i hate complicated feelings surrounding chapter six ( aka the introduction to the iconique ravesey hate that i deleted from stress ) because i actually did love it...i just rushed the hell out of it, didn't plan it out very well and it was a mess. it could have been a lot better.

part of why i deleted it was actually because of that ravenstan/kenny phonecall because i felt worried that i revealed too much about how not cool and actually boy-failure-y stan was too early and could have kept the suspense going longer but aaaaaa i just wanted y'all to see how CUTE he was, like??? and how nervous! AAAA!!!

buuut considering the cat has been out of the bag, or rather, the raven has flown the nest for some time now...and it's the beauteous day you were born...i will humbly present you with this b-day present in the form of my incompetent idiot girl ramblings/writings, though, i fear it is not at all as grand the gift of your life is.

A David Shaw headcanon/mini-fic coming your way:

Once, just after David and Angel had started dating, Angel cancelled a movie-date at the last minute due to having to work late. David heard the utter exhaustion in Angel's voice, but he certainly couldn't just show up at their place and demand they let him into their home so that he could take care of them, even if that's all he wanted to do. They had clearly asked for space. At the same time, David knew in his heart that they were asking for space only because they didn't know they could ask him for comfort.

So, David had to get creative.

After a long day full of way too many work issues, while Angel was trudging home in the dark and pouring rain, a large (very large... too large?) dog with onyx-colored fur started following them. As large as the dog was, it was very friendly. He nudged against Angel's leg and kept right by their heels, giving them a bit of support they didn't realize they needed. It didn't take Angel long to decide that clearly this dog was someone's pet and needed a place to stay for the night. No shelter was open for them to check one way or the other at that time of night, so Angel let the dog into their home. They offered him some food, which the dog strangely refused, though he did take big gulps of water out of the water dish they set down for him, which made Angel grab some water and food for themselves, too. Angel barely had kicked off their shoes and collapsed onto the couch before the large dog they had taken to calling "Balto" jumped onto the couch and settled right on top of them, snuggling and nuzzling without a care in the world. Angel talked to their new friend for hours, unloading their frustrations and freely hugging Balto, petting him, and rubbing his fuzzy ears so that his tail thumped against their leg and little happy whines escaped his wide mouth. They didn't realize how much they needed the little impromptu cuddle-and-therapy session until they awoke the next morning, fully rested and recharged. When Balto scratched his paws at the door, Angel let him out with every intention to call the local shelter, but before they knew what happened, Balto disappeared.

Grateful for the help, Angel hoped that Balto found his way back home.

He certainly did.

agsjfkshgs this is sososososo sweet. early david n angel learning how to be there for each other and to ask the other one for help/comfort is one of my Fav periods to think about. and david going out of his way to help angel knowing they won’t know it was him heavy sigh… thinking about the first time he shifts for them after they know about magic and angels like ?!?!???! balto?!?!?!?!

Went to a ballet and it turns out a bunch of my friends were there too so after freaking out we finished the show and went to Applebee's right. And one of my friends told the waitress "I just want to say I really appreciate you" bc she's sweet like that.

And this got her talking saying that she just moved here and she's actually from X and she works the weekends, and that she's actually working here w her fiance who's a bartender, and we were all like "aawwwww" and then she points out her fiance and when we saw she was a woman our table of seven started screaming

i have such a Vivid image in my mind of deego and i relaxing on the couch, he is kinda leaning back against me and quietly reading and his hair is up in a lil ponytail but his bangs are still falling out because his layers are so so so choppy and he keeps putting the strands behind his ears despite them continually falling back in his face 🥺 and i can tell he's getting mildly frustrated but he's so engaged in what he's reading that he doesn't want to get up to grab bobby pins so i drag my hands through his bangs and pull them back myself, then i use the bobby pins i have in my own hair (we have such similar haircuts that i have the same struggle) and pin his hair back for him 🥺 and again, he's very focused on his reading but he grabs one of my hands and kisses my knuckles in a silent 'thank you' and it's just VERY SWEET god he makes me soooooooooo soft so emotional
