what do you think would be a recommended level to start KOTFE if the enemies and boss fights will have a higher difficulty?
I've always been tempted to make a post about the balance between leveling up and good story experience sooo here I am!
An introduction to maintaining a good level while doing the strict minimum to enjoy the story more~ (preferred player edition)
First time I played the game, I did like everything, every planetary story arc, every daily, EVERYTHING (almost). I also one shotted the entire storyline like you, like I finished the class story on one character then did all the expansions. In total, I have nearly 400h on that character, which is quite a lot for only solo content. Then I played the Sith Inquisitor storyline, did the same thing cuz I wanted to see what imp side had to offer but I didn't play the expansions as they're roughly the same throughout the classes. After that I only ever played the mission stories to try to complete legendary status the quickest possible, I managed in one year only.
What's the lowest level you can complete the class story with?
On these characters, I was able to complete their class stories at level 42ish (which is def difficult on Correllia but manageable, depending on the classes, some might need 43). But I never intended to play the expansions with them, so playing the minimum of the minimum is 100% playable for the class stories (except on Quesh where you need to be lvl 33 but it's usually not far stretched). Now, I wanted to replay the JK storyline and the expansions with my beloved Maverik'a to take screenshots and I wanted to do the minimum of the minimum this time (since last time I did like everything) so here's how I did it.
How to gain and maintain XP more easily?
First I recommend you buying character perks, if you're starting out a class story buying the entire class story & exploration tier can help you a lot. Now that you're in the expansions, the Flashpoints one might be a good one to have. Basically you gain more XP with these perks and level up more easily. Level wise, I recommend you being always 5-10 levels higher than you should, every planet has an ideal lvl you should at least be 5 lvl higher. How to do it without it becoming a task? Do, a few side quests here and there, with ALWAYS an XP boost on, and once you've hit a reasonable level continue the story and so on.
What are the lvl recommendations to play the expansions?
SO to finally answer your question, in my opinion, you must be around 60 when you hit Correllia. Like I said previously you can do just fine with as low as 42, but for expansions you're gonna end up having to catch up a lot and it's just more annoying. And I highly recommend being lvl 80, with your armor all upgraded, by chapter 16 of KOTFE since there's a big battle. The game recommends lvl 75 but if you're not geared up well it can be very difficult, specifically the last chapter of KOTET. These two chapters have big boss fights, a friend asked me to help her on the last chapter of KOTET cuz the boss would keep killing her and she was around lvl 75. At 80, I never had a problem defeating that boss, I one shotted it lol.
Honestly from the comment you left me, I assume you're subscribed cuz you level up quick so it shouldn't be as much of a grind as it is for preferred (the status I had when I replayed the entire thing lol). But 60 at Correllia and 80 at the last chapter of KOTFE is still what I'd recommend even subscribed.
RECAP
Lowest level and time to complete a class story without expansions = lvl 42 at Correllia, playtime from 24-34ish hours.
(If you're a class story complitionist, it takes around 60h! More than the double of a minimalistic run!)
Lowest level and time to complete a class story WITH expansions = lvl 60 at Correllia, playtime 135h for the entire swtor storyline (instead of almost 400 when you're a complitionist!)
Thanks to have come to my Ted talk, I hope this helps people 😭😭
#I always considered making a guide on how to get the legendary status the quickest but this will do#basically keep the OCs you wanna do the expansions with and do the strict minimum with the others#in only a year I was able to get it whereas others take YEARS cuz they do the planetary arcs and such#but fun fact planetary arcs are the same for every class of the same side#like if you've already played the rep ones as a JK they'll be the same if you're a smuggler so to me they weren't worth playing#anyways I wish you the best experience playing the expression they're really amazing!#it only gets better from here :)#swtor#star wars the old republic#star wars: the old republic#swtor guide#swtor leveling guide

Zakuulan seasons, zodiac cycle, and Chosen of the Gods
My trippy fucking Zakuul zodiac thing.
Credits:
Zakuul crest in the center was made \ extracted \ drawn by @impe-comic
SWTOR fonts were found online, I sadly don’t have the places anymore, but they are called “customtor” for the fancy title font, and “OldRepublic” and “Eurofont” for the text. I also used a Zakuul runes font that I made.
Notes:
I don’t know how long the solar year is on Zakuul, so I just kinda divided it into six parts of unknown duration that correspond to seasons.
Winter is basically Zakuul going into the shadow of another planet or moon or both, blotting or partially blotting out the sun.
Disclaimer: I made this all up. It’s not confirmed nor denied in swtor lore.
Also, tag yourself, I’m Nahut’s Shadow, lol
[Scyva’s Mercy]
Scyva’s Mercy, also known as Scyva’s Tears, marks the beginning of spring and the year cycle as Zakuul leaves the shadow and starts receiving sunlight, leading to warmer weather, thawing of snow if it has been present, and the return of foliage and plants. It is said that people born in this time are protective and caring of others, be it their children, friends, loved ones, or people under their command. Force Sensitives born under this sign may become Chosen of Scyva, manifesting healing powers and in some cases, ethereal wings.
[Aivela’s Bloom]
Aivela’s Bloom follows Scyva’s tears and is marked by warm pleasant weather and the blooming of plants (and allergies). Think your late spring - early summer. A festival dedicated to the goddess is held during this season, titled the Feast of Passion. It celebrates love and beauty, and weddings are often held during the time. According to belief, people born under Aivela’s sign are passionate, often outgoing, and driven, but can also be vain. They can be the guiding light to others, or they can be blinding and confusing. Force Sensitives born under the sign can become Chosen of Aivela, basically granting them a boost in charisma and drive. Twins born during Aivela's Bloom and Esne's Hunger have a chance to have the signs of both goddesses.
[Tyth’s Flames]
The hottest part of the year, and the time when droughts and forest fires can happen. (it’s hot and everyone is sweaty and pissed) Like those born under Aivela’s sign, people of Tyth can be passionate and determined. However, they are prone to anger issues. Force Sensitives born under Tyth’s patronage can become Chosen of Tyth, and are born warriors, usually becoming Knights of Zakuul, although Scion Chosen exist as well. On the darker side they are prone to violence and recklessness.
[Izax’s Harvest]
Izax’s Harvest is the beginning of fall and the time when the crops would be gathered in the old times and in the agricultural parts of Zakuul. Zakuul starts entering the shadow of the other planet \ moon and weather gets colder. Think early-to-mid autumn. There’s a Harvest festival held during Izax’s harvest, that used to be dedicated to thanking Izax for a bountiful harvest. The festival was expanded to a more general theme of gratitude and reflection later on. People born in this season are said to have a commanding presence and a level head, but on the flip side they can be overpowering and stubborn. Force Sensitives born under this sign have a chance to become Chosen of Izax. Born leaders, with potential to fall into tyrannical tendencies. It is said Valkorion is a chosen of Izax. Although some argue he is a chosen of Zildrog.
[Nahut’s Shadow]
Nahut’s Shadow starts when Zakuul enter the shadow of the other planet and\or moon. It is marked by weather getting progressively colder, plants withering or going into hibernation, and overall gloom. Nahut’s Shadow ends at the darkest day of the year, marked with a feast dedicated to honoring the dead. People born under Nahut’s Shadow are often said to be secretive and brooding, and often rebel against their surroundings. They take no shit but can do a lot of harm, to themselves and to those around them. Force Sensitives born under Nahut’s Shadow can become Chosen of Nahut. However, Chosen of Nahut are rare and there is a high mortality rate among them as Nahut’s blessing is more akin to a lycanthropy curse. Those who survive long enough slowly change into sentient beasts, receive visions of the future when interacting with blood, but those visions are often violent and horrifying, corroding the Chosen’s mind. If the CHosen survives with their mind intact, they are granted the strength and senses of the beast, as well as the ability to hide in the shadows. Usually the surviving Chosen are taken in by the Scions of Zakuul, but there hasn’t been a Chosen of Nahut in over a century. It is believed that the founder of the Scion order was a Chosen of Nahut.
[Esne’s Hunger]
The coldest and part of the year. In the past it was often marked with famines and fighting for resources among Zakuul tribes. People born during this time can be cunning, resourceful, and ambitious, but jealousy is their downfall. Force Sensitives born under the sign can become Chosen of Esne. Theirs is the power of speech and manipulation, and they are often at the center of trouble as envy gnaws at them from the inside. Twins born during Aivela's Bloom and Esne's Hunger have a chance to have the signs of both goddesses.
[Chosen of Zildrog]
There’s a constant debate in the Zakuulan community whether or not Chosen of Zildrog exist, and people argue if Valkorion is a Chosen of Izax or Zildrog. If they exist, they are extremely rare, and are not confirmed to exist. Basically Zildrog’s sign is to Zakuulan astrology as 13th Sign (serpent bearer) is to Earth Astrology lol.

Look, you put Star Wars, particularly Old Republic Star Wars, in front of me and this is bound to happen.
Inspired by @fateseekercay 's little Star Wars AU sketch of their Tav and Gale, guest starring the SWTOR Jedi I never got to play much. I have no idea what Shana's character is like, I'm so sorry if I butchered it.
----
Shana sensed the familiar presence behind her before it appeared. “Come to be the fountain of sisterly advice again, Seni?”
The Twi’lek leaned her forearms on the balcony rail. “Do you want me to be?”
“Probably not.”
Seni kept her eyes forward. From this level of the temple, the view of towering spires of Coruscant was really something, especially with the setting sun behind them. Dying light made the plasteel sparkle. “You don’t even know what I’m going to say.”
“Something about how my mission to deal with those Trandoshan should have been better handled. I already heard it from the Council.”
“I don’t care about your mission. It’s not like the Council or I were there. Though if I had been, perhaps it wouldn’t have gotten so messy.”
“Because Trandoshans are known to listen to Consulars so much better than Sentinels.”
“Fair point,” Seni laughed, “but not what I was going to say.”
The breeze of a passing speeder ruffled Shana’s hair. “Now, I really don’t want to hear it.” She frowned. This was not a topic she wanted to broach, least of all with Seni.
“Too bad.” Seni glanced behind her. “Looks like I won’t have long. But, Shana, people aren’t stupid. The Council is definitely not stupid--and remember Master Leira is on it. So…Don’t. Be. Stupid.”
“Rich, coming from you. You have yet another trip to Ord Mantell scheduled.”
“Don’t go sticking your nose into my business and I won’t go sticking mine into yours. Your secret is safe with me.”
“I don’t have secrets.”
“Yeah? Well, your non-secret is right behind us. I’ll scoot. I have a remarkable amount of prep to do for Ord Mantell.”
“Right…”
“Just remember,” Seni said as she departed, “don’t be stupid.”
“Same to you.”
The next person to join Shana on the balcony was more welcome. Warmer, softer, and slightly more reserved with her.
“I don’t need another lecture about keeping myself in check around Trandoshans. I have had plenty of those.”
“Good for you, it’s not a lecture about that. It’s a history lesson.”
“Even worse.” Shana pouted and watched the speeders zip by. If Seni spent too much time deep in the Archives, Gale was worse.
He glanced quickly behind them. “There’s a lot of things we don’t talk about,” he began. “Things we’re not even supposed to talk about. Legends you only hear in the corners, in the deep places of the Archives from holocrons as old as the Temple.
“Things weren’t always like this. I won’t say it was a free for all, but it wasn’t so strict, so rigid. There were loopholes. There were debates. And I don’t mean the Civil War, though this is related. The Code has evolved. There’s a particular evolution from the Sith Wars I’ve taken to. You might like it as well.
Emotion, yet peace.
Ignorance, yet knowledge.
Passion, yet serenity.
Chaos, yet Harmony.
Death, yet the Force.”
“Sounds like something unendorsed.”
“Certainly. But I feel it’s more accurate to reality. We can’t be without emotions; we’re not droids. We always have gaps in knowledge. Our strength and success rely on our passion for justice and peace. There is always chaos; we are to find and bring harmony. We die, but we are one with the Force.
“Our Code, no matter the version, guides us to balance and grounds us in the Light. The Sith refuse peace and pursue power for their own gain. That is what sets us apart: we balance our passions, they indulge. And that’s why I like that old Code--it reminds me that the Light doesn’t have to be a rigid set of rules; it can be a point between none and too many. The Sith have one thing right: the Force will set us free. But we have to let ourselves be free, not constrained by excess rules.”
“So what you’re saying is that…I should ignore some rules?”
Gale smiled. “I’m saying that if we followed that Code, maybe your friend wouldn’t have to come up with the oddest reasons to visit Ord Mantell.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Right…Shana, she’s no less wrong for it. If anything, she has something right. She goes on those trips to find balance again. She loses track of things more easily and is more likely to frustrate herself before she leaves. She comes back, and she’s relaxed, at ease.
“She finds her balance.”
Shana nodded. “I see. Balance can be found by unconventional means?”
“Of course. Perhaps you have a few ideas?” Gale grinned at her.
She couldn’t help but grin back. “Sounds like my best bet is to start by getting away from the Temple for a while. I have some duties coming up that could use a Consular, and Seni will be unavailable. Care to join?”
“It would be my pleasure.”
---
Please tell me someone is dorky and a little older and didn’t have a life between December of 2011 and about late 2012/early 2013 and gets my Ord Mantell reference.
While I did use SWTOR and the old d20 tabletop for some framework, this has no set temporal setting, it's just gotta be significantly after the Jedi Civil War.
Also, I have no idea what Star Wars canon looks like anymore. There were some amazing things in the EU, but Disney threw out the baby with the bathwater. If Jedi things seem weird, it's because of that.

@kckramer said: This will sound awful, but I have yet to figure out the reward tracks 😂
Looool it took me forever too at first, but it's actually pretty simple. Hope you don't mind me pulling your reply to make a quick guide for anyone who needs it!
You access it with shift+i or you can go here on the menu:

You'll then have a track that looks like this with levels 1-100:

This is completed but while you're working on it you'll have a bar to show your progress like this, and when the bar is full the "claim" button will be able for you to click. It will be greyed out like above after you claim your reward.

Unlike SWTOR where you have to do specific tasks/quests/etc. you can do anything in LotRO as long as it offers Legendary Item Experience, the stuff that used to level up your Legendary Weapon in the old system. Quests that offer it will have this in the rewards section:

You do have to complete the Moria intro to gain access to the Legendary Items Reward track, but afterward just about every quest will count since almost all offer Legendary Item Experience.
I don't usually finish the track as a casual solo player + being grown-up with a full time job (who is also often trying to do SWTOR's seasons too) but I imagine if you play regularly it shouldn't be too hard.

SWTOR: New Player Combat/Survival Tips
If you're familiar with SWTOR, these are things you probably know backward and forward. Think back, though: when you first downloaded and started playing, were they all so obvious - particularly if you didn't play similar games/MMOs before? Here are ten things I wish I'd known when I started playing SWTOR. If you're a newbie, hopefully they will help you too. 1. Take a picture of your abilities bar.
There are several bugs in various areas that will inadvertently unlock your abilities bar, sending your carefully arranged abilities scattering in all directions. You may accidentally unlock the bar yourself, or forget to lock it again after adjusting something.
Take a photo of your characters' abilty bars. Use the screenshot function in the game. Use CTRL+Print Screen on a PC. Take a photo of the screen with your phone. Whatever works. That way, if a character's abilities go floating, you will have a reference guide to put everything back in its proper place.
2. Kill the healers first.

In a lot of fights, there will be medics or other NPCs who heal their colleagues as you're fighting. Needless to say this can complicate your fights.
Sometimes the medics really will have nameplates that say 'medic.' Other times they won't. You have to learn to pick them out of the crowd. They usually hang toward the back of the mob, as opposed to the other NPCs who will charge at you. They are also often weaker and don't have gold or silver tags. You may spot them fiddling with a scanner device in their hand or casting Force healing toward whoever you're fighting. Look at what your own healer companions do, and learn to recognize it - and then take out the healers first.
3. Learn what your interrupts are.
Every character is given at least one 'interrupt.' This is an ability that, as the name would suggest, can interrupt a cast or an action being taken by an enemy NPC. If you use this skill, you stop the enemy from doing whatever it is trying to do to you.
How do you find out what your interrupt skill is? Click P. Now click on the first entry, and scroll down the list to browse your abilities. Click the second and do the same. If you mouse over each ability, you will get a text box that tells you what they do.
Every class and advanced class has their own interrupt(s), and the icons often have different meanings with different classes - so do read the descriptions.
Once you have found your interrupt, make sure it's on your ability bar. How? Unlock your ability bar with the small padlock on the left. Put your cursor over the skill you want (you can only do this with abilities that are NOT marked as "passive"). Put the skill on the ability bar. Lock it by clicking the padlock again.
I tend to keep my interrupts and stun breakers on the far right side of the bar so I always know where they are immediately.
4. Learn what your stun breakers/cleanses are.
Every character also has at least one 'stun breaker.' This is an ability that will break a hold that an enemy NPC has on you or cleanse a negative effect they've given you. you want to know what this is and have it on your abilities bar ready to go.
How do you find your stun breaker (s)? See above.
5. Learn what your stuns are.
As the name would suggest, these are skills that momentarily stun or incapacitate an enemy so they stop fighting you. If you're having trouble in a fight, stunning them for a second can help you take a breather.
Find them and put them on your ability bar by following the instructions above.
6. Know if your character has heals, and what they are.
Some advanced classes, notably Marauders, really don't have any good ways to heal themselves in battle. Others, like Sage and Mercenaries, have a lot of heals for themselves and others. Find them. Add them to your abilities bar.
For the characters that have a lot of heals, like Sorcerers, Scoundrels and Operatives, I find that it helps to keep them all in one place - in my case, on the left hand abilities side bar.
7. Use your Heroic Moment.

Heroic Moment is a special set of abilities you can call upon. You can get eight of them in total. They are awarded when you finish each class story for the first time. They include an orbital strike, a kick, Force lightning, and more. You will also be slowly healed for the entire two minutes the Heroic Moment is active. The abilities will appear in a special bar above your regular abilities bar - use them as you will.
If you're having trouble in a fight or fighting a boss, do not feel shy about calling on your Heroic Moment. You can only use it once every five minutes. If you have a boss fight coming up, don't feel bad about hanging back for a moment to let it cool down.
8. Repair your gear whenever you can.

Your weapons and other gear get damaged as you fight. As it wears down, it's less effective at both offense and defense, and your fights will become more difficult and longer. Repair it whenever you can. You will know if you need to repair your gear if the "repair all" button is lit up when you are interacting with a vendor. Invest in the Legacy repair perks, which allow you to summon a field repair droid. Buy the Legacy perk which places a repair droid on your ship. As you are out and about, remember just about any vendor can repair your gear, not just the ones marked as medical droids.
8. Make friends with at least one companion.

Your companions can be set to heal, tank or go on the offense (damage). The higher your influence is, the more effective they will be at any role. IMHO it's really worth it to work on getting at least one favored companion to influence level 50. Or as high as you can.
You can raise your companions' influence by giving them gifts they like, getting approval (or even disapproval) from them in conversations and cut scene choices, and sending them on crew skills missions. There are two Legacy perks - Legacy of Altruism and Legacy of Persuasion - that will raise the amount of influence you get from conversations and gifts. IMHO they are worth buying.
8. a. Use Presence stims

Let's say you have a required companion for some content - something that annoyingly happens more and more. Let's say your influence with that companion is low. Buy a Command/Presence stim from the nearest medical droid. They're usually pink. These stims raise your presence level so your companion(s) will temporarily be more effective.
9. Get some datacrons

Datacrons are little magical cubes that you can find here and there on SWTOR's many planets, moons, and even the Fleets. Each datacron will permanently bump up your Mastery, Endurance or Presence stats slightly for all your characters and give you some XP and a lore entry, and those things are always helpful.
If you've read the guides for the datacrons you might be intimidated. It's true that some of them are so hard to get that you may spend hours trying. When I started playing SWTOR I didn't even try to get the datacrons because I was intimidated.
However, some of them are so easy to get that you literally just walk up to them. No jumping, no grouping up, no fancy tricks. Thus even if you do not have the desire to go on an ambitious datacron hunt, do try to get the ones that you can stroll over to or access easily.
10. Change your camera angle.
If you look at videos of SWTOR gameplay you will notice that people play from a variety of angles. Some are close to their characters, some are not. Different fights and area of the game may call for different angles. Play around and figure out what works best for you. Sometimes the right camera angle can help you see something that's making a fight tough and show you how to resolve it.

Rain Plays SWTOR: 7.0 Damage Control
Huh, I said I had done my last Rain PLays SWTOR for a while, and here I am. I've been keeping an eye on the dev announcements and streams, and I wanted to do a guide to help anyone who may still have loose ends in the game. The devs have apparently decided to completely alienate anyone who isn't a NiM raider of a certain stripe, and I honestly don't think the game will survive it. I have already decided I will not be playing once 7.0 drops. Bioware has made it clear that players who are not raiders are not welcome, and frankly I don't think a lot of raiders will be happy with the changes either. They are making characters slower, more squishable, with less abilities and far fewer opportunities to tailor your gear to your own needs. They are pushing everyone into the same daily and weekly areas to force more grouping. Frankly it all sounds extremely unpleasant to play, and my goal is to finish up with my remaining characters, enjoy SWTOR while I still have it, and then leave it at 7.0. If they reverse some of these changes later, I may return, but it would have to be an entire sea change, and I'd have to be convinced that SWTOR actually accepts its non-raider playerbase. Having said that - if you are interested in playing 7.0 or hopes to come back later, or you have loose ends to tie up, here are some suggestions to do damage control on the things the devs are about to nuke. Mods
IMHO this is one of the most egregious and unforgivable changes being made with 7.0. The devs have decided that only the top echelon of gear will be moddable, and that will at least initially only be available to raiders. Anyone else? SOL. Everything else will be static, and as per the PTS forum, isn't exactly optimized. If you want any mods for your gear at the lower levels - get them now. Hang on to some 306 stuff if you think you will have a character reaching 75 in future. Your crafters can learn recipes to craft mods through the high 200s. My crafters have been unable to retrieve schematics for higher ranked mods, hilts or enhancements by reverse engineering, but 268-274 should at least get your characters through level 75. I don't know if they will disable the ability of crafters to make the mods/hilts/barrels/enhancements once 7.0 rolls around if they already know the recipes. That isn't how it's worked with other things like certain crystals which have schematics that are not obtainable now. As long as you have the recipe and mats, you can still make the item.
Having said that the devs are being especially evil with removing anything that offers players any semblance of choice on how they play or gear their characters - so put nothing past them. Artifice - hilts Cybertech - enhancements, mods Armstech - barrels Armormech - armoring
Social points In 7.0, social points will only be earned through group finder. Because Bioware apparently feels that it's not social to hang out with your actual friends, but it IS social to be involuntarily paired with complete strangers in group finder. Okay then. From what I understand, and I will freely admit I don't understand the social points system entirely - the social rank you have will remain in 7.0, they won't be erasing that. I believe they have also said the vendors will still be there. Having said that if this is important to you and you would like to be social with people you know and not random dudebros, now might be the time. DvL tokens
Currently, you earn one Dark Side or Light Side token depending on your alignment when you hit a renown level, if that side is winning the galaxy. For example, if you hit a renown level and are aligned LS, and the LS is currently triumphant, you get a LS token. But if the DS is triumphant at that moment you don't get the token. Reports seem to be that there will not be a way to earn DS or LS tokens in 7.0 and that the ability will only eventually be returned with DvL bosses. Thus, if you want to earn these tokens, you need to do it now. The LS and DS tokens can be used to buy some very cool looking armor, weapons, pets and vehicles. It seems that the vendors will remain after 7.0 drops, but you need to have the currency in advance because you will no longer have a way to earn it. DS/LS aligned gear Unless I've read the dev announcement incorrectly, everyone's LS/DS level will be reset in 7.0. If you have already reached DS or LS V on characters those achievements will remain - but nobody will be that rank anymore. In 7.0 you are also unable to adjust the toggle to your desired alignment and you will only be getting DS/LS points from conversations/etc. Some armor and weapons require a specific LS/DS alignment to be equipped, even if it's only in outfit designer. If you want any of that armor or gear on your characters, add it now. As it stands at the moment, what matters is your alignment when you equip the armor - Viri was more or less LS aligned during her class story run and thus was able to unlock those pets and armors. She can still use them because they're already in her outfit designer slots, but I can't add them again now that she's DS aligned. Hopefully that will be the case in 7.0. Having said that, again - I put nothing past the devs to make things absolutely miserable here, too.
Renown Renown is going away, so if you want any of the achievements for reaching Renown level 100 or 999 on one or more classes, now's the time. If you still have Renown boosts, time to use them up. Daily area reputation The weeklies will not be available for every area every week - and as per the devs, they intend to shove everyone onto the same mission. They are also tying it to gearing in an attempt to once again recycle older content. Thus, count on the daily/weekly areas being an absolute zoo once 7.0 drops. If you're interested in raising your rep in these areas to Legend, it might be wise to tackle that now. Daily areas involved with story arcs By the same token, if you need or want to finish Oricon, Ossus/Jedi Under Siege or the Yavin 4 section of Shadow of Revan - best do it now. Those areas are daily areas as well as story areas, and they stand to be very, very crowded once 7.0 drops. 6.0 armor Some of the 6.0 armor sets that drop from Conquest/Tradehouse Missions/etc. are actually pretty cool for your character to wear, and they are clones or close cousins to armor that was previously available from things like ranked PvP. So if you want your character to wear any of these sets, buy them now. Also, if you're interested in any of the achievements for collecting all pieces of armor for a set, those will be unattainable in 7.0 so do them now. Any difficult solo content Bioware seems to have adopted the NiM dudebro elitist code of "you don't need that armor if you're not a raider, and how dare you try to solo content we wanted to force you to group to do." The armor that is being given to anyone who is not a raider - that includudes not only solo players but also PvPers and fans of Veteran/NiM flashpoint group content - appears to be poorly optimized and is not moddable. They are saying it's good enough to do the solo/story content. That probably means it's not good enough to strike out on your own and challenge yourself by soloing more difficult stuff. So - if you have any lingering Veteran Star Fortress companions to collect, you want to do the Dread Seeds or most of the Macrobinoculars, you want to solo veteran flashpoints or do the Uprisings - carpe diem.

wip ask meme
Kindly tagged by @sullustangin, thanks so much!
Rules: post the names of all the files in your WIP folder regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. Let people send you an ask with the title that most intrigues them and then post a little snippet of it or tell them something about it! And then tag as many people as you have wips. (You can make your own post or reblog this one!) This isn’t just for writing either. Sketch titles? Comics? DnD campaigns? If you have an unfinished project, it counts!!
Oh boy. Can I actually remember them all? Bold of anyone to assume I have a folder. I’m a trash gremlin who lives off of Google Docs, okay? So let’s goooo!!!!
I’m not sure how many lovelies I have to tag vs how many WIPs I will uncover on this trek, so I’m just gonna throw out some names for friends with absolutely no pressure and also if you see this and you wanna do it, feel free to declare yourself tagged by me xD Also if you’d like me to tag you in stuff like this, feel free to shoot me a message or an ask because I know there’s plenty of you in my notes, but I’m usually shy about starting conversation so I don’t want to bother anyone with tags that don’t like it, so I tend to err on the side of caution and leave these general.
@firelightmuse @fatewalker-phoenix @traveler-of-light @ffxivbabey @captainderyn
And, without further ado, let’s see what I can cook up here!
(I did, in fact, find more than I thought I would. As seems inevitable, lol).
SWTOR
I’m actually... better than I have been about WIPs and stuff in the past thanks to getting into SWTOR and writing for it because one (1) night it was midnight and I decided that my Tyr x Theron brainrot had to go SOMEWHERE so it might as well be AO3. So, in my attempts to continue embracing that philosophy of just sharing to share, a lot of what I write for SWTOR tends to be posted the day I finish it or a bit later if I need to let it marinate for elaboration or editing purposes. But I do have some. Of course I do.
“through passion”
“check the mirror”
“lessons”
“chase the light” sort of swtor, sort of just... inspired by swtor. but very heavily influenced by my swtor experience, so we’ll put this one here.
“arena grand poster” (aka ‘girl help i have an idea that’s probably above my current skill ceiling; this is a backburner project that one day, i might get to, one day i might not. we’ll see. but i still think about it a lot, lol)
does wanting to get back to charcoal portraits count? practicing on my swtor ocs? the sheer idea of it??? another girl help above my current skill level thing, but, hey, the way to get there is practice so i need to start on something, might as well be blorbos from my video games
FFXIV
“don’t say goodbye”
“what follows”
“like shattered glass”
“eden’s verse reminiscence” (omg hi i forgot you existed??? what is this???)
“proceedings interrupted” (this is. borderline original but heavily inspired by xiv content, so once again, oddball but i’ll put it here)
okay god now we’re getting into the stuff i haven’t looked at in moons, oh boy
“cherish”
“desire”
“our answer”
“where we belong”
DRAGON AGE
They technically exist. Nothing I have written for DA has ever seen light of day outside of Discord DMs. But since you asked nicely, lol
“guide”
“and if you close your eyes...”
“ma melava halani” (don’t ask me to translate that, i thought i knew what i was doing then but i don’t know if i trust me now, lmao)
--
Okay, if I dig any deeper into Google Docs, I have no idea what we’ll find, but man I found some finished stuff I haven’t seen in ages, too, so this was a fun trip either way, lol!

Do images like this Befuddle and Perplex you? Me too.
But the video (source of the screenshot attached) & article Swtorista posted have very thorough explanations of the 7.0 system:
How Gearing Works at Level 80 in SWTOR (video)
https://swtorista.com/articles/swtor-level-80-gearing-guide/
In my own words, based on info like this & my experiences so far, I offer a tl;dr of the current Preferred Strategies for “make gear number go up”:
Step 1 (required): -get to lvl 80
Step 1b (strongly advised): -find the blue twi’lek in the supplies/gear vendor section on fleet who has a MISSION for you (get started collecting data points for Science)
~
Step 2 (advised): -keep an eye on the silver Medals of Commendation in the currency tab (if you are getting 100k CQ points--especially on more than one alt--you'll earn them Fast) -find the CQ gear vendor > buy a set of gear on your main -congrats you're at 320!
THIS IS A TOTALLY FINE PLACE TO STOP, IF YOU INTEND ON RUNNING STORY MODE OPS! Vet mode FPs, too. You’re fine.
(I haven’t tried a Vet ops yet, but even REALLY GOOD raiders are having trouble with them right now -- 326 gear is maybe /not/ your first concern if you weren’t working on that content in 6.x before the update.)
~
Step 3 (PVP/Thyrsian/yellow jacket edition): -play GSF for the daily/weekly (can be completed MULTIPLE TIMES per week, per character) -get crates and/or spend [currencies] to climb from 320 > Thyrsian 326
Alternate Step 3 (no PVP/GSF): -pick up the world boss weekly mission & start joining the farming on Nar Shaddaa/any other WB boss on the “Priority Targets” list > get a WHOLE BUNCH of Aquatic Resource Matrix currency (people often re-share the WB weekly as members of a group finish & others are ready to repeat it! you can complete it MULTIPLE TIMES per week, per character) -spend Medals + Aquas at the CQ upgrade vendor to go extremely slowly from 320 > 326
Another Alt Step 3 (solo grind): -find activities like heroic/planet weeklies that give Aqua currency as mission rewards > grind that stuff -spend Medals + Aquas at the CQ upgrade vendor to go extremely slowly from 320 > 326
~
Step 4 (relevant only to Vet & NiM ops): -pick up the weekly for the ops you’re going to do!!! Don’t forget (it has a crate for you) -wear your complete 326 set of gear into Vet mode or NiM ops -profit (instead of lower iRating gear, you’ll pick up blu / purbl Columni & Rakata drops that are at least 326)
~
Bonus: -daily/weekly missions drop crates with a piece of gear inside. If you’re looking to gear-up an alt, those are an ez, solo-player way to get stuff that matches the iRating of 326 gear on loan from your main (with good CQ/currency gains at the same time) -you can grind-farm crates with or without wearing 326, just be sure you gear-up when you’re ready to OPEN them
Ta-da!
Other notes: -Story Mode ops fit into Step 3, but mind your accuracy stats if you’re a DPS wearing PvP/Thyrsian stuff. Lol (approx. 110% accuracy is preferred for ops DPS) -the reason everyone ignores FP gear is b/c it’s super costly in time spent to grind vs. currency acquired. Expensive upgrades. :( -if you do run a lot of FP and find yourself able to afford to buy your way up a slot that way: go for it. Numbers are numbers when it comes to higher iRating. -you DO NOT need to wear DPS gear that matches your class; Boltblaster, Targeter, Pummeler, & Force-Lord have the same overall stats -- HOWEVER: this becomes untrue if you mix & match pieces from different sets (Why? For example: 2 of the DPS types store their alacrity in their hat, the other 2 use a hat for accuracy. Each type has 1 item with crit, but it is the gloves, pants, or the boots depending which set) -at the same time: when your goal is to reach 326 iRating, it doesn’t matter. Wear tank gear, wear your healer set*. Break your stats!! Don’t let it stop you.
*(If you care about min-maxing in the future, apparently the fussy BiS meta suggests DPS should have healer braces and belt.)
If you’re struggling a lot with the details of this system, I can try to answer questions. . . @ me in the comments, or send an ask/tumblr DM. Good luck!

The Master KOTET Adventure

Well at last, my journey is complete. This was some of the most frustrating, and at times hilariously so, content I’ve ever done - but at the same time there were some parts that felt really rewarding and, dare I say it, even enjoyable.
So as with my Master KOTFE adventure, I’ve written it all up in case you should ever find yourself wanting a go. As with before, I play a Rage Jugg, 306 gear, Descent of the Fearless set, fully augmented but not min-maxed. Here’s how it went, and warning, it gets long:
Chapter I
I was hopeful about this chapter as it's the only one I'd completed on veteran, and I was already much more prepared. On master though, it still caused me problems. The first death was an unexpected attack from a Knight that dealt like 140,000 damage, which, ouch... The first boss was the main cause of difficulty in this chapter for me, which was the PA-717 droid. The best tactic was basically just stay as close as possible to it, stay out of its blue conal and hope you don't get shoved into mines, and just hit it as hard as you can. Took a few attempts and the successful one was itself a close call, with Lana dying with probably around 15% health left (didn't get to check exactly because, you know, fighting for my life). After that there's quite a few mobs already engaged in battles with Mandos, I just ran through them, also ignored the bonus objectives which I don't think made any difference.
You have a cutscene where you catch up with Theron and then face swarms of Skytroopers in a building. It is probably beneficial to have range here as there are kolto stations which I didn't manage to use a lot because I was always chasing after the droids. It does give you a checkpoint before the Knights come along, and even if you die then the battle carries on around you (and I had to file a bug report as my heroic moment wasn't working properly, so actually kind of cheesed the boss a bit by letting others deal with it ha). Once revived though, it wasn't so bad.
The walker is everyone's nightmare in this chapter. I follow this guide every time now and it does save a lot of hassle. The final walker fight actually went the best it's ever gone for me, I found the mobs a lot harder than the Big Droid at the end which didn't really touch me that much. No real difficulties after that.
Chapter II
This is the one I'd been fearing from the start, as it's regarded as one of the most difficult things to do in the game solo. I remember trying it on vet mode with my PT and not even being able to get past the jungle creatures, i.e. the very first mob. The only slice of hope was that I've heard the difference between vet mode and master mode isn't massive, but. It was still horrible. Died once on the jungle creatures but it wasn't a big problem really, and that was a fight that didn't reset progress so I got it on the second attempt. Not easy, but manageable. The first big challenge is the Genoharadan Scout camp, and honestly several attempts with a few different tactics didn't seem to get me anywhere (though on one I did get reasonably close) - so I called in a friend and we got through it quickly. No problems from then onwards until we got to the last boss, the Genoharadan Leader plus two hunters. And that was a Time.
As 2 dps with 2 healing companions, we went for targeting the hunters first, and generally we managed to get both of them down, but our companions would either be dead or very close to it. I'm not great at micromanaging companions anyway, and that was something that was definitely needed with Acina to pull her out of the fire and on the ground and all that. So we called in a tank to join us, and we made progress but still struggled. We did discover that with the people you call in, if they die it's alright to go to the med centre and then run back to the room and rejoin the fight without it resetting - but for the phase owner if they die, they can't leave the room (leaving the room will exit the battle, and on this fight it does reset progress). So we decided the best course of action was to get a Real Person Healer to join us rather than Acina, who will stand in everything. Funnily enough, having an actual person proved much more effective and we got it first time! It's a very chaotic fight overall, you get chucked around a lot, there's lots of ridiculously high damage abilities, lots of things to stand in and die, and so on. I definitely wouldn't recommend going alone. Acina will stay with you, doesn't seem to matter what the group size is - she stayed with us when we had a group of four - her influence level is also at the start of the chapter though I raised it to 50 (she's another who likes delicacy gifts which is always good). It was brutal, but it's done.
Chapter III
A nice breather, no deaths at all. I even managed the mouse droid on the first attempt! Stealth squads of troopers bring health down a bit but nothing to worry about, was always in control. Vaylin fight doesn't matter so much as it cuts out early. No real boss fight.
Chapter IV
This one caused me more problems than I thought it would, as though there's no real boss fight there is a swarm near the end and after many attempts on my own, trying to raise Vette's influence further to see if it would help (it did, but not enough), I had to call in a friend. Still took a few attempts with the two of us. Initially we went for having both comps on heals, then we found it was better to have one healing and one dps to nuke it a bit, and eventually we got through it - though I only had 6% health left. It was another of those fights where it resets completely on dying, though your friend can go to medcenter and jump back into the fight. Jugg just wasn't the ideal class for that one I think. After that there were no problems, beforehand it was just the odd Compactor Droid causing me issues, though as long as I used my defensives efficiently it was fine as they lose health quickly too.
Chapter V
This one wasn't too bad. Quite a lot of waves of droid mobs again, they do take your health down quite a bit, but by this stage I'm used to that! It's just a chapter where staying out of red things is key really. When you face the giant droid you don't get hit too much, just watch out when it's the time the repair droids come along because being caught in the big attacks will hurt. The droid does lose health at a good pace though. When you go in the droid it's a pretty simple fight, just have to make sure you regen your health regularly (one time I did not and guess what happened?).
I didn't die on the fight against ARIES. From what I'd read, the key seemed to be staying out of melee range...not ideal for a Jugg. So I decided on keeping mobile and utilising my attacks that did have a bit of range as much as possible. (ARIES also tells you to stand still if you want to die, a good reminder if you still needed one!). It was a bit grindy but my health was never really a concern, I ran around a lot and stayed out of the red and all was well.
Chapter VI
So this one was another Experience. Half of it is a puzzle which is a nice change of pace, and no different from story. I would recommend at this stage doing the Bergola bonus mission - I'd never actually done it before, but it does mean you don't need to fight the extra pups when the beast pit starts, and instead have them on your side. Which is definitely a help of sorts, but that fight in the beast pit is definitely something. The best tactic seemed to be getting as many stuns in as possible, as he can be stunned and interrupted - I put Theron onto damage as well to use his stun, used heroic moments for the extra stuns as well. The beast casts a big circle around itself that takes out nearly all of your health, and he has a habit of hitting you as soon as you get out of it and killing you as well, in short it wasn't fun on melee and involved lots of screaming and running away. The other thing is kite him away from Indo Zal, just take him the opposite direction to keep him alive.
And then the very interesting thing. Because it was Hell I invited a friend to come along. HOWEVER, they were stuck in the Zakuulan Knight armour that you wear at the start of the chapter and couldn't do any abilities apart from a bit of companion micromanagement and a lot of emotional support. They also put their companion onto attack for the extra stun, then heal later in the chapter to try and throw some heals at me during the Arcann fight.
That Arcann fight...I chose the light side options in chapter II so I had him on my side, but that didn't make the chapter easier. You're not able to heal Arcann so I just tried to taunt things off him if his health was getting low. I focused on the Captain and tried to ignore the adds as much as possible, used Arcann's reflect to take them out, starting the fight with his taunt and then praying I hit the guard break in time so I could do damage...I had Theron on damage here as well as the plan was basically burn as quickly as possible. It may be better on a character that has some ability to heal Arcann as companions won't...or it may be better to take the dark side option earlier in the story so you're fighting against him rather than with him (though that's a trade-off with the final chapter fights).
This chapter was certainly a trial but we got there in the end. It's best to keep a level head and not panic, skills that I did not pick up from my class trainer and instead ran around in fear and at times forgot how to swtor.
Chapter VII
This is an interesting chapter without masses of fighting, there's 3 boss fights but not masses of trash in-between. First up is the Horizon Guard, which took three or four attempts but really the best strategy for me was nuke him with a heroic moment, stuns, and interrupts. The main challenge I had on this chapter was the two Twisted Experiments. They cast corrosive goo, which you see as a green circle. It can be interrupted, they can be stunned, so it was just a matter of managing that. It was difficult with the two of them there - with a Jugg I used intimidating roar to give me some time to blast just one, it may help to use a stealth class that can stun better, or a sorc/sage that can whirlwind. The good thing is that it was finally a fight in KotET that doesn't reset your progress, so if you take one down you don't have to restart the whole thing. It does bug when you die though - you end up behind a locked door and have to leave and re-enter the phase. That was only the case on the first death though. Or else I would have done it a lot.
Last up is the Corrupted Vault Guardian. Didn't die on this fight, though I did on the two elites before - mostly because I lost Lana early and couldn't use a heroic moment. I ran around the room, stunning/slowing and interrupting as I could, nearly got through without dying anyway and again it's not a fight that resets. The Guardian boss covers the floor in red stuff called morass, it doesn't go away, so manoeuvre him well or blast him fast. Or don't, like me. I just kind of kited him round the room, he doesn't move fast. Lost Lana at the end because she couldn't avoid the morass but I could, and by then he was nearly dead. Because I didn't die on this I didn't really read up on the mechanics, because on reading my go-to guide it looks like there's more - so er, that's probably a good thing to do if you have trouble! Overall though, this was a chapter with challenges but I found it had a better balance between being challenging and enjoyable.
Chapter VIII
One of the easiest chapters of the bunch. There's lots of trash, and quite a bit of it skippable - either as it is already in combat, or my manoeuvring around it. The walker is a pain but was never at risk of dying. Some interesting bits though. You face a guy called Tyrall Jerikko where the Gravestone is dry-docked, he has two droids with him so I yeeted one off - it disappeared but didn't die, I got through the fight...Tyrall and the droids then respawned so I had to do it again. Hmm. I still yeeted the droid again though, it also didn't die but the fight mostly worked properly at least, I lost Lana (not sure why) but I was never in much danger. The other minor issue I had was in the fight with the Knight just before rescuing Vette, not entirely sure what happened, the adds just seemed to overwhelm me. Used a heroic moment and the cannon you're given on my second go and it took a matter of seconds.
Vaylin is actually an easy fight, though it took 3 attempts - the first I didn't plan for her adds properly, the second I was yeeted. Having Arcann with me meant I got his abilities from chapter 6 again - the taunt and reflect - which took the adds out. Heroic moment also does the trick, though I didn't have it on my successful run. Stay at melee range - in her purple circle she keeps close and you're fine. If you're wiser than me, look for when she's about to do the explosion with the knockback and get yourself against a wall so you don't get thrown off. Or be like me, and don't.
Chapter IX
So the final chapter. It's in two halves basically - with the first there's no boss, buy there is a lot of trash. I had Arcann and Senya has my companions, which meant I had Arcann's abilities again which are brilliant for dealing with trash, and I was getting better at managing them as well. Use his taunt and reflect, it speeds things up. There's two major waves that end with two Knights coming along and it was on those where I had the trouble - it just got a bit too much at the end and with things on cooldown. But the fights don't reset, I put heroic moment on just in case, the Knights were blasted in seconds. It may be more tricky if you have Lana and Theron, but I think these are fights more of annoyance rather than being impossible.
The second half, then. First you fight Vaylin, it's the same mechanics from the previous chapter and not too difficult to deal with. I had Dramath with me so I had the healing, it may be a bit more difficult if you take the light sided decision in chapter 7. He's auto-boosted up to level 45. Again, watch out for the knockbacks.
If you saved Arcann, he's your companion in the final fight. After a quick death I ran to fleet and gave him a compendium so he went up to level 50 influence. Fighting Valkorion is very challenging, and involves lots of running around to get out of line of sight of his attacks - things like Project and Force Storm that will take two thirds or so of your health and leave you desperate to find a memory of healing, at which point you'll inevitably get slowed down by his Dark Ritual and not make it and die (this can be interrupted, but I was rarely within range to do so because...kiting).
The basic idea on this one is when he shifts to the light/dark, you follow suit - it seems to be random as to which one he goes to. When you're shifting make sure you hide behind rocks or something (under the stairs is the best bet I found) - so none of those nasty abilities wipe chunks of your health again. It became a bit of a game of hide and seek from there. The light side abilities seem to have faster cast times than the dark, where often he'd get me with a dark ritual whilst I was trying to hit him. You need to survive one of these phases, switch back to normal, use the holocron ability again, and on the second light/dark phase is when he dies. This took many attempts, though it doesn't seem to affect your repair bills too badly which is a plus.
Some final notes:
Going Commando once again proved a valuable resource, with plenty of tips and general experiences of doing it. My experience didn't always match up to theirs, in part due to the classes we used, but there's a wealth of information there.
I think experiences will vary depending on your choice with Arcann in the first chapter. He was a pain to use in chapter 6, but his abilities were very useful in chapters 8 and 9.
On average I'd say it's more difficult than KotFE - the hardest chapters are very hard, and I brought a friend along three times (well, two and a half, given the chapter 6 experience) because I was just not making progress - whereas I only had help once in KotFE.
As with KotFE, different classes are probably better suited to different chapters, and if you’re just seeking the achievement and have the options available - you might want to try different things accordingly. I think Jugg/Guardian is a decent all-round bet though, plus I made myself a Grit Teeth which gives me even more survivability.
I think this has made me a better player! That may be up for debate, and I’m still prone to wild panic a lot of the time, but there were also lots of times I really found myself better at studying mechanics and finding the best strategies for me to beat them.
Completing a master chapter completes the achievement for veteran (and story) as well, so it’s a great way to rack up cheevos - and now my KotET completion is at 100% which is incredibly satisfying. But it doesn’t grant a title, sadly.
Another shoutout to @sparkles-and-rust as my go to when I needed a helping hand or just some emotional support!

SWtOR OC Challenge Day 3

3. Name. How did you come up with their name? What is it in-game? What do people call them? What do *you* call them?
His full, technical, in-game name is Tel’contar Arien(bc he’s on my main server, which is the Arien legacy). He’s a big shining beacon to my advanced level of nerdery. Both part of his name are from LotR. Telcontar is ‘Strider’ in elvish, and Arien is the name of the maiden who guided the sun. (See? NERD) His name did not originally have the apostrophe in it, but then there was a server merge and I had to change it. I gave him a nerdy name bc he was my first m!Trooper and I had NO IDEA how much I was going to love him or that he would wind up my canon and so I was just having fun and “lol let’s be a nerd and give him a LotR reference as a name :D :D :D” (someone on Taris actually whispered me with “guess you’re a lotr fan huh? :P” while I was playing him and yes. Yes I am)
When I talk about him or write him in fic, I usually shorten his name to Tel, and his surname is Airen(I let my agent have “Arien” as her surname, so all my other toons on that server have some rearranging of those letters for their surname. Tel and Silver got Airen bc THAT’s a reference to a New Republic general in the Zahn SW books NERD). Far as I’m concerned, his name is Telcontar Airen and he goes by Tel.
#swtor15#telcontar airen#(for anyone curious yes that#s why bry and vica are nerai and teilha is riane#they're all on that server too)

I found a fan created Old Republic conversion for the West End Star Wars game, and it’s hilariously biased. Or just wildly inconsistent. I can’t decide which. I don’t usually pick on fan created things, but this is so weird.
Quick primer on WE Star Wars stats: there are six of them (Dexterity, Perception, Knowledge, Mechanical, Strength, and Technical), 2D (2 six sided dice) is average, player characters start with 18 dice to allot. (While an average, non-adventuring person in the universe would only get 12 - giving them 2D across the board or some below average attributes. Important NPCs get statted like player characters, with 18 dice.)
It was kind of an unusual game because the attributes aren’t statted across a very big range. 1D-4D is the human range, with some other species going up to 5D. (Like strength in Wookiees, for example.) Also, as you might have noticed, it assumes that player characters are pretty consistently above average.
(It was also my first Star Wars RPG, and I have a soft spot for it, which is why I was looking at the fan conversion in the first place.)
Anyway, at first the character statting looked reasonably normal. For example, Elara Dorne is statted out: Dexterity 3D+2, Perception 2D+2, Knowledge 3D+2, Mechanical 2D+2, Strength 2D+2, Technical 2D+2. (18 dice, unless I’m mathing wrong. Exactly what an important NPC should be statted with)
But then I started noticing some characters who were statted...oddly. A whole ton of companion characters are statted at 2D across the board. Maaaybe companions the creator didn’t like? (I’m guessing this because said listing includes companions some people consider “boring” like Felix Iresso and Nadia Grell, companions who are divisive, like Malavai Quinn and Kaliyo Djannis, and companions everyone hates, like Skadge. (Shouldn’t he be D4 Strength? At least? He’s a Houk!))
Then I started looking at the “Average [SWTOR player class]” stats and that was the point at which I decided I had to share the WTFery. I’m just going to share the four non-Force Sensitive classes because I can’t quite remember how Force Sensitivity fits into character creation. (Yes, I could just go look it up. I’m lazy. It’s late.)
Havoc Squad Trooper: Dexterity 3D+2, Perception 2D+2, Knowledge 1D+1, Mechanical 2D, Strength 3D, Technical 2D+2. (15 1/3 dice. ... Where’d the other 2 2/3s dice go?)
Bounty Hunter: Dexterity 3D, Perception 3D, Knowledge 2D+2, Mechanical, 2D+2, Strength 3D+2, Technical 2D (17 dice. Well, that’s better. We’re still short a die somewhere, but it’s close.)
Average Smuggler: Dexterity 2D+1, Perception 2D, Knowledge 1D+1, Mechanical 2D+2, Strength 2D, Technical 1D+2 (12 dice. 12 dice? That’s the number of dice for an unimportant NPC. They need six more. Six. What the heck? All the Smuggler companions get 18 dice worth of stats! But not the Average Smuggler. Whyyyyy? At...at least their highest stat is the one they’d use for flying. *grasping at straws*)
Average Imperial Agent: Dexterity 3D+1, Perception 4D, Knowledge 3D, Mechanical 3D, Strength 3D+2, Technical 3D (20 dice!? What the everliving fuck??? Did they steal the dice from the other classes? That’s not even the statting for a Cipher Agent (there isn’t one. thank the stars.) just, you know, an average agent. Holy Shinkies, Batman! This isn’t a Galaxy Guide, it’s Imperial Propaganda!)
I so want to know how the person (or persons) who did the conversion came up with their stats. They make no sense. None at all. Not on the companion level (Corso is stronger than Skadge? Guss is stronger than Skadge???), not on the apparent character class level. (who stole all the Smuggler’s dice???). Not even on the important other NPC level (you don’t even want to know how wonky that all gets).
But holy hell are some of the weird stats funny.
Twenty dice!? No! You don’t get twenty dice to stat out your character! Bad!
