I'm gonna try to keep it short but in general i think they (the states) are all as old as the human belief in what their like. core. is. and will exist until the general idea is faded from the greater consciousness. so, the personification of 'florida' has existed since the land was first widely called and generally accepted to be 'la florida', and will until people stop believing in like. the concept of the State Of Florida. if that makes sense. augh.

with that general context, the tale of the fountain of youth being the alleged reason Juan Ponce even went to florida is, in a funny twist of fate, a real ass reason he's been around so damn long, if not just through the perpetuation of his name through the legend. drives him kinda bonkers i think that's why he is the way that he is. went a bit bozo bonkies

I can't stop thinking about how phenomenal Ncuti's acting has been in Boom and Dot And Bubble. I wasn't too sure from The Giggle that 15's vibe might be a bit too hip, but the emotions that man portrayed from episodes where he stood still the entire time and where he only appeared in person at the end. That man can ACT, that man IS The Doctor. He embodies the emotional intelligence and ancient wisdom and childlike wonder of The Doctor through and through. Pair that with the first thing Millie filmed as Ruby being a solo companion episode in 73 Yards and how well she did with that. Opening the series with Space Babies has not done justice to how spectacular the last 3 episodes have been. Space Babies was fun, but the elevation of Boom, 73 Yards, and Dot And Bubble has blown it out the park and made Space Babies look like literal child's play.

soooo, hi!!

i know, its been awhile since you’ve properly heard from me. i’m sorry :((

i got into psychonauts near the end of HS / beginning of college, and between COVID, graduation, and all the major changes in my life, it was an amazing place to just make art i loved and explore stories with the characters i love :]

as time went on, i began to step away from here to focus more on college and my work

i also got into different things since then! Barry, HLVRAI, just to name a few

i haven’t ever forgotten my love for psychonauts, not for a second, in fact, my inspiration for coming back here was watching a play through by a new streamer i found

watching someone react to it for the first time just made me fall in love with it all over again.

and now, here we are

i graduated, and now i’m fresh in the world trying to figure out what to do with my life

I’m currently figuring out a job and all that gross adult stuff, but even now in time of great change, i’m drawn back to the world of psychonauts

now the big question — what about the riptide au?

i’ll be honest: i reread riptide, there’s parts i like, parts i didn’t, and parts i completely forgot what i was setting up for

ive matured as a writer and storyteller since riptide’s conception, and i think it needs a refresher / boost

i think you can already see that from tholomew’s design — i tweaked a few things while i was drawing it (especially his shoes oh my god i had no idea what i was doing with his shoes before)

i haven’t forgotten any of psychonauts, even as my life heads in different directions. i think, right now, i’m gonna clear out my inbox for a fresh start. if you have any questions about the new riptide au, i’ll try to answer them when i have a spare moment in my day 💖

but yeah, i’m not dead, just got so busy and caught up with life i disappeared for a bit

for some reason i am not privy to, all the (old) people at my job are going out for lunch today with the 80 yr old consultant who used to work at the firm and i am one of three people not invited which would usually be a bummer but i personally am extremely excited to have up to potentially four hours of doing jack all unsupervised

Ok, that officially marks the end of my Rescue Bots nostalgia trip. I'm still going to finish the show of course, but the introduction of new characters means I'm heading out to unknown waters because I don't remember seeing any of these guys before.

I'm guessing this means less screentime and focus episodes for my favs, though they did seem to run out of ideas for them anyway considering they went through like every kids show episode trope in the first half of season 3. And I do already like Salvage, so I still have something to look forward to

It feels weird to see new episodes from a tf show I liked as a kid. Last time this happened to me was discovering the existence of Predacons Rising during our initial TFP rewatch back in 2020 (the one that led to me joining the fandom in the first place)

To conclude, as a kid I saw

-almost the entirety of season 1, multiple times but somehow missing the first few episodes

-most of season 2

-the occasional season 3 episode

We never see the photo that was taken of aziraphale and crowley at the magic show again, but we know that it was aziraphale who last had it. So I like to think that the reason we never see it anywhere else is because he carries it in his pocket, always. in an attempt to recover from a bad depressive slump, im doing both a kotor 2 playthrough (i have not played the first game. u can blame @scrollofgrease for telling me to play the second game first) and an evadne playthrough. will update with blorbo details as soon as possible. and screenshots of evadne because she's so cute what the hell. i couldn't get the heterochromia mod to work </3 but she still looks good.
