TWST APOCALYPSE AU.

ᴛʜᴇ ᴏᴠᴇʀʙʟᴏᴛ ᴠɪʀᴜꜱ — a horrifying infection that has existed for centuries. it doesn't appear to be contagious (yet), but it has devastating effects on those who fall ill with it. it appears to manifest from within a mage, but researchers at S.T.Y.X. note there are external and internal factors that contribute to the speed at which it spreads. it may be possible to treat an infected individual, but it is difficult if not caught by the second stage and requires immense patience, effort, and resources. the virus appears to deteriorate both the body and mind, rendering the infected a mindless monster after a certain period of time.

it is recommended that you avoid those who are beyond saving, for they are highly dangerous!

ᴄᴏᴍᴍᴏɴ ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ — officially identified by the lead research team at S.T.Y.X., these are indicators that one has been infected. [please note that case-specific symptoms, while rare but not undocumented, seem to manifest in especially skillful mages.]

STAGE 1.

little to no immediate changes or symptoms. patient appears mostly fine. they may not even realize they are infected at first and will only complain of feeling itchy or irritable. magestone has just begun to tarnish.

STAGE 2.

common symptoms begin to emerge and will only worsen with time. magestone slowly accumulates blot. fingertips will have begun to blacken. minor headaches stretch on into longer periods of time and grow to be more painful. patient may appear uncharacteristically volatile. blot eats away at the patient's magic reserves. it will spread quicker depending on how much magic is overused and if the patient shows extreme emotional distress. patient develops a cough.

STAGE 3.

patient will begin to see and hear things. S.T.Y.X. named these shadow apparitions phantoms. patient may cast a shadow (phantom) that is not their own. staining on the patient's fingertips will have spread further through the fingers by this point. magestone is very cloudy. patient is prone to coughing fits. patient is unable to recognize bodily cues for hunger or exhaustion. feelings of emptiness persist. patient may experience a stabbing sensation in their chest or stomach areas. patient may not seem very emotionally or mentally present. spotty memory; they struggle to recall what or why they are doing certain things. patient appears almost lost. patient's body undergoes various external and internal changes: loss of appetite, stained fingertips, rotting gums, weakened teeth and bone structures, tears and saliva take on the consistency and color of blot, inability to fall asleep, etc. the blot eats away at the patient from the inside after magic reserves have been depleted. patient is dying.

STAGE 4.

magestone is consumed by blot and is no longer safe to use. patient's internal structures are compromised and failing. blot sustains the patient; they become a host for the blot, which acts almost like a parasite. patient is no longer conscious or living. peculiar structures like extra limbs or unusual growths sprout from and deform the body. it is consumed by blot. the air around the infected patient is thick with a high concentration of blot. patient only speaks in guttural growls and struggles with certain syllables. some are capable of coherent, intelligent speech, but in many cases communication and language are usually lost, as is the memory of who they once were. S.T.Y.X. has yet to identify the lifespan of an overblot (the term coined for those who have succumbed to the infection), as some overblots can exist for a very long time. at this stage, an overblot patient is highly dangerous and hostile. avoid contact at all costs. [additional research on this stage and others is currently being conducted.]

So you guys know how big corporations like to buy smaller companies only to run them into the ground? I can image that happening with Sun and Moon, or at least what could have happened for them to work as daycare attendants.

I mean they do look very different from the other animatronics at the Pizzaplex. They move differently, they have a different endoskeleton and overall they look out of place.

So what if they belonged to a smaller robotics company that weren't earning enough money to cover their costs? Fazbears bought them, changed its name and the original owners moved to do something else. Fazbears then tried to make it work, failed, and ended up disbanding the branch they bought when it too didn't make them a profit.

And because they didn't profit there was no reason for them to invest in Sun and Moon. They were also repurposed as the Daycare Attendant when when the Pizzaplex opened and Fazbears coild cut corners with preexisting bots.

They're outdated but, as long as they aren't earning money, Fazbears has no intention of fixing that.

so writing fic made me think about Piers having a prosthetic arm and like, the c virus is regenerative, right? it’s fucked up regeneration but regeneration nonetheless, he tore his whole arm off and got a whole new one back.

so I’m thinking about BSAA doctors trying to remove the arm and it just keeps coming back, a slightly different kind of fucked up each time. they research and experiment on ways to suppress the virus with hopes they can remove the persistent limb for good, so that Piers can have a (relatively) normal amputation, but they never quite kick it. so when they finally suppress the virus to some degree and fit the prosthetic arm, his right ribcage and shoulder reconstructed, the whole thing fancy carbon fibre and robotic fingers, the virus just… slowly reclaims. skin starts growing over, weaving into the machinery, nerves tentatively latching on. the delicate electronics crack and misfire under the onslaught but it doesn’t matter now, the flesh is relearning how to flex and control. the virus is stronger than anything the researchers could have made. the pulses of electricity the doctors were never able to completely quell now go towards powering the pistons. the infection uses everything the BSAA built as a blueprint for it’s own function.

Piers wakes up in the hospital and can see his abomination of an arm has been replaced with another, all torn skin and exposed metal, human-shaped but at what cost? the virus is still a part of him, has even gifted him a limb he can use and flex. and he hates it.

I was actually trying to write something when I got the notification lol.

Listen I am not a writer so this probably isn't the best. 😅 It's mainly just descriptions.

The sour smell of mold eating away at any exposed surface, slowly encroaching through out the skeleton of an isolated wing. It’s doors barred shut from the main body of the building, wooden boards haphazardly nailed in place showing its age with their splintering grain. The tile, once spotless and waxed, now broken and crunch under each foot fall. 

Deep clean sanitation chambers, revered for their excellent sterilization, harbor clouds of spores from the trapped moisture. Glass panels looking into the main room, all smashed long ago, long since dried blood littered what remaining shards still stood on the frames edges. Thin streams of rainfall finding its home in the crevices of high tech computers and machines left to rust away in the humid tropical weather.

Memories of snarling teeth and rotten meat still connected to something living. Loud screams and festering wounds, desperate pleads for help to no avail. Quick claws and cut lines. All still haunt the one remaining occupant of this rotting corpse that housed the products of genetic achievements. A single soul slinking through the backdrop of this waking nightmare

And what if we were wrong from the beginning? What if Ruin Eclipse was never good in his universe? He is the fusion of Sun and a Moon corrupted by the Kill code, would it make sense that now that he is "Free of the virus", he would simply remain a dangerous manipulator, but less crazy?

I mean, like to be fair they do change things up once a while. (EI killcode supposedly getting a new body but thats not happening i see) So maybe couldve been part of Ruin's character at the beginning but then the Game came out and hes baby in that game and they know. Most fans come from the game too so... i would say maybe yeah he would be 'free of the virus' as you say. Maybe in terms of being free of creator influence. Personally I think having both Ruin and Eclipse in the same body would make more sense since... again this happens a lot for these guys. Plus would be Creator like to not have as fulllll cure afterall. Just a 'suppressor' (I wonder where we've seen this before)
