Okay but the fact that Sora and Riku were able to defeat Anti-Aqua was just so ridiculous to me… Aqua survived 12 YEARS in the realm of darkness, was repeatedly shown to be more powerful than Ventus and Terra, defeated HERSELF, just got a darkness-fueled power up, and she is the only keyblade master who genuinely trained her entire life. She should not have lost that battle imo

Okay so AU where Sora and Riku can’t beat Aqua, so they flee to the realm of light, but Aqua follows them out. But even as Anti-Aqua, she’s clearly shown to still be in control. Upon returning to the realm of light, she would briefly pause hunting them down to awaken Ventus, and Ventus would be able to talk enough sense into Aqua so she would focus her efforts on taking down Xehanort and beat the shit out of Mickey later. Cue the Keyblade war, Aqua just rips through all of the members of the organization, until she gets to Terranort and there’s an epic fight and she gets Terra back, and upon seeing Terra and Ventus safe again, she lets the darkness go on her own

I want to talk a bit about the scene in ReMind where Aqua and Ven confront Terranort and Vanitas right before they start fighting. Specifically, their brief conversation with Terranort.

The scene starts with Ven and Vanitas conversing, but then Terranort interrupts and tries to play mind games with Ventus. “If it’s darkness you’re looking for, Ventus, then I have more than enough to go around.”

And Aqua points her keyblade at Terranort in anger, which we’ve never seen her do before (as far as I know). “Stop! Quit using our friend for your games!”

Terranort points out that Aqua really shouldn’t be wielding her keyblade in anger as a Keyblade Master and he calls it shameful. I know it’s Terranort so he’s being an asshole, but he does have a point about that. And it’s pretty interesting to see Aqua doing it, since in Birth By Sleep she was firmly against giving into hate and rage and warned Terra not to give into his anger.

It’s heartbreaking seeing the look in poor Ven’s eyes after he hears Terranort’s words to Aqua. The poor kid looks so devastated and hurt.

Also as a Terraqua fan, I love that Terra is the reason that Aqua is angry enough to raise her keyblade at Terranort. It’s sweet that she cares that much about Terra.

I also love the speech Aqua makes at the very end, about how she wants only one thing with all her heart, which is to cast Xehanort out of Terra’s heart forever. ❤️

experiencing terranort feelings again tbh you know how in xehanort’s mind the plan to possess terra was probably just a ‘heehee i’m so evil i’m gonna steal a new body and presumably stay my exact self’ but we kinda see at times how he’s a bit disoriented. like the ‘who am i?’ thing plus after he gets amnesia. like the idea that he’s not just xehanort but some bizarre sad of both of their memories and feelings. i can’t help but wonder if parts of them resonated with each other. it’s messed up bc terra is xehanort’s victim and an unwilling captive to the man who finally showed his true colors and betrayed him, yet despite them being enemies, they really do have a lot in common. both of them having an affinity for darkness which their classmates could never understand, feeling isolated from their peers in that way… like maybe in terranort’s mind their memories and feelings began to blur together in a way to become somewhat stable. like apprentice xehanort could almost have a sense of humanity and sympathy within him again after having been an evil old man for so long bc now he’s got some young man’s lingering sadness in him that he understands
