1. What would Carmen wear if the Lackadaisy time period was set to the modern present we are now today or like Lackadaisy modern au? Like what types of clothes genre she'll wear, also will her personality remains exact same?

2. You said in some post your lmk oc Ling is a next generation could you explain further about it? Is there some facts about her? (What's her relationship like to other characters?)

oh, Carmen would wear all sorts of stuff!- cottagecore? She'd wear it. Alternative? She'd wear it. Basically Carmen would wear anything with color because she feels like around her there isn't any (She also would probably rock Techware). I don't think Carmen wouldn't remain the same however, due to the setting, and how inflation is happening in America right now, I'd say Carmen would be more tired to do anything and slowly become an introvert.

As for the next gen, let me explain!-

This takes place you know, 10-20 years after LMK has ended, and all the main characters either retired (like pigsy and Tang) while others may have children ( AKA ship children-) during this time, Ling was born. However, Ling is a OC X OC child because i didn't think any of my LMK ocs would get together with the main cast.

Anyway, relationship with the main cast!-

Ling knows MK, Mei and Redson through friends of her's, but also because they all got pretty famous from saving the world multiple times.

Ling does know Macaque since her paretns visit him sometimes (they know he's pretty lonely) so Ling does sometimes call Macaque uncle.

She dosent know Sun Wukong though-

Which fashion subculture I think different genshin characters would be a part of

A random selection (Modern au)

Xiao: it's between techware, generally alt fashion or just staight up ancient ass clothing from 15th century liyue. In my head he does both depending on the day with no inbetween.

Albedo: Dark academia. Just... Straight up.... dark academia. Has never worn something with a hood because "it doesn't go well with his labcoat" but really just hates the feeling.

Childe: I cannot imagine him in anything but grey sweatpants and fucking anime t-shirts. I'm sorry... I don't know why...

but make it Barbatos. Enough said. If barbatos exists in canon this would be the fashion equivalent. Come on, he larps as himself in fucking canon!

Scaramouche: Closeted E-Girl fashion enjoyer. Day to day he mostly just dresses like a standard emo guy, except for the giant ass hat. Loooooot of accessories, I feel like he'd have a couple of piercings and a bunch of tattos.

Kaeya: I have to include him I really do! I just... I can't find a fashion style that suits him. I'm gonna throw at you E-Girl and Slutty Dark Academia and you decide which fits him best.

Do you have a backstory for cuphead and mugman in the cyberpunk au?? Also what aesthetic is the cyber punk mostly based on or is it just only cyberpunk???

Ok I don’t think I really have a lot for Cuphead and Mugman’s backstory it’s pretty much like OG IM. Cup and Mugs gambled their souls tried to get their souls back, lost, becomes trained by Black Hat, and they become hit men working for the Devil bringing us to when they join the quest. The only major thing I can think of in terms of differences from that story line would be how they got their cyberware so I guess I’ll explain that.

Simply put there was a mission that went wrong when they were about 13 and 16 years old. They weren’t expecting explosives on the mission so cup and mugs woke up days later both missing an arm, cup losing an eye, and Hat and Flug barely managing to salvage Mug’s eye. Thankfully, Dr. Flug and Hat work/invent a lot of cyberware tech so the cupbos were quickly set up with cyberware. Eventually, Cuphead got an AI program installed in his cyberware. The AI is called Chalice (the Devil chose the name as a cruel joke) and she works as kind of a personal assistant to Cuphead and Mugman. Cuphead hates her. Mugs doesn’t mind her. That would have been a year later max after the explosion.

Now. Second question. Which, honestly, I cussing loved this one. This was so much fun to answer. Ok, so, in terms of aesthetics it depends on the location: Hell, the Surface, and the Upper. (Yes I had to look up what the different types of aesthetics are, bear with me. Please.)

For Hell its mostly steampunk/steelpunk inspired in general. I guess it also has some kind of a dark academia/victorian vibe to it. Hell is industrial, dark, dirty, and crude. Pipes and machines are everywhere making up its entire world in a Feísmo aesthetic for buildings and architecture and things. Think of it like the Surface and Upper are much more advanced than Hell, Hell was stuck in the steampunk era because of lack of resources and its seclusion from the rest of the world. So. It’s old, barely functioning, and depressing.

On the Surface you have two different types of settings that are the most important in terms of IM and the cyberpunk AU in general. The city and not the city. (this being places like Sillyvision and the Inkwell Isles.) For the non-city areas its not nearly as technologically advanced as in the city. They still have modern technology but it blends into suburban living. I imagine something kinda vintage and retro. Like retro-futurism, atompunk, technocore, old web. You know. Vintage. I guess.

Now in the city is probably what everyone wants to know. For this I have just a modge-podge of aesthetics. In general I think its cybergrunge. For the tech elements its some variations of abstract tech, nanopunk, and hacker core, obviously. For clothing I took major inspiration from techware styles. Other aesthetics I used in majority were things like arcadecore, raver, glowwave, synthwave, neo-Tokyo, urbancore, and citypop. It’s a lot. I know.

Now the Upper looks almost completly opposite of Hell and the Surface. Pretty much Solarpunk/cyberparadism in majority. I guess I also used some aspects of bloomcore and cloudcore too. This place is supposed to be a utopian ‘paradise’.

In Summary:

Hell: Steampunk/steelpunk, Feísmo, Dark academia, Victorian

Surface out of city: Vintage, Suburban, Retro-futurism, Atompunk, Technocore, Old web

Surface in city: Cybergrunge, Abstract tech, Nanopunk, Hackercore, Techware, Arcadecore, Raver, Glowwave, Synthwave, Neo-Tokyo, Urbancore, Citypop

Upper: Solarpunk/cyberparadism, Bloomcore, Cloudcore

Constance is gonna be so confused and pissed off when she experiences misogyny for the first time

Teen!Sticky wears techware (idk how to spell)

Kate has no filter and accidentally tells people EVERYTHING

Sticky and Constance are those siblings who act like they don’t know each other at school

Martina threatens to kick Kate off the team every time they get into a minor disagreement but kates never actually scared

Kate has a super high pain tolerance

Constance has a super low pain tolerance and cries tears of anger every time she gets hurt

Reynie is super flexible and will sometimes just casually fold in half and everybody else is just like “what😀”

I’m order of height they are: Sticky(5’11.5), SQ(5’10.5), Kate(5’9), Martina(5’7.5), Reynie(5’6 but 5’7 with his favorite shoes on), Constance(barely 5’2 and bitter about it)

Reynie is super photogenic. So photogenic.

Constance is hates(is mildly afraid of) large birds and refuses to meet Kates bird, Madge

Reynie is super bad at arithmetic. Like my man can perfectly understand the concepts behind algebra, but will stare at “14*7/12” for twenty minutes

Sticky has really long lashes and Constance has always secretly wondered what he would look like with mascara on

Reynie had that wispy pubescent mustache (you know what I’m talking about) and ms. Perumal had to beg him to shave it off

This is really long btw, I jump topics a bit so I tried to break up the walls of text as the topic changes! 😅

So a few hours after reading Click, I ended up watching Donnie Darko for a paper. So hopefully my theory doesnt stray too far! But before we found out who that imposter was, I wasnt sure if it was Albedo going evil or not (thankfully not bc of how much I relate to him! That would fuck w me for a couple days lmao), but I def got the feeling that the whopperflower was not the end, that this situation is not as cut and dry as it seems. And I suspect mhy is kinda putting in some hints to Durin, but I do think it is Durin impersonating Albedo!

So I redid Albedo's story quest on my alt account for the event, and the mysterious sediment that was left behind in the potion bottle traveler drank- Albedo tested first. I think that sediment came from Albedo, because he had exposure to festering desire

(I dont remember if traveler was the only one to not be affected by the sword or if Albedo was too). Since that is inextricably linked to Durin, I think he was able to somehow manifest into Albedo in a sense???

(While the festering desire event isnt apart of Albedo's story quest, it should be, cuz I think that is too important, just like the unreconciled stars event, even tho I was playing during that event I'm still salty we can't play it grr)

But my friend had a really neat theory that the fake Albedo was actually a harbinger before we learned of the flower! I thought it was so cool I had to share (with his permission of course.) I'm def gonna draw that one day...when I figure out how to draw Xiao lmao (i'm restarting the doodle I keep mentioning cuz I keep not liking it RIP)

And because of Donnie Darko, I cant help but think of a time traveler au with our dear alchemist jskjsk - time traveler albedo is def getting a techware or sci fi outfit when I draw him too!

OOO THIS IS SO INTERESTING!! :O Both your theory and your friend’s theory have made me very curious! Also, a time traveler au with Albedo… 👀 I absolutely love the idea of him having a techware outfit!!! It’s just too good. If you ever draw it, please show me because I’d really like to see it! If that’s okay with you, of course. :D

But I also have major Albedo brain rot! We have been fed well with this event. I rambled to a friend about the ending of part three of the quest and aaaa!! It left me with way too many thoughts and emotions and ideas. I had to spit all of them out because there was so much in my mind. Even though my friend doesn’t play Genshin and probably didn’t understand most of what I rambled about, we both agreed that Albedo <3.

Hair: Black, long, usually a mess and often has at least one (1) leaf or piece of grass in it

Eyes: LIght blue

Height: 5′1/2″

Body type: Slender and fine-boned. Muscle tone is there but not obvious. Jesse often thinks of her as a living doll (privately, because she fucking hates it when he does).

Scars: Pretty much a full-body affair. At the start of Midnight Star: web of small scars around her left eye, the word DEVIL carved/burned into the side of her neck in Russian, scars across her thighs and back from repeated childhood beatings, big ol’ claw marks down her belly from a failed suicide attempt by bear, bullet wound in each shoulder, self-inflicted bite marks on her hands and forearms because my girl does not know how to regulate her emotions. Clothing style: When left to her own devices, typically loose-fitting clothing, generally second-hand jeans and whatever t-shirts she can find in the Goodwill bargain bin. This drives Jesse insane and he insists on supplementing her wardrobe with a whole lot of expensive designer stuff that she rarely touches unless he pressures her into it. Pretty much the only thing they readily agree on is lots of black.

(If Marena had the inclination to develop a personal sense of style she’d probably best be classed as something between goth, punk, and techware, but she has a difficult time coming to grips with the idea that she can draw attention without it ending in assault, so she dresses mostly for comfort. Secretly, she quite likes the outfits Jesse picks out as long as he’s not putting her in lace or one of the deep-cut dresses he loves so much, but she’ll never tell him because one of the cornerstones of their relationship is antagonizing each other as much as possible.)

Weapons/killing style

Before she met Jesse, Marena was basically a melee fighter, using whatever she could get her hands on and often resorting to nails and teeth. Her small size puts her at a disadvantage in a fight, but she’s fast and has a very high pain tolerance - courtesy of her spectacularly shitty childhood - that allows her to take a lot of damage while her opponents wear themselves down.

Chromeskull, of course, would insist on his partner-in-excessive-amounts-of-crime having some elegance and pizazz, so she starts properly training in knife fighting once she becomes his girlfriend. After he buys her a sword, she develops a fascination with dismemberment and beheading, as well as “death by a thousand cuts” type torture (which she mainly uses to practice her precision maneuvering. A girl’s gotta practice her craft, y’know).

She still bites. A lot. She didn’t sharpen her teeth for nothing.

Personality

Marena is a rather prickly and cantankerous person who does not get along well with most others. If we’re being extremely kind and understating, she was... poorly socialized as a child. She automatically assumes that everyone she meets wants and is going to hurt her, both physically and emotionally, so she shoves them away as hard as possible to save herself that pain.

On the other hand, she genuinely does not give a fuck about people’s opinions of her. After all, it doesn’t matter if the person you assume is going to literally torture you thinks you’re awkward. She has a basic understanding of action-consequence in the context of social situations but generally chooses to ignore it. She’s no Billy Lenz, but she has no compunctions about smashing a glass over your head if you try to flirt with her. (She’s been kicked out of... a lot of bars.)

Her sense of humor mostly consists of saying weird things with such an incredibly straight face that you just accept them before doing a mental double-take. Some of her favorites are “We don’t have [extremely common item] in Russia” and telling people that she doesn’t speak English, in English, before returning to the conversation that she is also having in English. She is the sort of person who will get out of a text conversation by telling you, via text, that she lost her phone.

Her only friend was beaten to death in front of her and almost all of her human interactions up until the age of 18 or so started, ended, or otherwise included someone hitting her. She’s bad at feelings. She bites herself when she gets overwhelmed. She casually drops tidbits from her upbringing that make you immediately worry about her mental health. She’s dating a serial killer and is more freaked out by the “dating” part than the “serial killer” part. She’s just trying, okay.
