watching T2: Judgement Day (1991) and that scene where everybody is at Dyson's home has me considering things... y'know, where Arnold's T-800 slices the "organic tissue" to expose his metal endoskeleton and that upwards angle of the camera on Arnold's torso ALWAYS, without FAIL, shows just how jacked he is? and then i realize im 110% thirsty for a machine. 🥴
so anyways, what im tryna say... should i write a fic for him?

I’m glad you liked the character. There’s so many black ash about Connor and a Latina been the “main” character. I trust in your opinions about it. It’s hard for Natalia but I like her since she started in our country. I’m going with hope to see this movie. I don’t care that much over the franchise but is the first Colombian that got a role this big for a franchise like this; and I really hope people like it
Ugh, I know, the backlash has been so disappointing and frustrating. I can’t believe it’s still a thing at all, let alone this strong. It’s just not fair??? All these extra obstacles for certain people.
Same anon, later that day:
I love it! Dani and Grace are amazing. The action moments where nice(car factory fight); Diego Luna a great villain. Sara amazing as usual but Dani is the boss. You’re right I was gonna be proud
Yay! I loved the action scenes, Grace was just so awesome, but yes, Dani was the star. :) I can’t wait for the bluray, I have so much to rewatch.
Several asks with spoilers under the cut:
And another anon:
MORE TDF SPOILERS: I’m not sure we have to worry about Dani. Since, like you said, she knew adult Grace BEFORE young Grace, if she even has a small inkling towards liking women, I’m pretty sure her first thought (before knowing the backstory) wasn’t “OH LOOK A BABY I WANNA BE HER MOM”. Dani is all of us: her first thought was “HOLY SHIT SHE’S HOT”. The only mother-daughter dynamic I see is Sarah-Dani. Also I think Dani kind of “adopted” Grace in the future cause she was thankful of her sacrifice
(same anon). On another note, do you think Mackenzie is coming back if they do make related sequels? If so, how do you think they’re going to do it? I’m pretty sure one way to keep Grace alive would be to give her two cores instead of one, so that when she sacrifices herself she can “turn herself on” again. Even though the end hints at them wanting to stop it, I just wish they’d let JD happen, mostly because if they do stop Legion, then it’s just T2 all over again, with Dani instead of John.
Oh, for sure, when Dani first sees future-Grace in the present, all she’s seeing is a hot lady (incidentally some years older than her here) devoted to protecting her. But aside from this, in the future, she’d know Grace for some years when she’s an…older teen? It’s really easy to write around as a fic writer, but it is something to be aware of.
I honestly don’t know if we will get more sequels, the box office isn’t doing so hot. I basically want whatever Linda Hamilton wants, she is truly the person who I feel has the best idea of what’s good for this role, because it really is the story of Sarah Connor more than anything else. I don’t know if Mackenzie is willing to come back for it, it seems a punishing role and something more experimental for her than her than part of any particular ambition, but I’d definitely hope she does. If this becomes a new series, Grace is an integral part of it.
I get what you mean about the story repeating but I can’t imagine them not trying to stop something that catastrophic just because it’s inconvenient for the story, heh. The difference here might be that they don’t succeed? I mean, this was basically T1, so I don’t think they’re too afraid of repeating elements. It’s just going to be different because now it’s like they have two Sarahs and even Grace is going to be more helpful than the T-800 and well, it’s an entirely different time, in terms of tech. I’d also love to see it because it’s the US Border Patrol that took her pics and X-Rays, so there’s a possibility Judgment Day now basically stems from the US immigration policy and the fight will have to be against the US government. I kind of wish this movie took more of a stance, even though what it did was more than usual (which speaks to how terrible the “usual” is).
And another anon:
I was sad when they showed the truth about Dani/Grace. But I totally think that somehow Grace had a crush for Dani in the process. At least they weren’t related. And well both can kick ass and that’s enough for me
Heh, yeah, lol, us trying to figure out just how the dynamics could work–and they very much could. But it requires a bit more from us than, say, Deb/Lou in Ocean’s 8. If the epilogue is just a little bit after the events of the movie, then isn’t Dani like 7-10 years older than Grace? I can’t really tell how old either of them are, but Dani’s supposed to be like 18-20, right? And Grace looks like…I dunno, 10-12? I can’t judge ages at all. D: I don’t even know how old older Grace is supposed to be. It’s also worth pointing out that if the apocalypse IS stopped, resistance leader Dani will never have to “adopt” teen Grace.
And another anon:
How’d you square with Terminator: Dark Fate’s intentional downplaying of Dani and Grace’s relationship? Shipping aside bc that would have taken an actual miracle to happen, the final version of the film was edited and scene-swapped to airbrush their interactions, but for what reason if they weren’t going to go all the way with it anyway? I heard the future-Dani young-Grace scenes were shot afterwards, so no wonder it felt a little hamfisted (their whole “you raised me” deal, not Dani’s destiny)
I hadn’t heard anything about that future-Dani young-Grace scene but then it must have been replacing a different storyline, because they needed some kind of reveal for their future dynamic?
I didn’t like the downplaying at all! I can only imagine they thought even the non-canon subtext they had was too much already? Which is stupid and honestly, I think it was worse for the movie. They’re the core relationship of the movie, like Sarah-Reese, and those moments were supposed to be about Dani and Grace relating on a human level in the present, away from the future and their eventual roles in it, and they just...decided to remove them? I mean, what we had was still good because they’re both such fundamentally likable people and we did believe in their bond while, you know, fighting for their lives, but those moments (especially the shoulder touch??) could have added so much!

I fucking hated Terminator Dark Fate.
Let me start off by saying that the first two Terminator movies are pretty near and dear to my heart. I’ve watched the movies as a child with my brother and parents and have fond memories of it. It was kind of my first exposure to action and sci-fi, alongside Aliens and Star Wars. Didn’t really care for anything that came after because the end of T2:JD was one of the most perfect things ever. I hated that T3 basically went “Doesn’t matter what you do, you’re all going to die.” after T2 made sure to emphasize that the future is not written in stone and that you are free to make your own fate.
Now that that’s out of the way, I will say this again -- I am a trans-man of Chinese-American descent, so I am supposedly part of the target demographic for this new incarnation. I rarely talk about my gender, politics or sexuality on here because it’s basically the least interesting parts about myself. I talk about games, movies, comics and TV because those things are supposed to be fun.
So, why did I hate the new movie?
Forget about the stupid marketing, the whole “Misogynists are going to hate this!” virtue-signaling bullshit.
This is a spoiler and you won’t fucking care -- they kill off John Connor during the opening of the movie, so that they can replace him with a female version of the “savior” archetype.
Here’s the thing that always bugged me about this kind of pandering -- the assumption that I can’t get invested or identify with a character unless they’re the same race/sexuality/gender that I am. I am all for representation and it’s sorely needed but you don’t need to take established characters and either turn them female or kill them off so you can replace them with a female-stand in!
I identified with Edward Furlong’s John because he was a spunky loudmouth kid who didn’t know how to feel about his mother’s expectations of him.
I identified with Linda Hamilton’s Sarah Connor, a straight white female, because she was a normal person who had to step up and become a soldier so she could prevent the end of the world.
Fuck, I was even able to identify with the cybernetic death-machine played by an Austrian bodybuilder because it was a thing that was trying its best to be something that it was absolutely not built to be.
There’s a reason why a fucking 1-percenter straight white dude who likes to dress up in what is essentially a tactical gimp-outfit resonated with majority of audiences, regardless of race -- it’s because everyone knows the feeling of loss, of helplessness and the desire to punch clowns in the face.
They killed off John and it just absolutely felt empty and hollow -- like, it might as well have been captioned “We’re shaking things up and making a statement at the same time!”.
I mentioned Aliens earlier because I distinctly remember my dad warning me that Alien 3 might, in his words, “Kind of suck.” I watched it and sure enough, it sucked in the first few minutes because they fucking killed off Newt.
All that work, all that suffering, all that character development Ellen Ripley had to go through in the sequel was undone. She became a reluctant hero and gained a second chance to become a mother with Newt as her daughter and what the fuck does Alien 3 fucking do?
I’m freaking frustrated, man. I couldn’t get over it during the entire movie and that’s on me, I guess -- I was a fan of the first two films and was invested in the characters so killing the most important character of the franchise and then trying to get me to care about “Female Version But Better.” is just utter horseshit.

The year ended quietly, up in Whidbey Island with my family (minus, alas, my sister). It snowed on Christmas Eve, and we woke up to a white Christmas.
As I have done for the last two years I wrote down all of the books, shows, movies and TV I saw this year.
However, a lot of my writing this year was done by hand, and so even though I went back through my journals to record what I’d consumed, there are still gaps. So this list is imperfect.
But, as I’m learning, that’s ok.
Let’s start with books: 21 books this year. I tend to read a book every two weeks, so this keeps with that pace. Three of these were audiobooks that I listened to while traveling around the United States, and so I associate those books with a lot of visual memories.
I also read three classics this year, “The Sun Also Rises”, “Pride and Prejudice” and “Dune”, which was a lot of fun.
“The New Bohemians” has spurred my design for my apartment, “Will in the World” has stirred an interest in doing “Hamlet”, and “Untethered Soul” -- recommended by a coworker -- is a book I think everyone should read.
BOOK
Botany of Desire - Michael Pollan (1/9)
Future Sex - Emily Witt (1/22)
Otherwise Known As Sheila The Great - Judy Bloom (1/26)
The Name of the Wind - Patrick Rothfus (2/24)
Closer (play) - Patrick Marber (3/7)
The Sun Also Rises - Hemmingway (4/6)
The Wise Man's Fear - Patrick Rothfus (4/11)
A Man Without A Country - Kurt Vonnegut (4/20)
Some Girls - My Life In A Harem - Jillian Lauren (5/11)
Catching the Big Fish - David Lynch (5/22)
The Psychopath Test - Jon Ronson (7/9)
Hillbilly Elegy - JD Vance (audio) (8/15)
The Subtle Art of Not Giving A Fuck - Mark Manson (audio) (8/20)
Total Recall - Arnold Schwarzenneger (audio) (8/25)
The Untethered Soul  - Michael Singer(9/20)
Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen (9/30)
I Hope I Screw This Up - Kyle Cease (9/29)
Spoon River - Edgar Lee Masters (11/14)
Will in the World - How Shakespeare Became Shakespeare - Stephen Greenblatt (11/14)
The New Bohemians - Justina Blakeney (11/25)
Dune - Frank Herbert (12/28)

The picture above is of me and the rest of the students in the acting class I finished last December. Two years of driving to Santa Monica twice a week. The class started with forty(-ish) people and these are the six of us who made it to the end. I am so proud of myself and my classmates for finishing the program.
Here is the list of shows I saw this year, both concerts and plays. Seeing U2 perform the Joshua Tree album was jaw-dropping. Seeing Tony Bennet and then The Muppets (both at the Hollywood Bowl) was a joy.
I went to two major festivals -- FYF and Arroyo Seco -- this summer, and was lucky enough to see both Tom Petty and Charles Bradley before they passed.
SHOW
White Guy on a Bus (2/5)
Drunken Devil Bloody Gras (2/25)

The haunted house list is limited, as I have scaled down the immersive theater elements in my life, but I still love Halloween and cannot believe it has been five years of Urban Death: Tour of Terror. MAJOR props to both The Nest and Kaidan Project, which took the haunted house trope and brought it to levels I’d never seen before.
Also, this year I went to three branded haunted houses (IT, Horror Rewind and Lore), which shows me that there’s very much a corporate interest in this type of art, which makes me happy and makes me wary to see what comes next.

While on vacation in Mexico City I saw three movies, “Moonlight”, “Split”, and “T2 Trainspotting”, which was such a joy to simply BE in a foreign country, have leisure time, and see a movie every day if I wanted to. I loved that.
The experience I want to hold tight to is going to the Clyde Theater, the single-screen gem near where my parents and grandmother live, to see “Coco” with my brother and my grandma.

As always, TV consumption was my largest category. Most of these were watched inside of my apartment on my laptop. Amazon and Netflix make it easy to binge shows. A lot of these shows I simply loved -- The Tick, G.L.O.W., Kimmy Schmidt, Marvelous Mrs. Maizel, Big Little Lies. A few of these I didn’t (mostly Obama saying goodbye).
I notice that I am drawn to TV series with strong female leads and also late-night comedy that deals with today’s politics.

I’m a big fan of the terminator series, and I’ve read through some of your posts. You’ve mentioned a couple of times that T1, T2, and DF are “canon” and I was wondering if you could go into depth about that?
I'm sincerely sorry for missing this for like... ever. Sorry!
So "canon" is always subjective. What's considered gospel is always down to how you define it, but I generally defer to either whoever had the biggest part to play in creating or making something, or to what is current at time of writing, in the story universe, in the format of the original... depending on which has a stronger case at the time.
So what Chris Carter says is "true" to the world of the X Files is canon - what a spinoff novelisation has Mulder and Scully romp around doing is not, even if it's licensed.
It gets a bit trickier when you talk about something like Star Wars - George Lucas would historically have been the arbiter of ~Canon~, but no longer is. Star Wars is an ongoing movie universe now without his involvement. So, because the timeline is current and Lucas has bowed out, I consider the modern Star Wars movies to trump the older EU spin off content. They have the strongest claim to canon.
Canon is in some ways more fungible than usual when it comes to Terminator - it has multiple, mutually exclusive timelines branching out from T2, and the nature of the premise means something canon in one movie can be unravelled by the next even if they're in the same timeline. This is arguably even true in some ways of T1 and T2, which have contradictory concepts of time travel or where the future goes from here.
That said - let's start simple.
We can pretty much all agree T1 is, obviously, canon, because it's the first movie the rest all spring from.
T2 is canon, because James Cameron made it, and because *every* subsequent movie follows on from it as if it remains true. So there's no contest to it.
Dark Fate is a little less ironclad - but it still meets both the criteria I consider qualifying, easily.
Firstly, right now it's the "current" timeline - it's entirely possible it will be displaced by another movie in future, but right now it's the heir apparent. It overwrites all the previous movies since T2, and nothing has been handed the torch since.
Secondly, Cameron was heavily involved with it.
Technically, he produced the movie, and is credited as such - but James Cameron is a notorious control freak, and a James Cameron producer credit means something very different to what it seems to mean for most, as Robert Rodriguez can attest.
It's clear how involved in the conceptualisation he was in any of the press interviews he did -
youtube
In another interview I can't get to hand, he even went on to suggest he hoped to be more involved in any follow ups DF generated.
We know he had input to the script directly, having contributed set piece ideas to it - the first death we see (yes, that one), and the plane-to-dam stuff were his ideas - and even scenes (Sarah and Carl's confrontation) and was rewriting script pages up until shooting day, as has always been his habit.
We also know he also retained veto power - Tim Miller has mentioned a number of elements he would have done differently if not for being "overruled" by Cameron, including how the humans are faring in the war - and he was involved in edit suite decisions, much to Miller's frustration.
So we can say that, more than just giving it his seal of approval for the promo circuit (something he has, in fairness, done for previous post T2s), he was very actively involved in devising, making and steering the movie, had the final say over what ultimately went on to the screen, and even intended to tell stories continuing from the "facts" it established.
And on that point - in the Special Edition commentary for T2, Cameron makes it clear he actually considers the *Theatrical* cut of that movie canon, not any of the extended ones - which means that the chip removal scenes or Sarah's Kyle dream aren't considered gospel to the continuity. He considers these "might have been" scenes, referring to them as "donut holes", ie the fun little off-cuts of the real product.
Dark Fate takes his ruling on this as law - it adheres strictly to the "rules" of the Theatrical Cut, which is why we see a T800 capable of learning on its own. Per the Theatrical Cut, in canon, T800s can learn by themselves, so that's what Carl has done.
(And indeed, as brilliantly executed as the chip scene is, nixing it resolves an apparent contradiction in how the un-modded Phone Book Killer was already seen to learn independently in T1).
Now it is entirely possible Dark Fate will be overwritten in future - just as T3 or Genisys were - or that Cameron will withdraw the relay baton from Dark Fate and pass it elsewhere. But as it stands, at time of writing, I consider it pretty much as certified and canonical as it's possible to be. It's the current state-of-the-plot, jCam was all over it, it has the most direct continuity with T2, and it was the one Cameron hoped to run with.
So by my reckoning at least, that makes the official, canon, sealed by Word of God sequence of the Terminator story to be -
The Terminator -> Terminator 2: Judgment Day (Theatrical Cut) -> Terminator: Dark Fate
...at least for now.
I'm always open to argument otherwise though. :)

6O7O SOMALIA DXPEDITION NEWS (Update). Ken, LA7GIA, reports [edited]: “I will QRV from Somalia Sept. 14th to Sept. 28th on all bands 160-10m mainly on CW. Activity on other modes (SSB, FT8) will be limited and on 1-2 bands only. This trip has proved to be very difficult to plan, but finally after 3 site visits all details are sorted out. I have all permits in hand – and look forward to returning to Somalia after 18 months. I will particularly focus on working NA this time, as well low bands. I have some good vertical low band antennas, and some good RX antennas. The RX antennas will hopefully be located far away from noise sources. There will be a guard protecting the beverages 24/7. Please follow my instructions when it comes to calling for geographical areas. Because there is a very short opening to NA on low bands, in particular western part of NA. If there is propagation I will only call for NA when we approach my sunrise. EU will have the best conditions and shall try to work me during their evening time on low bands. Please carefully note the QSO and QSL policy mentioned on my Web page. Free&fast LoTW is only for the good first class operators who can follow the QSO policy and DX code of conduct. I have some additional security related expenses like armored car, armed guards etc. If you would like to contribute to protecting the low band antennas from being stolen, cut or moved – make a donation to PayPal ([email protected]). Anyone who donates in advance before the DXpedition end will receive direct QSL and express LoTW! This time I would also like to offer you the possibility to donate to a humanitarian fundraiser for the Norwegian organization Sabona who helps children in Africa. Please use the same PayPal address but indicate your call and that it is meant as humanitarian donation. Please look for more info on my Web page (https://www.la7gia.com/where-next/).” ADDED REMINDER: QSL via M0OXO. Logs will be uploaded to ClubLog. Also, make sure you read Ken’s “QSO & QSL Policy” on his Web page.
7A, INDONESIA. A team of YB operators will be active as 7A2A from a contest station in Central Java during the CQWW DX SSB Contest (October 26-27th) as a Multi-? entry. QSL via LoTW. No othe details were provided.
8A74, INDONESIA (Special Event). Members of the Organisasi Amatir Radio Indonesia (ORARI) will be active as 8A74RI/# (0-9, Provinces/Call Areas) between August 28th and September 1st. Activity is to celebrate the 74th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia. QSL via ORARI National QSL Bureau or LoTW.
C5, THE GAMBIA. Don, G3XTT, will once again be active as C56DF from The Gambia, but this time in CQWW DX CW Contest (November 23-24th). Look for operation before and maybe after the contest. Activity will be on various bands, probably all CW like last time using low power (IC-7300 and wires) from a rooftop apartment. He will, of course, upload logs to LoTW and ClubLog, but possibly only after his return to the UK. QSL direct to Don’s home callsign or via ClubLog’s OQRS.
D4, CAPE VERDE (Update/Satellite Op). Harald, DF2WO, will once again be active as D44TWO from Praia, Santiago Island (AF-005), between September 29th and October 13th. Activity will be holiday style on 160-10 meters using CW, SSB and the Digital modes. He states that he works mostly on the Digital modes (FT8, PSK31, JT65 and RTTY) and slow CW. It was reported this past week that “he has been working hard in the last few months getting his Satellite station working and is now confident he will use it from Cabo Verde. He will be using an Icom 7300, 2 Transverters with 3 watts output on ES-Hail using the QO-100 Geostationary Satellite.” He will also have a FT-450D into a homemade HEX BEAM and a dipole for 40 meters. QSL via M0OXO (OQRS available).
DXCC, VUCC, & ARRL CONTESTS (Now Prohibit Automated Contacts!). From the ARRL Web page: Following the direction of the ARRL Board of Directors, ARRL has incorporated changes to the rules for all ARRL-sponsored contests and DXCC, prohibiting automated contacts. These changes also apply to the Worked All States (including Triple Play and 5-Band WAS), VHF/UHF Century Club, and Fred Fish, W5FF, Memorial awards. The changes are effective immediately. A resolution at the July ARRL Board of Directors meeting pointed to “growing concern over fully automated contacts being made and claimed” for contest and DXCC credit. The rules now require that each claimed contact include contemporaneous direct initiation by the operator on both sides of the contact. Initiation of a contact may be either local or remote. FK, NEW CALEDONIA. Jan, F6EYB, will once again be active as FK8CJ from Noumea, New Caledonia (OC-032), starting August 29th, until the end of the year. Activity will be on various HF bands (mainly 30/20/17 meters). QSL via F6EYB, LoTW or eQSL.
FS, ST. MARTIN. Doug, VA3DF, will be active as FS/VA3DF from St. Martin (NA-105) during the CQWW DX CW Contest (November 23-24th) as a Single-Op/ Single-Band (40 or 20m) entry. He will use a CrankIR and 100 watts. QSL via LoTW.
FT8 OPERATING SUGGESTIONS. Dean, 8P6SH/8P2K, has recently been very active on FT8 from St.Philip, and states, “Its been very interesting but also somewhat frustrating. I thought I would share a few thoughts on working DX from a DX perspective. After working quite a few stations on FT8 over the past couple months, I thought I would share a few thoughts on working DX on HF: 1. When you’re calling a DX station on HF is the grid that important? Many times it’s not a bad idea to go with “XX0DX W1ZZ 01” This is especially important when signal levels are low – -20db and below. The grid information is generally redundant and will be confirmed on LoTW anyway. In the typical ‘pile-up’ that I get on the band, I try to work the stations that send a signal report first as these QSOs are shorter.
2. Do not call a DX station on its transmit frequency. Often I have 4 or 5 DX stations all calling on the same frequency and then, even with perfect conditions I’m sending repeat after repeat and seemingly getting nowhere. Find a clear frequency and call.
3. Know when you can log the station. Many times I am working a station and I have gotten a “RRR” or “RR73” from the other station. I either send a CQ or work the next station, only to get the station who had sent a confirmation sending a grid or report to initiate a QSO. I believe this is because I have not sent a “73” message. Those of us who have worked other modes for years know that “73” is optional. Please log the station once you have sent a report, received a report and received some kind of confirmation. That final “73” is ok, but usually from a DX station working through a list of 6 stations it is very much optional.
4. Hope these pointers are taken in the spirit they are given – to help you get into the log quicker! THANKS.”

HPM CELEBRATION. Just reminder that the Hiram Percy Maxim Birthday Cele- bration gets under way on Saturday, August 31st, and wraps up on Monday, September 8th. The 9-day operating event commemorates the 150th anni- versary of the birth of ARRL co-founder and first president Hiram Percy Maxim, W1AW (HPM) — born on September 2, 1869 — and is open to all radio amateurs. The objective is to work as many participating stations as possible. W1AW and all ARRL members will append “/150” to their callsigns during this event (DX operators who are ARRL members may operate as <call- sign>/150, if permitted by their country of license). NCDXF PRESS RELEASE (NCDXF Issues grants to two upcoming DXpeditions). [Dated August 23rd, edited] — The Northern California DX Foundation (NCDXF) is pleased to announce grants issued to two Pacific DXpedition teams for Summer 2019.
1. The 2019 Western Kiribati (T30L) and Nauru (C21W) DXpeditions slated for September have been granted $5,000 from NCDXF. Team Leader Yuris, YL2GM, has assembled another high-energy team to activate these two islands in an exciting back-to-back operation in September. One of the operators is Kristers, YL3JA, a 21-year old first-timer and future WRTC 2022 hopeful.
2. The upcoming ZK3A DXpedition slated for October 2019 has been issued a $4,000 from NCDXF using a new grant matching program. To encourage more European club participation in early funding raising efforts for DXpedition teams, NCDXF pledged $2,000 up-front to the ZK3A DXpedition team and also offered to “match” up to an additional $2,000 in pre-trip funded grants obtained from any EU DX Clubs or Foundations. We are happy to report that this new grant-matching plan worked well as the ZK3A team has received an additional $2,000 from European Clubs and Foundations in vital up-front funding.
During the last 46 years, NCDXF has granted over $1 million to hundreds of DXpeditions – helping to put an “all-time-new-one” (ATNO) in the log and make DX happen for thousands of DXers worldwide. DXpeditions to rare entities are becoming more expensive, a trend that will continue. If you agree with the importance of NCDXF’s work, please visit our website at NCDXF.ORG to study our history and to consider providing your support.

Severe damage was suffered by resi- dential, administration buildings as well as to the school and fish pro- cessing factory. Thankfully nobody was injured, but life on the island has been severely affected and work is in progress to repair the build- ings. Materials for this task are on their way from South Africa on the MV Edinburgh, the same boat that took me to the island last year for my ZD9CW operation, a rough journey of seven days. Perhaps DXers would con- sider making a donation to help with the daunting task of restoring Tristan to some sort of normality.” For more details and on how you can help, see: https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/tristanemergencyfund

We are wrapping things up in Kentucky tonight on Top Chef Kentucky 2019, which also means the winner of Last Chance Kitchen will be revealed to the remaining contestants! From there, the cheftestants are going to an auction to buy the food they will be cooking with tonight on Top Chef Season 16! Check out some Week 12 sneak photos below in our Top Chef Kentucky 2019 spoilers!
Last week on Top Chef 2019, the chefs took part in a fried chicken challenge, but they could only use spices they identified correctly while blindfolded! Sara got the most spices (12) correct and she also got the winning dish, which was her first individual win of the season. From there, they cooked at a charity event for Muhammad Ali and used one of his prize fights as inspiration for their dishes. The judges loved all the dishes, so they were being extra nitpicky on things. In the end, Eddie was eliminated for giving a dish that was good, but disconnected.
For Week 12 on Top Chef Season 16, here is the official synopsis from Bravo:
“All season the chefs have been growing gardens at their Kentucky estate. Tom ambushes the sleeping chefs and challenges them to reap what they sowed and make a dish focused on their garden harvest. Then, for the last elimination challenge in Kentucky, the chefs head to Keeneland, a thoroughbred horse auction house, to bid on luxury ingredients for dishes to show gratitude to their culinary mentors. Chefs Bryan Voltaggio, Gavin Kaysen, JD Fratzke, Kim Alter, David Posey and Chris Coombs join the judges to see how far the Chefs have come and who deserves to go to Macau for the finals.”
The big takeaway from the sneak peek photos below: we know the winner of Last Chance Kitchen, which Bravo doesn’t normally share before the episode! We see Michelle is back in the action, so she has to be the winner, right? Check out a sneak peek here:
