put your clothes back on. we're gonna talk about how folklore, evermore and ttpd (taylor swift's token sad albums) reflect on the three spirits from a Christmas Carol. (STAY WITH ME NOW)

folklore talks about the happy past and nostalgia of it with songs like seven, cardigan, invisible string, illicit affairs, betty, august, epiphany, while evermore mirrors the ghost of present christmas, with a tendency to swing between happiness and misery, with songs like it's time to go, coney island, happiness, gold rush, long story short, tolerate it, and evermore, and an overall feeling of acceptance and letting time pass by like it's supposed to be, thus evermore being an album on healing (almost like taylor was preparing for something she knew was coming?? idk). Finally, TTPD reflects the ghost of future christmas, but not in the way folklore and evermore do. in the tale, the ghost of future christmas warns scrooge about an imminent although avoidable catastrophe for scrooge. TTPD is the bad outcome, the "avoidable catastrophe" that makes Taylor talk about what could've been in a lot of her songs, such as i look in people's windows, the prophecy, loml, fortnight, peter, how did it end, cososom and many more, while also having an "outsider perspective" on this, with the song Cassandra, talking about how she was warned, she knew the whole time, but she said nothing, and she regrets it (disclaimer this is just a theory that i came up with, I am not trying to say anything about Taylor or her intentions with those three albums, I just noticed some coincidential similarities and wanted to share with the swifties). Moreover, all of those albums have songs that hint to their other "variants", folklore with 'The 1', an acceptance song, and 'exile', talking about how she knows what happens next, evermore with 'right where you left me' being a song about freezing in time and going back to that moment again and again, and "long story short" both belonging on evermore and TTPD's role, talking about an event without the feeling of that event, but only rather with an 'it is what it is' feeling behind it, and TTPD with songs like I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can) talking about an attempt to change future events and 'Fresh Out The Slammer' with the same "it is what it is" feeling as 'long story short'.
