Ooo, this is a really good question. Uhm. Well I think it'd depend on how you view Devastaors mind when combined. Me personally I see them as a sort of hive mind, kinda like the Hivewings from wings of fire. When one knows something, everyone feels it. So when Scavenger is regressed they sort of feel it, it makes the collective temper a lot shorter and makes Dev a little less likely to follow orders unless it's given by Prowl, who is Scavengers caregiver.

There can also be some side effects, such as dizziness and lack of focus, when they decombine. Usually combining forces Scavenger to try and deregress. It's painful and awful and Scavenger really hates it. He'll try and fight against combing if it means he can stay in littlespace.

As a whole however with a regressor in littlespace, Devastator is more quick tempered and frequently will have temper tantrums. It tends to make them more violent and easily swayed by their emotions and promises of rewards for actions. And, ofc, Scav's love of PAW Patrol will always be present. If it's on anywhere near them, they'll drop whatever and go to watch.

All in all, I think if Scavenger is regressed while combined it can seep in and cause the collective mind to behave as he does. Which is small an' vulnerable.

There's not much I have to say about 202 actually, mostly because it's wednesday already and most things have already been said. However here still my 5 unoriginal cents:

Ikari the creep is finally dead! Yey! (And was apparently a man and not a buff woman this whole time? Lmao)

Another Taro where his glasses got forgotten! And again in the water, lol. They're just such a part of his design that he always looks kinda of without them. But also sorta cat like (like Shin :)

And of course the end of the chapter was absolutely devestating. The way that Andos instincts won in the end and he tried to stay alive as long as possible for Shin to talk to him. Or to at least know that Shin would make it of the cruise. (I still think Ando is a terrible guy. Being nice at the end doesn't change anything about that. He's not redeemed, only turned out to be more complex. I still think that the guy is probably mentally unstable in some way.)

Shin somehow thinking he's a terrible person, despite giving up his last chance to talk with his dad somehow? (And possibly get more answers about why he did, well, everything he did.) Giving up on the only thing he was trying to do for 4 years since he left the lab? (And probably before that already. But before getting his powers he still felt wanted in the lab so his desire to look for Ando wasn't as big.) And to safe someone's else child that he doesn't even know? Please Shin, a bad person wouldn't care about a strangers life like that.

Ando telling Shin to live? (The reason he sneaked Shin out of Al Kalmaar.) And Taro watching all that. He really does know what kind of person Shin is, after all he spend most of that flashback with Shin trying to get to his father. Taro saw him giving up his only wish at the time, and while they stayed together for a while after that until Shin quit, Taro probably had no idea how to help Shin cope with that whole situation. (Honestly, who would?) He really knows Shin in a way Shin doesn't even know himself, because Shin is so disconected from emotions in some ways. The ones from others and his own, even though he can read minds. Shin never had a normal childhood at any point, never had proper socialisaition. He never had any contact with other children to learn how to deal with his own emotions in a healthy way. (And why he's sometimes so childish as an adult. Sure, Lu meant it as an insult, but it's obviously some sort of coping mechanism. After reconecting with Sakamoto in chapter 1 he finally has a chance to catch up on many things. He gets to have fun with Hana, celebrate new years, go to an amusement park, go to school or simply be petty about Lu stealing his apron. The more we learn about Shin the more so many of his actions and mannerisms just lead back about finally having a family where his inner child can live out and wanting to protect that family. TT)

Now. I hope Taro can talk some sense into our boy when we get back to the prison arc. And take him home where Aoi can make him a hot chocolate before putting him under a weighted blanket so he can sleep for 3 days straight.

More Adamandi time loop AU but on Beatrix’s side

Lowkey wanna make this into a fanfic but like how tf do I write a time loop help

Beatrix is absolutely DEVESTATED when they realize they’re in a loop. It only takes them about two loops to figure it out. At first they’re confused. Didn’t they just give Vincent a killing blow? Wasn’t Portia just by their side? Why were they suddenly at the beginning of Senior year?? And with an interview with Vincent suddenly too.

It’s when they meet Portia again is when they realize - This isn’t their Portia. Portia doesn’t know who they are yet. All she knows is their name. Nothing else. They fell in love with someone who doesn’t even know who they are anymore. All the moments they spent talking, falling asleep by the presses. Everything. It never happened. Every time Beatrix sees Portia for the first time in a new loop they have the slightest hope that just maybe she remembers. By some miracle, she remembers all the moments they had. She suddenly remembers the loop. But it never happens.

They eventually start remembering what time Portia should be meeting them. Even if they do everything else different they’ll try to spend time with her. It’s really one of the only things that keep them sane throughout living the same school year over and over again.

Beatrix starts to set their goal on stopping the prize from happening. At least Vincent’s prize - Somehow he always ends up trying to murder to win the prize. They try talking to him more, confronting him sooner, or publishing all the crimes sooner. They always end up dead. They really just grow numb to pain after the 7th or 8th time getting murdered.

I think it would be interesting if during the loops Beatrix remembers they desperately try to stop the prize. They have a strong idea of everyone’s prizes due to previous loops and interviews. At first they do have a project for the prize before they just give up and focus purely on stopping the prize. I think the Vincent and Beatrix dynamic would be even more interesting if in this AU Vincent is desperately trying to win the prize every loop, and Beatrix is trying to stop the prizes.

Beatrix goes through far less loops than Vincent. They never kill Vincent when they remember the loop. They can’t get the images of killing him out of their head every loop. The only times they killed Vincent was when they didn’t remember, out of mainly self defense. His death is the thing they’re trying to avoid - Most of the time it causes them to slip up around Vincent and get killed. Sometimes their efforts to stop the prize makes them a target for Vincent.

Random loop tidbits for Beatrix

- They die sm that whenever they remember the loop they have to take a second because “Jesus Christ I just remembered myself dying MULTIPLE TIMES”

- Beatrix struggles to be around Vincent whenever they remember the loop, their senses are “RUN AWAY DANGER” whenever they see him and remember all the times he killed them

- Whenever not remembering the loop they suddenly feel like something’s wrong whenever they’re with Vincent

- Right after they have the interview with Vincent they immediately put like 15 strings on - It grows with each time they remember loops - They can’t afford to forget anything important about the loop.

- Sometimes Vincent dies on accident or not by Beatrix and they’re throughly confused

Some wip timeline

- Mha starts and goes exactly the same except Yuji is also in Izuku and Bakugos class.

- Deku and Yuji are friends bc they are the only quirkless kids in their school. but like the kind of friends that are absolutely besties when in class/walking home but don’t give a shit about each other when not together in the same room.

- Deku always got hallucinations and stuff. The doctors said it was a result of trauma (dad shit idk, constant bullying, honestly just the knowledge he didn’t have a quirk fucked him up bad enough). He just put it off bc sure he sees creepy fucking monsters all the times there’s also a real monster down the street who just carelessly murdered a wife and child. At least the ones he hallucinates aren’t hurting anyone (right?? Right??)

- so Same start to mha as before Deku gets passed one for all. Once he is passed it he immediately stops having hallucinations. He doesn’t question it bc he’s so focused on getting into UA and becoming All Mights successor.

- Yuji instantly realizes Deku got a quirk and he’s like ‘damn. That really fucking sucks. Oh great now my grandpas dead can life get any fucking worse’

- and he hears some kids in the occult club talking about a dead finger that’s been floating around the city where devestating plauge and disaster follows it.

- series of events occur, Yuji eats it. I like to think he thought he was pulling a Spiderman. Which I mean technically he did but not the way he wanted.

- Big fight happens once he starts seeing jj monsters (im shortening jujutsu to jj bc im too lazy to type). Fushiguro swoops in (not realizing he ate the finger) and is like ‘dude stop you don’t even know what your doing just go home’

- Yuji is like ‘omg let’s go I’m gonna go to UA now’ so he shows up to the trials and starts the moch test w deku.

- deku is showing off one of all, and Yuji is trying to show off his new powers. None of his moves are working, and it’s like no one can even see his magic.

- he like ‘dude how tf are you getting all the attention like that’s cool an all but do you sEE what I’m doing.’

- and Deku says …’no. We can’t, actually. Are you not still quirkless?’

- so Yuji is kinda peeved. Eventually a monster that Was Not Described in the brief shows up and tries to attack deku so he beats it. His powers finally work, and that’s when ALL THE JJ MONSTERS IN THE ARENA come for him all at once.

- to him he’s fighting for his life and no one is helping or even caring. To everyone else he looks like a dude on a movie set doing a fight scene that hasn’t been greenscreened yet.

- fight ends. He runs to see what his score was. He arguably had the worst fight considering he was fighting a mob of unlisted enemies w/ out help.

- he has absolutely zero points- no regular, no rescue, no nothing. Zero points all across the board

Hi Anon, appreciate the compliment and birthday message! Didn't catch this one until now.

"Best" has multiple categories, and I haven't played the full range (only most of them) so here's my breakdown:

Best gameplay - 7: Skies Unknown [PS4, X1, PC]. While it might not have anything new in terms of core mechanics, the handling of aircraft and their performance was good, and the implementation of the parts system allowed a little more flexibility and options when it came to aircraft and payload selection.

Best story - 5: Unsung War (Squadron Leader in some regions) [PS2]. Yeah, the writing can be corny at best and disingenuous at worst, and preachy at other points with the anti-war warfighter message, but fuck I still love it. Partly because it's probably one of the first narratives in a game that I actually got pulled into while playing it. Other 'story' games I was playing around that same time I didn't get heavily drawn into, or didn't actually have a deeper story to it (though Tony Hawk's Underground 2's story did make me laugh a lot at the time). 5 was the first game to make me cry (Chopper!) and even to this day I still find myself playing it from time to time, even if I know all the missions back to front and could feasibly speed-run it within a couple hours. One of my all time favourites to this day.

Best graphics - 6: Fires of Liberation [X360]. Hear me out. This game still looks amazing on the 360 (and on the X1 when played with reverse compatibility). I don't think 7 has the same level of smoke persistence and particle effects that 6 had, and it shows. The gameplay feature of multiple "operations" (essentially a mission has multiple objectives within a given mission, and you need to complete a certain number to progress further) allowed me to jet from hot zone to hot zone, and if one of those objectives was a air-to-air, seeing the furball of missile smoke trails and explosions grow as I flew in at Mach 1.2 was nothing short of breathtaking.

As for which one you can get for the PS3? Honestly, your only feasible option would be Ace Combat: Assault Horizon, and that's if you can find a disk copy as I'm pretty sure it's been pulled from all digital stores. But even then, it's an Ace Combat in name only.

Objectively, it's an okay game. As an Ace Combat fan? It's absolute garbage. I think it would've served better if it was called Call of Duty: Aces Above. The story and concept is much more at home as a CoD/BF type game than it ever was as an Ace Combat. If you've played COD4, just take that story and put the characters in fighter jets and you'll be good.

Well, it's not that identical, but fuck, it ticks the checklist of COD4 copies of that time period:

Generic white male military officer that holds high enough rank to have authority but low enough to still see direct action? Check: Colonel William Bishop, field commander of the US contingent of NATO's Task Force 108.

Conflict in some third-world country that has the US involved in interventionary/peacekeeping efforts? Check: US Forces as part of a NATO TF in Africa.

Tense relations between US forces and Russian forces? Russians are also deployed to Africa in the same AO, and while they are alligned with NATO's objectives in the region, it's made explicit that Russia is only there on their own terms.

Internal conflict in Russia results in war breaking out, and US is involved? Yep, ultranationalist forces launch a coup and try to seize control.

Globe trotting across the world in notable cities and locations? Let's see... missions taking place over Miami, Dubai, the Suez Canal, Moscow and Washington DC.

A WMD that is either nuclear or not-a-nuke-but-just-as-devestating? The "Trinity" is a large thermobaric weapon, essentially a scaled down MOAB that the Russians made into a cruise missile.

Russian antagonist with paper-thin justifications for doing what he's doing? Alexi 'Akula' Markov's rampage of revenge against NATO and the US is because his wife was killed in a NATO airstrike during the Bosnian War.

Gratuitous graphics and explosions involving military hardware that costs more than any one of us can ever imagine of seeing? One of the game's marketing taglines was 'make metal bleed'. Need I say more?

Honestly, if you're in a position to? Get a PS4 or X1 and then pick up Ace Combat 7, or get it for PC (and play it with an Xbox or PS controller).

I Hate the two plates I’ve been working on for a month I love the concept but I think the composition sucks and they keep having issues and I etched one for longer than the other for SOME REASON so the lines are darker and the face and body shape of the figure spewing ribbons out of its mouth looks so stupid and not at all what I was going for and well I am just really mad that I’ve been trying to get this piece made for a Month and it’s so awful. Such is Making yk but -_- god. I can pivot and exclude them at least and it will be fine and probably better / more doable but sighhhh. I might just transfer an altered version of the design to Bristol and make an ink drawing of it if I have time and put that in the book and move tf on but rahhhh so much work for nothing it’s so devestating 2 me

February Reads

Billionaire Darling by Amelia Lark (7/10) Another ARC read from an indie author. I haven't read a billionaire romance in a while so I was quite excited to get back into it. It was a classic trope of grumpy x sunshine, enemies to lovers. However, I wasn't too fond of the characters being childish. It made sense that the billionaire, Leo, was scared of being used for his money while the sunshine, Aurora, will do anything to restore her father's hotel, but I wasn't a fan of the instalove attraction. And after their night together, one person will always retract and it continues as a circle which is the infamous miscommunication trope being used, but that irritated tf out of me. When they finally get together, the old problem arises and I genuinely did not care if they got together at that point. Starting off, I was so excited since it was a small town backing the FMC up because it reminded me of Final Offer, but the scene and FMC reminded me of The Fine Print, and I wasn't really into it.

Unsteady by Peyton Corinne (7.9/10) I picked up this book not being 100% into it so that would explain the lower rating. But also, this is about a golden retriever hockey captain x black cat figure skater so it makes sense as that is not directly up my alley. However, in comparison to Icebreaker, I understood the FMC, Sadie's problem. Also, the golden retriever boyfriend was so precious that I just wanted to love and hug him. He, Rhys, went through a devestating injury on the ice that makes him struggle mentally, and she's his clutch. However, she's dealing with so much more than just on the ice. She is unlikable at times because she's honestly so rude to others for no reason, but then I remember what she's going through, and I'm like ehhhh, okay, I guess. Overall, I loved the MMC, but the FMC was eh. Solid story though, esp. since it's Corinne's debut.

The Ex Talk by Rachel Lynn Salomon (9/10) I truly liked this one. I might be late for the trend, but this one had me so invested. This book follows Shay, a millennial, and Dominic, a fresh out of grad school Gen-Z'er. They are enemies at the radio station they work at and get casted to host a show where they are exes. Oh, my god, not only is Dominic Asian, but the man can literally exist, not say a single thing, and he will have my complete heart. And there's also a slight grumpy/sunshine trope which really isn't because Dominic isn't grumpy-- he's just shy, and Shay is nice, but she's not that annoying to the point where she acts like a child. Another thought about it is Shay's friend, Ameena, was fucking annoying for what she did to Shay. Like she didn't do anything per se, but she made Shay feel so shitty about living her life the way she wants to, comfortable.

Devious by Jess Savage (7.8/10) This was a let down from how excited I was. I feel like I should've left it where the last book stopped with a belief of happy ever after, because it ended with another cliffhanger. In this book, we got to know Ella more, which is what I hoped for in the first book, but Ella was such an unlikable character. Like it was clear she had some issues that needed to be resolved on her end. The book was just Ella being a brat and being vague about her not wanting Hailey to fuck Jack, while Jack was being adorable. I had to remind myself multiple times that these are 18 year olds.

First Down by Grace Reilly (6/10) Not really for me. Yeah, it's a sports romance, and it's a college romance, but the insta-attraction threw me the fuck off. The characters James and Bex (stupid name tbfh) got together by like 40% even though they're fake dating like.... now what... Maybe I'm just a trend girlie because I was into the football scene in college, but I am now in my hockey era and don't think football's all that. BUT something didn't sit right with me regarding James, the MMC. First off, he transferred from another school and stayed QB, which I don't know much about but that seemed odd as fuck. Then he goes and calls it HIS TEAM to his teammates as if most of them haven't made their home at the team and school 3 years before he even stepped foot over. Also, his appearance wasn't really described other than he has dark hair and is tall (also implied that he is clean shaven and is skinny) but that's all. How is that attractive tbh, and the ego on the man is insane. Though rightfully bc of his status, but his looks??? Idk man, and bro hasn't gotten pussy in a while. Another case of poor girl meets rich boy. Boo fucking hoo.

Daddies’ Girl by Calista Jane (6/10) The spice was there, and it was a good filler chapter to the BDSM, but other than that, nothing really happened. Beside that, it's like a "what if I". It does leave your mind wondering what else is to happen, but I was bored reading it. Another case of damsel in distress.

A Healing Touch by Melissa A. Hanson (7/10) This is another ARC read. I want to dock points because I was led to believe this was a romance when it is more of a mystery/thriller, but that isn't really fair. The story is really emotional because Natasha is dr*gged and r*ped. She doesn't know who it is, and the book is a journey of her finding herself again, finding love in the cold world, and finding out who did it. Troy, the MMC's story is kind of weird, but he's her person because he, or his sister, has gone through the same thing. The grammar was an issue that I caught in the book and was mildly annoying, but it didn't take away my understanding of the book. The long chapters was also very unlikable, but overall, it was a good read.

Unravel Me by Becka Mack (8/10) I had so much fun with this book. I usually hate the instalove/attraction trope, but this one was acceptable. Adam is such a lovable and acceptable MC. Rosie, our FMC, just wanted to fully be loved, and they found each other at the perfect time. They are made for each other. The thing that pissed me off honestly was the "hidden identity" aspect because Adam was lying when he said he worked with athletes but he did let it go too long. Rosie was mad which made me mad, but also, I get that she gets the feeling she's being cheated on so like I can't really be mad. This book wasn't perfect, but it's not far from it. Somehow, Adam went from being lonely to being in a family of 5 within a year. Love that for them.

Bleeding Hearts by Jess Taylor (6.8/10) Like it wasn't horrible nor did I HATE it, but also, I was so freaking bored. This was another book I picked up blindly from Tiktok because I am so down bad with the brother's best friend trope. Not only was Demi a freaking child whose story was basically just her going through emotional trauma at home and acts out, going to live on her own. Like all of this, I'm like you go girl, but on the other side, what she does/how she lives makes no sense. It's like a child wrote this as everything I want. The MMC, Asher, is a fuckboy so Demi befriends him knowing nothing can come of it. There was nothing wrong with Asher, but it was just Demi that bothered me sm. Anyway, the whole book and everything is aesthetic looking, but sadly, the content is not up to par.
