Okay so I have a distinct childhood memory of a movie I used to watch that was on netflix, but I can't find it for the life of me! It was about this girl who was made to perform at a circus by her parents but didn't want to and then travelled to this other world to defeat an evil queen who was also her mother, and she met this greedy guy who started travelling with her, but then when she gets there she's brainwashed by the queen to think that she's her daughter and is only broken out of it by the greedy guy. THEN I think she finds out that the other world is actually a mirror dimension and the version of her from that world WAS the daughter of the evil queen who figured out a way to switch bodies with her because she also didn't like her role and she has to figure out how to get her body back and stuff. If any of you know what it's called PLEASE tell me the visuals were really cool and surreal and I WANNA WATCH IT AGAIN PLEASE

LA COQUILLE ET LE GENTLEMAN - (Germaine Dulac, 1928).

The first surrealist movie was an adaption from a screenplay by Antonin Artaud who, at the première of the film, aqccused Dulac for ruining his scenario calling her "a cow". Despite this anecdote the movie has a steady place in the history of cinema.
