Unveiling the Secrets of Abu Simbel: Discovering the Marvels of Ancient Egypt Abu Simbel is a temple complex located in the Nubian region of southern Egypt, near the border with Sudan. Built during the reign of Pharaoh Ramesses II over 3,000 years ago, Abu Simbel is one of the most impressive and well-preserved examples of ancient Egyptian architecture. The site consists of two temples, the Great Temple of Ramesses II and the smaller Temple of Hathor, each adorned with intricate carvings and towering statues. Despite its historical significance and architectural grandeur, Abu Simbel remained largely unknown to the outside world until the 19th century when it was rediscovered by European explorers. Today, the site attracts thousands of visitors each year who come to marvel at its stunning temples, explore its rich history, and discover the secrets of ancient Egypt. One of the most remarkable features of Abu Simbel is its astronomical alignment. The temple complex was designed to align with the rising sun twice a year, on the pharaoh's birthday and coronation day, illuminating the inner sanctum and highlighting the power of Ramesses II. A visit to Abu Simbel is a journey through time, offering a unique opportunity to witness the glory of ancient Egypt and the ingenuity of its people. From the towering statues of Pharaoh Ramesses II to the ornate columns and hallways, Abu Simbel is a true wonder of the world, and a must-see destination for anyone interested in history, architecture, or culture. #AbuSimbel #AncientEgypt #RamessesII #TempleComplex #NubianRegion #Archaeology #HistoricalWonders #TravelEgypt #BucketListDestination #ExploreTheWorld #AstronomicalAlignment #Hieroglyphics #TempleofHathor #GreatTempleofRamessesII #Statues #DiscoverEgypt #MustSeeDestination #WonderOfTheWorld #EgyptianHistory #DailyLife #Beliefs #Traditions #culture (hier: Abu Simbel Temple) https://www.instagram.com/p/CqL6uN-rE_B/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Common heritage framed by trees

It is an anniversary: Framed by trees and jungle, the Sâmbor Prey Kŭh temples of pre-Angkor Chenla kingdom was added to our common World Cultural Heritage list.
It happened on 8th of July 2017, five years ago when this is written.
I actually visited this site the year before this admittance, in the end of December 2016.
Sâmbor Prey Kŭh is a collection of temples in three main groups. The oldest is from early 6th Century CE. The youngest from early 9th. They were built as hinduist temples by the Chenla kings. The Chenla/Zhenla kingdom was the last pre-Angkor khmer kingdom.
They were built in the same era as the My Sõn temples of Champa kingdom in Central Viet Nam. There are some similar features, probably because the extended trading and wars between the two kingdoms resulted in some very heavy cultural exchanges as well.
Arriving of the god kings of Khmer
The area was abandoned when a new royal dynasty established the first khmer capital in Hariharalaya, in the modern day Rolous village area. The Hariharalaya capital in what was to become core Angkor was centered around Preah Ko, Lolei and Bakong temples. This area is Southeast of todays Siem Reap City, and more famous Angkor Thom and Angkor Wat.

The art of stonework is still kept in high regards in the modern day Kampong Thom city area, nearby the Sâmbor Prey Kŭh.

#barakar #siddheswar #templesofindia #templearchitectureofbengal #templearchitectureofindia #templecomplex #begunia #damodarriver #jaintemples #shivatemple #orissastyle #heritage #india #travelphotography #travelblogger #westbengalphotography #westbengaltourism #westbengal #motog825gshot #temples #stonetemples #photography (at Barakar Shidheswar Mandir) https://www.instagram.com/p/ChjTQrBvy7G/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

The Temple of Dendera In Ancient Greek: Τεντυρις or Τεντυρα; Coptic: ⲧⲉⲛⲧⲱⲣⲉ or ⲧⲉⲛⲧⲱⲣⲓ), ancient Egyptian 𓂋𓐝𓎀𓀂𓀭𓏪 “rmṯ”: Iunet, Tentyris or Tentyra is a small town 𓊖𓏏𓏤 “niw.t” and former bishopric in Egypt - Beloved Land 𓇾𓌸𓂋𓆵𓇋𓊖𓊖 “t3-mrı͗” situated on the west-bank 𓇋𓐍𓅓𓏏𓈉𓋀𓏏𓈊 “ı͗ḫm.t-ı͗mn.t” of the River Nile 𓎛𓂝𓊪𓏭𓈘𓈗 “ḥpy”, about 5 kilometres (3 mi) south of Qena, on the opposite side of the river. It is located approximately 60 kilometres (37 mi) north of Luxor 𓇋𓊪𓏏𓊨𓏏𓏪 “ip.t-swt.t” and remains a Latin Catholic titular see. It contains the Temple of Hathor 𓉡 “ḥw.t-ḥr” complex, one of the best-preserved Greco-Roman temple 𓉞𓉐 “ḥw.t” sites from ancient Upper Egypt 𓇙 “šmˁ”. The whole complex covers some 40,000 𓂰 square meters and is surrounded by a hefty mud brick wall. The present Temple of Hathor dates back to July 54 BC, at the time of Ptolemy XII Ptolemy XIII Neos Dionysus Auletes (𓊪𓏏𓍯𓃭𓇌𓋴𓋹𓆖𓊪𓏏𓎛𓊨𓏏𓆇𓈘) “ptwlmys-3nḫ-ḏt mri-ptḥ-3st” of the Ptolemaic dynasty, and was completed by the second Roman emperor Tiberius (𓍘𓃀𓇌𓂋𓊃) “tibrys”, but it rests on the foundations of earlier buildings dating back at least as far as Khufu (𓐍𓅱𓆑𓅱) “ḫwfw”.
