Weeping with my boy

September 25th 2018

Tonight I held my sleeping son and wept. In a short 7 weeks, he has grown, learned and changed beyond what I could have foreseen. He is my greatest gift and deepest grief. For the first time, 18 years seems to pale miserably as such a small measure of time. Though I will love him all his life, my greatest joy is to have him here, in my home and in my arms, day after day. I simply cannot accept my inevitable future when his room is empty and my heart is evermore to be wrung, longing to be back in these ever fleeting days. Treasuring every moment.

Check out the beautiful selection of books from Once Upon a Storybook in a Box @ocstorybook 📚 Zelah received the early readers and middle grade readers but they also have the littlest listeners which are great for birth to age 3. One of the unique things I like about this monthly book subscription is how all the #EarlyReaders this month were of a certain theme and this month's was snails. I think each book in this bundle was a perfect selection for age 4 to 8 and it even included a bonus activity. The middle readers are of a diverse group of titles with a focus on non fiction and are excellent selections for ages 8 to 12.
