Was thinking about FE Awakening today and was once again reminded how cheated Chrom and Sumia are in terms of number of supports compared to the other characters.

I got Gay Awakening working!!! Finally 😭 I'm already married to Vaike on my current run but no one else is married. Robin is going to be the only woman in the game married to a man probably.

Also I'm on Chapter 11 so Frederick you better hurry if you want to marry Chrom!!!

it just hit me that ... frobin adds (san) to chrom's name. even now i remember in the Drama CD i think she did that, too. mrobin does not. i can understand why, the whole different gender and in a position like frobin in, she can't just seem TOO friendly to the leader she serve when they dont share a close relationship like beyond friendship. it makes sense but the KRUMB IN MY BRAIN SHAKING HIS CAGE AND RATTLING IT SAYING HE DOES NT CARE HE WANTS HIS FRIENDS TO NOT TREAT HIM TOO DIFFERENTLY EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE probably eng wins this one with keeping his name without a title. ch.rom in the back shaking and crying because he does not want his friends to act differently. wobby dont treat him like that;;;

I SEEE. so they used tome for her and not a sword (levin sword :EYES:) makes sense. i like they given her a different weapon than mrobin ngl. even if she used the sword she still gets me on my knee asking for her hand in marriage. high friendship is when you two can stay in the same job and back each other--aka the dorking and his smart bestie strategist. high five!

Sumia deserves a cute girlfriend not for any reasons having to do with centering it around Chrom (especially because even if you dismiss him from the pool, she still does have three other vanilla options) but because she has a lot of really fun options when you actually think about it for her and not for the sake of sweeping her aside for Chrobin. Let Sumia kiss girls for her own reasons! Not for "Chrom likes Robin too much to be a good spouse" reasons!

On that note, Sumia/Olivia ftw. They deserved supports so bad, the concept of clumsy girl & poised dancer who are both very sweet & would get along fabulously but yet are both kind of awkward at navigating a conversation practically writes itself.

Reviewing the Chrom Supports because I need something to do while waiting for the Brave banner to drop.

no.1: Robin. My favorite. Both a reference to my favorite fe lord cannon romance (Sigurd and Deirdre) and even my second favorite one (Ike and Soren). The people who don't pair Chrom up with Robin astound me, the game gives you a man, tells you can break his heart ruin him, and you simply chose not to? Couldn't be me. I like what it does for Awakening's story, and I like how it makes Lucina suffer. Girl goes back in time to save her parents and the world and she finds out it's impossible to do both. Chef's kiss. Immaculate, their bond being central to the story and themes of Awakening makes it my favorite.

no.2: Maribelle. A sleeper hit for my second favorite Chrom pairing. If I ever to a play through of awakening where I play as male Robin, I'd pair Chrom up with Maribelle. I'm a sucker for childhood friends, and Maribelle having political ambitions (wanting to reform the judicial system) makes her a really interesting queen of Ylisse. Also Brady has the funniest version of the Chrom recruitment dialogue, "Is that how you speak to Ylissean royalty?" "I am Ylissean royalty!" Lives in my head rent free.

no.3: Olivia. Honestly Olivia and Chrom don't have to many actual interactions outside of their (not great) C-A support. But, while I don't have many feelings about Chrom and Olivia as a couple I do have strong feelings about Lucina and Inigo as siblings. I love them as siblings. They're so, so, funny. And Chrom!Inigo in fates, sitting on the floor of Xander's study having a crisis trying to figure out how he can see through his eye is something I have thought about. The only down side of them as siblings is that it means Owain is his cousin meaning Soleil and Ophelia are related and I think they should be girlfriends instead of second cousins.

no.4: Sully. They're both knights. Strong fighters. That's about all I feel about that. I honestly forget that they support. The recruitment Dialogue for Kjelle isn't even very different. She doesn't even say he's her father.

no.5: Sumia. The only one I actively dislike, my least favorite for a few reasons. First it's her only ending where she doesn't "Trade her lance for a stretch of pasture to raise a happy group of pegasi." Pairing her up with Chrom takes her out of her natural habitat, and I will call the cops for pegasus knight abuse. She deserves to settle down on a farm and live a peaceful quiet life. It's what she deserves. Second, I refuse to believe that Cynthia would mistake generic bandit 97 for her father. She recognised her mother's ring while both of them were mounted on their pegasi but she mistakes some guy, who doesn't have blue hair, falchion or a brand for her father! Although my distaste mostly come from the "She would be actively miserable as queen and should settle down to raise pegasi."

also sometimes in that search i get someone calling Cynthia a lesbian which is like. i do think her relationships with the girls are really interesting but i don't think she's uninterested in boys?? tale as old as fandom etc but show a little decorum and avoid calling female characters lesbian when what is meant is "i don't want her going near my precious boys". like you have to care about her relationships with women. you can't have lesbians by negation any more just so they can't interfere with a yaoi
