Morning After

New fontcest fic! 💙 🧡 Thank you for your writing request, May!

Summary: Sans wakes up to find Papyrus asleep in his arms after a passionate night together. Although they both enjoyed themselves, the morning after leaves Sans fraught with tension. Sans is concerned about how their relationship may change going forward.

This is a sequel to "Kissing Lessons" but you don't really need to read that one to follow the events of "Morning After."

Summary: Your soulmate's name is written on your body.

Papyrus wears a glove to hide the name on his wrist. Your own name.

Sans has the name Papyrus written on his foot, which is why he collects socks, so that he always has something "on hand" if he needs to hide it.

When Papyrus was old enough he asked Gaster what the letters on his wrist meant, Gaster, who was not at all pleased that his experience had a soul mate, (after all this was just another reminder that his experiment had a soul and was a being alive, with conscience and not the soulless weapon he had planned) tries to diminish it by saying that it was just a name. Papyrus, who until that moment was only designated with a code, adopts the name written on his wrist as his.

Sans doesn't ask about the name on his foot. In fact, from an early age he learns to hide it, for fear of reprisal on the part of Gaster. When he meets Papyrus, they know each other by codes and only when they leave the lab do they adopt new names.

Monsters rarely have repeated names, so there is little chance of another Papyrus or Sans in the Underground.

Having his own name written was a rare occurrence, but not unprecedented. It just meant that the being did not need another to feel complete (which does not mean that he could not find a partner, whether romantic or not), but these people are commonly seen as possessing great self-love.

Papyrus hides the name on his wrist to prevent people depart from him.

Despite having his name written on his wrist, Papyrus misses something. He hopes to find a mate for himself (even if he is not very interested, or understands it from romance). He thinks he can cover this need to be loved.

Sans didn't know what the name on his foot meant and he never really cared about it until he met Gaster's other experiment. When Papyrus takes this as his name, Sans is confused, but thinks it may be something they both share (like the scientist's experiments) it is only after they leave that he discovers that the name is the mark of his soul mate.

Sans does not use Papyrus as his name, as he thinks the name is a designation just like the codes that Gaster calls them (something like a joke from the Doctor, perhaps marking his experiments).

Sans is extremely confused and frustrated with the brands. What is the point of having a name for your soul mate if you don't even know what it would be like for you? At this point he simply decides to ignore the whole complication of what a soul mate means and establish a brotherly relationship with Papyrus.

Over the years, he realizes that he may have made a serious mistake, but now it is too late, as he never told his brother what the name was written on his body.

Sans resigns himself to spending his life next to his soul mate, whom he is in love with, and never telling him, or changing the status of his relationship, until things explode and his universe is merged with others 3. Now there are 4 sets of Sans and Papyrus, each with their respective names or the names of their brothers on their bodies.

How do you find out which skeleton your soul is assigned to, and what kind of relationship does your soul require of them?

Talecest 1, 6 and 11?

1. Sleep talks? What do they say? What does the other think?: Papyrus does. Where he normally doesn’t sleep, when he does it almost always a deep enough to cause him to sleep talk. Rare occasions have him sleepwalking to his post in the middle of the night. Sans may or may not have multiple recordings of Papyrus doing both.  

Papyrus normally just whispers about spaghetti. On the rare occasion that it is Sans, he normally sleeps talks about Papyrus. Which Papyrus has yet to catch but when he hears it, he will rush to his phone to get his own recording

.6. Kills the bugs?:  Neither. Papyrus doesn’t have the soul to kill a living creature. It never sits well with him. Sans is the one to remove the bugs from the premise though and give them a new home. (papyrus may or may not make tiny hotel-like apartment for the bugs. DON’T JUDGE THE GREAT PAPYRUS)

11. Is a picky eater? How does the other combat this?: Stars, this is also barely neither. Sans could eat anything. However, Papyrus is a picky eater with grease. (i can relate) Mostly everything else is fine. Sans normally just tries to stick to grease-free food or makes sure to pats the grease off with a napkin when he makes food for a date. Which is almost a reverse for Papyrus. Papyrus knows how much Sans like burgers so Papyrus makes it then and only then when it’s his turn to cook on date nights.
