This is the first detailed picture we've released of our new holster we're developing with Redback One! It's a heavy duty combat/duty holster that fits common handgun configurations with or without reddot optics. We designed it to fit all of the practical combat reddots including the Aimpoint T1 (pictured). It's durability rivals that of other commercial duty holsters since we build it with two layers of 0.093 kydex. We also developed a swivel leg strap hanger to keep the holster secured to your body better, but the strap has full freedom to move as you crouch or sit in vehicles. Jason Falla and I developed this strap system to solve many of the problems traditional dropleg holsters have. We're hoping to release this holster system sometime next month, but it will only be available for Glocks until we can test other systems. The swivel leg strap will be available for all Ragnarok holsters. Notice how well my wolf grey OWB holster blends with my work jeans, and my handgun grip blends nicely with my hoodie? If I were to open carry in public right now for some reason, many people wouldn't even notice I'm packing. Many people still believe holsters should be black. Mostly because just about all commercial holsters are still made in black. I still have no idea why this is. Grey would be WAY better. There's really no advantage of carrying with a black holster, unless of course, you're wearing a tuxedo. Choosing a subtle color like greys, browns, and tans can aid you in conceal/open carrying. It's all about being low profile and blending in. I like wearing jackets and coats with this rig. If my coat were to blow open revealing my handgun, my holster will be far less noticeable if it matches what I'm wearing. It's little things like this that can make carrying a firearm more effective and less noticeable. This stage required either good memory, or good situational awareness... I decided to go with my situational awareness since it always needs more work. I believe competition shooting is a great way to keep your mind exercised in the memory and situational awareness department. I noticed during this past match, I didn't forget a single target. I used to forget targets all the time, but I've noticed it's easier to remember things the more I shoot in competition. And that includes everyday things too. What materials I need to order for holster making, which calibers of ammo I'm running low on, who I need to call on the phone, which contractor needs certain training, or who needs an email reply (still working on that though). So if you like the idea of keepIng your brain exercised, I recommend competition shooting. Particularly USPSA or three gun. And I've learned that the more stuff I can remember, the more stress-free my life is.
