Could you possibly write for Nagito and/or Hajime x a reader with braces who’s rather insecure about them? I would’ve asked hcs but I saw you wanted to do a oneshot and that would be cool! :) hope you feel better!
Thank you for the wishes! I think with requests that involve multiple characters, cause I have gotten a few of those, I’ll make the oneshots just a bit shorter but still a decent length!
Fun fact people always think that I’ve had braces with how straight my teeth are but nope. Never had them. And I hope I never do because I know how much they must suck cause my friend had them for a long time.
It’s all under the cut!

Nagito Komaeda
“Come on, Y/N.... surely it’s not that bad!” Nagito, your boyfriend, was the one who had taken you to get the braces you reeeeally didn’t want but the dentist said you needed.
“They are that bad, Nagito!” You yelled, although it pained your mouth. You had locked yourself in the bathroom, staring at your reflection. At the metal invading your mouth.
You knew what people would say, specifically Hiyoko. She’d call you rude names, probably something like “brace face” or “wire head.” You were insecure of your teeth before but now... now you were miserable.
Nagito had convinced you they wouldn’t be that bad. That you’d only need them for a few years, then your teeth would be nice and straight! But none of what he said could have prepared you for this.
You felt so ugly, felt like you looked like those stereotypical ways they portray nerds on tv. All you needed now was glasses held together in the middle by tape and you’d not only be the laughing stock of your class, but all of Hope’s Peak.
“Love, please just let me in. You’re the only one who’s seen them. You’re going to see them as worse than what they actually are.” Sighing, you walked to the door and unlocked it, letting your boyfriend into the bathroom. He smiled and kissed your forehead, knowing your cheeks were probably sensitive.
“They look really bad...” you covered your mouth as you spoke, making him frown.
“I doubt they look bad,” he gently tugged at your hand, “come on....” giving in, you let him pull your hand away, but closed your mouth. He frowned again, lightly tapping your lips to silently ask you to open them. You couldn’t say no to him.
“Fine,” you opened your mouth to show him, “happy?”
“Yes,” he smiled back and looked at your teeth, “you call these bad? They look fine!”
“Yes I call them bad! Because they are!”
“Sweetheart they look perfect. The [color of your choice] perfectly matches your eyes!”
“.....you think so?”
“I know so,” he kissed your head again, “come on. I have your favorite ice cream waiting in the freezer.”
Hajime Hinata
“S/O. Seriously. It’s not as bad as you think.” You had covered your face in your hands after accidentally giving your boyfriend Hajime a glimpse of your new braces. He had offered to take you to get them, but you knew he’d find you ugly so you opted to ask Chiaki take you instead.
He knew you were going to be self conscious so he didn’t mind, simply waiting for you to get home and preparing foods he read were easy to eat right after getting braces. Chiaki dropped you off and Hajime thanked her before she left you two alone. You gave him a sticky note that said “hurts to talk, let’s just cuddle” when in reality you just didn’t want him seeing.
Granted, it did hurt, but you still could talk. You had complained to Chiaki the whole drive home about how ugly you felt.
But Hajime bought it and nodded, taking you to the living room and turning on the tv. He held you in his arms as you watched together, a feeling of dread slowly forming within you.
He was going to see them eventually. He was going to be disgusted at how ugly you looked. He’d never want to kiss you again with the wire attached to your mouth!
He could tell something was bothering you, assuming it was the pain. He wanted to make you feel better, to take all of that pain away. He leaned down and planted a kiss on top of your head, making you look up.
“Love you babe.”
You couldn’t help but smile back.
“Love you too, Hajime.” You froze. You exposed your mouth. He’d seen the ugly disaster that was your face. You quickly got up and covered your face with your hands, tears threatening the corners of your eyes.
“S/O? What’s wrong?” He truly saw nothing wrong with the interaction you two had just had. Did it really hurt that much to speak?
“I accidentally showed you the braces! That’s what’s wrong! You think I’m ugly and you’ll never want to kiss me ever ever again! I’m sorry I never should have gotten them!” He honestly didn’t even see them, or notice they were there at least.
And that’s what lead you two here, you on the verge of tears and him trying to convince you that he really didn’t care what they looked like and that they seriously weren’t as bad as you thought.
“S/O, please listen to me. I don’t think you’re ugly, you aren’t ugly, and I still want to kiss you. I’m not gonna for a bit because your in pain, but I can tell you the braces don’t bother me!” He had his hands clasped around your wrists at this point, gently tugging at them to encourage you to move your hands, but you weren’t budging.
He truly couldn’t understand why you didn’t see yourself the way he did. He thought you were beautiful, with or without braces. He love you, loved everything about you, and he just couldn’t comprehend you thinking any differently.
But you did. And he hated it. You were starting to sound like Nagito with all your self deprecating. Wait... Nagito. That’s it.
“Hey S/O, look,” he let go of your wrists and ruffled his hair until it was a complete mess, sticking out in all directions, “I’m Nagito!”
“H-Huh,” you slowly looked up, choking back a laugh when you saw your boyfriends impression of your friend, “seriously?” You spoke while still covering your mouth. Not exactly what he wanted, but it was a start.
“Uh, yeah!,” he ran into your room and grabbed a few of your small plushies, running back to you, “A-And look at this,” he did his best to slick his now untamed hair back, grabbing the plushies and posing, “I’m Gundham Tanaka, the forbidden one!” You snorted at his next impression, mouth still covered but slowly getting there.
More and more he continued to do horrible impressions of your classmates until both of you were crying from laughter. You reached over and shoved him slightly, wiping your tears away.
“You little dork,” you smiled at him, “you’re cute.” You had completely forgot about your insecurities, smiling wide at him.
“And so are you, Babe,” he kissed your forehead, making you laugh, “you and your [color of your choice] braces.”
