Book review- 4 Stars Comparing this book to Fifty Shades of Grey does this book a major disservice. Especially if you want someone who thought that book was hot garbage to read it. Yes it was hot garbage. FIGHT ME. Eva Tramell is young, beautiful, rich and completely messed up by a rough past. Gideon Cross is young, beautiful, even richer then Eva and completely messed up by a rough past. Eva is well aware of her flaws, upfront about them, and has taken steps to try and piece herself back together ( i. e. Therapy). Gideon past is also fucked all the way up and he thinks he's fine and it takes coming across Eva to realize that's he's seriously the fuck not and his billionaire self needs therapy as well. AND THERE'S NO SHAME IN THAT. This books gets way intense at times. Both Eva and Gideon feel very real. Yes they are young, rich, hot AF and the sex is B-A-N-A-N-A-S...but that's half the reason we read these books. The other half is to feel that connection with two people just trying to deal with life and their past and moving forward and maybe with that one person who'll stand by you when you're on top of the world and when you feel like the whole world is against you. I felt like this book was giving me whiplash from all the running back and forth Eva was doing. She was quick to say EFF ALL THIS IM OUT GIDEON. Caught a little sunshine 🌞 𝘽𝙤𝙤𝙠 𝙍𝙚𝙫𝙞𝙚𝙬: Pride and Pleasure by @sylvia_day Rating: 4.5/5 stars Goodreads: 3.75 ⭐ I borrowed this book from @theintrovertedreader_ as I wanted to read all the Sylvia Day books we own collectively! I enjoy Day's historical fiction and have now read every one! She also writes in other genres such as fantasy and contemporary fiction. This book has nothing to do with Pride and Prejudice before you think it is. It has the fake dating trope which I love and will read forever! Jasper Bond is hired by Eliza Martin to pretend to court her in her final season to dissuade any other suitors that may be after her money. Of course Bond takes this as a challenge. While he takes his job seriously he want to prove Eliza wrong, who believes she could never be seduced by such a man. This was a simple and easy read with the spice that we come to expect from Day's writings. This one is set in London 1818, a similar time to when Bridgeton was set. It comes with a twist ending that I didn't guess. I thought it was a good idea and something that wouldn't be expected at the time. It was great to read Eliza, who was an independent woman of the time, which is rare, with her own money and encouraging other women of the same path. I’ll just jump in and tell you what I got!

1. Go Set A Watchman by Harper Lee

Although this book doesn’t have the best rating, I’ve been interested in reading it for a while now. I wouldn’t have hunted it out, but this hardback was in perfect condition and I couldn’t resist.

I added this to the list of books I wanted to read back in July and had been waiting for a good deal on it. So when I saw the perfect condition hardback, I jumped for it.

It's the beginning of the summer in a small town in Ireland. Emma O'Donovan is eighteen years old, beautiful, happy, confident. One night, there's a party. Everyone is there. All eyes are on Emma. I knew nothing about this book but it looks really interesting!

These books are the second and third books in the Crossfire series. I read Bared to You (number one) while on holiday so when I saw that the other two books were there at an extremely cheap price, I got them.

I won’t talk too much about the synopsis of these as they are not the first in the series, but if you like Fifty Shades, you’ll like these.

Book review- 3 stars This book took me way too long to read because I was way the fuck over it by the time I got halfway through it. Eva was very annoying for a lot of this book. Yes I understand why she has the insecurities she does. Yes she is proactive about therapy. But this was too much for me. My heart didn't break for her this time. How she handled anything in this entire book seriously annoyed me. If Gideon so much as turn his head an inch to the left or right it was all I'M JEALOUS. I CAN NOT. LOOK AT ME. ARE YOU FUCKING HER. I CANT DO THIS. COME BACK. I LOVE YOU. YOU HAVE TO SHARE SHIT WITH ME. I CAN'T DO THIS. I LOVE YOU. IM NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU. I NEED YOU. OH LOOK THERE'S MY EX IMMA MAKE OUT WITH HIM IN FRONT OF YOU. There was many pages of this. Gideon was the same as the previous book, really. Stopped going to therapy. Did sneaky shit and would just say TRUST ME. But then disappear. If I had any attraction to him it's gone now. It was a lot of the same. Just the same but also somehow worse. Also....the sex wasn't even sexy. It was this weird, desperate, clingy fucking. No fire. No nothing but two people so desperate to prove to each other that one loves the other that whenever they are remotely alone they try the hardest to fuck harder than the time before. ANYONE WANT TO GUESS AS TO WHAT THEIR THERAPIST SUGGESTED THEY SHOULD NOT DO FOR A BIT? The only thing that stopped me from giving this book 2 stars was the last few chapters.
