Neglecting this aspect of training is sure to leave you stranded in deep waters trying to support muscles and outputs your body just can’t handle. So this happened today. I had shoulder surgery finally to repair my #rotatorcuff tear and reattach my #rupturedbicep tendon. The tendon repair failed and will continue to be ruptured. However my #surgeon said the rest of the surgery went very well. I will be doing therapy of course but am looki g for some advice on #workingout and #liftingweights I obviousely can lift currently but am asking anyone who had or knows about #shouldersurgery and is into #crossfit or any others to assist in maximizing my #recovery and #rehab i am a #brandambassador @fnx_fit I believe in thier products and motivational nature of the company itself as well as the generosity they give in aid to those in dire need of water to survive. Thats just one of the reasons i agreed to be an ambassador. That being said i am wanting to start some #vitamins and #supplements and will be going through #fnxfitness for all my needs. I would like to hesr from anyone who has been through this, is a #lifter or just has some advice. Sorry about the long post here, but i just had surgery about 8 hours ago and am ready to start this recorvery. There is a quantifiable difference between working out and training, being comfortable and creating an adaptation. Training is a systematic approach to achieve the adaptations needed to optimize your performance as an athlete. Working is just that, work out, break a sweat, and go home. ——————————————————————— The human body won’t adapt if the stimulus placed ok it is not outside of the comfort zone. Speed/Power block - for @dezm80 finishing up with a bit of conditioning. After completing 8x1 on the Sumo Deadlifts at 60%, and all the special exercises, Dez completed 3 rounds of a 5 minute AMRAP circuit. 1 minutes of kettlebells swings (Soviet style), 1 minutes on the assault bike, 1 minute of box jumps, 1 minute of Push ups, and 1 minute of rotational ball slams; rest 1 minute, and repeat for three rounds. —————————————————————- As noted in my previous post, conditioning is important, but so is the type of conditioning and the adaptation achieved during the specific phase of camp or season. Always keep in mind the heart rate adaptations. When we hear the term “Strength & Conditioning” we need to remember that there are two parts to the concept, and one of those is conditioning. Our bodies need to be well conditioned to support the demand of any given sport. We can’t just be strong and expect to perform explosively, recover and perform explosively again if our cardiovascular system cannot efficiently use oxygen and remove waste before our next bout of intensity. —————————————————————————- The goal here is to improve repeated sprint ability (RSA) which is our ability to perform multiple bouts of intensity as optimally as possible and reducing the decrease in performance for each bout. Secondly we need to improve our alactic capacity so that our bodies can buffer lactate in skeletal muscle therefore prolonging the time until fatigue sets in. We should also note how fast of heart rate can come down during rest, that’s the adaptation we will probably first notice. ————————————————————————— Make sure to pick exercises with high dynamic correspondence. You may have seen us using something like battle ropes, prowler sprints, and the assault bike. These can be done in intervals of 6-10 seconds of all out work, and 20 seconds of active rest, like shadow boxing.
