So, Dean DeBlois returning to direct a live action HTTYD. I’m honestly really concerned. He stated he doesn’t want to return to the franchise after the third movie and he’s not a fan of live-action remakes. So, unless the story revolves around Bork the Bold’s timeline, I’m pretty scared on how that’s gonna turn out.
Given as I don't have an interest in a live action regardless, and given how most live action adaptations have been going lately (soulless shadows), I don't think any name at the helm would garner my trust. They can make their mediocre "realistic" production. Maybe it'll go into development hell (probably not but one can hope). Maybe a miracle happens and audiences will learn to stay away from live action reproductions like this and we'll quit greenlighting them (probably not but one can hope). Either way, I vote you don't have to watch it, and in that, you don't have find out how it turns out.
