i just had a thought....as much as i love that clarke called bellamy for 2,199 days....imagine if t100 s4 had been the last season, and instead of bellamy being forced to leave clarke behind, he tells the others to go and stays behind with her, and we'd get a shortened version of everything that clarke (and eventually madi) went through, only bellamy is there too, and we'd get to see their first kiss, and small intimate moments of them through the years, and the series would end with everyone in the bunker coming back to the surface and raven and co returning to earth after the five years were up just like they'd planned, and they all reunite with bellarke and meet madi and and it's just a nice, good, wholesome, happy ending.

    Still, the roots he’s apparently grown within this chair have the man planted firmly against the too-comfortable cushion and he’s reminded by the soft pattering of feet drawing closer that is isn’t always up to him. Not anymore.

Madi and Bellamy are spiritually ralated

So... I think Madi and Bellamy are very much alike, especially in the sector of what they would do for Clarke.

This said I don't think they manipulated Madi into taking the flame (which I don't see as such a big deal to be honest, espacially if you can remove it ante mortem, hence they save the world then she abdicates and Dyoza is Queen)

They tell Madi it is her choice, Bellamy tells her Calrke does not approve of it. They tell her it is the last thing they can think of that would stop the war in time AND save Clarke (something very important to both of them).

Bellamy almost kills his OWN sister, someone he has vowed to protect above everyone else since forever, before putting Madi at risk. This is important. He put Clarke before his family

(there is a big problem here is a big lack of communication between everyone in this show)

I understand Clarke's betrayal feelings and all her I lost sight of my child in the mall behaviour, but she is not listening to Madi, or considering what she wants (she got the flame without the scary ancient conclave that all nighbloods fear when small)
