dropping her umbrella, she bristles and immediately knows he is trying to spite her. he knows that she is unsettled whenever he is overly-affectionate with her, and the jerk knows how to annoy her with this knowledge. he's such a pain. an unbearable pain. ( she is still trying to get used to it. after all, she is not used to loving gestures that are not brotherly. )

edna is hitting his arms with her fists, trying to free herself—but again, this stupid jerk is amazing at his job of being annoying. it makes her deeply regret that impulsive urge to decorate her hair today with those ednae flowers some humans offered at the shrine. she wanted to touch up her hair differently for once, and they're her favorite flowers, and she had mentioned it to him once, and he just said that they smell the best on her—

❛  you're being super gross right now, meebo!  ❜ she complains, grimacing at the stupid skips of her heartbeats. this is so not fair. not fair at all. he must be lying. that must be it: she's onto him! his comment about ednae flowers not looking 'thorny' and 'poisonous' like her still makes her feel resentful. it used to be so ridiculously easy for her to get a rise out of him! she never asked for a change of roles! really, his audacity!

! Pride Month Challenge 2024 !

Well hi there, everyone! With May winding down to a close and June just around the corner, it's about that time again...the time where @jadedsunshine, @unicornaffair, and I host our yearly create-a-thon! 🥳

What's the Pride Month Challenge, you might find yourself asking? Well, this year it's a little bingo game we've put together, featuring some classic tropes. The aim of this particular game? Make something!!! Anything! Just get those creative juices a-flowin' and see if you can snag a B-I-N-G-O along the way!

This challenge is open to everyone and anyone who wants to take part, whether you know the three of us or not! We're going to be using the tag #pridemonthchallenge2024 for the stuff we create, so if you decide to join in on the fun and games, feel free to stick that tag on whatever you make, too! I don't write fic - can I still participate?

Ab. So. Lutely!!! We've done this challenge for a few years now (we've missed a year or two for weddings and other life stuff, whoops!), but in the past we've had people doodle, sketch, draw, make edits, create props or other physical art, and even curate playlists! The three of us are writers, so you're very likely to see fic or ficlets from us...but you? Oh. Oh, you can do whatever your heart desires!!!

Are there word limits/expectations for a finished product?

NO!!! :D Zero. Literally zero expectations. We aren't putting together an exchange, we aren't holding a competition, we're just trying to get the spirit of creation in the air. That's it! So whether you're writing 50 words or 5,000, whether you've made a rough sketch on a notebook page or fully lined/colored a scene, you're good! You're so good. As long as you've made something, you've earned a stamp on that bingo card, baby!!!

What if I don't want to do something fandom-y? Can it be OCs/original work?

OF COURSE!!! 100%. You don't even have to ask!!! Show the world your OCs! Tell the world about your story's worldbuilding! It's all fair game :)

What if I don't want to post what I made?

Don't sweat it! Again, this is...the farthest thing from official. This is for fun, and this is for the sake of making something. Sharing your work can be nerve-wracking - don't feel like you have to! We'd love to see you playing along with us, of course, but as long as you've made something that you're proud of, you've earned that stamp! No ifs, ands, or buts!

Is it cool if my creations aren't necessarily pride-themed?

Totally! We host this challenge during pride month because (1) it traditionally works better for the three of us than NaNoWriMo because of our schedules, and (2) we're queer creators ourselves! But if you're feeling a prompt and can't find a way to make it relevant to pride, PLEASE don't sweat it! As I've been known to say (and then get laughed at for saying), this challenge is no rules, just right, Outback Steakhouse :P

The bingo board itself is really more for bragging rights ;)c Which, of course, we encourage wholeheartedly. Nothing wrong with a little bragging!!!

Today has been raining A LOT which I find it oddly appropriate, since the moody sad weather fits perfectly. Tonight we're having a special dinner and watching Prince of Egypt, which I'm very excited for. It's kind of a long time family tradition of ours (although I am always down to watch it any time of the year). This whole weekend, in fact, we're celebrating Easter with the family 💙

going to bed recently sucks cause the pattern of my days for the past five straight days (and even before that, just not in a continuous streak) has been:

wake up until about noon: feel like Absolute Shit. Corpse mode

noon or 1pm to 4pm: decent but not great. tired from feeling like Absolute Shit but feeling less Corpse-y.

about 4:30 pm until i go to bed: still tired (always tired) but wow my body feels so much better than this morning!!!

I am happy to enjoy the visuals of Mando s3, some of the moments, LIZZO AND JACK BLACK MY BELOVED, but all in all, this season is really just a strange AU in my mind.

I'm not mad about Din not being Mand'alor. I'm frustrated that something that was set up to be a Problem was completely forgotten about and then so easily fixed. I'm frustrated that he appeared to be going through some contemplation on what the Creed means to him, just to have it all ignored and Speedrun to a bath in the mines.

I love Katee Sackhoff and she's doing a fantastic job. I'm frustrated by how the scripts are ignoring the fact that she was part of a literal terrorist group who got her sister murdered and her planet obliterated at least twice, and the show is ignoring that fact. She's had opportunities to talk about it, other characters have had opportunities to bring it up, and favloni seems to just be ignoring/reconning it. Why make all these references to a messy part of TCW/Rebels if you're not going to actually address the whole topic?

I am fine with the show being about more than just Din, or transitioning away from him as Pedro becomes increasingly busy with other projects. What I'm not fine with is the bait and switch, and telling us MID SEASON that "oh it's not about Din anymore" without a satisfactory conclusion to his arc.

This show worked because it was about Din who was just Some Guy who got attached to this kid who he was supposed to turn in for money, and how that relationship changes him. Abandoning that is a huge mistake and I think we are all learning that the hard way.

i'm reading fire & blood, (specifically the dying of the dragons), and my thoughts so far are:

the show really did a disservice to daemon at almost every opportunity, (weirdly enough)

and way too many people cite mushroom's account of events which are almost all fabricated, barring where his story coincides with other sources (or perhaps offers emotional insight into the characters, as opposed to the historical version of events)
