to me, the most fascinating (and utterly unintentional) feature of TAZ Balance's narrative structure is the way that on the first listen, Tres Horny Boys are the audience surrogates because they, much like us, have no idea what the fuck is going on, but on all subsequent relistens, then Lucretia, and sometimes Barry, and arguably especially Lup in the umbrella become the new audience stand-ins, because just like us, they are, in fact, painfully aware of what the fuck is going on :)

merle and lucretia's friendship is so very good and extremely underrated. like during the lunar interludes but especially during stolen century. the way merle spent their last night on their home plane making sure lucretia was safe at the bar, the way clint always seems to jump at the chance to bring lucretia along for whatever merle's doing that cycle, the little talk when she's still quiet and shy but he tells her he thinks she could make a great leader. i love this crunchy dad trying to gently convince this quiet little perfectionist to come out of her shell, and her reciprocating that friendship in her own way.

Ok I’m relistening to the Adventure Zone Balance campaign for the first time since finishing it originally, and I just got to the part where the Director makes them go through the initiation robot fight where the Tres Horny Boys very easily could have gotten their shit absolutely wrecked, and like, hey Lucretia, what the fuck? What the actual fuck was that for?
