I love when people had asked why a second Gladiator movie is needed the marketing team’s response was a campaign full of the hot leads’ close ups and cunty outfits, like it’s so obvious the movie wasn’t made for straight men and the plot is secondary lmao

on the development of Geta and Caracalla, Joseph Quinn and Fred Hechinger's portrayal and the characters' screen time.

It's amazing that the more I rewatch the film, the more I see the effort and passion that Joseph and Fred put into the characters. Geta and Caracalla have so little screen time, and yet they are the most captivating characters in the entire two and a half hour film.

The mannerisms, looks, postures, every second they tell a story that doesn't require words, but attention. We can see this when Caracalla looks at Geta, seeking his brother's recognition and support, or when Geta always makes a point of checking if Caracalla is happy, always being delicate when touching him.

Fred and Joseph tell a story of brothers who love each other, who depend on each other, but a love that hurts and slowly destroys them both. The empire is in chaos, but nothing compares to the minds of Geta and Caracalla, who only want to be seen by each other.

Honestly, I really wish they had more screen time. Their story is already a movie worthy of its own, and the fact that we only got twenty three minutes of Geta and Caracalla in a two and a half hour long movie is brutal. But even so, we were able to see the great way in which they were built and developed even in a short time, and that was thanks to the beautiful work of Fred and Joseph.
