Now, if I’m being honest, last year felt a little lackluster when it came to music in anime, but that’s just me. But some amazing songs managed to deliver and catch my attention! I’m here to share them with you! Note though: I haven’t seen many of these anime series, but I’ll put a little *** next to the songs when that’s the case!

I’ve heard of RWBY, but I have yet to watch it. I’ve known of Void_Chords though and I had to check this out and yes, I love it. The vocals are incredible on this one and the vibe is so hype!

As you all know, I didn’t watch this installment of Code Geass, but music is banging, both for opening and ending. What I love about this song in particular are the vocals and the buildup in the chorus. Amazing, chef’s kiss.

Deep Down by Aimer (Chainsaw Man Ending 9)

I love Aimer with all my being, I really do. She always delivers. And this is probably my favorite Chainsaw Man ending not just because of this song but because of Akira-esque visuals. Combining that imagery with Aimer’s vocals is an experience and I never regretted. Plus, this song has that classic Aimer per-chorus buildup only for her to hit it in the chorus. Love her to death.

Ibara Rinbukyoku by Makoto Furukawa (Requiem of the Rose King Opening 2)

This song is so beautiful and sinister, really sets you up for the plot of the second part of this tragic anime. You can feel every emotion Richard is playing with and every single anguish he will experience. And yet, the melody is so beautifully melancholic that you can’t get enough of this song. Sinister and addictive.

Rasen by Nowlu (Requiem of the Rose King Ending 2)

If the opening was sinister, this ending song is just plain sad and tragic. Really showcases the way Richard is slowly succumbing to his despair. The vocals are so raw and emotional, it really pulls on your heartstrings and makes you ache and cry for Richard’s destiny. And yet, despite all that, you feel the intensity of these emotions and you can’t help but hope the poor king finally found closure.

(Let me say this song hits different at the last three episodes, many tears were shed)

Natsu no Yuki by krage (Raven of the Inner Palace Ending)đ

Probably my favorite song of last year. It’s just crafted differently and so beautifully that I legit had it on loop for two entire days and I’m still not tired of it. You can feel all emotions the Raven consort is experiencing: wish to isolate herself yet to be close to other people, fear, longing for the times when things were simpler but also for the happiness of those she cares about. I said this year of 2022 was slightly lackluster when it comes to music, but this song came at the end of the year and smacked me across the face with it’s beauty. I couldn’t recommend it more than I already am.

Break time!

All these guys go to the same college. My issue is, the college is named  堂紫社大学. Since there was no hiragana to see how to pronounce it, I’m scared of writing the wrong romaji and it’s pronounced another way. Right now, I’ll call it Doushisha Daigaku, Doushisha University. The characters are literally: 堂(temple)紫(purple)社(office) 大学 (college/university) so…purple temple university? I mean, they wear purple uniforms, as seen in the official art. take the university name from me with a grain of salt.

Anyway, there are 2 characters left now. They’re from a different college: 黄風院大学 … kifuin daigaku? I’m not even going to try with this one. But it’s made of the characters  黄(yellow)風(wind)院(institution)大学(college/university)…yellow wind university, haha (maybe they wear yellow uniforms  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

Hongou Madoka 本郷 円（ほんごう・まどか）- Went to high school with Natsusa. Loves fun things (like…???) Creator of the “backs” (I am interpreting this as his rugby position)

Hongou Kazutaka 本郷主鷹（ほんごう・かずたか）- Madoka’s younger brother. He has a close relationship with Ibuki. He’s an arrogant guy who’s referred to as the “God of Destruction” among forwards

Position: Forward (Number 8) Year: 3rd VA: Kaito Ishikawa

I kinda like the farfetched connection between kazutaka and kageyama here. They have the same voice actor(kaito ishikawa) for one. Two, Kageyama was called King of the Court because of his perfectionist, overbearing attitude which sat wrong with his teammates, and this guy is arrogant and called a God of Destruction. I wonder how Ishikawa will play him.

Even if one person reads this I’d be genuinely happy 😂 Number 24 comes out in ~5 months, and tbh I’m looking forward to it. The rugby cup is going on rn in Japan, but I guess they couldn’t get this out in time due to Try Knights airing right now. (If you want to watch a rugby anime now while you wait..All Outs!! is the way to go. It’s 26 episodes and one of my favorite sports anime.)The characters look cute interesting, and I know a lot of these voice actors. I’m kinda bummed there isn’t a female character in sight (let’s be honest, we all know what the demographic of this anime is), but sports anime with a male cast tend to have ~1-2 female characters as support (managers, the occasional coach[see Dive!!], sibling/childhood friend of MC, etc.) so I’ll wait and see. Here’s to hoping number 24 is another good sports anime.

The Boys of Rugby Anime number24 Get Voices and Key Visual

  Just ahead of this year's Rugby World Cup in Japan, upcoming series number24 is revealing its characters and voice cast!

  The upcoming series focuses on a team of 11 college boys (up from five at the show's last major announcement) on their school's rugby team. At the forefront is Natsusa, who initially cannot play rugby when he enters college for "certain reasons."

11 - What reoccurring themes present themselves throughout their music videos

I'm assuming this means specifically symbolism! If not sorry ^^; I haven't actually thought much for Kanami's symbolism... so sorry girl you deserve the world ♡♡♡

As for Taisei, his biggest reoccurring theme is art! He wanted to be an art teacher before... everything happened. It's specifically used as a metaphor for manipulation, 'painting' reality to look different for someone else.

7 - If they hadn't been put in milgram, would they have continued killing?

For Taisei, his murder was definitely a one-time thing! More specifically, he'd never allow himself to be in the same position as he was when his murder took place again. He's swore to never allow himself to be so vulnerable with another like he was with his victim.

For Kanami, potentially? She definitely doesn't like killing and will definitely try to avoid doing it, but her murder was done to protect another, so if she was put in a similar situation she'd probably kill again. Her first and only murder was an accident, but she'd definitely have murderous intent if she had to deal with the same situation a second time.

17 - Free question! In trial one, do they expect to be forgiven?

Taisei is a very unsure 'no'. Both real and imagined rejection from others has made him develop severe trust issues, and he currently doesn't believe that anyone would be able to understand him or want to help him. He's also extremely aware that what he did was very fucked up. That being said, he does think he was right commit his murder, and that if people were to look past their prejudice, they'd think so too. He wants to be forgiven, but he knows better than to get his hopes up.

Kanami 100% thinks she'll be forgiven! She believes everyone is inherently good, even if they hurt (or kill) others, so if she just explains to Es why her murder was okay and why voting her guilty is pointless, then they'll definitely understand and forgive her! This question was specifically for trial one, but even if she's voted guilty, she'll assume it was a misunderstanding or that something went wrong with the machine, so she'll definitely be forgiven in trial two!

what do kanami and taisei (? i always forget his name) look like? (scheming)

scheming.... so scary D: ! I don't have any art of them yet orz ive been meaning to draw them but I've lost all art motivation suddenly TT so i shall badly describe them ☆

Kanami is 5'6, skinny n pale. She has wide, light green eyes and dirty blonde hair thats cut into wispy bangs and tied up into a weird bun that I'm not sure how to describe... this was the closest picture to it i could find but its not perfect TT

Taisei (u got the name right :3) is 5'10, and skinnier and paler than Kanami, and he's got eyebags so he kinda look a lil sick all the time... his hair is an almost black dark purple and is very messy n fluffy which falls to his shoulders. His eyes are a light brown and he has thin frame rectangular glasses

I don't have any of the prison uniforms planned out 😅 when i eventually draw em I'll send them to u!! Whenever that is;;

Taisei's uniform would become extremely restrictive if voted guilty! He has a lot of anxiety around being trapped, and his uniform restraints would reflect this. Alternatively, if he's forgiven, his uniform would loosen up greatly!

Kanami's would almost be an inverse. Her uniform would stay mostly the same if forgiven, but would get very baggy and loose if guiltied, similar to Amane's, reflecting how out of control and lost she feels. If guiltied twice, she'd stop caring about her appearance and not tie up her hair anymore (it's usually in a kinda braided bun)

15 - What would their birthday art look like? What type of cake would they have? Is there any hints of their murder in it?

I have limited cake knowledge :x I'll need to think about this one more ^^; however I do know the flowers they'd have! Kanami has ambrosia, and Taisei has burdock

8 - What do the voices of the outside world tell them?

Doesn't this depend on the reason behind their judgement? It's kinda hard to accurately guess why someone would vote them either way. For Taisei, if someone forgave him, I'd assume it's because they sympathise with him for being a victim of abuse for so long. But if they guiltied him, I'd assume it's because he still very purposely drove someone to suicide, which is extremely fucked up no matter what. For Kanami, if she was forgiven I'd assume the main reason was because her murder itself is genuinely very forgivable, defending a child from getting attacked by a grown woman. She didn't even intend to kill them;; so I imagine Kanami would feel extremely affirmed and accepted for her crime. If she wasn't forgiven, I'd assume it's because of reasons outside of her murder.

14 - Do you have any lyrics planned for their song?

I don't :x I've got like... no musical knowledge 😅 that being said, I have picked preexisting songs (outside of Deco songs) that they'd sing for each trial >:3

16 - Do you have any minigram plots planned for them?

Nothing overly specific ^^; Fuuta and Mappi have a timeline convo where Fuuta tells her that she should act more her age since she's the oldest girl in milgram, but Kanami is older than Mahiru (by one year), so that conversation would end up happening between Fuuta and Kanami instead. Taisei and Shidou both wonder if they've died and went to the afterlife in the first trial, so I think it'd be fun to make a minigram exploring them talking about it ^^

12 - What is their relationship like with the other prisoners?

Taisei pretty much ignores everyone trial 1, choosing to stay in his room almost all day... so he's not super close with anyone ^^; he does smoke however, so he's at least a little friendly with the rest of the smoker's group. He's pretty cynical and cold for trial 1 (and longer if guilty), so the occasional conversation he does have isn't very friendly... if forgiven, he opens up a lot! He starts acting more casually, kinda like an older brother type character. He doesn't interact much with the guilty prisoners, and he avoids Muu and Haruka as much as possible, regardless of theirs or his verdicts. He's concerned for Amane, but doesn't seem to know how to approach her outside of helping her with her studying

Kanami is super friendly with everyone! To the point it's kinda overwhelming and a little annoying... she is best with Mahiru, as they're both close in age and have pretty similar personalities. She calms down a little in trial 2 when forgiven, and focuses pretty much all of her time and attention on uplifting the guiltied prisoners, with varying results. When guiltied, she still tries to help the other guiltied prisoners, but she doesn't really do much good as her mind is super disorganised and distracted.

The relationship they have with each other depends heavily on their judgments. If both forgiven, they're on friendly terms, but again Kanami is too focused on the guilty prisoners to further that relationship. If both are guilty, Kanami's failed attempts to help Taisei end up really annoying him, so he makes sure to avoid her when possible. If Taisei is forgiven but Kanami isn't, they basically have no relationship whatsoever. If Kanami is forgiven but Taisei isn't, they get extremely close with each other ^^ not like Haruka-Muu level, but Kanami becomes one of the only things Taisei relies on, with Kanami is very happy about.
