Usually I’ll say Ash for a huge character switchup, but I really wanna talk about Quinn/068
Quinn started as a dragon/human creature that was part of an inter-dimensional task force dedicated to removing evil from the world. She was calm, intelligent and suave. She was coincidentally a self insert.
Since then she has switched Genres to be a science fiction character, she is a naive, brainwashed young woman, who watches the truth of reality unfold around her.
Tag the OC who has taken on a life of their own and has switched genres, character archetype, or personality.

068.
Very strong but it's mostly born from anxiety. He is a hard worker and puts an unusual amount of focus and effort into any task he performs. He feels responsible to protect those he feels are lower ranked in his 'pack' as well.

068 is already waiting on his knees when Milonas steps into his cell, but his back straightens as he sees her. His surprise is evident. "068," she greets him. "Interrogator." His tone is steady, his gaze calm and curious. She sees no reason to beat about the bush. "I am moving you to different accommodation." Apprehension chases curiosity across his face.
"You don't require the same security level as the other assets, and it's past time you had a better equipped work space. You don't belong in this cell block any more. You'll be housed close to the acolytes' quarters, and you will have access to the librarium as well as a private space for your work."
When she pauses long enough, he speaks cautiously. "I, ah, I am honoured by your trust in me, Interrogator." He doesn't voice the but, but she hears it all the same. "You have concerns, asset?" "I, I'm... just nervous, Interrogator, I don't want to disappoint you." She smiles. "I realise that it'll take some adjustment. Trust my judgement, you will do fine." He nods. "If you do have specific concerns, voice them. You are the expert on the containment of your subject matter. And this is not a punishment. It's supposed to be an improvement in your conditions, so if you're unhappy I want to know." "Yes Interrogator." "Get washed up, put these on," she drops the set of folded clothes beside the door, "and meet me in the guard room." "Yes Interrogator." Her presence might not evoke the terror that it once did, but he still jumps gratifyingly quickly to do as he's told.
She doesn't have to wait long before he's ready, though he hesitates on the threshold until a nod gives him permission to step out of the cell block proper and into the guard room. Then he comes to heel promptly, looking damp and ill at ease in the plain black clothes. They're a better fit than the jumpsuit, but Ariadne notes that the jacket still hangs loose off his shoulders. He needs either a narrower cut, or an exercise regime.
"With me," she orders, and he falls in at her shoulder as she leads him away from the cells.
"Shall I assume you still require wardings for your room?" "I, um, don't require them, Interrogator. I... I'll have more nightmares without them, and be at a marginally higher risk of influence by the c-corrupting powers of the Warp, Interrogator." "Mm. I've assigned a servoskull to assist you in inscribing the diagrams. You'll have to do without until you finish, but with the skull's assistance I imagine it won't take you more than a few days." "Thank you, Interrogator."
She shows him his new work space -- fitted with shelf space but not yet filled with his texts and materials -- and the entrance to the librarium. He nods along to her words as she explains the bounds of his new freedoms, as attentive as ever, but she can see his tension climbing as he struggles to take it all in. He hugs his own arms, and his scarred fingers fidget at his sleeve where the patch with his number usually is.
Deciding that further briefing can wait, Ariadne shepherds him to his new room. There are minimal furnishings -- just a bunk anchored to the wall and a locker for his new clothing -- but it's more than twice the size of his cell and he stops in his tracks to goggle at the space. The servoskull hovers in one corner, waiting emotionlessly for instructions.
"That door's the hygiene closet," Ariadne points. "The shower and toilet are for your use, use them when you need to." Most of the rooms on this corridor share facilities, but making 068 mix with the general population would be asking for trouble. "You won't be escorted in and out of this room, but the door will lock automatically off-shift, so make sure you're back inside by then."
Tacitus is staring at her with wide, dazed eyes. "Still with me, asset?" she smirks. "Yes Interrogator, I'm sorry Interrogator," he breathes. She waits. It takes him a moment to speak on. "I-I... I live here now, Interrogator?" "That's right." "Thank you, Interrogator. I... thank you."
"I can see that you'll need some time to settle in. Your only task for now is to set up your wardings, so I'll leave you to start drafting and perhaps get to know the skull, hm?" "Yes Interrogator," he agrees dumbly. "The skull will obey you within reason. It's equipped with a las-etcher, so don't do anything foolish, will you." "No Interrogator." "I will see you tomorrow, asset. Enjoy your new quarters." "Thank you, Interrogator." There's wonder in his tone, and Ariadne smiles to herself as she lets herself out.

@calledmine asked: '068. How strong is your character’s sense of responsibility? What kinds of things trigger it?' for daehwi
daehwi has a very strong sense of responsibility. it’s triggered by different things for different reasons, in different circumstances. if daehwi is given a job or a task, like his role in the fraternity or his job as a nurse, he feels responsible to carry it out. he also feels responsible for his friends, in a different way. when they’re behaving recklessly or in danger, daehwi feels responsible to redirect them or take care of them. and with his family- his parents, his brother, his husband or children- he feels instinctually responsible to take care of them just by having that personal connection.

#68 on the prompt list!
068: "We’ve been celebrating our wedding anniversary on the wrong day for the past nine years."
this took me a minute i'm so sorry oof!!
If there's anything Billy's learned, it's that his cooking skill is nothing compared to the culinary prowess of his husband. Stefano Alexander Lorenzo Harrington (a mouthful, Billy knows, he was terrified of messing it up during their vows) is king of the kitchen, and Billy enjoys everything he cooks, but sometimes Steve's menu can be used to give insight to what he's feeling.
It's one of those funny little quirks that the blonde man fell for all those years ago. After Starcourt, after he nearly died, his father cut ties with him completely and Max all but literally dragged him over to Steve's place. Steve didn't like him back then, not that Billy ever gave him a reason to like him, but the moment Max explained everything his doe eyes softened and he offered Billy a room in his house on the spot. Billy spent countless nights after that feasting on baked ziti and lasagna - "with my own pasta, none of that pre-made shit," Steve pronounced proudly as he served Billy the biggest slice of pasta he'd ever seen in his life to that point; he's outdone himself several times in the years since - and at one point realized he couldn't live a day without Steve's cooking.
He couldn't live without that blinding smile either, or without the sight of Steve chasing the Party around like a distressed young mother, or without the feeling of being wrapped up in those slender arms, face tucked into the crook of Steve's neck as the taller boy promised to keep him safe from the monsters of this and any other world. Steve told his parents Billy was just staying at the house until he found his feet, but they ended up living like that for four years before an argument between the Harrington men got ugly enough to make Steve want to leave. And so they did, after helping Steve's hoard of kids move to their respective colleges. They found themselves a little apartment in Malibu and Billy went to college that same year.
It was hard, for a while. Steve was still unsure of what he wanted to do in life and Billy struggled to find a balance between classes, his job at the garage down the street, and time with Steve. They fought, they cried, and Steve always ended up smoothing things over with Billy's favorite soups, no matter how hot it was outside, and slowly things got better.
Billy proposed to his boyfriend two years after that, and a year after that they got married, unofficially, with Hopper officiating and the Party giving Steve away. They were married on the beach on September 6th, Steve cried all through the ceremony and they spent much of that night in absolute bliss, wrapped up in each other's arms. Billy swore that the date would be one he would never forget, how could he forget? Nobody forgot their wedding date.
They've been married nine years now. He's got his engineering degree and owns the garage down the street now. Steve's artistic streak led to him opening a studio and offering art classes on top of selling his own work. They moved out of the apartment after Steve curled up to Billy's chest one night and begged for a baby. They have three of those now, bustling six-year-old Antonia, quiet three-year-old Max, and two-month-old Angelo. All three are with Auntie Max tonight, who's also moved out to the coast with Lucas and El in tow, because tonight is a special night. It's September 6th, and he and Steve are supposed to be celebrating.
Except Steve's making tiramisu and cheesecake. He's making Alfredo with shrimp and chicken and spinach, which Billy loves but knows that his husband hates. In fact, this is Billy's favorite meal, which Steve only pulls out when he's got something important to say or when Billy's feeling down. And Billy's not feeling down.
It takes some work to steal the great Stefano's attention in the kitchen, but Billy's got almost two decades worth of experience here. He hums before he touches the man - years of touch starvation and a few too many bad experiences have left the man rather skittish, especially with unexpected touches, so Billy's careful to give him warning. He presses right up against Steve's back and wraps his arms around him, fingers of his left hand slipping up under his shirt to stroke over Steve's hip while the fingers of his right hand settle just under the waistband of the brunette's sweatpants, trailing over a sensitive patch of skin. From there it's all about the kisses - little ones to the nape of Steve's neck, lazy ones on the side of his throat, nips and playful bites to the shoulder. He nuzzles at Steve's cheek a few times in between that mix and Steve lasts all of two minutes before he's melting back against Billy and gazing back at him, eyes painfully warm and full with that adoring look he always gives Billy. For a moment, the blonde can't breathe, stunned for the billionth time by Steve's beauty. He presses a soft kiss to his plump lips, slow and full of love, before nosing along his jaw.
"What are you thinking about?" he questions. Steve hums, turns from his current task of slicing his pasta dough to wrap his arms around Billy.
"You," he hums, and Billy has no doubt to the validity of that answer, but he presses anyway.
"What else?"
"What are you talking about?" Steve's eyebrow arches and Billy takes that exact moment to realize that his husband's beginning to grey, his coffee brown waves of hair showing a little speckle of silver. At thirty-five, Steve isn't really old at all, but he's got other little signs of age. He's not a lanky teenage boy anymore. But he's as stunning as ever, and Billy's heart melts as they stare at each other.
"Pretty boy, you told me you think spinach in alfredo is a sin, but you're adding it in and you only do shit like that when you've got something to share with the class. So share." His eyebrow arch as Billy opened his mouth to argue, and he hides a smile as Steve backs down.
"Fine. Sit down, Papa Blue." It's Billy's favorite nickname, received after their son Max stole the nickn baby blue. Max is biologically his, thanks to a donation from Robin. She did the same with Angelo, though their latest baby is Steve's, all big eyes and fluffy hair. Billy sits at his husband's request, and Steve sits across from him looking a little worried. "So, uh, you know how today is our anniversary?"
"Yeah, what about it?" Billy asks. Steve chews on his lip.
"Well, I called Hop this morning because he and Joyce wanna come meet little Jellybean," he begins.
"Angelo is gonna hate that nickname once he gets older," Billy warns. Steve shakes his head in amusement.
"No way, he'll love it. Or he'll at least have to tolerate it, because I'm not letting it go anytime soon. But that's besides the point. Hop and I were talking and he asked me what we did for our anniversary yesterday."
"Yesterday? Our anniversary is today, doesn't he remember?" Billy frowns as Steve runs his fingers through his hair.
"That's exactly what I said," he huffs. "But he was adamant we got married on the fifth, and so I went and checked."
"And?" Billy presses, terrified that he already knows the result. His husband bites his lip.
"And he's right. We misread the number on the date." Steve gives him a sheepish, frustrated look. "We’ve been celebrating our wedding anniversary on the wrong day for the past nine years."
"You can't be serious," Billy deadpans. Steve blinks at him.
Oh god.
It takes Billy seven seconds before he's snorting with laughter. Then he's flat-out snickering, and it doesn't take Steve long to follow. They laugh in the kitchen together until Billy's sides hurt and Steve starts to struggle for breath between his giggles.
"We've been doing it on the wrong day, what a bunch of idiots we are," Billy chuckles. Steve wipes tears of laughter away.
"Yeah, yeah," he chuckles, before his face morphs into something more apprehensive. "I'm sorry I got it wrong." Billy waves it off with one hand, a soft look settling on his face.
"Don't be. I've been making the same mistake. And I wrote the date down, I should have made my handwriting more legible." Billy's hand reaches over the table for Steve's. "Baby, I don't care that we've got the wrong date. All I care about is celebrating what we've got together, okay? I just want to celebrate the fact that I found someone who loves me more than I could ever deserve, someone who's stuck by my side through good and bad. I don't care what day we do that." He watches as Steve's anxious look melts into something significantly softer.
"Billy Hargrove, you deserve all the love this world has to offer and then some," he corrects gently. Billy's eyes crinkle softly around the edges as he smiles.
"And you've got more love in that mop on your head then the rest of the world could ever have." He stands and leans over to hold the other man's face in his hands, planting three quick kisses to his forehead. "Trust me, honey pie, you give me more love than I deserve. You give the whole world more love than it deserves." Steve's responding smile is bright and adoring, and Billy's heart melts even more.
"I love you, Billabong," he murmurs, stealing his own kiss from Billy's lips.
"And I love you, princess." They stay like that for a time, silent and content, before Steve speaks again.
"We're gonna get it right next year, right?" Billy laughs, nose wrinkling in his amusement.
"Of course. And every year after that. We can make it a two-day event, spend the first day bein' all romantic. I'm keepin' you in bed on day two, though." His smile turns into a familiar smirk. "Make you remember why you love having me around." He revels in the way his husband blushes violently, and Steve swats him away as he jumps up.
"You're a menace, Billy Hargrove. Leave me alone so I can finish cooking." He gets one last kiss before Billy backs out of the kitchen, and if he's got the same dopey grin on his face as he had in his twenties when looking at Steve Harrington, then it's neither here nor there.

[TASK 068: METIS]
Shout out to @olivaraofrph for helping compile this task in celebration of Native American Heritage Month! Metis are a distinct group of people separate from Native American or First Nations tribes, as their ancestors were early French and English colonizers who early on mixed with members of Native tribes, mostly Wabanaki, Mi'kmaq, Algonquin, Saulteaux, Cree, Ojibwe, Menominee, or Maliseet but others made their ways too. As Metis evolved, many continued to marry other mixed people, and sometimes other Europeans or Natives, to get to where it is today as a distinct native identity to be Metis. For the most part they reside in Canada, where they are recognized as one of the three groups of Aboriginal people, but to a lesser extent, they live in the US as well. There’s a masterlist below compiled of over 110+ Metis faceclaims categorised by gender with their occupation and ethnicity denoted if there was a reliable source. If you want an extra challenge use random.org to pick a random number! Of course everything listed below are just suggestions and you can pick whichever character or whichever project you desire.
Any questions can be sent here and all tutorials have been linked below the cut for ease of access! REMEMBER to tag your resources with #TASKSWEEKLY and we will reblog them onto the main! This task can be tagged with whatever you want but if you want us to see it please be sure that our tag is the first five tags, @ mention us or send us a messaging linking us to your post!
THE TASK - scroll down for FC’s!
STEP 1: Decide on a FC you wish to create resources for! You can always do more than one but who are you starting with? There are links to masterlists you can use in order to find them and if you want help, just send us a message and we can pick one for you at random!
STEP 2: Pick what you want to create! You can obviously do more than one thing, but what do you want to start off with? Screencaps, RP icons, GIF packs, masterlists, PNG’s, fancasts, alternative FC’s - LITERALLY anything you desire!
STEP 3: Look back on tasks that we have created previously for tutorials on the thing you are creating unless you have whatever it is you are doing mastered - then of course feel free to just get on and do it. :)
STEP 4: Upload and tag with #TASKSWEEKLY! If you didn’t use your own screencaps/images make sure to credit where you got them from as we will not reblog packs which do not credit caps or original gifs from the original maker.
THINGS YOU CAN MAKE FOR THIS TASK - examples are linked!
Stumped for ideas? Maybe make a masterlist or graphic of your favourite faceclaims. A masterlist of names. Plot ideas or screencaps from a music video preformed by an artist. Masterlist of quotes and lyrics that can be used for starters, thread titles or tags. Guides on culture and customs.

60-70. 😈👾👿

060. What is your character’s attitude toward education and learning?
Formal education? Big Dislike. He’s an out-of-the-box thinker and doesn’t do well in structured lessons and exams - his self-esteem takes a knock, he acts out because of that, is punished, acts out because of that and the cycle begins again. No, he doesn’t like formal education. He’s a Trouble Kid. Also, I can imagine a lot of the lessons not being challenging enough for him; he gets bored and that’s dangerous. The last thing you want in your classroom is a bored Raimundo. Also, sitting for a long time listening to someone talk, not being able to be active? That frustrates him. Not to mention his issue with authority.
But honestly, whether he’ll admit it or not, depending on the topic, he LOVES to learn. He studies the scrolls, studies wind, knows more about Showdowns than any other monk and all because he chose to learn about it. He likes being intelligent, especially because everyone always assumes that he isn’t and he lives for the looks on their faces when he surprises everyone and proves them wrong.
061. Does your character prefer adventure or safety and security?
ADVENTURE!!! Safety and security definitely has it’s place, and he craves a bit of calm every so often. But honestly, he’s highly energetic and motivated and prone to boredom very easily. He’s always gotta be kept busy - all his hobbies are very active, whether physically or mentally, so if he’s not being challenged enough by training or showdowns or saving the world, he’ll sink himself into those instead.
062. What sort of legacy does your character wish to leave behind?
Answered here.
063. How well does your character handle difficult people?
He’s… not great. It’s something he definitely needs to work on, especially now he’s a leader. If they’re being unintentionally difficult and are just awkward or something like that, he stays pretty polite, particularly if they’re an older stranger (see: the old lady in Bird of Paradise, who was being exceptionally awkward and annoying without realising it - he was unfailingly polite and kind to her). However, if they’re being difficult on purpose? He’ll know. And he won’t like it. He gets snappier, more sarcastic - there’ll be eye rolls, sighs, raised eyebrows, folded arms. He’s more likely to be outwardly impatient and possibly even straight up rude.
064. In what ways does your character annoy others?
Answered here. tl;dr EVERY way
065. Is your character better at leading or following? Which do they prefer?
He is better and more comfortable in a leadership role. He’s very aware of his team mates, their strengths, weaknesses and relationships. He’s excellent at boosting morale and does it consistently throughout the latter half of XS. He’s good at co-ordinating. He’s a master tactician, out of the box thinker, and hates feeling like he’s being bossed around. HATES it. Also, because of the way his mind works, he often has very different opinions about how a situation should be handled and it really bothers him when he’s forced to comply with someone else’s opinions. He’s also kind of lousy at following - he’ll regularly argue and disobey and nothing is really gonna stop him doing that.
066. Does your character prefer city life or being out in nature?
I’d say he prefers city life! He loves the buzz, the thrum, the energy - it’s familiar to him, but not in a stale way. It’s never quite the same. It’s not that he dislikes nature; he definitely wasn’t big on it before, but being out in it so often when Wu-hunting or just chilling around the temple, he’s come to appreciate it a little more. And he’s coming to realise that nature can be just as exciting as a city if you know where to look.
067. Does your character believe in fate or destiny?
He didn’t before coming to the temple, and even for a couple of years after. It’s not until the events of season 3 when he starts his leadership arc that we see him start really believing more in himself, his purpose and the role he plays in the team. I imagine it’s hard to be a literal ‘Chosen One’ and still maintain a sceptical outlook on destiny.
068. How strong is your character’s sense of responsibility? What kinds of things trigger it?
Hmmm. Okay that’s kind of a tricky one. It depends where he’s at in his journey and what specific kinda responsibility we’re talking about. We’ve seen him step up to the plate and shoulder responsibility (even before becoming Shoku warrior, he assumed a leadership role in various episodes, particularly if Omi wasn’t around). So real responsibility, like leading the team? He’s got a strong sense of responsibility there. We see that it’s usually triggered by necessity - it’s just a natural role he slips into when the team needs guidance. As for smaller responsibilities, like chores? He’ll always try and shirk those. He’s got better things to do than dust and wash dishes. No sense of responsibility for chores.
069. What about your character is heroic?
Hoo okay. This boy? He will put himself in danger for absolutely anyone. Doesn’t matter if he knows you or not. He’ll throw himself in harms way if it means he’s got a shot at saving you, regardless of how it impacts him (see: Bird of Paradise and a million other eps). He’ll also take extreme measures with very little hesitation if he feels like it’s necessary - he was genuinely about to drink the Lao Mang Lone soup in order to give the others a chance to escape in Time After Time II.
It comes from his hero complex but also the fact that he feels a little inferior, maybe? After being constantly told he’s not good enough, isn’t up to the task etc… he might as well risk his life for other people’s, right? Because they’re more important to him than he is.
I’ve also noticed something recently - when Rai has had enough and calls someone powerful out on their shit, it’s always to help someone else. When did Rai decide enough was enough and open to puzzle box to trap Wuya? When she was about to crush the others. When did he finally stand up to Guan and quit? When Guan started punishing the others for stuff they didn’t do. He’s heroic about when he draws the line - generally, he’ll endure whatever, but put a stop to things when they start affecting his friends.
070. What about your character is cowardly?
He can be a coward about feelings. He’ll avoid talking about them, acknowledging them, heck, he’ll even try to not feel them. They’re confusing and they can hurt and there’s nothing he can do about them a lot of the time and he hates it. Yeah, he’s definitely cowardly about his feelings.
I don’t know if I’d strictly label it as cowardice, but I guess you could also say how he responds to failure. He’s insecure. If he’s failed badly enough, he’s likely to completely bail (usually temporarily, but still). For example, I hc that a big part of the reason he left the temple is that he was scared he was gonna be kicked out and so he left before they had a chance to. It’s kind of a pride thing. Also, sometimes he’ll avoid trying in the first place if he’s scared he’ll fail. Because, hey, if you don’t try, you can’t fail, right???

025. What do they consider beautiful in others personality-wise?
{{ Redwood admires a strong-will. He admires people, who allow nothing to stop them. He admires people, who after having the world throw everything against them, they still fight on. }}
026. What do they consider ugly in others personality-wise?
{{ Irresponsibility, being one such trait. Redwood believes one should be responsible for their actions. Someone who runs away from that, who refuses to claim liability, is cowardly. Redwood doesn’t like that. }}
068. How strong is your character’s sense of responsibility? What kinds of things trigger it?
{{ Redwood’s responsibility is strong for the most part. Whenever something {or someone} is trusted underneath his protection, Redwood takes his tasks seriously. Before The Great War, Redwood was a colonel with The United States Army. As an officer, Redwood was trusted with the lives of countless men underneath his authority. He understands the burden of responsibility. Sufficed to say, underneath Redwood’s protection, he’ll do whatever is necessary to safeguard his objective. }}
094. Name three things most would not expect your character to be able to know.
{{ Redwood knows his way around computers. He’s read up on the subject, over the past few decades. }}
{{ Redwood understands psychology. He employs his know-how whenever dealing with his enemies. }}
{{ Redwood understands automotive mechanics. Before The War, Redwood was an avid car enthusiast. He understands his way around cars, including the complex parts inside them. }}

031. Are they superstitious about anything?
i wouldn’t say cayde is necessarily superstitious tbh. the ace of spaces, which is a big symbol for him, can be seen as an omen and sign as bad luck, but it can also be seen as a symbol of transformation and can represent having faith in others, forgiveness and unconditional love, which tbh describes his character very well.
035. What is the most important rule your character lives by?
the vanguard dare is the big obvious one, but cayde also has plenty of rules he keeps to himself. the most important one is working for the good of everyone. despite his complaints and jokes about it, he does take being vanguard very seriously. he doesn’t want to just be there for his hunters, but for every single guardian and non-guardian alike. cayde makes a point to make it be known that he’s there to help anyone, anytime. he’s the person you can always, always go to, be it for advice (which, he’s actually pretty good at although he pretends he’s not) or the need for an extra hand in a fight.
i’ll talk about this more later, but cayde ( despite being the disaster he is ) is actually pretty good with people. he knows when to back off and really stop talking, even though it doesn’t seem like it. he’s your friend, and he’ll always be there for you when you need it -- even if it means sneaking off from the tower and prompting a whole lecture from zavala.
068. How strong is your character’s sense of responsibility? What kinds of things trigger it?
oh it’s extreme lmao. cayde isn’t afraid to take matters into his own hands, and even more unafraid to do dangerous tasks alone. he’ll take any burden he can lift off others. like i said before, he actually takes his duty of vanguard very seriously, and will do anything to help anyone who needs it. if a mission or task goes wrong or fails, he’ll always find a way to blame himself.

067 . does your character believe in fate or destiny ?
no , because she has suffered immensely && does not believe that suffering has an inherent meaning or necessity . if she believed in destiny , then that would mean in turn that she && everyone else who’s memories are so saturated by trauma had to experience what they did for some objectively ' correct ’ purpose . in the AU where she is forced to acknowledge the concept of ‘ fate ’ , toothiana rebels to such a point that she cuts herself free && takes on the universal role of defying it as a chaotic force of empathy .
068 . how strong is your character’s sense of responsibility ? what kinds of things trigger it?
toothiana has an extremely heavy sense of responsibility weighing on her shoulders , it is simply not a sense of morality rooted completely in humanity which is what can often give the impression of her being very aloof or even cruel . as a child any thoughts of ending her life out of despair were smothered away by a feeling of responsibility to carry on the legacy of her parents && ancestors && that still serves as a driving force to her hyper-vigilance . now as a guardian of childhood she feels responsible for helping to keep elements of childhood thriving on a grand scale , which is why she so frequently fights her empathetic urge towards individual acts of justice in favor of very holistic work from a distance . as the queen of memories , being one of the few entities which can work with memories in the manner she does , she feels that responsibility to keep them safe && ‘ alive ’ as well . unfortunately guilt is an exceptionally powerful driving force for all of it , but prior to all the trauma she was forced to endure , toothiana was an earnestly good child who would have certainly grown into some of the same senses of responsibility she has today , in some healthier manners .
069 . what about your character is heroic ?
the very fact that she still drives to be a positive force in a world that made no such impression of doing the same on her childhood is what i find to be most admirable about her character . while going out of her way to make others suffer in exchange would naturally be unjustified , i do not think she owes anything to anybody else either , especially not humanity as a whole .
i do not think it is necessary to be a good person , but i do think it takes a very specific kind of heroism to still see anything worth striving to protect through trauma .
070 . what about your character is cowardly ?
i hesitate to refer to anything that has been shaped by those traumas as ‘ cowardly ’ for the same reason that i would not claim the above mentioned to be necessary to be considered ‘ brave ’ , but toothiana’s extreme hesitation to trust others is born of a desire to avoid facing certain fears , as are some of her very general compartmentalizations && self-destructive behaviors ( overworking , thrill-seeking that directly conflicts with her over-tuned survival instinct , isolation , etc . ) .
i don’t think these make someone cowardly on their own , but because she will actively choose a harmful behavior that feels more familiar over a more beneficial one that is uncomfortable through its defiance of routine , sometimes to the detriment of not only herself but the people she cares about , i feel it’s safe to say these decisions are made through cowardice .
065 . is your character better at leading or following ? which do they prefer ?
i suppose it depends on what you are looking for , because toothiana fills leading positions very well with her mixed practice in holistic outlooks && individual empathy , organizational skills , multi-tasking && so on , but she is also very good at simply Getting Shit Done™ so if she says she will do something for you , you can feel at peace that she intends to do so by any satisfactory means available . it makes her a fantastic asset to have under your authority .
in most aspects of life toothiana prefers to lead however . it feels safer , lack of control can be difficult for her to accept given the devastating outcomes it has had in the past . we’ve seen that she will pick an option to go about things alone if it is available ; isolating herself completely within punjam hy loo with only the company of her faeries && the memories she protects certainly leads to getting a lot done very efficiently , but i already went on enough about decisions made out of cowardice . . .
@defensator ♢ some character development questions i forgot about .
