My favourite headcannon about Logan Kellerman is that he's a fucking shapeshifter. He has blonde hair and freckles and blue eyes on tuesday, wednesday he walks into school a dark eyed brunette without a freckle in sight, but there is a mole on his cheek that DEFINITELY wasn't there yesterday. His appearance is constantly in motion, ever changing. Back at home he's got a walk in closet the size of a small country with enough hair dye to kill a horse, so much make up, different coloured eye contacts, wigs, and every accesory known to man. That's not to mention the clothes, which he has every fashion style of.
Nobody but his own mother knows what he REALLY looks like, and even she forgets sometimes.

Am I the only one who read and obsessed over the Swindle books when I was in middle school? The #swindle tag is filled with some Transformers character and the #gordon korman tag doesn't have anything related to it. I especially loved the characters.

(Context: @moonleet’s AN on this fic of his)
[W]hat was ur childhood favorite when it comes to "classic" literature?
I don’t actually remember many of the “classic” books I read as a kid (literally just Wind in the Willows and Black Beauty), so deviating slightly from the original prompt, I’m making a list of books for headspace. It’s based on either what I remember liking (or am told I liked) at various ages or what I’ve found I like in headspace currently.
~2-4yo: Headspace discoveries or parental hearsay (often too young to remember)
Basically any of the Winnie the Pooh stories (A.A. Milne). I’m told I wasn’t hugely into them as a kid but that changes in headspace.
The Velveteen Rabbit (Margery Williams). Don’t think I was read this as a kid but with how much I go on about Norrell, is me having latched onto this in headspace a surprise? (no).
The Gruffalo (Julia Donaldson). Haven’t verified this one, but I’m told I absolutely adored it as a kid.
The Frog & Toad series (Arnold Lobel). Haven’t verified, but I do actually remember this one so that’s a good sign.
~5-7yo: I can actually remember my likes now (no headspace discoveries currently).
The Junie B. Jones series (Barbara Park). Haven’t verified this, but I remember loving these.
The Series of Unfortunate Events series (Lemony Snicket). Same thing as Junie B. Jones
Swindle (Gordon Korman). Haven’t verified this but I enjoyed reading it a second time back in like 7th grade after loving it the first time in 2nd grade so it’s at least more likely than the first two. (Also I found out this is a series looking up the author’s name so uh. The headspace reading list begins, I guess)
Any regressed headspace:
The Magic Treehouse series (Mary Pope Osborne). This was the first series I definitely remember reading as a kid, and my folks say they used them as bedtime stories before that.
Wind in the Willows (Kenneth Grahame) probably. I read it when I was in like 8th grade but I remember thinking the length was the main reason it was marked as an upper-grade book (the thing’s like 300 pages iirc).
Any of Shel Silverstein’s children’s-lit poetry. I think I found it when I was like 6 but it could’ve been introduced earlier; in any case it feels like I’d enjoy it even in younger headspaces.

Alredered Remembers Gordan Korman, author of more than 90 children's and young adult books, including series such Macdonald Hall and Swindle Mystery, on his birthday.
When we lock things away," he said with conviction, "we're really imprisoning ourselves."

I have thought multiple times today that it is hard to read a book when you are constantly laughing at it. I have thought i must look crazy laughing at a book on a high school bus when nobody reads books anymore. I would like to quote a dozen books or more, but it only makes sense in context.
Book recommendations:
currently rereading: You've Got Male by Elisabeth Beverly, spy romance
Perry Mason, world War 2 era mysteries By Erle Stanley Gardner, old, not sold in bookstores
Great Author, Gordon Korman, recommend Macdonald Hall Series and Swindle Series
Just thinking I have so many books to recommend it would be easier to take a photo of my bookshelf.

When I was a child I didn’t understand that book covers weren’t like movie posters, so I didn’t know that buying a book with a picture of a dog titled Swindle wouldn’t actually be a story about a dog named Swindle.
I guess you could say I was swindled into buying a book about kids stealing back their stolen Babe Ruth card.

Let Your Book Take You Away!
Middle grade reads for summer, suggested by Alissa and Cathy
Tumblr media
Alissa recommends: Stargazing by Jen Wang (Contemporary fiction, graphic novel) Other Words for Home by Jasmine Warga (Contemporary fiction, poetry)
Cathy recommends: Swindle by Gordon Korman (Contemporary fiction, humor) Loot: How to Steal a Fortune by Jude Watson (Contemporary fiction, heist novel)
Summaries, our reviews, and links to check out below!
Stargazing by Jen Wang, color by Lark Pien Lexile: 510 Scholastic Reading Counts:19 points AR: 2.5 level 1 point Overdrive/Libby ebook
Christine and Moon are as different as can be. Perfectionist Christine sees Moon as everything she isn’t, confident, unique, and free. When Moon and her Mom move into Christine’s guest house, the two become friends and Moon opens up her life to Christine, including telling her about the visions she receives of celestial beings. As Christine tries to figure out who she wants to be, Moon struggles with her anger and then has to come to terms with the real consequences of her visions.
This tale of friendship is poignant and feels real. It is easy to identify with both the characters. Wang’s easy style shows their world with clarity. The two friends struggle with their own ideas of themselves and the world, making this a perfect coming of age story.
Something I specifically like about this books is the two different looks at Asian American culture. On the one side Christine feels a lot of pressure from her parents’ expectations and her own expectations. Moon on the other hand is much more free in her upbringing, and lives as a vegetarian Buddhist. The two of them make mistakes but they find ways to make up for them. Their story is one of hope and new beginnings.
Other Words for Home by Jasmine Warge Lexile: 930 Scholastic Reading Counts: 10 points AR: 5.3 level 5 points Overdrive/Libby ebook  -  Overdrive/Libby audiobook
As it becomes increasingly dangerous to stay in Syria, Jude and her mother are sent to live with her uncle in America. In this new temporary home she struggles to fit in and worries about her father as well as her politically involved brother who is missing. But as time goes by Jude learns how to grow into herself and find peace with both the places she has called home.
This novel is one that brings awareness of what it is like for some Syrian refugees. Jude deals with the scary reality of war coming to her home in Syria, and then experiences Islamophobia in America. Her narrative highlights a real picture of her home country, as the place she loved and called home, not just of devastation and war. Though a deep subject, it is delivered in verse that is easy to read and understand.
This is a great conversation starter and not only gives voice to those experiencing this crisis, but gently sheds light on the politically tense and often misunderstood experiences of the Syrian people.

Swindle by Gordon Korman AR book level: 4.9, 5 points Lexile: 710 Overdrive/Libby ebook Griffin Bing finds an old baseball card and is confident it's worth a fortune. The local collectibles dealer, Mr. S. Wendell Palomino, tells Griffin it’s a fake and that he’ll only give him $100 for it, that’s all that it’s worth. Later, Griffin sees Mr. Palomino on TV proclaiming what a rare card it is and that it may go for over a million dollars in an auction! Griffin had been swindled!
Griffin comes up with a plan to get his card back and enlists the help of a group of kids, each with a special “talent”. The kids find themselves up against a tough adversary in Palomino, with his scary guard dog and top-of-the-line security system.
One of the first Gordon Korman books I ever read - I enjoyed it so much I knew I had to read more.  A bit of mystery, a bit of suspense, and a lot of fun!
Loot: How to Steal a Fortune by Jude Watson AR Book Level: 4.2. 8 points Lexile: 560 Overdrive/Libby ebook  -  Hoopla audiobook
Alfred McQuin is a notorious jewel thief. During a heist in Amsterdam, Alfred falls from a roof. As he lies dying, he tells his son, March, to “find jewels”. Although March tries to elude police after his father's death, he is picked up and turned over to child services. On the way to a group home, March meets his twin sister, Julia (nicknamed “Jules”), whom he never knew existed. The group home turns out to be a dump run by a corrupt couple, and neither March nor Jules plan to stay there. With Alfred's words guiding March, the skills Alfred taught him, along with Jules's acrobatic skills, March and Jules team up to follow in their father's footsteps.
With many twists and turns to the page-turning plot, even reluctant readers will enjoy this one!

8 questions, 8 people!
Thanks for the tag @wannahearaboutmylatestobsession! No pressure if you don’t want to do it.
Hogwarts House
I got Gryffindor when I took the quiz on Pottermore in 2016, but that was after I was traumatized and my brain structure changed. I'm pretty sure I grew up a Ravenclaw. I was basically Luna Lovegood. Now I believe I am a Gryffindor with a lot of Ravenclaw. Gryffinclaw?
Last Thing I Googled
Adelaide Kane, the actress. I recognized her face in Reign while scrolling through Netflix, so I googled her to see what else she has been in. I recognized her as Cora Hale from Teen Wolf 😂
Song Stuck In My Head
Leave the City - Twenty Øne Pilots
Dream Job
Bestselling Author and/or video game programmer. I know those are vastly different but I love creating.
Wearing
My favorite shirt, high-waisted skinny jeans, and fuzzy socks
Favorite Author
Rick Riordan (Percy Jackson), Cassandra Clare (Mortal Instruments), Gordon Korman (Swindled), Erin Hunter (Warriors), Brian Jaques (Redwall)
Aesthetic
Idk what this one is asking specifically so I'm going with clothing aesthetic:
I'm in the middle of revamping my wardrobe. I'm working on having more of a soft punk/goth aesthetic. I definitely have a lot of different styles and aesthetics that I have and pull off well: jock girlfriend, nerdy/geeky hipster, cute fem, camp counselor, an occasional yeehaw hoedown, and I do have a modern witch one I can do as well.
Favorite Animal Noise
Cat purrs, Spring Peepers, wolf howls, and almost every single noise my cousin's service dog makes

For the fanfiction ask thing: 1, 6, 15 and 16!
1. What was the first fandom you got involved in?
The Legend of Korra, cerca 2012.
6 is answered here.
15. Is there an obscure ship which you love?
There are several! I love Bolin/Asami from the Legend of Korra, whose ship inspired my username and whose fandom consists of me and a used kleenex. There is also, off the top of my head, Burr/Eliza from Hamilton, Gren/Amaya and Gren/Corvus from The Dragon Prince, Payback/Fanboy and Bradley/Fritz from Top Gun: Maverick (Bradfritz is a ship between Miles Teller’s character and Manny Jacinto’s character, whom we haven’t met yet, but I crack-ship them anyway), and Ben Slovak/Griffin Bing and Pitch Benson/Melissa Dukakis from Gordon Korman’s Swindle series.
16. Are there any popular ships in your fandom which you dislike?
Reylo, hands down. On a less vitriolic note, I’m not a huge fan of Rayla/Callum from The Dragon Prince, nor am I a fan of Glimmer/Bow from She-Ra, Bolin/Opal from The Legend of Korra, or Ethan/Walker or Ethan/Ilsa from Mission: Impossible. (I also prefer Harley Quinn/Deadshot to Harley/Ivy and Harley/anyone from BoP.)

Hideout by Gordon Korman Review
Hideout by Gordon Korman Review
Hideout by Gordon Korman is the 5th and latest publication in the extremely well-known Swindle Series. Gordon Korman is perhaps my favorite author and a rather accomplished one, with over 75 titles to his name. In fact, his book Swindle was not too long ago turned into a movie by Nickelodeon. In Hideout, Korman keeps the Swindle Series rolling with another enjoyable adventure. In the 1st book,…

Question 42 for the cute ask?¿
42: Favorite childhood show, book, or video game? Why not all three? My favorite childhood book was Swindle by Gordon Korman. It’s a book about this kid who gets cheated out of a rare baseball card, and the guy is gonna sell it for a huge profit while ripping the kid off. So the kid, known as the man with a plan, basically plans a B & E to get the card back. My favorite tv show definitely had to be Danny Phantom. I had the biggest crush on Danny, and just loved all the other characters and stuff in that show. And my favorite childhood video game definitely has to Spyro The Dragon. The shit that you played on the Ps2. Gods I love that game so much and am ecstatic for its remake!!
