Barakamon live action episode 1

It was sooo good! The picturesque cinematography is a blessing to the eyes. And the elders do speak with Gotou dialect lol good luck for subbers! This episode was 45 minutes in Fuji TV but became 1 hour long due to long, multiple commercial breaks! Curse you golden primetime! All in all they do compact around 2,5 anime episodes here so quite a lot re-arrangements of the plot yet in a clever way that the important moments and conversations aren't cut off and the pace feels normal. Considering the anime also re-arranged the order of the plot from the manga so it's expected. Just keep in mind that this Seishuu Handa is 27 y.o so expect a much more polite and composed, less clumsy and chaotic, and gentler Handa lol. Also the whole vibe of this ep for me is more melancholic than comedic which I'd expected as much since it's a drama. Next week preview looks funnier!

3. If you had to pick a character to date from barakamon who would it be

This one is tough because my mind keeping going back to Handa but like, he'd be so frustrating to be with what with how much he overthinks everything and I mean, I don't want to fix him. Whatever he has going on is much funnier.

So, Kawafuji? Kawafuji looks like he'd be fun to date. Probably wouldn't take any of it too seriously. It'd just be fun 😌

6. If you could be friends with one (1) character from barakamon who would it be?

I was going to say Tama for the whole fujoshi thing, but if I wanted a strong bond I'd pick Hiroshi. I'd want to be his best friend so we can make fun of Handa together

Seishuu Handa First Date Headcanons

Seishuu asks you out after about a month of contemplating 

He invites you to his place and nervously asks you out and of course you accept(if you don't, why are you here?)

You eventually leave and he calms down for a while because he finally asked you out but then he realizes he didn't plan anything and he's never been on a date before 

He freaks out and calls Kawafuji for advice and Kawafuji begins to tease him but because he's so nervous he accidentally hangs up on Kawafuji 

He then invites Hiro over and asks him for advice(don't ask why this 23 year old is asking an 18 year old for dating advice)

Tama comes by(because her fujoshi senses were tingling) and overhears their conversation hearing Seishuu say

"Hiro, you're a handsome guy right? Please tell me what we should do on our date!"

Tama then runs away before they can notice her and goes to Miwa's place and suggests things about "Hiro and sensei's relationship" just confusing Miwa

The day of your date you and Seishuu walk around the village deciding to wait to have dinner 

Meanwhile Tama, Hiro, and Miwa follow them around the village 

Hiro is complaining that they're making him follow you two around despite the fact that he was the first one spying on you two

Seishuu does the hover hand once or twice 

The entire date he is blushing and stumbling over his words 

Miwa : "God he's such a prude"

Tama : "Miwa!"

Miwa : "I'm just saying!" *groans* "This is so boring they haven't done anything"

Hiro : "You're telling me the most they've done was look and smile at each other and all sensei has done is the hover hand a few times, I don't know why you guys had to make me follow them around" 

Miwa : "You were the one that were following them in the first place!"

Seishuu : "Hey did you hear something?"

They all duck down the moment they hear his voice

After walking around you hold his hand and he turns red and gets embarrassed

You two finally decide to have dinner 

So you guys go to the restaurant(which is the only restaurant in the village and it's really more of a diner)

At the restaurant you guys order and you think you see Miwa but you chalk it up to your imagination and hunger and go on with your date 

You and Seishuu get lost in your conversation and you forget about possibly seeing Miwa 

But as soon as completely push it to the back of your mind you hear a few screams and a crash 

You and Seishuu turn around and see Tama, Hiro, and Miwa on the ground 

You all leave and go to Seishuu's house and they all explain that they were following you two the entire day and they were trying to hear what you two were saying but they fell 

Hiro, Miwa, and Tama eventually apologize and leave 

Soon after they leave Seishuu apologizes to you and rambles and you interrupt him by kissing him on the cheek and say goodbye and leave

Hiro comes back because he accidentally left his phone and he freaks out seeing Seishuu passed out

I'm just once again feel frustrated by how minimalist the PR has been doing their job for the intl fans of Barakamon, though it's not a new thing I guess...but hey, the announcement was in April and now with 2 months away there's still only 1 news being circulated over and over? No full actor's list no trailer no teaser none... Considering the manga and anime were licensed in English and it's not like it's totally unpopular...is this intended or just bad PR strategy idk, I wish they at least has advertised it for like 6 months so more people would hear and anticipate it. Release some bts or footages or at least more pictures? And most of all please make it available outside Japan 🙃

Episode 166: Two Is Better Than One. Two People Are Better Than One

THE STORY THUS FAR: gintama went live-action and a cold went around

The current opening song is the opposite of the last one. Whereas with the last song, I found it annoying at first but it eventually grew on me, this one gets more and more irritating every episode. Not sure why, it’s just kinda bland and the singer oversings a bit. Or something. I don’t know shit about music. I just know it’s getting on my nerves.

In this episode, Hijikata arrests Gin-san for interfering with a stakeout, and ends up cuffing their wrists together in order to keep him from running off until Sogo can come and take him to the station. He loses the key so we can have a plot, and Sogo decides to exacerbate the situation instead of uncuffing them because he’s Sogo, so shenanigans ensue.

If Hijikata is supposed to tail the suspect so he’ll lead him back to their base, why is he wearing his uniform? You’d think it would make him stand out a bit. Granted, the bad guy didn’t even notice the two dudes cuffed together following him, so it’s possible he was well aware the dude’s an idiot.

Sogo’s lucky Kondo is overly nice, because the shit he pulled in this episode should’ve gotten him fired and probably arrested.

This episode was mostly fujoshi pandering and I typically despise that sort of thing, but God help me I loved this episode. It was hilarious, and Gin-san and Hijikata teaming up to kick ass is always the greatest thing.

Next episode has something to do with Tama and a computer virus, but more importantly, Gin-san spent the preview talking about Dragon Quest IX. I like Dragon Quest. DQIX has one of the weaker stories, but it’s still damn fun. Dragon Quest is great. Go play Dragon Quest.
