I caught Covid and sketched this out when I was starting to feel better last week. I had an idea in mind and needed to sketch it quickly

Here’s a little sketch comic of young Maeve and Bhihaar during one of their secret rendezvous as friends. They’re both catching feeling but too shy to tell the other flat out that they’re taken by the other.

This is gonna be added to my list of wips lol

Can you tell that I have fun drawing Maeve’s expressions? I swear some of the expressions she’s making I have sketched for Fleur- especially that surprised expression on the second page. I’ll try finding the comparison because yeah Maeve and Fleur look very similar face wise. The only things separating young Maeve from Fleur is their fringes/hair length, eye shape and beauty mark location lol

Let’s take a moment to admire he head shot of Bhihaar in the last page. Sick me drew Bhihaar very handsome. Maybe he looks a bit more handsome because his face isn’t full of his signature facial tattoos because you can see more of his face.

So recently, I asked @thanatasia to do a small challenge for herself as practice as a prize for a small thing she did. While she was doing her sketch, I felt that if I'm going to challenge someone to step out of their comfort zone, I should do the same myself.

So the challenge was to draw a piece from a high angle with foreshortening, my least favorite things, with a background and at night to practice my colors.

THIS PIECE KICKED MY SOUL AND MY BUTT!!!! Took me this whole week to draw and finish the thing. I'm honestly glad it turned out so pretty though, it was also my first time drawing the Atokirina so that also added to the stress.

Still, I am proud of how it came out and the fun part was playing with the glowing effect. Especially Tree’ya’s freckles and her eyes.

Zela the Charm Weaver

I know I don't have the most interesting OC, mainly due to my lack of confidence in drawing skills and the fact that I don't post about her much at all to begin with, but regardless if this gets any notes or not I want to share some things about my girl 💙💙

- Zela is a half-Stonewood Sifan (though I'm sure most people know that by now from my user lol)

- Her mother Lana is a Stonewood who officially joined the Sifa after marrying Zela's Sifan father Shal’un

- She is 20 trine old when the Resistance begins

- She has two younger siblings, her brother Mar (13) and sister Tida (Ty-da) (10)

- Despite the hectic lifestyle of the Sifa, Zela's family prefers a more relaxed, domestic living. They own a ship, of course, which they live in but it is more often tied-off in Cera-Na than out at sea

- This mainly has to do with a horrific accident when Shal’un was involved in a shipwreck while on a voyage with friends during his younger trine. He was the only survivor, and hasn't been too far out on the Silver Sea since

- He still provides for his family and clan as a fisherman

- Zela found a keen interest in Sifan charms early on in life; she loves jewelry, especially the kind that holds special meaning to Gelfling

- She enjoys crafting intricate Sifan charms, even making personalized ones for her friends, family and occasionally any Sifans when her work catches their eyes, as long as they're willing to pay (the Sifa do nothing for free, after all)

- Zela usually tries to avoid much social interaction with most Sifa, especially strangers, because here's the thing: she's a selective mute

- This sort of trait is rare among the Sifa (and Gelfling in general), making Zela the target of more teasing than feels acceptable.

- There's no major reason for her being mute, she's just more reserved and prefers not to speak

- She basically gets a lot of crap for not being a "true Sifa" because of her meekness and the fact that her family doesn't participate in the super adventurous ways of the Sifa. Not to mention she doesn't have soothsaying or Far-Dreaming abilities of any kind, so she has been more often than not referred to as a "dud"

- Despite this, she lets her mother "bless" her charms (even though Lana obviously has no sense of Far-Dreaming, soothsaying or any form of Sifan magic either), because it makes her feel a little better

- Though Zela is proud of her heritage on both sides, she often questions her identity and how she fits into either clan beyond her general appearance

- She is reminded why when exploring the beaches and cliff sides of the Coast near Ha'rar and Cera-Na, when she looks out to the sea and feels the welcoming ocean winds. She feels that she's home.

- She still struggles from time to time, of course, regarding her muteness; although she could speak if she wanted to, she doesn't, and it makes her feel less worthy of having friends

- However, she does find comfort in the small friend group she has, the closest being Azra and Fleur (who belong to @thanatasia <3 )

- Zela has a drastically different personality from either of them, but they are super accepting of her choice to be silent and love her for who she is

- She's super close with Azra because both of them know what it's like to be deemed the "odd ones out" in their clan. They usually spend their time crafting mysterious charms and potions together. This becomes especially fun (if a bit terrifying at times) whenever Shiyoon (who belongs to @myfanartblogplusshippingtrash <3 ) comes around. Nothing but pure chaos ensues but Zela always finds herself getting involved every single time.

- Let’s just say the only sound heard from her in years was a scream.

- She became friends with Fleur during a visit to Stone-in-the-Wood while visiting family. Fleur came to her defense when a particularly rude Stonewood chided her for not speaking and made remark about her belonging to the Dousan more so than the Sifa or Stonewood, telling her to go back to the “Desert of Death”. Fleur just happened to be sitting nearby when this happened and you can guess what happened from there

- In spite of her flaws and shyness, Zela is one of the kindest, loving Gelfling you will ever meet. She may not be able to say it, but she cares deeply for those closest to her. <3

I hope one day I can finally be satisfied with my drawing style and post my own portraits of her. Until then, you can admire the drawings and sketches done by @myfanartblogplusshippingtrash (latest one in my icon) and @thanatasia !

This is a messy doodle of a random thought that came to mind of how Kiel and Fleur first met

Before the two of them found their soulmates Kiel and Cha’l would kinda hype the other up to strike a conversation with a Gelfling that caught their eye. In this instance things didn’t go down how they normally did- Kiel finally got to see the sister Cha’l would talk about- and witnessed Cha’l’s overly protective big brother side XD

Kiel didn’t put two and two together when he first saw Fleur because at first glance she and Cha’l don’t automatically look like siblings (mostly because their skin tones/patterns are very different, but that hair is a dead giveaway lol)

Idk if my handwriting is too hard to read since I was speeding it so I’ll type the dialogue here:

Kiel: Hey Cha’l! Check out that cutie.

Kiel: Do you think she’ll give a guy like me a chance?

Cha’l: NO

Kiel: Ouch Cha’l what-

Cha’l: That’s my sister

Kiel: … You have a cute sister?

Kiel: Chill! I was looking at her respectively

The big splotch on the second image was Cha’l basically saying that he didn’t want to see Fleur get her heart broken. Before this moment Fleur confessed to Rek’yr but was rejected. She was by the Sifan market to have a little retail therapy and surprise her brother.

@dark-crystal-week Day 3: Favorite Character

I’m late but thought I’d share this Deet I sketched a few days ago. It has been many moons since I drew Deet- or any canon character lol

Deet is my fave of the AoR cast. Her kind and gentle nature, as well as her connection to nature made her my favorite character. I’ll never forgive Netflix for canceling the series the day after it won an Emmy and for leaving the series on a cliffhanger. I want to know what happens to Deet!!

I’m kinda happy with how this sketch turned out. The last time I drew Deet was for Stonegrot week last year and…I think I made her snoot too long lol

Just a joke I had in my mind for a loooong time.

Most everyone draws the Gelfling accurately and then there’s me who can’t help but draw them a bit taller, a bit more muscular and a bit more shapely.

Podlings and Childlings? No problem, Thanatasia can draw them pretty accurate.

But adult Gelfling? I just can’t help it when I adjust the proportions

I’ve accepted that my quick sketches are kinda accurate while my colored pieces are elves with funky ear shapes and four digits lol

My hat’s off to all of you who draw Gelfling correct height wise. Idk how you do it

@smaaenart Tasia and Rian bonding! Rian is tall, maybe not taller than Gurjin, but definitely taller than Deet and gives the best piggyback rides!

For anyone that may not know, Tasia belongs to Smaaenart and she is a Stonegrot childling. She’s super cool and has a nice story.

Her are 2 little sketches I made of Fleur and Cha’l’s younger brother, Ofir. He’s super cute, he loves Fizzgigs, he wants to be a hero when he grows up and he’s a vegetarian lol

So for art requests I was thinking maybe Rian and Deet in a demon slayer au? Where instead of turning into a demon its the darkening and its them fighting darkened creatures

I messed up the format on this but below is the reference photo I used for this quick sketch. Instead of giving Deet Nezuko’s outfit I gave her Kanao’s. Although, Deet having the darkening and having some control over it would be a cool counterpart to Nezuko being a demon but not eating human flesh. When I think about this is reminds me of a fanfic called “The Call of Thra” where Deet had some control of the darkening and was using it to help the resistance. That fanfic is mostly Seladon x Freckles with sprinkles of RoyalSand and a side order of Stonegrot lol (fair warning it’s rated M (but those parts are pretty easy to skip.). And it is unfinished so the ending is up to you)

I’m so happy you requested this idea because I really love it and I would definitely want to redo this piece with a better sketch.

I don’t think Rian is a Tanjiro and Deet is definitely no Kanao. I would say they could be like Obanai and Mitsuri but Rian is no Obanai lol But I do think Deet would be a cool Mitsuri because of her warmth and kindness to everyone she meets (and willingness to get down to business when her friends need her)

I need to watch season 2 already! I’m waiting for all the episodes to air and hopefully get the funds for a streaming service to watch it. Or wait longer for it to hopefully be on Netflix…

Seventh end of year request sketch for @the-experimental-writer of Brea and SkekOk. I came up with a platonic scenario for them.

I went with a scene that could’ve happened after we saw Brea get in the carriage with SkekOk and SkekLach. Because Brea hugs him before going to her mother and sisters, I imagine that perhaps they had a fun chat about books and writing. SkekLach is in the background bored and probably thinking of something to say to change the conversation.

Maybe the carriage ride was fun the entire time for Brea. I personally think some things were said to Brea that she overlooked at the time, but realized what it meant after finding out the Skeksis’ true nature.

Second end of year request sketches for @simplysparrow14 of Deku from; My Hero Academia/Boku no Hero Academia and Allura x Lance from Voltron.

I haven’t drawn humans in so long and I feel rusty lol

I use to love MHA so much. I’m not fully up to date with the manga but I skim around to when the Todoroki family drama/developments happen lol

I’m not familiar with Voltron (the 80’s or Netflix one) but I know of the characters. I feel like Allurance will make me sad because of what I found out happens. I’m not 100% sure if Lance wears the same facial markings Allura wears after a certain event or if he did it earlier but I added it anyway. I’m really happy with this sketch, they look so cute.

Angsty sketch comic alert! This one features Takoda and Adora (Elkie’s twin) as well as Elkie somewhere down the road.

I sketched this one some time ago when I began feeling mentally and physically better from a few things. Takoda x Adora is the wholesome sweet ship my friend @jack-toons thought looked cute and I saw the light and potential of these two! One of these days I will share how they met and developed a relationship lol

This sketch comic takes place during the Garthim Wars. Automatic angst! Adora is kind of an angsty Gelfling when I think about it. She’s not the brooding angsty type of gal but it hits her a lot when she’s alone or around others she is strongly familiar with. Pair that with how hectic the Garthim Wars is…Adora isn’t handling the situation well. Takoda is a very patient and soft, yet stern guy when he needs to be- he’s definitely Adora’s rock and dispeller of most negative thoughts.

I won’t blab TOO much…believe me I will lol

Fourth end of year sketch for @gelfling-oona of her Grottan Oc Deirdre!

You have so many Gelfling Ocs to choose from but I had to draw Deidre. She’s so pretty and I love her animal friend too. It was fun drawing another one of your Ocs, you some really nicely designed ones too!

After a thousand trine my gift to my best and dearest friend @yellowtribalwolf is complete! This is a piece of her Gelfling Oc, Bora, who has such a great story and I’m super excited to see how her story plays out when the time comes!

The second slide is around where I had left off at (minus the shadow guides) so this is about a year of difference between the two. I’m so glad I went back in and fixed her face lol It’s nice to see much my art has improved from Dec. 2020/Jan. 2021 to now

What killed me was that I was going for a particular style but confused myself along the way. I’m happy though because she looks even better than I originally planned.

Since Bora is a Vapra Noble I included a stained glass of a Unamoth behind her to give her more of a regal look, as well as page homage to her story and clan. I also wanted to give myself another challenge because my friend deserved it for being so patient with me.

I wanna draw her and Azra together because of two reasons. 1) their personalities are so different that it’ll be funny. Who doesn’t find friendships with opposite personalities fun lol 2) is a secret until the right time comes and I can sketch some things.

Excuse me while I disappear again lol I’ve got a ton of messages to get back to and commissions to make progress on. I’ll try to post some IG question answers in between commission work and down time.

Third end of year request sketch for @stonewoodsifa of her oc Zela and my Fleur!

I love their friendship, especially since Zela doesn’t talk much/at all and Fleur can be quite the chatterbox at times lol I can imagine a few scenarios about that part of their friendship dynamic shining. They’re both probably making friendship necklaces or similar necklaces for their husbands.
