that I was looking for. I told my mother to get it for me. I didn't get it that day. I was saddened by it. I quarreled with my mother that day. After a few days I forgot about it. I joined my mother again. But mother did not forget about that perfume. Once when I came home from school, my mother put that perfume on my hand. I can't express how happy I was when I got it. I kissed my mother and gave her some hugs.
My admiration for him increased day by day. And I realized that Bachchanji's voice is great for singing too. Every song he sang made me happy. All those songs became my favorite.
Someone once told me that "If you search on Google you will get his contact number". As soon as I heard, me and my tuition teacher, Anu Chechi, searched on the old Yahoo site. But there is no result. I was sad again. Anu Chechi reassured me that God will surely fulfill my wish someday.
I told my mother. Mother said "Aishu. This is not possible by us. We don't even know the language to go there. It won't work". I was very sad. So I thought "Why not act as a heroine in a movie with Bachchan ji? So the dream of acting came in my mind. Meanwhile, Bachchanji is acting in the movie 'Kandahar' with our Lalettan. That's when I saw an advertisement saying that Bachchanji is coming to Asianet Filmfare. Then surely he will come to Kerala and then I will see him in person. Parents promised me that they would take me there and show him. My mind fill with joy. I want to take atleast one photo with him. So I sat thinking and dreaming. But fate was still against me. A week later, when I was reading the newspaper, I saw the news on the movie page and my heart sank.
Asianet Life Achievement Award to Amitabh Bachchan, the legendary actor of Indian cinema. With photo. That too at the award ceremony held in Kochi. That hope was gone and I burst into tears. When that award ceremony came on TV, I watched it in tears. I cried remembering my fate. Because I hoped so much. I longed to meet a great actor like him, even though the opportunity came so close, I cried thinking that I didn't get that luck.
When I went to school, my friends also made fun of me. "Did you go and see Amitabh Bachchan? Did you talk to him?" I was very sad when I heard that.
I repeated my grief to my mother. Mother was also sad.
At that time, one day, like God, minister k c joseph sir came to meet my father. But then father was not at home that time . Then, while he was talking to my mother, he looked for me. Then my mother told him that I was sad.
He told me "don't worry. Let's see if Uncle can do something about it" and left me calm.
A week later, at night, a text message came on my mother's keypad mobile phone. I couldn't believe my eyes when I looked. The message reads "Hi Aishwarya, so glad to know you are my big fan. Surely we will meet in person sometime. Be happy - Amitabh Bachchan".
But I couldn't send a message back. Because that msg came on a number like a code. I couldn't sleep that day. I can't believe this. Is this the same message sent by Bachchanji? Or is someone tricking me? I lay down thinking that.
Was this message sent by Bachchanji? Will I ever meet him?
That thought really bothered my mind. Can't eat, sleep or study. Always the same thought.
Another day there was a message on my mother's phone again." Don't worry about me. If I have become anything, it is because of education. So study well. Amitabh Bachchan."
Even then I could not sleep.
Is this also sent by Bachchanji? Is someone trying to trap me again? The doubt came in my mind again.
One day kc sir called my father and said "Mohan, get ready to go to Mumbai. Amitabh Bachchan said that he would give an opportunity to meet him at his office on July 17th or 19th. I will call you after confirming the correct date. Anyway, it will be this week."
Hearing this, my whole body froze with happiness for a moment. I quickly took a big diary and started pasting the photos of Bachchanji with my cousins. The first page was left blank to get his autograph signed on it. And in the rest of the pages, his photographs were stuck. By then, kc sir called and informed that the date has been confirmed on 19th July. Immediately my father went to the railway station to book a ticket to Bombay.
We went out to get Bachchanji a gift. We found a perfect gift for him and packed it perfectly as well!
I waited until July 19th. On 17th July we boarded the train to Mumbai. The thrill of traveling by train for the first time and going to see Bachchanji made me happy.
I made some questions in my mind to ask him. But a fear and doubt came in my mind. Will he talk to me? He will look at me for a moment and smile, he will not say anything for a long time, he will be busy because he is a great actor. So some thoughts. Every Hindi movie comes to my mind when I saw Mumbai city.
So it was July 19th. That's when I really saw Mumbai.
My heart was beating faster as Juhu gets closer. I am going to meet the person I most wanted to meet in my life. The time is given at 6 pm. It's 5:30, the road is horrendously busy and the traffic jam is making me tense and thinking that I will lose the opportunity I have been hoping for a long time. Mom calmed me down. Our car is moving slowly along Juhu road after the rush. A whole part of that road were the bungalows of big VIPs in mumbai. We were looking for a bungalow in it. Amitabh Bachchan's office is actually in that bungalow. First we saw Bachchanji's bungalow. But the gate of that bungalow is modeled to look like old wood. So we didn't take that bungalow too seriously. Finally we showed the address we had to the security guard sitting in front of the gate. He said this is the address of this bungalow. 'Janak' was engraved on a wooden board on the wall next to the gate. My heart started pounding again and my hands were cold with anxiety. The security did not allow us to go inside, no matter how many times we asked him. Finally we said "aiswarya from kerala" then he said "aiswarya woh kerala ladki aao aao" and took us inside. There is very tight security inside. We stepped inside the bungalow and it was a heavenly experience. The things sitting there are also very expensive and beautiful. We sat on a sofa there. Then one of his staff took us upstairs. There are Bachchanji's childhood pictures and movie posters everywhere. My mind was filled with joy. There I saw a large beautiful white marble idol of Lord Ganesha. While we were looking at it and the photos, another staff took us to the main office room. All there are photos of Bachchanji and his family. And the camera and lights used in his debut film are kept securely polished there. My heart is still racing. We were given a time of 6 o'clock. But he was late in coming. As I sit down and forget everything in my eagerness to see him, those who came with me stand up with great respect. While thinking what they are getting up for.
A man came up saying sorry with a serious voice. When I look, there comes Amitabh Bachchan, the legendary hero of Indian cinema whom I admire and love the most. When I watch him, every scenes of his acting is flashed like a screen in front of me. I wondered if I was dreaming. I ran and touched his feet and saluted him. I gifted him a unique "Chundan Vallam" in Kerala and honored him with a white "Neriat". I can't reach him because of his height. When he understood that, he smiled and bowed a little for me. Then he called us to take some photos. I stood next to him. As the advertisement says, a thousand laddus burst in my mind. After that he came to talk to me. I can't believe any of this. Calm and charming eyes, beautiful smile.
Seeing him in person is just like seeing him in the movie.
I want to call Bachchanji but my voice doesn't come out because of my anxiety. I plucked up courage and called out "bachchanji". Then he said "yes" and smiled at me.
I asked him "Bachchanji I want to touch you" he said "Ok" and held out his hand. When I touched him he looked at me with a smirk. Everything seemed like a dream. I showed him my diary with lots of photos of him and he was very happy to see it all and started writing an autograph for me. Meanwhile he wrote my name and said "oh aiswarya...mera baahu ka naam" with a smile.
Seeing his photos in my diary, he smiled happily and said, "These are all my photos". I said "yes" with a smile.
Then my mother said, "she would collect and preserve your photos wherever she finds them" hearing this Bachanji looked at me and smiled.
Then I said " Bachchanji,I want to act with you". Then he said "Go study well and be smart. We can act for sure." I was overwhelmed with joy when I heard that. I asked him again. His phone no. I thought he wouldn't give me his phone number. But completely opposite to what I thought, he told me, " I have several phone numbers and often times, I keep changing them and you might not be able to contact me. So you can get my main number from the office. I would be glad to talk with you sometime, okay?". When I heard that, my mind froze with happiness. Then Bachchan ji spoke to my parents. When he came to know that my father was an Ayurvedic physician, he said that he had back pain and wanted my father's treatment. So he took our number. Then we talked for a while. The meeting time was given as 15 minutes. But we talked for an hour. Meanwhile my phone unknowingly rang the ringtone and it was his voice, the song "eklo chalo re" he sang. He looked at me happily and said "Oh my song".
So it was time for him to go. I wish I could have extended the time a bit more. The happiness of such a busy and great actor spending his time with us, relieved my heart. I told him to let his family know my regards. While folding his palms together to bid goodbye , he assured me that he would let them know the same.
When he left, I felt that my heart was very heavy. To catch the very last glimpse of his, I stood beside the door, but unfortunately could not see him for the last time.
Everyone came out of the bungalow happy to see him. I realized that my doubts and fears were in vain. Actor Amitabh Bachchan is such a calm and gentle person. He entered into the room saying his apologies for being late. Though we were only allowed to have 15 minutes with him, he spent almost an hour with us. Without even a speck of haughtiness of star fame. And this down to earth and humble behaviour only increased my adoration and love for him. Dear Bachchanji, you are my evergreen hero.❤️❤️❤️😘😘😘🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 @srbachchan #srbachchan
