You wanna know about Teylan, I’ll tell you about Teylan.

First off yes, he is absolutely a sweetheart, and is very interested in human tech. But some of that is due to fear.

(Not sure how much you know about the game so I’m gonna ramble a bit)

Several Na’vi children were kidnapped while the RDA killed the rest of the clan. The kids were kidnapped with the intention of being “ambassadors”, aka soldiers for this branch of the RDA (TAP).

All the kids wanted out, (their about 10-13 years old) and the guards shot one of the kids killing them.

Teylan was the youngest child there, approximately 1-2 years old when he was taken, and became eager to please, wanting Mercer (the main antagonists) attention. And seeing his age, Teylan would have no memories outside of TAP.

Mercer put on a fake act for Teylan, praising him when he does something he likes, but also had guards beat him when he wet the bed.

Now in the current time of the game, Teylan is still eager to please Mercer and is easily manipulated. To the point that Teylan believes Mercer, and contacts him giving Mercer the resistance’s location.

While interested in Eywa he is terrified of her and anything to do with Pandora wildlife.

But understand this is due to Stockholm Syndrome. Teylan hates violence in any way shape or form.

At the end of the day Teylan is fearful, but is extremely sweet and loving, but is also naïve.

“She’s up in her room, honey,” Synthia’s mother said as soon she’d opened the door and noticed it was Gia, a sympathetic look on her face as she knew her daughter’s tendency to push those she loved most away when she’d have depressive episodes.

Gia nodded politely and thanked her before bounding up the stairs, anxiety making their hands shake.

Knocking softly, they opened the door before they got an answer.

Synthia laid in bed with her back to the door; her weighted blanket pulled up to her neck, the lights out and the curtains drawn tight while she blocked out the rest of the world with her headphones. The music was loud enough that Gia could hear it, even over her gentle whimpers. Gia’s stomach turned, they hated that while Synthia was ignoring their texts and calls, this was what she was doing.

Tentatively, they sat on the edge of the bed, making her turn over to face them, a surprised look on her sullen face.

“Gi,” she breathed, reaching for them without thinking before she realized what she was doing and withdrew her touch, though Gia wished she hadn’t.

There was nothing more in the world Gia hated than Synthia’s depression and anxiety. Since they were kids, they watched her struggle, anxiously biting at her nails or locking herself in her room for days at a time. They knew summers were the hardest for her and it wasn’t unlike her to get like this when everyone else was by the pool and soaking up the sunshine, but that didn’t make it any easier for them to see.

Most of the time, they’d give her space, text her daily to remind her they loved her and were there for her, but this time too long had gone by with no contact and everytime they thought of her, a pang of anxiety twisted their insides.

They reached for her hand, relieved she took it, even though her hands shook.

“I missed you,” Gia said simply.

Synthia swallowed. “You shouldn’t. Maybe you should go.”

“But- why? I just want to make sure you’re okay.”

She yanked her hand away from their, tucking it back underneath the blanket.

“I don’t need you to watch out for me. I’m fine,” she spat back, displaced anger coming in firey little spurts that were so unlike the sweet girl Gia was so in love with.

“I just want to help.”

“I don’t want it. Get out,” she nearly yelled back.

Tears blurred their vision, their heart pounding in their chest. Synthia had never yelled at them like that before, it was usually them with the temper but she was always the calm to their storm.

They took a shaky breath. “And you’re absolutely sure this is what you need?”

She paused for a moment, a crack in her facade. “No,” she whispered, embarrassment and guilt curling inside her like tentacles.

Synthia reached for them, letting herself be moved into their lap like she weighed nothing. She hid her face in their neck, soft sniffles turning into gut wrenching sobs.

“I hate feeling like this,” she whimpered in between cries while Gia rocked her back and forth in their arms like a child.

“I know you do, I hate seeing you like this. I would take it all away from you if I could.”

Gia meant every word. If they could take every ounce of pain out of Synthia’s fragile body, they would, even if that meant holding the weight of her pain on their shoulders. They figured it would still be easier than watching someone who deserved the whole world in their eyes fall apart.

They were by no means a professional, but they did what they could to calm her, rubbing her back and telling her everything would be okay until her sobs died down and she was softly hiccuping against them, their t-shirt gripped in her hands.

“Come here, sunshine, look at me,” they cooed, coaxing her gaze to theirs.

Her blue eyes held so much in them, pain but there was love in them too as she looked back at Gia.

“I’m sorry.”

Gia shook their head and pressed a gentle kiss to her lips. “Don’t be. I’m here for you. Do you want to come stay with me for a bit?”

Her lips ticked up in a gentle smile. “Can we make a fort? And watch the Barbie movies like I used to force you to watch when we were kids?”

Gia laughed. “Anything you want, baby, we have the whole place to ourselves.”

The way this chapter made my heart hurt and flutter at the same time. The “Mrs. Zenin” had a nice ring dont ya think😏😏😏. Toji is so sweet to the MC and I think it’s so refreshing to watch their relationship blossom.

Gojo on the other hand😐… can still take a long walk off a short pier. It’s so ironic how he feels bad for Sera bc she feels insecure compared to Y/N. like how do you think your wife feels sir???? you barely interact with her and when you do you’re demeaning ASF. do you ever tire of being a dickhead? and idk why he just expects her to be happy-go-lucky after he comes back with a getaway with his mistress. and Ms. Sera maybe you wouldn’t feel insecure if you weren’t willingly sleeping w a married man😫😫😫
