I really don’t do things traditionally so my BFF happens to be a lesbian, keep in mind she’s sort of a lipstick lesbian (so no vests, boy hair, Doc Martens, fanny packs, motorcycle boots, she doesn't drive a Subaru Outback, wear wrist cuffs, or Tevas ...although she does have cats...

Now please don't get me wrong: I love gay dudes, they're totally awesome, I just think my BFF is way better than yours.

1. You don’t have to compete with them for cute dudes. Nothing is worse than fighting over a cute boy with a gay man (they say really dirty things!!)

2. They make really funny faces when you mention anything about a penis.

3. They will actually have your back if you get into a fight.

4. You can paint your nails together & it’s not weird. (Guy hands just aren't made for polish...they're just not!)

5. People don’t think you’re a couple.

6. You'll never have to worry about them checking out your boyfriend. (I have these problems with girls checking out my boyfriend, but only because he's like mind blowingly smokin' hot 😜)

7. They get into the most interesting spats with their girlfriends.

8. don’t judge you when you cover yourself in glitter. (well, they might, my lesbian BFF just might be special.)

9. They don’t talk like gay guys. (Why the lisp? Like really bro?)

10. They have periods & will listen to you bitch about how sucky your uterus is.

11. They'll have debates on Donna vs Amy - which, by the way; Donna is vastly Superior, but Amy is much hotter. (Shut up! I think ginger girls with accents are so adorable!)

12. They'll concur with you when you suggest wine & chocolate for dinner because your fucking retarded periods are super creepy & synced up.

13. They point out other lesbians & judge them - it is hilarious.

14. They have insight on all the best vibrators & they have a girlfriend with an interesting second opinion.

15. When you're trying on clothes everything isn't "FABULOUS!!!"
