Kinda stopped doing my reactions to the new TAZ episodes here. But???? The end of episode 18!? Taako!? The Hunger!? Oh this is going to be good. Plus the intro to 19! (I am about time listen to I was an episode behind).

The fact that apparently story and song actually happened in the plane of thought (I think it was) is funny enough. The fact that most of their names are wrong is even funnier.

and how the characters of john and johann are foils, in a way

how both characters had their ideas spread throughout the multiverse, whose ideas were heard by everyone, who showed what power a word or a story or a song could have on the world

how john started off as a motivational speaker, meant to spread hope and satisfaction. how johann's first appearance showed him as unsatisfied and hopeless, meant to be forgotten.

Everyone complaining about how the new TAZ stuff will never be as good as Balance can finally shut up now that Taako is in Steeplechase. Or, at least, some guy in a cheep wig is. I haven’t even finalized my designs for the trio but I had to draw this immediately after ep 18. Also, Beef gets to wear Magnus’ armor! My headcannon that Beef and Magnus look nearly identical is one step closer to reality!

Something I find interesting is Travis wasn't actually the one that said Magnus threatened to kill Lucas if he ever saw him again

That was a joke Griffin made about Magnus still being trapped under the mirror, and it was directed at MAUREEN, not Lucas

The closest other things to that were these two parts from ch7 and ch11

The first screenshot, Lucas is like nowhere near them at that point

And I guess the second screenshot kind of canonizes the joke Griffin made? Because Lucas referenced it and Magnus was like "no promises" but some people treat it as this whole big thing when honestly it really wasn't

And while I'm typing this I thought of something else so two prawnderings in one !

I really don't think Magnus actually HATED Lucas past the confrontation and it was more of like a heat of the moment thing and also the fact Lucas did what Magnus couldn't - bring a loved one back

He treated him like. normally in every exchange after that

Gonna talk about the San Diego liveshow and I KNOOOWWWW it's ambiguously canon but also even then still like. You know. Would Magnus really let Lucas put a brain spike in his and his friends' heads and put them in the fucking Matrix if he wasn't at LEAST neutral on him

(Also the "anymore" implies they let him do science to them at other points too)

I seriously do not think Magnus actually had real beef with Lucas after tck and some people in the fandom reaaaallyyyyyy play it up and their relationship is kind of this whole game of telephone in the fandom because from what I've seen everyone is entirely uninterested in relistening to Crystal Kingdom or the two liveshows Lucas is in

And some act like Magnus genuinely wanted to kill him when in the San Jose liveshow he was like EXPLICITLY told to kill Lucas and then he didn't
