artem’s codename is really good i enjoy it a lot i think its very fitting but also it’s very funny that hes just not a libra. i know libra is not JUST the sign but whatever…….. 

So im imagining MC saying "you know, he's not really a libra…" probably to another NXX member and definitely as a joke and artem overhears. he can't decide between being offended on the principle of being called unfit for something or being confused by what she means so he hides his troubled expression with a mug of a warm drink so she doesn't take his heavy frown personally. she's too busy laughing (is it at him? he hopes it's not at him) with whoever she’s talking to to notice either way.

he confronts (can u call it confronting if he essentially lingers quietly by the door frame for 10 minutes psyching himself up first??) her on her lunch break like a week later to ask for clarification because, surely, if she doesn't think he fits the name libra it must mean he's somehow failed at making fair judgements on their cases and he’s not seeing things rationally and impartially and, obviously, as a professional and her partner he wants to know what he can work on and—

he stays silent.

mc learns an important lesson. artem does not know very much about the zodiac.

artem looks up the signs. the browser suggests "sign compatibility" and he has a staring contest with the search result, a battle raging between his curiosity vs. heavy handed shame at falling prey to superstition like that.

(he looks up a chart between taurus and every other sign. you know. for posterity. it's all fake anyways. 

his cursor lingers over the rating between their signs before he promptly shuts the tab and calls it a night.)
