the photo on the left was taken in february 2020, the photo on the right was taken in september 2023. aside from the glaring differences in sim style, i also used to put in more more effort in taking portrait shots (in-game studio lot, solid, complementary colored backdrop, completely ignoring the horrid glow indoor lighting gave the sim, etc) but now i feel like a lot of the effort goes into making the actual sim, since my portrait shots now are taken in cas with srwe + reshade. 💀

I was tagged by @cavernsofdarkness almost a month ago now and I'm big time breaking the rules a bit but I'm doing multiple photos of my time on simblr because I have been on here for 11 years now

I honestly want to get back to my 2016-2017 era of Sim creativity because it was my favorite 😭💖I slowed down a lot because Tumblr's stupid "sp!cy content" purge and focused on RPing and it's stunted my growth a bit.

It was fun, but the fact I can now make my sims look nice in Sims 3 with no editing whatsoever has inspired me a lot so expect to see me posting more often coming 2024 💕

Okay, so this isn't one of my first screenshots. Most of the old ones have either been deleted, or I no longer have the Sims in my save. But I did make this "Holidays Across the Decades" lookbook almost two years ago, and since then a few more pieces of CC have been created or updated.

1810s: Caroline's gloves and shoes by @peebsplays. (Keep a look out for an update to the dress).

1900s: Nellie's dress by myself.

2020s: Diwali outfit by myself. (This was originally not associated with any character, but I put it on the 2023 Girl of the Year, Kavi).

By including Nellie and Kavi, I was at a number that didn't divide evenly. To make the rows even I added Nicki in something similar to her NYE outfit.

the first picture was taken on 15th january 2008, i'm sure i have older screenshots of even more beloved sims somewhere, but my old folders are a hot mess and i'm scared to go there, so i grabbed the oldest picture that i could easily find. i don't remember the guy's first name, but his last name is Devlin, and he was one of the prettiest kids in my sims 2 legacy gameplay

and the second guy i made a couple days ago. as you can see, pale boys with long-ish black hair are still my type.

I've changed computers/hard drives too many times to still have any of my first screenshots, so the earliest I can go is the start of my blog. (Honestly though even in that short time period my style has changed a lot.)

One of my very first lookbook models from October '21 vs. the version of him in my game now. He went from teenage Disney catalogue model to battle-scarred adult vampire hunter. 🧛

omg the screenshot on the left is from 2013. i don't have any earlier screenshots although i started posting my sims even before 2013. this was a celebrity sim i had made of male model rj king who was all over tumblr back then. i remember being so proud of that sim, at the time lol 🥺

i've always been a cas simmer, never a builder or gameplayer.

on the right is a headshot of my recent mortimer goth sim. i have a better graphics card now, gshade, and i've learned how to use my sliders a lot better 😆 with practice i've developed a better sim aesthetic and a better photoshoot/lighting setup.

we've come a long way, folks. while this isn't my first screenie of kaila, it is the first portrait of her as an adult back in january '22. she has since graduated from college, traveled the globe, gotten married and had two babies. currently, she's pregnant with baby number three and about to pop! also debuting her new style after wearing her hair long pretty much her entire life.

the portrait of chris is from february '22, the summer after college where he ran into kaila in sulani and they rekindled their romance. since then he has established a profitable marijuana business as well as a free-range farm. a proud papa of two girls, he's hoping lucky number three is a boy.

aside from the obvious evolution of my sim style, i've changed in-game and cas lighting as well as my gshade preset. cas is clearly the way to go for good portraits, too.

Дед слева это Дилан Флинн. С него начиналось мое основное сохранение, которое потом заняли Грины. Это был первый скрин, кажется, на память о нем ибо его жизнь подходила к концу. А начинала я играть молодым Диланом - отцом-одиночкой с двумя маленькими сыновьями в очень маленьком доме в Виллоу Крике. Потом прошло несколько поколений и сохранения разделились на Джейкоба (мир магии - н��вое сохранение) и Гринов (остались в этом). У бабушки Джейкоба был брат:

Лайнел Грин, здравствуйте. Вот он - дед Шеннона в молодости. С хз какой по счету женой ихих) С него-то блондины и пошли. Адам мне сильно напоминает его внешне. Он был оч жестким типом. Случайно скрин нашла, где Эммет молодой и его брат Брэд подросток. Я почти не скринила в те времена.

А если говорить про первый скрин в самом блоге, то начинала я с этой девочки Адель [11.12.2020].

Я так и не закончила ее историю, потому что она в сохре с Джеем. На самом деле Грины были полностью закадровыми, а блог был посвящен магии и всему такому темному мистическому:

Потом было пару слов о Нейте и то как его сдал собственный кот и подставил Шеня на вечеринке у Нейта дома [21.11.21]:

Семью начали обсуждать и попросили оставить на постоянку. Потом магия и геймплей блондинов шли вперемешку. И только в июне 22 года у них родились первые диалоги на картинках:

В ноябре 22 года вышел пост-подготовка к полноценному сюжету. Семья переезжала из общаги в квартиру отца. Тогда Шеннон был женат на Тесс, у них была новорожденная дочь Бриджит, он ни разу не приезжал к Шерил, Стив жил с отцом (с Нейтом), а Жан заканчивал школу (а еще он чуть не женился на бывшей).

И то повествование о династии, которое имею сейчас начинается с именно с 14 ноября 22 года со страшного и случайного события, которое перевернуло жизнь не только старшего сына третьего поколения Грин, но и всей семьи целиком.

Это было непросто, но я нашла два старых скрина из разных городов. Первый сделан 02.05.2013 в Новосельске, когда после переезда на новый компьютер я потеряла все предыдущие сохранения и решила устроить в городе зомбиапокалипсис. На скрине воскрешенная мужем-ученым после пожара первая зомби в городе. Второй скрин сделан 04.11.2012, когда во вновь созданном городе начала историю двух братьев-близнецов с разными судьбами и стремлениями. Один основал династию, второй стал бессмертным одиноким вампиром.

Последний скрин сделан в университете Симбири.
