i think marinette's neurodivergency is the kind of neurodivergency where everyone's like 'no, yeah, she totally has adhd.' but adrien has spent so much of his life masking that even he doesn't even realise that maybe there's something goin on in his noggin.

but YEARS after they start dating, when theyre like 18/19 and have first moved in together, marinette notices that adrien has a tendency to just... sporadically info dump. just very random chunks of information on things with absolutely no preamble nor explanation of context afterwards.

one night at like, 2am, marinette's just about to drift off to sleep when adrien's like, "are you awake?" thinking he had a nightmare she's like yes of course chaton what's on your mind? he's quiet for a moment before, in a single stream of speech, says "did you know in england they found this man called the cheddar man in cheddar cave? they made this 3d bust of him and it showed that he had dark skin and blue eyes. and apparently this was actually a super common thing because as a species we started off as dark skinned and white skin was actually a genetic mutation that just persisted in the north because we didn't need the UV protection from melanin. and since there were literally thousands of years before we actually got distinct ethnic phenotypes, does that mean in a thousand years the phenotypes will be even more different? what if people develop purple eyes? or blue skin, like avatars? like how do we know that won't happen? and if it did happen how would makeup brands know when to start introducing new foundation shades? at what point will the population have to grow for mac to release, like, a purple concealer line?"

marinette just looks at him and says "do you want to try my adderall tomorrow?"

marinette is such an aggressive sleeper. like she turns over in bed and it has the headboard slamming against the wall. she will grab her plushie and clench it to her chest. adrien, the poor light sleeper, is constantly fighting for his life. the first time they share a bed together she so fiercely slams herself into his back for a cuddle that he actually wakes her up with how loud he yells

he tries to tell her about it but she STEADFASTLY doesn't believe him. alya also won't corroborate because she literally has three siblings so anytime they've shared a bed she is completely dead to her somno-violence

adrien gets really into coding one day because it's the first thing he's ever taught himself without having the expectation of necessarily Doing Well. he uses w3schools or something and when the very first exercise asks him to practice the difference between <h1> <h2> <p>, and font families, naturally the text he chooses to experiment with is 'I love Marinette'.

the thing is, this sticks. all the way through the more advanced lessons. and he doesn't really notice it because he works with it every single day until one day marinette is using his laptop for something and stumbles upon a professional level webpage with five different tabs and animated scrollbars and photo galleries of her face and it's all under the heading 'I love Marinette'.

YES marinette wears adrien's shirts but consider: adrien wears marinette's hoodies. marinette is 100% the type to wear XXXXXL hoodies whenever she's chilling and adrien is obsessed with them. they're handmade so they're extra cosy!! marinette starts embroidering her hoodies with both her name AND adrien's name so they can be personalised for whoever is wearing them 🥺

whenever adrien gets sad, he writes random letters to ladybug that he knows he's never going to send her. he just likes the feeling of being able to talk to her about things, about his father, about his mother, about modelling, about his self esteem, and since he'd never have the bravery to reach for that comfort in person, writing it on paper is the next best thing. they become almost like a diary over the years.

flash forward to when they're older, post reveal, and getting ready to move in together. marinette is sorting through some boxes and finds a bundle of pages addressed to ladybug. at first she thinks its fanmail she forgot about, but as she begins to read she realises just how much her chaton had gone through all on his own, just how much he wanted her to be there for him but didn't know how to ask.

he doesn't mention it to adrien afterwards. but she cuddles him noticeably tighter that night when they go to bed.

post kwami's choice marinette couldn't POSSIBLY be THAT normal about chat noir so quickly SURELY. bc i cant stop imagining adrien sitting next to his girlfriend on the bench at school while she sketches on her iPad -- STILL having not managed to even hold her hand yet -- and just as he's about to compliment how cute the little cat she just drew is she accidentally minimises the canvas and an entire gallery of self insert art of her kissing chat noir on the mouth pop up and she SHRIEKS.

platonic roommates adrienette and marinette is DETERMINED to be So Normal while they live together but on their first night in their new apartment adrien walks into the kitchen at 1am to see marinette gnawing on a mango seed

marinette watches youtube videos on stick and poke tattoos and is obsessed with them. she's too scared to do one on herself though. so she tries convincing adrien to be her guinea pig and just before the needle touches him he starts crying. they never talk about this again

adrien actually tried giving himself a stick and poke tattoo to try proving to marinette he was not a wimp. he did one singular dot before he started crying so he filled the rest in with sharpie and showed it off to her at school the next day

at the start of their relationship i bet adrien doesnt realise he can Openly Ask For Affection so he finds every excuse to be close to her while trying to be 'subtle' (he isnt subtle at all). he'll tell marinette she has ice cream on her lip to wipe it off for her, or will tell her that her hair is caught on her earring to gently brush his fingers against her neck🥺🥺

obviously this hesitation very quickly goes down the drain because marinette is so cuddly and has very few qualms about affection (i feel like adrien would always feel nervous about asking for closeness from another person considering how he's constantly shut down by his father whenever he tries with him shdjs) and so adrien ends up ALSO becoming the cuddliest bf ever 🥺🥺🥺 giving her forehead kisses and holding her close to him while they stand together and whenever they approach one another at school or something he immediately puts his hands around her waist to hug her while they talk🥺🥺🥺

marinette coaxing adrien into letting her give him affection 🥺 i feel like he'd feel kinda embarrassed asking for it himself because he hardly got any from his family so he always feels more comfortable being the one giving the affection rather than receiving it but marinette is like No i want to Kiss Your Forehead COME HERE

they'll be watching a movie together and adrien will start getting sleepy so marinette pulls him so his head is on her chest while they watch🥺 and she runs her fingers through his hair and traces his hair line beneath his fringe. or when theyre sitting on the floor together and doing something and adrien leans against her marinette will shift and pull him down so he has his head in her lap🥺

or whenever she can actually reach (like if he's sitting down and she's standing up or theyre cuddling) she loves kissing his forehead🥺🥺🥺

or theyll hold hands while they study or something and marinette will just absentmindedly kiss his hand every now and then
