BOL4

Bolbbalgan4, aussi connu sous les noms Blushing Youth, Bolppalgan Puberty ou encore BOL4, est un duo sud-coréen formé par Shofar Music en 2016. Elles sont apparues dans Superstar K6 en 2014 avant de signer un contrat avec leur agence actuelle. Le duo est composé de Ahn Ji-young et Woo Ji-yoon.

Personality and traits:

Yuvin is very sweet, talkative, witty and an easy going guy. -> Very friendly and makes friends easily. -> Has a bright and relaxed aura. -> Sweet and bubbly personality. -> Is literally just a big puppy/baby.

Can come off as a bit cold because of his humor. He loves to joke around and make fun of and annoy his friends. -> Enjoys bullying both his hyungs and dongsaengs. -> Has no shame and can be very blunt, but in a funny way.

Does really well in variety shows because of his fun personality.

Some says he both acts and looks like Seventeen’s Mingyu.

Yuvin sang OST «You To The Bone» with BTOB’s Minhyuk.

Can come off as quite a good english speaker because he speaks with confidence, but his english is okay.

An emotional guy. He cried just thinking and talking about his mother and family.

Doesn’t mind skinship and tends to initiate it.

If Yuvin ran out of underwear, he stole clean ones from the other members in Myteen.

Said to be quite messy and doesn’t seem to mind the mess either. -> Once Taevin stored his used socks underneath a shelf before washing them. Yuvin ran out of socks, found the stash and wore the used socks without knowing. -> Kookheon says Yuvin never cleans up. Once Yuvin left his dishes besides Kookheons bed. Yuvin explained he wanted to see his reaction, but didn’t clean it afterwards so Kookheon had to do it.

Yuvin ranked himself as the least loud member in the Myteen dorms and the members strongly disagreed.

Amongst Kookheon, Byungchan, Yuvin and Minkyu, Yuvin was picked as the most competitive.

Yuvin’s bucket list of things he wants to do is: -> Become an animal trainer. -> Travel around the world. -> Buy everything he wants.

He’s friends with former Wanna One member Kim Jaehwan.

Has amazing vocals, and rarely ever make mistakes while singing. -> Very stable, beautiful, soft vocals.

Works hard to further evolve his singing.

He really struggled with dancing early on, as he lacks natural rythm.  -> Has been working really hard on that and achieved amazing results! -> Yuvin is very thankful to Kookheon for helping him with dancing without feeling burdened.

His family enjoys singing, which made Yuvin interested as well. -> Started singing ballads when he started middle school.

Has two dogs called Choppa and Myongi, even though he’s allergic.

Career:

Superstar K6: -> At 2014/08/22 Yuvin attended the sixth season of the talent show series Superstar K6. -> Sang “Farewell Taxi” by Kim Yeon-Woo. He got lots of praise from the judges and from there his popularity raised. -> He made it to top 4 and got eliminated at episode 12.

Solo artist: -> He signed with Music Works in February 2015. -> Debuted as a solo artist 30th of May 2016 with the song «You To The Bone». -> Has sung many OST’s for different dramas. “Shouting These Words”, “Ordinary Farewell”, “Perhaps This Is”, “Starlight Night”, “Coincidence” and “The First Words”.

Myteen: -> He debuted as the main vocalist in Myteen 27th of July 2017. -> Myteen had two album releases in the span of two years, and disbanded 21st of August 2019.

Acting: -> Played the male lead role as “Kim Yoo-Geon” in the drama “Loss:Time:Life” from 2019.

Produce X 101: -> Yuvin, together with his fellow Myteen member Kookheon, was sent off to join Produce X 101. First episode aired 3rd of May 2019. -> Gained a lot of recognition for the heartbreaking performance where Yuvin’s microphone failed, and Kookheon (who was on the opposite team) panicked and started crying. -> Also known for his Tom and Jerry relationship with trainee Suhwan. -> Made it to the final episode where he ranked 15th.

B Of You (B.O.Y): -> Considering the popularity gained from Produce X 101, The Music Works decided to debut Yuvin and Kookheon in a duo group. They came out with a ballad called “Blurry” on August 24th, before their official debut. -> The duo’s official name is “B.O.Y” meaning both of you or best of you. The fandom name is “Meet You”. -> The official debut was set on January 7th 2020. This was the day the duo came out with their first mini album “Phase One : YOU” as well as the official music video for the first title tracl “My Angel”.

HE REMINDS ME OF A TIMID PARK WOOJIN.... he’s so young??? and awkward??? but so many talents in him I’M AMAZED i love him!!! (just not his management i’m so sorry)

3. Son Dongpyo!!! HE IS LITERALLY LIKE... THE DAEHWI OF THIS SEASON LMAO I LOVE HOW STRAIGHTFORWARD HE IS BUT DAMN HE’S LIKE A WILD CARD.... okay he may be the center of X1-MA but he?? deserves? it? i won’t lie he’s shortly becoming my #1 pick he’s just so talented and very headstrong!! he seems super childish but i believe he’s quite mature for his age!

BECAUSE BEFORE BAEJIN’S VOCALS WEREN’T RECOGNIZED AT FIRST AND MANY FOCUSED ON HIS VISUALS BUT KNOWING HIS HUSKY AND VERY WELL DEVELOPED VOICE DURING MID-BRODUCE AND WANNA ONE AND NOW? HIS VOICE IS MY FAVE. ALSO ONEW IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE VOCALISTS EVER TOO (him and jjong have been the reason i got into shinee immediately aka my first ever kpop group). THEREFORE. CHANGWOOK IS IN MY TOP LIST OFC

5. Yohan.... yeah you may kick me if you’re very iffy about the final lineup being mostly about visuals but he’s? actually quite a talent? HE SAID HE’S A VOCAL BUT HE ACTUALLY GOT THE RAP PARTS FOR BOSS IN ONE GO... he’s improving a lot as the show progresses and it’s actually very refreshing to see this in a trainee (all of them are improving a ton, but Yohan’s one of those trainees that I notice a lot of progress from)

6. Ham Wonjin!! DUDE IF HE AIN’T ONE OF THE CUTEST AND MOST CONSIDERATE LEADERS.... He led the Starship trainees and even cried for those who got an X..... the fact that he focuses on others a lot in comparison to him, who is very up there in ranks, makes him very much a good leader. He’s softhearted!! I adore

7. MOON HYUNBIN!! HE REMINDS OF OF A LITTLE KIHYUN LIKE BOTH VISUALS AND THAT TONE OF VOICE??? STOP! SLEEPING!  ON! MY! BOY! Mnet y’all better give him some shots on the latter eps

8. Kim Shihoon!!! DUDE EVEN BEFORE BRODUCE I LIKED HIM A LOT ONCE I KNEW THE OTHER BNM TRAINEES I really hoped for him to get into AB6IX tbh but he’s def one of those trainees to keep an eye on!!

9. Choi Suhwan!!! VOCALS AND DANCE AND HE MAY BE GOOD AT RAPPING TOO? STOP SLEEPING ON HIM COME ON

10. this is so hard but I’m gonna cheat and put Lee Hangyul, Kim Wooseok and Song Yuvin together in this because they’re all VERY strong competitors. Yuvin has been my fave vocalist since Superstar K6 tbh my irl friend and i are huge fans!! and Myteen has good songs?? y’all slept on them :/ Hangyul is also very strong I forgot he was in The Unit, I would say... he could have one of those very good leadership skills! Kim Wooseok is also quite strong for me, he may look intimidating but honestly I think it’s because he’s a little bit more experienced than the majority of the trainees (also Jinhyuk!!! I’d add him here too).

So yeah that’s my top 10??? I HAVE LOTS OF FAVES I’M THAT BITCH WHO PUTS A NEW PERSON ON MY LIST EVERY SINGLE MINUTE WHILE WATCHING BRODUCE LOL

Song Yu-bin, 'Idol Hit Song Festival' scramble

Song Yu-bin has finished preparing for the 'Idol Hit Song Festival' sortie.

According to Flex M on the 17th, Song Yu-bin will appear on Kakao Entertainment's planned production program 'Idol Hit Song Festival', which will be released for the first time in July, to take on her new challenge.

'Idol Hit Song Festival' is a special program in which MZ generation idols compete by remakes of hit songs from the 2000s. Five teams of idols with different personalities and charms will participate, including Song Yu-bin, Ryu Su-jeong from Lovelyz, WOODZ (Jo Seung-yeon), Wei's Kim Dong-han & Yoo Yong-ha, and Jeong Se-woon.

Este es el caso del dúo BOL4 (Bolbbalgan4) debutado en 2016 con las integrantes Ahn Ji-young y Woo Ji-yoo, quienes, tras participar en el programa Superstar K6 poco a poco se hicieron notar con sus adorables y profundas canciones, hasta convertirse en uno de los dúos más populares de Corea.

Y hasta aquí todo parecía andar bien. Pues teníamos un dúo, dos integrantes, canciones bonitas, éxito conseguido, ventas altas y así las chicas iban caminando poco a poco en la industria. Hasta que a principios de abril, una de sus integrantes, Jiyoon anunció su repentina salida del grupo, sorprendiendo a todos, menos a ella. Y es que una de las razones que mencionó es que tenía "preocupaciones sobre su carrera", pero, después de estos muchos fans notaron que una de las verdaderas preocupaciones es el poco interés que tenía su agencia en ella ella; y pues, con mucha razón. ¿Quién querría quedarse en un lugar donde no es valorada, respetada y muchas veces ignorada? Por supuesto que ella no. Salieron a la luz varias fotos que demostraban el maltrato que ella sufría, empezando por que ella misma en ocasiones era ignorada y opacada (tal vez de manera no intencional) por su compañera.

En esta foto observamos como Ahn Jiyoung es ayudada por un miembro del staf en su movilidad ante lo que parece ser una lluvia, cubriéndola con un paraguas. Mientras que Jiyoon camina detrás de ella, cubriéndose a sí misma con su sweater.

La grabación de un fansing mostró también cómo un fan decide ignorarla y evadir su firma, de manera desinteresada, provocándole una sonrisa triste e incómoda. Y aunque estemos acostumbrados a grupos que por sus agencias casi siempre promuevan de manera extraordinaria a una sola integrante, sólo en casos como éste podemos notar qué tan dura puede llegar a ser la vida de un idol. ¿No es así? [August 2019] THE STAR Interview [part 1]

It’s your first time meeting THE STAR. How was the shoot today? 🐶Yuvin: I was able to have a fun shooting in a very comfortable atmosphere. It was a good shooting because it was able to keep my spirit alive with compliments. 🐰Kookheon: At first it was very awkward so it was a bit hard, but it got better as time passed.

How are you doing after Produce x 101 ended? 🐰Kookheon: While preparing for our fan meeting we were also doing various shows and recording album. 🐶Yuvin: I take a rest when I’m resting and practice when I’m practicing. I am wokring hard day by day.

Do you realise that you have increasing popularity now? 🐰Kookheon: I’m having a wonderful day because a lot more people know me now than before. 🐶Yuvin: In the past, when I joined the audition program Superstar K6, people recognized me when I passed by. After a few years, I thought I was forgotten. After going through this episode, it feels very strange to be recognized again and I thought I should work harder.

You have learned a lot while doing Produce X 101. What’s the most memorable? 🐰Kookheon: I realized that if I do my best in any given situation, I will not have any regret. 🐶Yuvin: If I go into detail, teacher Seokhoon and teacher Yumi gave us a lot of feedback during vocal lesson. It’s hard to change singing style, but I think I should embrace the part that needs work and positively work hard. So I want to say thank you to the teachers.

What’s the biggest change on your appearance compared to before you appeared on Produce X 101? 🐶Yuvin: ‘Didn’t you get more passionate?’ I thought like that. 🐰Kookheon: Before I joined Produce X 101 I worked out so hard that my body got bigger, but I couldn’t work out much during Produce X 101, so I’ve lost a lot of weight.

How did you feel about working as a unit? 🐰Kookheon: First of all, it was very easy to coordinate opinions and there were very little conflicts during practice, so it took less time and less energy to find each others total, it was comfortable.  🐶Yuvin: It was amazing because the schedule keeps going on, but I’m a little worried since only the two of us are performing on stage and I think that’s what we should try and fill, so we’re working hard on that.

What’s the concept of the new song? 🐶Yuvin: It’s like an in advance gift that we gave to fans. It’s a ballad. We’ll release this song and prepare for our official album, it’s going to be like an event.

What did you focus on the most while preparing for the new song? 🐶Yuvin: Since it’s a ballad song, I was more concerned about the live performance. I’ve become very emotional since the lyrics are for the fans and I’ve been doing image training a lot when I recorded the song. I sang it while imagining myself singing on stage in front of the fans. 

Do you have any jinx that only you have? 🐶Yuvin: I have a jinx that is when I practice, I sing well, but when I go in the recording studio, I suddenly can’t sing. Also if I don’t have enough sleep, I can’t sing. 🐰Kookheon: I think that I’m going to ruin it if I go on stage with the thought of doing well. So I sing with the thought that I enjoy this moment without thinking about it.

According to your opinion, what is your secret weapon?  🐶Yuvin: Rather than a secret weapon, I have a very good memory instead. When I look at fans two or three times, I can almost remember them. Isn’t it an advantage to remember someones name just from the first look? 🐰Kookheon: I’m gonna prepare for my secret weapon. I don’t think I have it yet. (laughs)

Is there a reason on why you dream to become a singer? 🐶Yuvin: When people supported me said “I was sick, but I got better because I listened to Yuvin’s voce”, “I’m healing” and I thought I should be a very good singer and give good songs to a lot of people. 🐰Kookheon: I want to become a singer that people are very proud of and become a positive influence to others.

Are there any messages you want to convey through your music? 🐶Yuvin: Right now, the lyrics of our upcoming song contains what we really want to say. We want to tell how much we think of our fans.

Which role model do you want to be like? 🐶Yuvin: I want to be like Kyuhyun senior and Lee Seunggi. 🐰Kookheon: My mom who doesn’t seem to know how to give up.

Except for performing, singing and dancing, what are your other interests? 🐰Kookheon: My father and my mother both are good at cooking, so I became a bit interested in cooking. But I quickly gave up doing the dishes because I was lazy. (laughs) 🐶Yuvin: Besides singing and dancing, perhaps entertainment? Doing entertainment would be really fun. It would be fun to talk.

Are there any goals you want to achieve this year? 🐰Kookheon: I want to prepare for an album and stand in front of my fans again. 🐶Yuvin: I want to work hard and be more active.

10 years from now, what are you going to be like? 🐰Kookheon: I think I’m going to be worried about getting married. 🐶Yuvin: In 10 years, I would like to have done everything I could, and I would have worked hard, so I would be able to go traveling in a stable position and life.

What kind of music genre do you want to do in the future? 🐰Kookheon: I want to do music that give people the feeling “ah, it’s so good” when they listen to the song. 🐶Yuvin: I want to try various genres, but I want to be an artist with my own color. When they hear the song, I want people to think “the music is good, this friend is talented.”

voisper is a 4 member ballad group under evermore music. they debuted feb 23, 2016 with their song “in your voice”. voisper is a combination of “voice” + “whisper”, though predebut they called themselves b.i.c19 and participated in superstar k6 in 2014. they were also friends in high school + formed their group before joining their label!

Bolbbalgan4 (볼빨간 사춘기) is a South Korean duo under Shofar Music. They are also known as ‘Blushing Youth’. The duo consists of Jiyoung and Jiyoon. They both participated on Superstar K6 in 2014. Bolbbalgan4 officially debuted on April 22, 2016. Spring, the first season of the girls singing about puberty that is lovely but dangerous and more glorious because it’s unstable.
