Talyn Maj, my main, is a Voidwalker and Vanguard operative doing her best under the craziest circumstances. A comedy of errors (that Im still busy writing) slapped her into the position of Young Wolf even though shes barely a decade old. She's bubbly, fun, and extroverted, and really just wants to be everyone's friend. Which is funny compared against how her exploits as a Guardian can make her seem falsely intimidating.

Carter "Soren" Sorensrenka, my Hunter, is a Nightstalker-turned-Revenant much older than Talyn, from the early City age. She tends to put on the air of a cool big sister with a sense of unbreakable calm, but considering what she's lost at Mare Imbrium, that's all a front for some extreme Darkness. She's doing her best.

Then, MacArthur-5, my Titan, is the oldest of them! Hes a Striker from the Dark Ages who works for Ikora's Hidden nowadays. He has for ages, too- even so far back as Twilight Gap, he's had a network of spies among the Fallen houses, and leverages his knowledge of the Eliksni language and culture for the Vanguard. Very sharp, very tactically minded, but very reserved and introverted. Also, huge LOTR nerd.

Mun had the pleasure of giving me a little makeover (New hairstyle, original set of armor based on cowboy movies and Monte Carlo imagery) and drawing my good friend @talyn-the-warlock​! If you are not following her, do it. She is the one who inspired me to make a blog of my own, and I couldn’t be happier to be her friend!

Not really related to the prompt, but Talyn seems like she'd be good with New Lights. Good at teaching combat skills and meditation techniques to get through the stress of it all, and also perfectly capable of integrating any threat into the fucking soil if it threatens her charges.

I haven't yet taken on much of a mentorship role, since I'm so young myself, but you're onto something! New Lights are always welcome to tag along with me, and I'm plenty patient enough to help them through the growing pains common in an early Guardian career. If I had to put a tag on it, I'd say more big sister than anything!

Is there a type of fashion your muse prefers? - Oh, absolutely! When I'm out of Warlock robes, you'll find me dressed in goth styles. Lots of fishnet, lots of black, and big, chunky platforms if I can help it! Black's the best color, and it matches my makeup too. I know it looks dark, but I promise I'm friendly!

Soren, meanwhile, likes a little bit more color. Shes into the skater styles- distressed jeans, loose flannel, that sort of thing. She's got a lot of tops with "Thrasher" on them, whatever that means. Pre-Collapse brand, maybe?

"Talyn, my friend, you are back! How were your Trials?"

"Do you really need to ask? You saw them."

The curtness of her tone takes Saint aback for a moment. "What is the matter, hm?"

"Nothing, its-"

"No no- come, sit. Talk to me."

"I..." Sigh. "I got so close. So bloody close. And I failed. Miserably. That fireteam, they were just..."

"Better?"

"Tch..."

"Tell me- do you think we are immune to failure? Do you really believe so?"

"..."

"Wasn't I a failure? Hm? You found me a failure, did you not? You did, and you did not cower then! No, you scraped me from the mud and showed me what a Guardian is!"

"Maybe, but..."

"No buts! I will not see you at the Lighthouse this time, but you will try again. And again. And a thousand times again, until they all understand your ferocity like I do!"

"Heh, I... Thank you, Saint."

"Thank YOU. Now go get your fireteam! ...now! Go and get them!"

"Wait, now? I can't just-"

"Right now, my friend! It was not a suggestion!"

"Commander? A word?"

Zavala turns slowly, as if he was lost in thought. "Ah. Good to see you, Guardian. How goes the evacuation?"

"As well as it can. We've had to take the long way around to avoid the Reef, but all is proceeding within projections. Another round of personnel should be arriving from Titan any day now."

"And the rest of the fleet?"

"I can't speak for them, but I hear good things from the other Arachs. You won't regret trusting us with this."

"Excellent. Keep me posted."

Turning back to the balcony, the Titan Vanguard leans over it and mulls the silence. Talyn doesn't move.

"...Zavala?"

"Hm? What's the matter now?"

"Nothing, really. I suppose I'm just worried."

"Fretting over me, are you? Your attentions are better focused on our work, Talyn."

"Are they?"

"Be assured that I have myself handled."

"Please. I care about you, I'm allowed to worry. Ever since Cayde, you've just seemed..."

"Absent?"

"Tired."

Zavala doesn't bother refuting the statement. He grumbles a sigh and grips tighter on the railing, every line on his shifting skin suddenly in boldface. A second lingers before he's joined there by the Warlock.

"...what are you-"

"Just watching the Traveler. The City. All the lights are so pretty from up here..." A smile is flashed over her shoulder. "I can't have you keeping this view all to yourself, can I?"

"No... I suppose that would be selfish of me. Have you much time?"

"As much as you need."

Soren and I both got our glows all done! That grind was... It was just... Whew!

Anybody else a member of the seven Trials wins gang? I love how I spent hours doing that and I can't even fucking see them on my boots! Love that, honestly!

No, seriously though, my sense of accomplishment this year is immeasurable. I hope you Guardians are having a fun Solstice, too!

Thanks for your submission, @balance-in-life101! Apologies for not getting to it sooner, I've been super busy.

My favorite food is easy- the reuben sandwich. Extra sauerkraut. I could eat one for every meal ans never get tired of it.

Favorite gun is really hard. In D1, my favorite was my Hung Jury SR4. Ever since Forsaken, though, I've be absolutely in love with my Supremacy sniper rifle!

As for my favorite destination, I'd probably say the Dreadnaught was a favorite. Seeing Hive architecture was all at once scary and really fascinating. Plus, that view of Saturn from inside its rings is to die for.
