Ted Lasso Season 2 » Paved Court
#Ted Lasso#Shannon Hayes#Jason Sudeikis#Hannah Waddingham#Brendan Hunt#Sarah Niles#*mine: gif#*mine: TL Scene#*mine: TL theory#1k#at the beginning of Season 2 I was thinking about the office scene angle/framing with Ted and other characters gifset I made#with that in my head while watching season 2 I thought this was similar#I'm always interested in the framing and choices for scenes#the first time they go with Shannon here because Beard is having relationship problems#next episode (bonus episode) we have Ted and Rebecca I mean something something relationship going on a date#episode 5 Beard wanting to know the ending of the joke from season 1 about owls something something that's a long time to wait#Dr. Sharon Fieldstone coming to Ted who is having a panic attack...in episode 10#something something relationships with our parents.........#Last episode 12 Ted alone after the article#just breaking these 5 scenes down tells a lot but I had a feeling that first time with Shannon that this alleyway was going to be important#don't get me wrong I giffed Paved Court for season 1 which shows up 5 times there#but those scenes don't feel as big as these ones#I thought about putting all the gifs together in one set but originally I only giffed the season 2 bits#that was where my head was with this but figured I should do season 1 too#so really it was an after thought#wait maybe the season 1 scene here are just as important#or it all means nothing and I just watch things a bit differently#I still have only watched season 2 three ties through and I've lost count on season 1#note to self you still need to make that Coach Beard and Ted set and making a Shannon one

Personal October 🎃Challenge 💙
Tumblr media
saw this on Twitter but feel more comfortable posting on Tumblr 🫣 so please don't mind me reintroducing my baby B and maybe using this as an appreciation post as well 🤭
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
let it be known that i actually share the same first name with my baby Beatrice and i kinda just chose her last name, Hayes, from my writing pseudonym willy-nilly just cuz i was hella excited to start playing Hogwarts Legacy at the time of its release back in Feb. 🎮
Lo and behold, the further i played the game (took me a month to finish my first playthrough of her every night after my 8hour job), a backstory for Beatrice started coming up in my mind. 🤔
Suddenly, Beatrice Hayes wasn't my in-game avatar anymore but more like a younger sibling id protecc at all cost (yes, i am one of those players who played dress up with their MCs and even leave her back in the safety of her dormroom after each play session) 🙃
ive grown unexpectedly attached to her enough to start an actual fanfic (never done that with any fandoms ive been before), with our bois from Slytherin being the final nail and hammer on the coffin of my hyperfixation 😵
Also haven't started a Gryffindor playthrough after all these months (i'll get around to that eventually 😅) but here are my other baby MCs/OCs with my quick HCs of them:
Tumblr media
on my 2nd playthrough, meet MC Cerestina Anguis 🐍 only daughter and youngest to her two, accomplished older brothers, Cersei was considered a 'defect' among her privileged Pureblood family before she came late into her Magic at 15. Motherless and with only a father seeing her as a mere pawn for marriage, Cersei does have moments of vanity, but chooses to rise above it in order to make a name for herself and find independence using her newfound Magic. Unbeknownst to her, Cersei was also promised to Ominis at a young age due to their "shortcomings" while still being of the Pureblood lineage, the young Gaunt himself is none the wiser. They meet at Hogwarts, angst ensues. But that is a story for another time 🤣
Tumblr media
my 3rd MC, Phoebe Fidelis 🦡, is as loyal as any Hufflepuff can come as long as you can stand her chaotic crup energy on most days. Raised in a loving family of Halfbloods consisting of her parents and brothers, Phoebe was mostly content being the "Magicless middle child" until she turned 15. So other than learning to control the lycanthropy that runs in her father's bloodside, she also has to learn to wield this "Ancient Magic"?? So much for catching a break. 🥹
Tumblr media
wanted a baby boi for my House so here's my Ravenclaw OC, Anthony Reinhart, a transferee from Beauxbatons, not much is known of him or his ulterior for coming to Hogwarts, though he may end up being a connection to Beatrice's past... 🤫

My mourning period over Kristen Hannah’s The Four Winds is done and now let’s talk about one of the smallest yet stupidest thing in Supernova that made me want to rip out my hair when I first read it.
What I’m talking about of course, is Moze being Emily’s son.
I have so many questions but my main one is WHY?? I was already drained from trying to think why, narratively speaking, we would have future Emily be in the story but now Moze is apparent her son? Huh? Why couldn’t he be just like a random stonekeeper? What frustrates me the most was this was such a small and stupid thing yet it makes me this mad!
I mostly think it’s because this was the stone that broke the mule’s back for me because I was already sick of all the contradictories in Supernova and this was the final kick.
I feel like Kazu for the most part put that part in for shock value. Let me tell you a lesson my English teacher hammered into me, if a plot twist only real value is to be shocking and doesn’t resolve any problems while creating more problems and questions you don’t plan to answer it’s a fucking stupid plot-twist.
Thank you for my Tedtalk.

I have already mentioned the opus of Ted Templeman consisted of a large amount of credits thanks to him serving as a music producer since the early 70's. For instance, one of his collaborators from the era was Van Morrison. Say all you want about his latest LPs – I would agree with you, by the way –, but we have to admit his 70's remains a strong era for him. The important factor here was definitely Ted Templeman, since he produced three important albums for him during the time, including It's Too Late To Stop Now. I agree, highlighting a live disc might be weird, because you rarely notice who helms them. However, I do think Mr. Templeman had more input into the sound of the platter than the designation of the LP would've lead you to believe.

Not to continue bitching about the finale, but how is Brendan gonna say that they were trying to be subversive, when we were given these endings for 3 of the most important characters?
Ted going back to form a nuclear heterosexual family with his ex-wife and his son
Rebecca reuniting with Boatman and forming a nuclear heterosexual family with him and his daughter
Beard marrying his (abusive!) pregnant girlfriend and forming a nuclear heterosexual family with her and their future child
Don't get me wrong, I do love the Dutchman and being a mother (to a child, not just the team) is something that Rebecca has wanted since season 1, so good for her! But the optics of this are, umm, big yikes! It reads like a conservative Normal Family™ propaganda ending for these 3 main characters. Like some Hayes Code era movie where the audience needs to be reassured that these characters are normal and conform to American values.

Most Beloved WWE Wrestler Tournament: Round 2 Statistics Dump
Followers: 251
Total Votes: 22,087 + 13,398 = 35,485
Times I realized I was not in-depth enough with my checking of wrestlers and forgot at least one which I only found out because I heard an old wrestler was being accused of murder and the name didn't sound familiar so I checked and it turns out he isn't included but have to remind myself that if no one mentioned him being missing from round 1, he probably isn't the most beloved anyway: once, thank god
Beloved By Gender:
We started with a split of 81.7% men to 18.3% women, which moved to 75% men to 25% women after the first round. After the second round of voting, our percentages are:
Tumblr media
Voting Trends:
During round 2, the voting totals ranged from a low of 360 votes per day to 554, with the average rising from 387 votes per day to 462 votes per day (Also I figured out how to add a date marking line how cool is that??)
Tumblr media Tumblr media

Was it good? Or was it just good because Nick was in it?
ok i was waiting until the morning to answer this because i certainly do have a lot of Thoughts. with that said, spoilers under the cut so read at your own risk!!!
the movie feels like your typical romantic comedy. the level of sincerity borderlines cringy, which is perfect for a romantic comedy for this caliber. i had a lot of apprehensions about this movie because of its reputation and what its based on, but knowing the movie came from the guy (michael showalter) from wet hot american summer kind of gave me a sense of ease going into this movie.
of course i love nick's acting, don't get me wrong, but anne hathaway really carried the entire thing. it was basically a coming-of-age story but in the sense that it was solene coming to terms with her age and understanding that happiness doesn't need to stop when you reach 40.
some of the lines were so bad that i wondered why i was watching in the first place ("Why would you break up with a talented, kind feminist?") but the sincerity in the characters holds so much weight and i truly loved how they handled the whole older woman/younger man romance that didn't make it feel so predatory.
also i gotta say, the music is so good. i am a moonhead first and a human second.
ok moving onto standout scenes:
yes straight sex scenes are so overdone and can be incredibly vanilla, but i honestly loved the way the colors would change to signify solene feeling everything - a callback to the painting that she shows hayes. and hayes acquiring that painting to show how much he loves her is so adlkflkdajf
the scene where nick channels tom cruise in risky business also had to be the hottest scene i have ever seen. even hotter than the sex.
the scene where daniel and solene fight really makes me wonder if hayes only left (with the excuse that oliver got in trouble) because his trauma about his own parents splitting up was forced back to the surface. i wished they unpacked that more because i know this was solene's story.
i am a sucker for two pretty bitches crying, so all the emotional scenes between hayes and solene made my heart hurt (and i actually did shed a few tears). i saw a lot of prince henry in these scenes especially when nick's lgbt eyes made an appearance. those eyes of his deserve an emmy on their own.
the five years later epilogue is cute but so silly because i cannot stand nick's beard/goatee.
BUT OVERALL
yes i loved this movie. yes it mostly had to do with nick. but i love romcoms and silly, fun movies. nick took me in, but hayes and solene made me stay. thank you for coming to my ted talk.
