#tHE TRIALS OF ONE NITRAM

What if you tossed all the Sburb players we've seen so far (with their powers, but somehow reworked to fit with the Locked Tomb's necromancy stuff) into Canaan House? (My pairings for this would be, in the form of necromancer"mage"/cavalier, Aradia and Sollux, Karkat and Terezi, Rose and Kanaya, John and Dave, Vriska and Tavros, Feferi and Eridan, Equius and Nepeta, and by elimination Jade and Gamzee. Make your own if you want, or throw out the whole system.) What would happen? Who would die? Would anybody achieve Lyctordom?

Oh, I like this one.

[Locked Tomb spoilers abound below. You have been warned.]

I’m mostly keeping your pairings, because I like them. A lot of Homestuck’s powers would break the setting of The Locked Tomb, so let’s just assume the necromancers have the typical abilities of their House, and that the cavaliers don’t have powers. Let’s also assume that the Seventh House is still being impersonated by a Lyctor.

Second House: Captain Karkat Vantas & Lieutenant Terezi Pyrope

A very well-balanced duo. I suspect Karkat would be a half-decent necromancer if if wasn’t for his self-doubt, and Cohort training would replace doubt with cold duty. His magic is particularly destructive, and causes enormous collateral. Bucking tradition, his cav is effectively the leader, as she’s the superior strategist by far.

Endgame: They get pretty far – but when push comes to shove, Karkat would rather die than kill his closest friend, even though she thinks it would be funny. They refuse Lyctorhood, and are murdered by the Seventh.

Third House: Crown Princess Vriska Serket & Prince Tavros Nitram

Vriska embodies the best and worst of both Tridentarii. She’s ruthless, she’s quick-witted, she demands your attention, and she’s not above taking shortcuts. Her cavalier is a lot nicer than the canon one, but just as unlucky.

Endgame: You already know Tavros is ending this story the same way Naberius did. Full Lyctorhood, and the birth of the most dangerous necrosaint the Houses have ever seen.

Fourth House: Baron John Egbert & Sir Dave Strider

These goobers are too nice for the story they’re in. John is enthusiastic, and Dave is dutiful, but they lack the aptitudes required to obtain any keys. If it came to it, Dave is probably the most likely cavalier to pull a Gideon, especially given the Fourth’s tradition of self-sacrifice. John doesn’t have Harrow’s resourcefulness, though, and wouldn’t be able to preserve Dave’s soul.

Endgame: Murdered by the Seventh.

Fifth House: Lady Aradia Megido & Sir Sollux Captor

They’d honestly crush it. Aradia is a born Fifth House spirit talker, and the only Homestuck character to actually be a necromancer. Sollux isn’t a physical fighter, but he declares a laser pistol as his offhand, and no one wants to argue with the creepy scion of the Fifth, so a laser pistol it stays. Since Aradia isn’t a historian, they’re not targeted by the Seventh House Lyctor, and manage to complete most of the theorem rooms before shit hits the fan.

Endgame: Partial Lyctorhood. Aradia eats half of Sollux’s soul, he keeps the other half.

Sixth House: Master Warden Rose Lalonde & Kanaya Maryam

Now we’re talking! A Rose trained on the Sixth would give Palamedes a run for his money, and her partnership with Kanaya would be second to none. Let’s say she still has a romantic history with the Seventh House scion (Feferi, in this case) but is no longer in love with her, having got over her when she and Kanaya became a couple. Palamedes delayed his confrontation with ‘Dulcinea’ due to his feelings, and Rose would confront Feferi much earlier.

Endgame: Can a learned witch of the Sixth defeat an ancient saint of the Seventh? Maybe, if she plays it smart, and makes the right alliances. Write it yourself – I’ve got a liveblog to finish!

Seventh House: Duchess Feferi Pexies & Eridan Ampora

D------EAD before the trials began, Feferi is being impersonated by a sea-dweller Lyctor whose motivations I can’t dig into too much, or I’ll actually start to write this fanfic. Let’s just say she has similar goals to Cytherea, and leave it at that.

Eighth House: Master Templar Equius Zahhak and Nepeta Lejion

Come on, Equius, Your god commands you. Commit the cardinal sin. Become a saint. You’re not going to disobey the emperor, are you?

Endgame: I have just enough respect for Equius that I don’t think he’d kill Nepeta, even if ordered to. They probably go out fighting, before the final confrontation.

Ninth House: Reverend Daughter Jade Harley & Gamzee Makara

Gamzee’s useless, but at least he pulls off the facepaint. Jade’s not going to get much use out of him, unless she’s willing to siphon – as a highblood, he’s probably got a pretty strong constitution. Anyway, Jade’s wolf skeleton constructs are impressive, but she’ll be more or less attempting the trials alone, and that’s a tall order.

Endgame: Not nearly as important as in canon, the Ninth House might survive for a while by not really being a threat to anyone. Jade’s likely to befriend the Second and the Fourth, and go out in a blaze of glory avenging their deaths.

1. Blake Belladonna from RWBY. Her fighting skills, her semblance, how she tries to solve issues, it’s something I really respect because her being a faunus it’s like kinda making it difficult, she has stuff to deal with The White Fang and that means facing someone she fears and that’s takes a lot of strength to do. Carrying that weight over her shoulders is not an easy task at all and I hope the team(s) can get to help her soon enough. 

2. Makoto Naegi from Danganronpa. His thought process, how he can handle the class trials and find the incoherent things in arguments and situations is what makes him my favorite character. Not a lot of characters have a sharp eye nor mind to think these through.

3. Yang Fang Leiden from Final Fantasy IV. Probably most of my friends would be like “yo what I thought Rydia and Edge were your favs!” Well yes they are, but they can’t be compared to the honorable and powerful monk from Fabul. What he did, and the friendship he formed with everyone else was just excellent, he has all of my respect.

4. Shino Asada/Sinon from Sword Art Online. In my eyes, she’s kinda different from the other female characters of SAO: another solo player who can survive the dangers of a world like GGO and her story around all of it... Just wow.

5. Ellie from The Last of Us. Not only because she seems strong enough to handle everything that has happened, but because she is a helpful character along the way, she makes Joel think again about his past. That changes all perspectives!

6. Aiden from Beyond Two Souls (If he counts? Lol idk) Being able to help Jodie and know their story together it’s just what makes me like Aiden because he’s there for here in bad, in good and silly moments. I’d have loved them to get things sorted out before the ending ;w;

7. Irisa Nyira from Defiance. A lone wolf trying to find out who she is… She’s stubborn yet careful when it comes to do her own stuff. Well, still careless about some things but she handles it very well and alive in the end, even though it means overthinking later about what she did.

8. Mine from Akame Ga Kill. One of the few whose skills were great. I love her calm yet funny attitude, strategic and how she can control her feelings to give Pumpkin its power- holy crap, dude.

9. Elena Fisher from Uncharted. She knows where she’s standing, she doesn’t fear getting Nate back to his feet and even then, she still has a heart of gold for him. Holy crap, how not to?

10. Wes Gibbins from How to get away with murder. He didn’t deserve anything but happiness, okay? ;n; He might not be the righteous character of all but he was kind enough to find ways to solve what all the group did, not in the better ways possible but still. Another lone wolf trying to find who he was *sobs*

So I did a pendulum reading with Jade the same day I did the Eridan Captor memory walk and double-checked some things. 

 -I checked about my Lars kin and got an affirmative. 

 -I asked about my Karkat Nitram timeline and got an affirmative. 

-Asked if I had a bloodswapped Summoner timeline - specifically if I was a Makara Summoner. Got an affirmative there. (I’d had a dream where I was a purpleblood rufioh/summoner so I had suspicions)

 -I decided to focus on asking questions about the Eridan Captor memories since they were fresh on my mind. 

 I asked about Feferi Pyrope, if she'd been blinded, if I'd done it, if it was an accident and if I did it using my psionic powers - got strong affirmatives on all of them. 

 I asked about the indigo text - I confirmed they were the Zahhak, and that it was Gamzee. 

 I decided to look into the anxiety i felt. I asked if I was scared of Gam in general, and if it was something he did. The answers were yes I was scared of him, because of something specifically he once did to me. I wasn't sure what this meant, and wasn’t sure I was ready to know, so i left it. I asked if I'd actually had a favor to ask of him and evidently I did. Which honestly piques my interest - what favor did I have to ask of him if he scared me so much? I guess I’ll have to find out.

I decided to move on to solve some game-related things. I asked if I was a Prospit dreamer, given that’s what I saw in the memory walk and it just felt right? and I got a confirmation there. I asked if I had two dreamselves, since sollux in canon did, but got a no (which felt right tbh). 

I decided to finally end the confusion on godtiers once and for all. After writing up all the classes and aspects, I decided to go through the list as a trial-and-error sort of thing until I found the right one. I asked if I was doom aspect first, because it just felt right. Got an affirmative for it. Moving on, I tried asking for various classes- I started asking about longsleeved classes because I had thought I saw I was wearing sleeves. But when that wasn’t working, I decided to start from the top of likely suspects and asked if I was a Prince class, got an affirmative then too. Which meant I was a Prince of Doom. I had godtiered as well, which was good to know.

I also decided to try to decode who the purple individual being flung by the Black King was - I was mistaken entirely in that it was NOT the Ampora, nor was it any of the girls (I had assumed for a while that it was Nepeta or Terezi based on the silhouette for some reason). Turns out it was Sollux Makara. 

I’ve struggled with telling the two purples apart a lot in this tl for some reason, but I think? the reason I thought it was Ampora is it turns out Sol was a Rage aspect player. So I think whatever he was wearing was more violet-purple than the blue-purple of Makaras. I asked about his classpect and got a yes on him being a mage of rage (jealous of that title though), but since it wasn’t me it wasn’t as strong a yes as others I’ve gotten. I think I got a confirmation on him godtiering as well.

Based on this, I’m suspecting the godtiering pattern is class = same as core character’s canon counterpart (Eridans as princes, Solluxes as mages), aspect = follows the last name/hemospectrum counterpart (makaras and rage, captors and doom). This definitely feels right to me for Gamzee Zahhak, who’d be a Bard of Void (he felt very voidy). Feferi Pyrope would be a Witch of Mind, also fitting. Karkat Maryam would be a knight of space, but that’s the only one that feels a little off to me. It could just be that he never godtiered though so I’m not sure.

I had tried to ask a few other things but I was dwindling energywise so the answers weren’t easy for me to understand.
